Upper management often shuffles off to another job easily enough. And/or they have a severence that covers them til they find something.
Yep, nobody's gonna care that Crabs sank this ship. Someone will hire him.
i don't mind losing the 10 dollars i gave to s6 as i don't mind supporting f2p or any type of game as long as i had fun with it. but once i did everything in palia, i had no reason to keep spending on something that i'm not interested in
now, nikki is a whole other story, 4 days into playing that and i was already shoving money in their faces
I’ve been seeing people say that
hope I can play it someday
if you can, highly recommend it if you're into that style of game play. i think i have teared up at least 4 times during the game (the first one is when i spent money on the first time)
Teared up because it's so pretty or because of the storyline? Genuine question
game/story moments, seriously if i had a nickle for meeting characters for five minutes and starting to tear up at their story i would have two nickles
can confirm. there's at least 1 or 2 characters/story moments that i can also say i paid attention to, and got emotional.
To be honest I like a couple of the skins currently on sale, but I don't trust the direction that the game is going at the moment enough to invest any more money into it. Having finished things like the other tints but refusing to give them to non-hacking players for seemingly no reason or skipping over "leaked" content like lettuce to build something new first like strawberries really irks me.
esp when the rng hates me on some of the plushies and I'm pretty sure I'll never get them. Soooooo, no real content with Elderwoods and I'm out.
I feel the same way. I personally don't think S6 has made any attempt to properly respond to player feedback and I haven't seen any progress in the game itself that has given me any hope. If I give them more money I feel like I'm telling them "great job, keep it up!" And uuh...that is not how I feel lol
I think that's the right response. If you're not happy with the game, we wouldn't expect or want you to spend. Hopefully over time we can make it a game you are happy with and then at that time we'd hope there's something that feels good to spend on.
Same. I'll throw money at a game that earns it. Palia has not earned it. And gods knows they've had enough time to do so. I'm tired of all the bugs not being fixed, not addressed, coming back. I'm tired of there being little to no communication. I'm tired of the repeated slaps in the face to the player base when we try to give feedback. This game could have been amazing. Might still if drastic steps are taken, but I don't see that happening.
The problem here is the "over time" mentality. You're running out of time already. Unless there is a drastic change made to how the game is developed soon, by the time it's in an acceptable state that warrants throwing money at the game (if it is ever capable of getting there) so many will have moved on from it.
I don't even want to login right now because I don't want to see my pavers after I worked so hard on making them pretty
Each update the last 6 months has been very minimal (assuming because Elderwoods), but even then its still super buggy, brings more issues than the update before. More and more red flags appear with each update, and even with players submitting feedback on major issues it goes on deaf ears until S6 decides to show up in the channel and actually read some of the issues people are talking bout. I doubt at this point the player feedback is used at all from them.
Hello! I was baking red velvet cupcakes and making cream cheese frosting. How can I Shelpp u today? 🧁 ✨
SighhHh
But they gave us ducks, kira!
I wonder what S6’s excuses will be after elderwoods. After the game is fully released. Then what
Eldererwoods.
Eldestwoods
Unfortunately they keep saying that they listen to it and the official forms are the best places to provide feedback and such. But it's kind of handy that the official forms are the one place where we, the community, can't gauge if there's any kind of reaction or attention from them to the feedback they receive, ain't it? At least in here it's easy to see when a comment or feedback has been cherry picked or straight up ignored... with the official forms we are running on pure "trust me bro" energy.
Elderwoods: Skyrim, the crossover that the people deserve.
Ooh cupcakes :o
We were talking about the Shepp program and I think the previous purpose of Shepps
Oh, I can answer that! It's a defunct program at the moment, but the primary purpose of it was to recognize kindness and helpful attitudes around the server back in the ye olde days of Palia's development. They aren't giving out the role anymore, but I would count many of the regulars here as Shepps, as I often see them lifting up others, answering questions, and general giving off good vibes and doing their best to help however they can.
