idk if pvp players will touch this game if its centered around community, take animal crossing for instance, Very little way to dwelve into the crazy side of a person, you cant commit arson, cant kill anyone or troll anyone (to an extent). As long as Palia makes it so to dulls a pvp players mind, it should be enough to drive them away or even make them a good community member.

One simple thing I'm looking forward to do, is to find the highest mountain I can get myself on top of, just to (hopefully) glide down and see the birds eye view. I have this feeling that the world might be quite interesting to explore, especially that way. That being said, I also kind of hope flying is very limited, such as to the gliders.

I've always loved when games let you link up movement abilities. You can use a GW2 mushroom, pop a glider at the height of the launch, and then switch to a mount to extend your airtime. Champions Online had 'travel powers' that worked similarly. You could have a super jump ability and get up somewhere high, then take a leap of faith and kickstart a jetpack or flight.

Palia's not exactly a jumpy leapy sort of game (from the vibes I get), but if we do have multiple modes of getting around, some link-up between them might be neat.

Key like everything is live is to balance things out, and offer help whenever possible your wheelchair ramp example is a optional that does not hurt anyone.

How about an alternative route up through the puzzle that just takes a bit longer? Same reward at the end, but the time spent figuring out jumps is adjusted/balanced for by the length of the walking/hiking route. How about a rope ladder item that lets people pull each other up along routes so that they can work together to complete the climb?

Features like jumping puzzles aren't inherently exclusive, but they do require more creative implementation to expand accessibility. Whether that's something that'll be possible in Palia isn't something I can answer, but to say certain content can't be in a game without it being some kind of moral reckoning on a company doesn't seem fair.

Raids are a perfect example. They're usually high-end coordinated content that I can't complete. My proposed solution? Difficulty levels with rewards that scale to difficulty so that people can do them at whatever level is most comfortable for them without missing out on rewards.

We don't have to brush our hands together and say 'welp, guess I'll never be able to do that content', we just need to think a little harder about how to put those things in games and ensure they reach more people.

Disabilities aside. There will always be content that is more and contebt thatbis less popular. Especially in an MMO. Casual players will tend to be worse all round than people that play hardcore. Some people are completionist and some cpuld not care less and just play the niche of content they enjoy.

Removing any content just reduces the chances of people finding their niche. So as a buisness plan I don't see how removing anything that is just a gameplay feature is likely to work for the company or the general game community. Trying to make it all accessable should be the plan but some things just are not going to work for some people. So there are 3 choices.

1. Make that content have nonimpact on the rest of the game.
2. Try to find an alternative route that allows access to others to the end result
3. Remove that content.

But essentially removing content for a minority is just not fair on the majority and certainly will not help the developers keep the game running if it removes a proportion of their income to do so. I am sorry bunny. But unless there is another solution that I cannot see, I do not know what you expect.

There is a large element though where this is S6's game. The testers can suggest anything and everything they've ever thought would fit nicely into the game; but without S6's vision, it's hard to pin it down to relevant suggestions.

I hope they get that communication and aren't just suggesting anything and everything that they've enjoyed over the past 20-30 years.

Indeed. I don't disagree at all with the principal. And I don't think it is fair that accessability is such an issue either. I just feel that there has to be a balance between content and accessability or the game will not succeed in a large enough scale to continue in the longer term. Making everything to accessable can also hurt gameplay for those who play games for content AND community. Not just community. So it is a hard balance to find.
