Quite frankly, this would be very silly (if true), considering a lot of people have just stopped playing on switch because of how unplayable it has become for them.

And this is also true, that it doesn't always and often actually rarely results in a response from S6. It's just the only thing I've seen result in any response from S6. They don't seem motivated by people quitting the game or stopping buying. They are at least potentially, minutely motivated by being loud as a collective.

Truth of it is, they will only start listening when they're completely in the red, by which point it might be too late.

Riot only partially listened to players after they were experiencing boycotts and financial losses. But even then, players also feel like the company was pushing the limits of what they could get away with.

I just don't understand why a company would try to wait on bug fixes, until a console/platform releases. It just doesn't make sense to me. That would just risk losing even more players when more bugs aren't fixed or even introduced. It would cause more issues than solving them.

Plus, then you would have to think about the bugs you currently have (and trying to fix) ontop of others that might appear on a new platform/console. it just. nah.

Important disclaimer: This is ultimately speculation and personal opinion.
But they do seem to be motivated by people stopping playing and stopping buying; but it feels like they have the mentality of "players don't understand what they want and what is best for them, we understand better, so we'll make our own conclusions on what will fix this".

The problem to me with just stopping is that it doesn't tell them why, which you pointed out. It's like not voting. It could just be any number of reasons and they're not exactly doing exit interviews to find out why. It's pretty clear from their focus on the premium shop in fact that they don't care why people have left and are focusing almost exclusively on whales they've retained.

IMHO even with the sales the prices are too high to justify in most cases 😔
I could theoretically buy a ZLC and get the full 30 days' worth of login coins and even then, still potentially be unable to afford one of the outfits I like... and even if I could, I still wouldn't because I'd be spending an entire month's worth of "loyalty" (that I have to pay for, on top of that) just to obtain a set I'd only use a single piece of, and have to repeat that 2 more times just to complete the outfit I actually wanted to wear

at the very least the outfits would need to be properly dyeable for me to consider the high prices.
If an outfit costs 3400 palia coins, I'd at least expect that I could select primary/secondary colors freely so I could mix and match the pieces with whatever outfits I liked. You know, same way you can select primary/secondary color of your hairstyle. but instead you only get 3 color options to choose from, and if you want 6 more you have to pay another full 3400 coins. :/

I meant decipher in the sense of actually knowing what is on sale. Right now, I'd have to either start up the game and go to the store, or dig up the wiki and hope there's pictures there of the sets to actually know what is on sale as there's only one of those outfits mentioned I somewhat remember what looks like. There's a fair few outfit sets in the store, and then each outfit set has a different name for each variant too. That quickly amounts to a lot of names.

They could have done something as simple as this, and then used the store page images to convey the visuals. It would contain all the same practical information. Obviously image I used is not accurate to the listed sets as I didn't bother booting up the game to get the correct ones, but it gets the point across. Could potentially add a bit of air to make it a tiny bit less dense, some minor formatting, but overall I think this would be just as effective if not more than the "shove as many emojis and adjectives into a post as we can" that we have now.

In paladins there was a mystery gifting system. It was dependant on rarity, so you could send a friend a rare, epic or legenday gift and they'd get a cosmetic of that rarity. Palia has no such tier system so it's a toss up at this point.

Back then I talked about an idea for some earnable skill-themed outfits, by reaching a certain level/milestone in said skill- and on reaching that point you'd get a letter from jel asking to visit him, where he'd present you with the outfit saying your hard work was inspiring, and also put that earned outfit on display on one of the mannequins, so it was like a nice reminder that you hit that milestone whenever you visited the shop

My biggest issue is that aside from that, there's no actual reward. The rewarding feeling in Palia is so fleeting that the absolute grindfest you have to endure doesn't feel worth it. I was lucky in getting some plushies on few attempts which also made me not want to bother after that

I think the longer I spend away from playing Palia, the more I realize that S6 might not necessarily be malicious in the way it designs content, but probably just very inexperienced and out of touch with what actually keeps players interested.

You never hear about anyone from S6 actually playing Palia as their main game or even at all.
Of course, S6's lack of communication is already a well-documented issue but that's an entirely different can of worms lol.

A lot of devs from other streams actually play their own game and even hold podcasts about it to show how super passionate they are about it. They even have Q&A's to answer player questions and concerns. S6 doesn't seem prepared for that in the slightest.

This is coming from my own bias, but the quality and quantity of updates leading up to Elderwood are less than impressive. Of course what I might want in Palia is going to differ than what other players may want. I never cared for plushies. I thought they were a cute decor gimmick for a bit but they ran with that joke way too long.

With how much S6 seems to champion the cutesie outfits, plushies and very heavily-feminine and youth themes my guess is that this game is starting to get catered more towards young women or people who identify as women; which is fine. They just end up alienating a lot of men and those who might be looking for a more rustic experience.

I could see this happening because the decor folks get huge views/much attention. From my perspective, that's one of main things that catches people's attention who don't play Palia, is someone's decor plot went briefly viral in the game socials.

You could very-well be right. Some of the plots people make are incredible. Palia has some of the best plot decorating out of any game hands-down. It's just a shame when those players who might be looking for something a little more to go along with the decorating find that the rest of the game's systems are only skin deep.

Even Palia's building system is lacking in a lot of areas tbh, though this might be my own personal bias as a Sims player. Some people are crazy talented and creative for sure, but I'd say that's also from them making the best with what we got.

Like, I'm all for doing fun glitches to achieve a certain vision but the game's building system is also so restrictive you have to rely on glitches for even placing doors indoors. Not to mention the fact some of those are very time consuming and not doable in all platforms.

This 100%. I remember having to use tricks like floating and ghosting to do what a free-placement system could fix. But for some reason S6 either doesn't have the resources or the motivation to make it happen even though they know that home decor is a major draw to their game. It makes no sense.

To be honest, the main reason that is the focus for (some, not all) folks, is because that's all that S6/Palia seems to add and have content for. It's hard to stream a game where the main focus and only thing to do, is decor and plot glitching.

This has been an issue sadly for a very long time, which is really a shame. I don't think-- at least, I never got the impression-- that Palia was supposed to be a decor game. I was expecting a lot more community things and stuff to do with others. but right now that's very lacking and not a focus... so it's hard to really.. for me, do much other than decor.

Heck, I'd love for a better system to build/decorate with friends. I get why they have it the way they do, but ... it still feels, erm... not complicated, but. a hassle, i guess? sorta?

Step 2: Make a monetization model that performs extremely poorly when players are leaving your game, and only covers most of the expenses when your game is doing well. And if it's a shop, make sure to make your premium currency packages uneven so that players have to buy the next biggest package while also telling them straight to their face that you're going to "Do better than other games." Also, make sure to charge so much for even your most modest outfits that your paying players can't afford to buy better games.

Step 3: If you get a bug report, make sure to only bring it up after there has been backlack from the community. The longer you wait to fix the bug, the more players are going to forget about it and go back to buying your premium store outfits; right?

Step 4: Find more ways to get players to spend money, then tell them you're doing it to make the game more equitable (See ZLC).

Step 5: If steps 1 through 4 fail, find an investor that is money-driven to buy your company and buy you some time to figure out what went wrong (See Daybreak).