And we submit feedback on the official forms, but 9 months later it takes mentioning it to a dev in DISCORD to get them to realize that they need to implement a workaround for the Paltech recipes
Oh they gave us the arcade back 😅
Thank you! First person that comes to mind here is Fern <3
Is Fern in the room with us

I don't think any player will argue that bugs need to be a priority, but that aside I am massively concerned with so many adjustments being made to crudely elongate gameplay by not just injecting frustration to so many facets it's becoming normalised, but also in the mechanics being added that seem to be in favour of pitting players against each other rather than inspiring them to work together. The balance is miles off where it needs to be. We've pushed back against this in the past, but the difference is we were still being heard then. there's a difference between a challenge and a fruitless effort. There's a difference between friendly competition and cutthroat survival of the fittest. That may seem extreme, but considering we can get that literally anywhere else, it's worth saying that's not why we showed up here.
Yeah, this. Something that has been a bad faith issue for MONTHS apparently got solved in minutes. Like, hello? That does NOT make me want to spend $$ on a game.
I said it many times, but a lot of us are hesitating to spend money on a game with a future that is, in its current trajectory, incredibly uncertain.
Bugs that are life threatening should be a priority when they have existed for months. It shouldnt take the devs hopping in one in a blue moon to cherrypick responses from a few communitity members to realize its an issue, because it obviously doesn't get to them through the player feedback.
they messed something up cause kilima is just a lag fest for me
and i crashed while trying to go to the underground. great
1 million percent! The accessibility issues are not being handled at all, but I gave WC a hard time about that last time so I thought I would shift gears.
Since a roadmap has been pushed to "around elderwoods release":
can we get any information about the planned order of the 2(?) major updates?
is elderwoods release planned before, after or "with" the console "ports"?
Exactly.
To be completely fair here, when it comes to bugs through official support, it actually requires the support team to not just brush everything off as user error and to properly escalate it. If they don't know about a bug that has been reported again and again, some of it could still be the consequence of the support team failing. We've seen that a lot already (i.e. how they brushed off reports about the Arcade Machine).
But then in turn it is still on S6 for choosing (assuming it is outsourced) the company who deals with support, and for S6 to have such blind trust that this keeps being allowed to happen over and over again, and for S6 to keep relying on them when knowing it does.
If it was the "pure virtual function being called" error message in the crash, it's been happening for a while and we've been having people report it. I'm guessing they'll fix it in a few months (or completely by accident).
Tbh, I think we need an update with no "new" content. I'd like to see one that gives us a couple harmless things (ahem TINTS), but mainly prioritizes bug fixes and long-requested accessibility functions- character and environmental VFX toggles (let me turn off player cosmetic affects), and the other things talked about in the accessibility channel. Will a lot of the accessibility channel affect me? No. But would it show a pivot to S6 caring and listening to its players needs? Yes, and that's the good faith I need to see.
i think lowering the price of cosmetics would be a start. you do realize that in some places, the prices soar up to a million for coins, right?
adding onto this: someone posted that zeki's club was 4 million in their countries currency. that is unrealistic for someone to pay for unless theyre a billionare and i dont think people with that much money are playing
And the responsibility still lies on S6 for providing them with whatever knowledge base they have to work from and with updated information each patch.
And the Underground is broken again. People are saying multiple crashes before successful access, which we've seen before.
I figure it's linked to the arcade machines again, but can't prove it.
This absolutely needs to happen before Elderwoods or this game is going to implode.
well im not about to do that again. im not playing til that's fixed. i once got so stuck i thought i would of been forced to get wiped like that one person cause i dont trust them to teleport me out like most support would
I hate when "Owls" answers my support tickets. "Potato" always seems to be on their A-game though with tone and willingness to actually ask intuitive questions about support issues.
i was just lucky enough to open my map and go home
I'm sure they'd love to give you that VFX toggle... if it existed.
At the end of the day; we've had more success with getting bugs recognized in the very short time there has been some S6 presence here by bombarding this Discord, than there has been for the last 6-9 months through "correct channels". And it shouldn't have to be like that, and there doesn't seem to be any indication that it is actually being addressed.
