If PVE and PVP are optional... then it's not a game. As I've said before. Any game that isn't overtly PVP, is PVE. The two define your OPPOSITION not how you play the game. You seem to think that PVE means fighting MOBS... this is fundamentally incorrect. And while that is one kind of PVE, it is not even remotely an accurate definition of PVE as a whole.

PVE means player vs enviornment. In WoW that's mobs. But in subnautica, its the need for oxygen, warmth, and food.

In minecraft it's a mix.

Hell in minesweeper your opponent is MATH ITSELF.

You say that, but it takes a fair bit of code to make those things work. Odds are if you get stuck, there will either be no persistent character location after logout (meaning you always log in at the 'entrance') or a big honking teleport trigger under the map for if you fall off.

I think we have to have some trust in S6 to not pre-alpha a game that has a thousand holes in the world - from a studio of two it might be expected but from 50 I have to think some of them have spent some time walking around in the world

Now, I don't know how you would do it in UE4, since I haven't used UE before, but it's super easy to do a simple teleport caused by a trigger under the world in Unity.

C++ is more low level than C#, but moving an object is hardly difficult to achieve

2. Very likely. It's only been a week or so, so that roadmap will be revealed in time.
3. No. This is a normal timeframe for an MMO to be announced.
4. Clearly since the gameplay IS the entire appeal for the farming genre.

None of this is suspicious, you're just salty because they aren't somehow showing stuff as if they're 2 months out from launch.

The only one that I think I'd personally consider concerning is the timeline from announcement to alpha/folks playing it, but I think most of that is just a VERY large gap in expectations. Devs say soon, we think you'll be happy with how soon, etc...and the playerbase here on discord is thinking in terms of days vs devs thinking of weeks/months from now. I often thought it would be cool to have the concept of a "museum" where rare artifacts that are found could be displayed, and that would give certain benefits to the town (in this case, seems like a perfect setup!)

Of course a player might choose to keep the artifact they found to themselves, or trade/sell it to another town. But once it's in the museum, it's "protected".
