But in MMOs and most video games you can play, stop, play stop for as long or as little as you like and it has really very little bearing on anyone else or your progress. In something like boxing. I think where a lot of games get fishing wrong is the meal output that you get when cooking. Like if food in Palia is going to give some buff the cooking an entire striped bass should yield multiple uses of the buff not 1 instance.

Gloria Victis has a cool system where you repair a piece of gear but it isn't quite what it was prior to the repair. And the more well made it is the longer it can be used prior to needing repair. And the more times it can be repaired and maintain its significance.

I'm trying to come up with a character backstory, and failing. Most likely our characters won't know where they came from, who they are, or why they are suddenly here in this world. (which could be totally wrong but hey, I'm trying)

so, when I RP, I will generally take one or two personality traits that I have, or want to have, and give them to my character, as a way to explore myself from the outside, so to speak

oh, and I'm on painkillers, so forgive my babbling about all this

my problem is that I can't figure out what character traits, other than friendly and helpful, would fit in palia, and that I want to explore

as I see it, there are 3 likely 'origins' for the humans in the game, Nobody knows where they came from, basically amnesia. They had lives before, somewhere else and POOF they are here and confused. They are the exact same humans that vanished thousands of years ago and POOF they are back, with or without memories of the lapsed time