We will make it like the ducks and demand it into existence.
If that's the way to get it done then that's the way we should do it.
I love when I come to backread 200+ messages and get excited cause a dev finally acknowledged something
is another half condecending message about "spending money when we build a better game"
I'm going back to my tv show, yall keep the vibes going
Absolutely. Ngl, if the game is in such a bad shape that you have to make a point out of "spending money when we build a better game" then the game sure ain't ready to be in the wild and it ain't ready to have a cash shop at all.
yeah but nearly what 40 pets and 80 outfits?
The absolute freaking audacity of asking someone to spend $50 for an outfit while something as simple as the VFX TOGGLE doesn't exist.
Maybe if they used an in game survey, as many other games do, to receive and gather data on actual feedback rather than outsourcing it they would have better knowledge of how many the issues the game actually has.
I wrote em all down and did the math and then they came out with more stuff so
Why? So Crabs could use it as toilet paper like he apparently does everything that goes into the feedback form?
The fact this game is already in Sims4 levels of monetization yet has only been in existence for a fraction of time is very much... Something. I will forever be against EAs monetization practices with TS4 but at least that games been in existence for 10 years, meanwhile Palia has been live for maybe less than 2 years? And already is in the thousands in monetization.
I rarely spend $50 on an entire freakin game. I aint spending that on an outfit, esp one that doesn't even fit the lore of the game.
Ingame survey would be good... but the assumption has to be that it doesn't end up in the same trash bin that the feedback from the current feedback links they have. If so, it doesn't matter where the survey is.
Also you at least get more out of buying a Sims pack. >>;
Exactly. Why would I pay these prices when I can spend money on games that bring me actual joy instead of gaslighting me every time I turn around.
At least the Sims has content and replayability. We can't even replay on our accounts without wiping everything.
and the fact conversion rates are so messed up, people cant pay thousand of dollars for ONE pack of coins. that's not something you should be asking the adverage person.
i know they said theyd be adding it, then didnt and edited out of the patch notes. really infuriating.
Doesn't the conversion rate for Chilean Pesos come out to like $4000 USD for the $99.99 coin pack? But you don't see Crabs commenting on that screw up.
hold up what
And AT LEAST they have some bundles and decent sales
not to mention they have actually given some kits FOR FREE (for a limited time sure but STILL)
Because outsourcing it obviously isnt the answer if the only way things get addressed are through the discord? Unless they just want to use the discussion channels as they have been and taking the info from us to use as actual feedback they need more of a presence here, rather than running away the moment it gets crazy.
Who said it was a screw up?
i think so. this has probablybeen a thing since the beginning but they havent fixed it
#💬│palia-discussions message Do the conversion for 4 million CLP to USD.
The feedback form supposedly goes straight to S6, not to support.
Thank god I deleted
Side note if you try to delete palia you have to do it manually
and to bring this to your attention, in CLP, coins go up to 4 million and so does zeki's club. do you expect someone to pay 4 million for virtual coins? this has got to be fixed.
I highly doubt that lmaoooo probably some intern told to trash most of the emails
And to get it all, you have to do registry edits or it leaves stuff inside your PC like a virus or something.
it takes so darn long i hated it

Oh, I'm sure it is 100% ignored. I'm just saying that the ignoring falls on S6 instead of whatever company does support.
Well, it's a google form, so it goes to some google account that no one at S6 ever checks. I'm just saying, it's all on S6 and that Support isn't responsible for it.
Sorry the timing was to good
My internet dipped and now I have no idea what's happening anymore.
Basically the same thing that happens in discussions every day. We're rioting and WizardCrab is somewhere cackling maniacally. Probably.
So you do work for S6 after all! And I thought we were friends!
I feel like this channel has at least awarded him a few grey hairs.
I knew you knew too much!
I hope this channel has awarded him an ulcer.
I hope he talks about this channel in therapy.
Much like S6 has done to us. I guess we're even then.
Theres no way it goes to s6 with the amount of bug reports I've sent in as well as others, that the issues people have brought up never got addressed until S6 showed up in the channel to discuss with people. Even though they had been reported for months.
