My guess for tech is that it’s some kind of past higher age stuff where maybe the humans were in a technological golden age and the current technology that we see is stuff that’s left over, been found, or has been excavated by the current people - so in use but not really reproduced

Yeah my feeling is it'll be a bit like My Time At Portia in that respect - it's a post-collapse world so there's remnants of old tech but it's stuff that cannot be easily reproduced or not even always understood how it works - they can just use what they find

I know some python since I took a class on it. However I say python is a stepping stone to get you prepped for C++. Alot of my professors agreed with me. Which requires math that I suck at. There's a game out there called "LegendsOfIdleon" it's kinda trash but I love the system of how you're able to move around with 3 characters each specialized in another skill

So you may have your main character that needs a high level sword, so you'll tell your lumberjack and miner to get high level materials so your crafter can craft the sword for your fighter

Depends how it is implemented. In the FAQ they mention multiple characters being a thing - in terms of how games end up playing, you tend to find people use those characters to have a gatherer, hunter & crafter

I don't care for skill trees, unless we can fit all the skills into the number of characters we are allowed. I do like systems that let you put a thousand hours into skill A, but by doing that you have no time for skills B, C, and D, so they are barely enough to do important things, like a wonderful cook, but can grow a potato AND beans, and can go fish if you want to, but you'll never catch a swordfish

I would love to do QA several Betas with tons of restarts and testing. Understanding of the Programming behind it and how mistakes can happen.
Everspace had the bug, if you go backwards while exiting the hangar by pressing ESC and hold it. you will be stuck in the hangar without having a UI and no possability to exit the hangar. Alt +F4 moment there. discovered 3 weeks before release 😄

the other problem with being QA is that you write up the bug, the engineers fix it, but you have no idea how they fixed it. Did they alter code? Did they remove something? Did they add something? Did they sacrifice a computer mouse to the Demon Murphy and get it fixed by magic?
