When do the Bundles in the bulletin refresh? I'm still waiting for the snowy pavilion recipe. I saw the update that developers were basically pushing the snowy umbrella out but I already had that one. Yesterday I received the snowy lawn.

The snowy Pavilion recipe is in the Kilima rummage pile, and comes after you have unlocked the cozy camp canopy. If you don't have this unlocked yet, this may be why you have not yet received the snowy Pavilion from the Kilima rummage pile.

Oh, and bundle boards refresh monthly with each patch, which the next one is due sometime in February.

You will get the Cozy Camp Canopy by purchasing the Cozy Camp Decor set from Subira's Elderwood store (in EW central stables). It costs 3k essence. Then, you'll craft the starter items to get inspo bubbles. The canopy will pop up on one of them. Once you unlock that, then the snowy Pavilion recipe will drop for you from the Kilima Rummage Pile

If you like playing in parties, essence parties are posted in #1445866314949202012 and #💬│lfg-chat sometimes! The 'easiest' way to get essence is to party up with a few people and stack your relics, as it will maximize the amount of essence on your collected loot!

Infected Essence can be obtained by hunting, fishing, foraging, and bug catching in Elderwood after completing part 4 of the quest: The Nature of Shadows.

Tips for Collecting Essence

• Upgrade your Relics to Tier IV as soon as possible!
• Party up! When in a party, Relic buffs are shared with other party members even if they do not have that Relic equipped. It is suggested that party members each equip different Relics in order to combine multiple effects.
• Drop a Honey Lure and catch as many infected critters as you can (ideally in a party). A4 on the map grid is reported to be a great spot for lures!

Im pretty sure with more paths in the future there will be more room slots to earn and they will constantly be adding new home lines as the game goes on buuuut its one of those things that is going to be over time so I dont think its something you should wait on to start building? They said they'd keep updating housing lines - more lines and refining the mechanic - but we don't know if that includes revisions or additions to individual lines. The lines do all work together functionally even if the alchemist and estate pieces don't all match in shape

Personally, i'm leaving home lines alone entirely until they have fixed the issue with window transparency . Once they have sorted that we should get some nice windows like the big conservatory style one on the side of Tamala's house that they said they want to put in. I have no idea when that will happen though so I could be pausing new builds for a long time to come.

My big question is if they will continue to release the homelines through the paths or through the City Hall, or come up with another way to offer them. It's gonna get confusing and disorganised pretty fast, though I do kinda prefer the homelines costing materials instead (personal opinion, at least).

Im not much into building/decorating so I havent played around with it much yet. Excided for things we might get in the future tho, maybe a whole line for like conservatory like addons when glass/wall hole moving is sorted, or a little line just for hallways/the little deck things where ur front door goes i forget the name/addon things that arent exactly room, I really like how they are approaching the housing with it being something that will constantly get new things/styles along the way. Makes it a bit rough at the begginging when there are few options but will be (I hope) awesome after a bit of time when we have a big collection to mix and match

I kinda like being able to earn things from all over in different ways, its pretty much our only way to express progression since in mmos its usually done with like... a 6 foot sword and shoulderpads that could be used as wrecking balls

The windows transparency thing isn't a bug, but a choice for performance and expediency. They're looking into potentially adding transparency to free placement windows, but there's a reason most other games don't do it so it may not happen.

I'm aware it is a design limitation rather than a bug. Most games don't have it but Palia is so heavily focused on building your house and earning things to put inside of it that it really needs to have customisable homes to the level of a game like the sims. Most games have buildings as set dressing and that's understandable. Your home in Palia is the center of your world so it's not the same. It's also not that the windows aren't transparent, they also have no lighting effects attached to them so all home lines look like basements

I think there's a definite tendency for some of us more seasoned players to forget that new players still need to get to the stage we're at - yes, we've maxed out on renown and have nothing to do with it (yet), yes, we're dangerously close to running out of plots to build on, yes, we have no reason to clear the EW rummage piles any more and yes, we've run out of quests but new players have yet to get there - if we're still keen to keep playing we have to hold on for updates

I'm going to put it out there that the server merge thing me and a couple friends definitely do not like. I think there should be an option to turn it off for those who actually like to play in smaller servers or alone with less lag and less people to be competing against for hunting/trying to photograph wildlife without the inconsiderate ones popping up in a merge and messing things up. All in all the merge function very negatively impacts my opinion of palia and I've been less active since it first started coming out. Just wanted to share my views, anyone is welcome to agree or disagree but I won't be active in this chat much.

The number of available servers automatically fluctuates based on how many people are playing the game at any given time. So I'm guessing that makes things a little more complicated?