PARDON
dang y'all are mean rn lol
My tolerance for gaslighting @sshats is at an all time low right now
What did I come back to-
I'm not talking about the bug reports. I'm talking specifically about the feedback form. Bug reports definitely aren't getting passed on properly, but I blame S6 for not properly training whatever company they outsource to.
WC stuck his head in here, made an asinine gaslighting comment and bailed
I feel so betrayed!
Regardless of where feedback/support forms get submitted, I think if S6 truly cared about the feedback being provided they would find a way to access it.
You know - the usual
it should of been accessable from the beginning really
Exactly, the fact that it wasn't speaks volumes.
This is definitely not the meanest I have ever been about Crabs.
I already have ulcers, I don't really wish that on anyone tbh
We need another community manager, but that's like hiring a willing punching bag they take so much crap from players.
Oh I saw that earlier! “We’d hope there’s something that feels good to spend on”
And I can get way meaner. I mean just say the word and I'll make WC hide under his desk and cry.
That seems perfectly legitimate in every way! Send me your address! /j
While I absolutely agree that feedback barely seems to be read at all or taken seriously, there is a difference between the feedback form and support requests. Feedback form supposedly (important to highlight that word) goes to S6 directly, support goes through a support team that is likely outsourced.
But again, end of the day, it shouldn't matter. The fact is neither reaches them the way it should, and whether directly or indirectly they are responsible for ignoring us.
From players and probably S6 management too
I won't repeat what I said last time since it wrongfully got someone else warned, but I made him real uncomfy
My response was to grey hairs and not ulcers.
I have 30+ years of dealing with drunk adults. I can make sober ones cry and run away.
That automatically qualifies you to wrangle toddlers as well.
I feel like players would rally around a cm. Give them space since it isn't their fault and taking on the job for s6. Let them take baby steps and the players hopefully would be kind and respect to them since a new cm can not fix everything in a day and there is alot to be done. Giving them space to understand the community would be nice and not scaring them away on their first day
If I were Crabs,, I wouldn't be able to show my face here sober.
JFC, no spawns. Ever. There is a reason I bartend in casinos.
I don't think a CM is going to help anything here at this point. And hiring one as it seems S6 is trying to do, rather than a team of 5+, is cruel to whoever they hire.
i just realized what this said and if you want to DM me to understand better then go ahead.
but to say this when the cosmetics are costing up to $50 for some in other regions, and when nearly all the outfits dont fit the lore of the world, and dont get me started on the cloud "pet" that was released. but if you want ppl to feel good about spending their money, you guys have to start making more lore friendly outfits and price them fairly.
Do you work in a bar? you sound like me
Although I've bartended in hotels before and when those things acted up, I just broke out my old lifeguard voice and would yell from the bar and scare the front desk staff
But if the zombie apocalypse comes we know who to call to babysit!
I do!
Well, I guess it's only a matter of time until S6 stops communicating again. Their actions created an atmosphere of distrust and anger with their lack of respect for their player base, and now that they get to experience first hand the atmosphere they themselves have fostered and nourished they'll probably go into hiding again because "we are too angry and it is 'functionally unproductive' to talk to us". In other words, I doubt we'll ever see them take real responsibility.
Crabs already said he wouldn't bother communicating with us if we can't trust him, so he's probably done with us for good.
but but but.. riot is selling 500$ skins, 50$ can't be too much, right? /s
Not me! lol Unless it's to babysit puppers and kitties. Those I'll be around all day, every day.
I think the majority of folks that tend to hang around in the various channels here would mostly be understanding, but the way the channels explode on update days or when things go wonky that's when poo hits the fan. It takes a lot of patience to deal with servers of this size.
Honestly, at this point it sounds more like they are looking to hire a scapegoat. Someone to throw under the bus on their behalf.
Well, Crabs did work for Riot. Obviously thinks he's still there.
Did someone point out trust is EARNED and he hasn't done jackall to earn ours back?
