The forced PVP was a big downer for me. Otherwise I was okay with the game! but it just kinda ground to a halt for me

I'm really looking forward to a PVPless game. Because a lot of games make it a point to integrate it into progression or making it something that if you want to get the full experience that you need to pvp.

The only one that I've been okay with so far about any PVP has been FFXIV because it just feels like an absolute free-for-all and everyone's too busy trying to cap things to really be toxic about how much I suck at it.

I've played onr game like this with optional battle dungeons (Free realms, I think this game can learn a lot from it) and I loved it but every MMORPG I've seen since then just isn't my thing. My view is probably warped but for me the split is simply this :

If you make a character; and play the game using that character, you are yourself (the individual) playing a video game. There is no attachment to the character beyond it is enables you to play the game & enjoy the story - Much like reading a book; you read what the character does & enjoy it.

Or you play/gain entertainment from playing a certain character of your design/narrative within a video game environment - this is a poor attempt at simplifying roleplay.

So to me; i personally don't have much interest in what your character backstory claims to have done / I just care about you the person - are you friendly, fun to chat to, fun to game with.

I would be glad if there were something like 2 zones for buiilding your neighbourhood:

1. default chill palia greenzone with no damage, enemies, things that can ruin your experience.
2. some sort of pve zone, not specifically survival zones but like ... there are wolves and they do attack

the first zone would be good for something peaceful like farming while the second zone is more about hunting grounds with specific resources due to specific animals.
and they can trade goods with each other.

Yes, seeing as we don't know how neighbourhoods are going to work outside of just being a guild .. there have been several ideas on what could be bought to it to make it work as a part of Palia .. pop it in the suggestions channel for sure .. if neighbourhoods are allow to create building zones for their housing, there is a chance there might be a way to mark areas for specific purposes .. if not straight away then maybe down the line as the game grows.
