Some people who can only sit for 30min at a time might feel that even 1hr is a bit long.

Another example of hard balance since there's so many different types of players to cater to.

All the issues mentioned so far - is just the whole MMO genre over the last 2 decades.
They became less social, more streamlined,homogenized,metas, BiS,mtx...

But some of the blame is on the players as well for wanting BiS,meta and having less time to grind,not wanting to socialize etc

Grind when done properly leads to a sense of accomplishment and not all rewards/achievements should be available to every player.

My experience of Classic, now with a refreshed eye, has further bolstered my opinion in that that sort of game design is an amicable way to reward both those that either choose or outright don't have the time to play the game for hours on end, and reward those that play 10+ hour sessions every day.

Part of the reason I have hung around lotro as long as I have is because I can just chill and craft, run some deeds if I need store currency to buy expansions. But there is still that grind culture baked into the game. So I pretty much play alone. I never team up, because I am expected to play a certain way if I do. I was happy to chat while playing alone, but since lockdown the chat has gone toxic, even on the kindest of servers. Palia feels like it's going to draw in more people like me. People who just want their escapism to be more escapey. My downtime should be relaxing. Not spent stopping every 5 seconds to add another jerk to my ignore list.

So just wanted to share a theory I had about neighborhoods and how they'll be implemented, or at least where they'll be in game. In the trailer when the player character is headed to their house for the first time they have to travel through a sort of nature trail. Once They get to their house, behind them you can see in the distance the town, but not too terribly far away. I'm thinking that maybe that entire stretch of land between your house and the town will be the initial Neighborhood area where you'll have to prep the area before you can build there. This will give ez access to both the town and everyone's individual player houses.

Aww it was great, really enjoyed it. Very cartoonish, no real loss losing to a dungeon, so you could go work on getting better and try again easy enough. It was just enjoyable. 🙂 Plus lots of controls for parents to lock down how much public interaction their kids could have. Was a pretty safe place imho, and calm.

The main limiting issue I can see you having with ff14 is the graphics card, even at low settings you still end up with a high shader count.

Yea, unfortunately there's not a ton of upgrade options for that machine and the case size

The cards that I can put in it are costly.. almost to the point that buying a new rig is the better option.

Well cases aren't the expensive. When I upgraded my PC I bought a $25 case off of amazon for my old parts and made them a second PC.

For cards you could go 1 to 2 gens behind and still be in good shade, might not be top of the line, but will still will last you a while.

Also with the current supply issues with the latest gen cards, you would be saving yourself some headache too.

I don’t think they are that rigid. They have said the house building concentration is on the decoration rather than the building itself. So you build using room floor plans and decorate as you wish. It would be good however to see another house showing the same decorations in totally different places to show it is really that flexible.

I hope housing has a lot of customization possible for placement of objects, not necessarily locked into a grid pattern or set to only be certain ways for certain items. I love how eso’s housing items let you put them wherever, or ffxiv has the turn on/off grid snap functions