Very true but sadly s6 abandoned the discord and without a cm to provide better communication it's kinda a stand still around here.
Nothing can fix the damage sadly... S6 abandon things for far to long... We are lucky to have community members who stood up and helped players for free without even a thank you from s6 it's the only reason the game survived
Exactly, and it just makes me more upset.
Designated cat herder and pup patrol then! I'll put you on the list!
I see we're being lively in here (ilu all)
I know, hence me paraphrasing with the 'functionally unproductive' comment.
Hahahahah, funny story, my cats herd me at dinner time. One runs in front of me and the other behind me to make sure I get their food dishes to the kitchen and back to their room again without delay.
They are natural supervisors.
Especially where noms and churus are involved! lol
I deeply regret helping so many people make this barely functional game function. It would have crashed and burned long ago without all the free tech support they've gotten from so many. Does anyone remember what an absolute dumpster fire tech-help was for the first several months when support was taking 6+ weeks to even bother responding?
We can only duct (duck 🦆 ) tape this game together so well for so long. And it's just getting harder and harder as times goes on.
change it back
I'm watching the chat and my show rn like that cross eyes meme of SpongeBob
i've been here for a long time, can't remember this channel to get that.. spicy.
but thats just what they get for ignoring over a year of pretty respectful, adult, constructive feedback.
grabs some popcorn
While WC did say they were interviewing for the position, I worry about the way it was said. Could easily be read as only one CM slot being filled, and watching Ashe at the end after the others were gone was heartbreaking. And that's just what we could see. Imagine what was going on behind closed doors having to do the work of so many people and then be thanklessly laid off as well. This is not a one person job. I would argue 5 CMs minimum considering how much the playerbase has expanded.
I hope so. A fresh CM coming in here don't really deserve being piled on straight away.
What I fear is that a good part of the reason they are taking so long to hire someone is that they are trying to find people who have the same mentalities as what we already see them bring in here. You know, a CM that'll just go "maybe you'll spend money when we've made a better game" or "purely functionally it isn't useful listening to people that don't trust us".
Agreed. Four was not enough when we had them. And it was very obvious how much was slipping through the cracks as each one left.
Also someone mentioned surveys and I'm just. thinking of Nikki again. They send out surveys after each patch (at LEAST) asking for a whole load of different feedback. and guess what
they implemented some of those things. one example was a lot of people putting in that collectibles weren't respawning at daily reset which was throwing off schedules and making things more difficult, and not too long after, they changed it!
and like, they just dropped this today, S6 could NEVER. all the "so we heard your feedback on this, this is our response, and what we're doing. also here's what we screwed up on, what we're gonna fix in the future. also we're not gonna hold all the cool stuff close to our chest, look at these previews of QoL updates/new incoming features!"
Not only that, but they reward us for responding to those surveys.
exactly!!
at this point, when elderwoods releases the game might as well go into maintenance mode really
And I hardly expect any new person in that role to be properly advised on how much work it will be and then be properly compensated for that work, which means that role is going to sit empty for some time.
I think this is super important and I would not personally hang my hopes on an CM changing anything when having 4 didn't
Star Rail does the same thing too, in game surveys with some compensation.
That’ll be S6’s excuse. “Elderwoods just came out so we have to fix everything else and that’s why the game is broken”
Planet Crafter did that too. I didn't want multiplayer, but so many people did (it doesn't fit the lore, but I digress) and they found a way to make it happen. People like myself wanted more decor items, and they made that happen. 80% of the dev time was jsut with TWO people, now I think their team is 5-6, but still. THEY LISTENED. Hotfixes and patches happen almost immediately after new content gets launched, not a month later. If they had paid stuff, I'd be flinging $$ at them.
All anyone who applies for the position has to do is take a peek in here to realize just how much S6 can not afford to pay them what they deserve.
Yeah, if the communication that reaches a new CM hire is anything like how internal communication otherwise seems to be, they're gonna be woefully under-prepared for the task here.
