Hit me up. Something that's bothered me for many years is the complete lack of importance for crafted armor/weapons. They are always fillers so I'd like to see the value of someone crafting something rare/unique (not necessarily legendary). @north valve Heh heh. We'll have to see once I get into a test stage and how crafting is going to play. There will clearly be ways to get furniture & goods for the housing but initial glances at an avatar are not the house but the avatar itself. First impressions and all that.

It even could be as simple as the value being the customized craftwork and not so much becoming OP.

I wonder if player-submitted customization of decorations and items might be a thing. ie: A sword with a pre-determined shape, but you'd have the ability to place your own designs on it through whatever art program the game permits. Some games do this for clothes and such, but with weapons you'd literally be crafting the item, at least in part.

That could add another layer, one for others to do. Unless I suddenly develop a passion for digital creation I'd see myself taking on their graphics/customizations but applying the in-game prowess that may or may not require obsessive amounts of farming materials to do. 🙂

I do love farming materials. I like to be part of communities where I can farm materials while socializing, and provide them to the crafters etc within the community. particularly fond of mining and smithing ingots for a blacksmith to do their thing

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH. When I initially got into FFXIV it was primarily for crafting and learning their systems. I stopped playing and most of my experience has been in World of Warcraft. Mastering the economy and whatnot eventually got boring because my server over time became so low population that it stifled my desire to play. One of my primary professions was Blacksmithing, though - I had many rare recipes from Classic.

I love fishing, too.

You could make a profession guild for gathering ore called "Mostly Miners." 😛

More to do with localization I'd say, considering this is in their FAQ and Q&A that they want all things in English as they cannot support other languages (yet). The localization is precisely that - the game translated into other languages. Also from their ask-the-team FAQ:

"I can't speak exactly to where you are, but expanding servers across the globe should eventually happen as we expand localization support. As long as everything goes well."

In a previous incarnation I was in IT. I understand at a higher level but imagine they are trying to get a certain amount of people into a house but before you can do that you need to make a door big enough to fit a certain amount of people in a certain amount of time. Then they'll make the house bigger and figure out how much bigger the door needs to be and how often it will open/shut.

And once that house is perfected, they'll add another house.

Often, main stories in mmo's feel separated for me - I have the option to run my mission with other players; but they don't get the progress / they're on a different part / they aren't in my cutscenes etc.