I can't 100% say I've made up my mind on the server merge situation since it just got re-enabled and I haven't had any experience with the new system yet. And I don't know if all of what I'm about to say can be attributed to the server merge changes or potentially to other changes that have been made recently. But I've noticed that almost every server I enter lately is extremely busy, making my lag incredibly bad (I can only play on the Switch, unfortunately) and making it extremely difficult to do.. well.. anything. Sitting around waiting for stuff to respawn or server hopping because literally everything has already been taken as far as resources. For example yesterday I activated an ore compass and literally not one single thing popped up. Running into other hunting parties constantly. Bug hunting getting messed up because there are so many people running around that they run through and scare the bug. The super busy servers have been a nightmare for me, personally

Thankfully I have a partner who plays with me now and can help me out when my lag is getting completely ridiculous. But like I can't even hunt muujins solo anymore because of how bad my lag is, I need my partner (who has less lag on their gaming laptop) to shoot at them after I chop the trees because my lag makes it quite literally impossible to hunt them now

It also takes me so long to switch tools (because of the lag) that I quite often miss out on rares.

It just makes it all the more harder to rank up your skills. Especially if you are growning trees or have large farms for cooking and or just selling goodies. Watering each plant individually should give you at least some XP for the effort. Wasting arrows to take a deer down and it running away and you losing it before you can take it down should still give you XP. It's just sucha grindy system and you HAVE to do loot to get XP. And it shouldn't be like that.

Thank you for agreeing, and it would def. We romance most of the characters up to a certain point, but I honestly would love to see more interaction with them that's more personal to our characters. Something fun and unique. Even just something similar to pocky and/or giving stuff besides the heartdrop lily and box of chocolates. Heck even just a cool event to give out those two things and then at the end of the event we get like a cute themed furniture or plushie of the characters we romance would be neat. Just more things to do in Palia in general...as an avid player it is boring right now since I have all but a few to finish romance plus I've finished all of the main quests plus most of the side quests (that I know of at this point). These Lunar Passes and Bulletin Board stuff doesn't seem to be getting any better or fun atm. Just seems to be an incentive to log in every day - which is okay, but also not very 'cozy' imo.

I get why it is like that- things like mining or foraging are basically one action things. You arent going to partially mine a rock or partially cut a tree to get experience, you take the resource as part of the action. But for multi step parts, experience could get skewed if it awarded experience for each step. Assuming that's the impetus behind why it works the way it does but yeah if you're a "bad" hunter or fisher and you can never actually complete a hunt or hook a fish you never level up when you are doing the thing. And with farming it creates large gaps in level gain because of the crop waiting period.

I'm sorry you've experienced that, the whole "wait until 3 am" is just an etiquette/player made rule, it's just a courtesy. Some players take it too seriously, imo.

There's no need for antagonising others for that, you can just report players who are being rude and block them so you're not put on the same server.

Servers are expensive to maintain and if it's impacting the stability of the game in a meaningful way they cant just do nothing. Things that I feel like could help with this, or ways to help for the future:

1. Showing a timer until the server will need to close somewhere. Maybe on the Esc menu that pops up, like theyre doing for 'server age' next patch.
2. A way for users to be able to "select" a server, maybe? I know you can basically do that to sync with friends, but maybe a way to just do that so you can plan 'parties' and stuff with others. Dont even really need to have names, but maybe show a few that are 'new' that people can sync to, or in that middle ground of 'new' and 'old'..?

It would probably help clear out some of those servers too, that are 'old' and need to close, maybe?

I think the overall concept isnt a bad one...you dont want more servers then you need (they feel empty and you have to pay $$$$) but if you can't keep a party together in the transition that's just a flat out problem

Yeah they also, kind of acknowledge this in the post. It's a bit of a "necessary evil" while they work on ways to figure it out or something.

When this happens, as silly as it sounds, the only real solve is to reset that server - turn it off and back on. And without getting too deep on the tech, in Palia there are many instances of each map on the same machine, and sometimes even if your map isn’t experiencing issues there are other maps and players on the same machine that are. Server merging is a set of features we’ve developed to facilitate this and improve the quality of Palia overall.

In practice, for many players, moving servers doesn’t cause many issues, but for folks that are engaged in particular activities (e.g. cooking parties, big party Plush hunting) we know these merges can be a meaningful frustration. At the end of the day, we need to conduct these merges for the health of everyone playing Palia, but we also know we need to find better ways to help people that want to do these big group experiences. We don’t have anything to share yet on this front, but it’s an ongoing priority that we know we need to solve.

