Yeah i think it certainly is a system that brings an extra level of game management which can be entertaining. I personally would like it to be different to current iterations in survival games - where, at least for me, my focus becomes how to minimize the amount of time i spend resolving the hunger / thirst / temp issues my character faces and not to enjoy the value something like that good have.

In my mind, bit of a challenging issue to come up with something different to - stockpile food & water, eat & drink everytime my bar gets low though

true, it's an overdone game mechanic even when done correctly. I read in the faq we won't have a health bar/life amount to manage so I can't imagine having to do a survival style eating and drinking, but maybe burden and speed of travel could be a way they go.

I don't recall seeing any references to it recently, but maybe? the study I did see commented on how the population mostly fled the major cities, some people helped by warning people not to go into infected areas, some people healed and rez'd players, and some people purposefully tried to make it spread worse, claiming it wasn't a big deal.