I suggested after the first implementation that they put a server shutdown clock on screen. Players will server hop on their own if that information is front and center imho. plenty of screen real estate, or even if they had a server shutdown clock that one could call up using hotkeys like having it present on the map screen all of the time.

On a serious note: I whom play on a Switch mind you have noticed, since they've been pushing these server merges; I cannot party up with my friends AT ALL anymore. Yea, chat and partying up has been wonky for a WHILE and so nothing new there, but at least eventually I could party up. And I understand the server merges, don't get me wrong. But, I think there is something interfering with the partying up mechanic. I/or my friends, make a party, invite, and immediately says it declined the party invite. OR, I make a party, instantly tells me I left the party. Basically it boots me from it. We tried all the 'workarounds' but to no avail. I can only speak from my experience (and don't have that much technical knowledge either) but at least on Old School Runescape, there would be a set number of servers, some dedicated to certain styles of gameplay (PVP, Ironman), so you could choose which server to join in. Though they were also, much larger in scale.

Oh and I forgot to add, OSRS has private servers now too. Since the servers are also categorised by country/region, you're recommended to select the world with the lowest ping. And you can hop to other friends servers (or worlds, as they call them).

i think there’s a lot of healthy discussions we can have around how much the game caters to long-term players vs. newer folks. from my perspective, the studio is in a hard place where it has to balance catering to both. things like the bundles i think were a way to address that — giving more difficult things for long term players to throw together. the bundles signal to me that they are looking for ways to do cater to both sets of players, it’s just a hard problem to solve, because longer term players may be able to throw together the massive amounts of furniture required, but newer players have to wait for the bundles to come back. i don’t think the initial comment was very fair to players because we all play the game in different ways, and i do think things like the bundles show they’re trying. just hard to make things where no matter your experience, you can feel included.

I have a bit of a split view on this, I definitely play more "solo" and understand those who prefer playing that way. But I also think if someone is primarily used to solo play, perhaps Palia might not be the best experience since some stuff really relies heavily on the "community" or multiplayer aspects.

It's kind of odd though, cause again, there's the whole "play how you want" but the game has been sort of increasingly adding activities that require partying up, while communities are also not quite fully fledged.

But like you've said, I certainly don't envy their position, I think most of these systems are always going to cause a divide and be very contentious points for players, since it is more subjective and everyone has different playstyles, and that's completely valid

I do believe, at least giving an option for different difficulty bundles, could help in that regard, as well for players who may have issues with skills that aren't too accessible (or are locked behind MSQ)

When I started "partying up" seemed at the heart of Palia but I always found myself getting better rewards when playing solo lol. I think it's easy enough to add random people in a party for a specific task and play solo the rest of the time that it's not really a problem for the "solo mainly" player. I can understand this, but for some players they genuinely just like being able to complete everything and some rewards are tied to finishing them, so it's understandable some are frustrated. Like with the RNG recipes that were an entirely solo activity, but were locked behind alot of RNG.

While I understand the comments about deforestation and the ire behind the snowy furniture, the reward track was completely able to be finished without doing parts you didn't enjoy with the daily progress. I only did one bundle (because I love cooking) and easily completed the reward track. Obviously I won't get as many kilima coins, but there will be more bundles later as well. I really appreciated that we had a lot of options for how we tackled that reward track without having to do the parts we don't personally enjoy.

as someone in a community genuinely the only thing we've used it for is to tell other community members when a plant they wanted from bloom is on whose server, and that to IF they are online, otherwise we ping in discord. so something really needs to be done there

Problem is that it just wasn't balanced, and some players don't have the time to do all the other activities. Iirc, someone did the experiment and it would get 10 days to finish the tracker without doing the bundles. I get your point, but it also didn't help players it wasn't explained in game afaik, and it still generated a lot of FOMO.

It's the harder bundle to complete imo (void ray, blue marlin, sushi recipe, giant goldfish, unicorn fish, radiant sunfish and I think flametongue ray) so players don't even get a reward now once they unlock it The others at least give the || Galder Statue, the Silverwing nest, and the Kitsuu rock garden || It'd be cool if they gave us a decor pond that acts like a cave pond or something

Yeah, the recipes should be your guaranteed next drop. If you don't have summer stripe umbrella, you'll get it next from the bahari and then the snowy "parsol" the next day. If you have the umbrella, the snowy one should be your next drop.

I think there's a loophole where if you have the recipe for a relic that uses the item, you can request it. So for the Black Pearl, if you have the recipe for Guiding Lanten IV, you should be able to request it.

Following up from yesterday's server fun. Again on the NA servers only today and I have not experienced one single merge .