Once human also has a similar feature, you get some rewards for filling out surveys so I think it would be a nice addition especially if it actually got used and properly addressed the things people mentioned in said survey.
casually comes in to say "planet crafter my beloved" and waddles out
Also ironic that both of those games are gachas, which goes to show you can both seek to profit while listening to your audience, because after all, you're relying on them to make profit.
I just started another play through, lol
They actually pushed a lot of action in regards to changes and fixes. We've just been without them for so long now it feels like it wasn't real.
i really wonder what javson does tbh. i see him online a lot but... ive never seen him talk
honestly I'll never understand S6's strategy of refusing to give previews or properly hype people up
instead their hype is just the vaguest stuff people have no choice to make assumptions about, then
when it's nothing like they hoped it'd be and they're not happy
I think they see it as managing expectations, but it's not effective the way it's being done.
Exactly. There's a balance to be had, and they've been veering too hard on the side of "hide everything"
funny thing that it seems like Elderwood broke a lot of stuff already
and at that point people are going to just expect the wrong things
Except with that hint about not wanting to "cloud our judgment" ending up being a literal cloud pet.
https://tenor.com/view/the-amazing-world-of-gumball-gif-24277345 the pet in game be like
Their judgement was clearly clouded.
I know the aesthetics are annoying people with that cloud pet, but I have to clearly state my steadfast opinion...
They looked into the eyes of that abomination and it did something to their brains...
still can't look at that thing and not want to stare into the void
When you stare into the abyss for too long, the cloud fart will stare back /j
im gonna predict it now. elderwoods doesnt look nearly as amazing as the concept art, looks bland and navigating it will be rough. teleport boards will be bugged and may put you in the ground or up in the sky randomly. lots of crashed, bugs relating to the new hunting creatures and no new storage expansion so we still gotta clean our stuff out to make room for the new stuff.
and if new crops are added? rearrange gardens again while trying to figure out what they even do
Muujin space program will probably expand to all new huntables.
No added crop plots nor the decor limited raised, and trees and such will still be universal drags on all plots.
iirc
"Head of Publishing leading brand, digital, social media, PR, community, CRM, creator marketing, and partnerships."
I swear to all the gods, WoW better not eff up this housing we've got coming. Because if it's decent, I'll never load Palia again.
Ugh I didn’t even think about the limited storage/soil for new materials/crops
Which brings me again to wondering why they don't let him communicate with the community rather than the Chief Revenue Officer who is worse at communicating with the community than he is at monetization... and that's saying a lot.
Actually, there probably will be new storage expansion, but then they've made an error with tags so you can't actually place it anywhere and thus not use it, and they don't notice the bug until they pop into discord two months later, then take one month to fix it, then the fix is in validation stages for the next two months before you get it five months after release.
honestly i have a lot of trust in WoW to not mess up the housing system, esp since there will be neighborhoods and all. id absolutely get back into playing if i can access it even if i dont have the expansion
Hopefully they learned from how badly garrisons went (and know enough to keep Ion far the eff away from any decision making about it)
You mean the void that they promised us was fixed and then... wasn't?
I need this every time I see the cloud
same. i liked getting herbs and ore easily but id like it to feel more organic when i have a house
Guess its time to adjust my username, since that's how we get things done
I hope there isn't a gathering area, tbh. Give me a house I can decorate, maybe stables/battle pet area, and a decorative garden but not profession ingredients. I'd rather they focus on using what's already out in the world to craft the stuff.
~~.....it looked at me first ~~
FERN?????
jfc that reaction emote, Fern
Updated mine too, lol
Ok thank goodness it wasnt an emote Fern made on the fly just for the void discussion
The main issue with new CMs is that they're going to have to catch up on a LOT, much like we have to give Appy the "lore" of issues everytime he pops in. And a CM will likely come in with little prior experience (though I hope not)
Also, yall did it. I'm downloading Infinity Nikki so that I can pet critters and housebuild when thats implemented
I don't think an experienced CM would want the job.
Ngl I had to do a double take
Yesssss. Nikki actually has chickens and you can pet them. Unlike invisible Pekis.
The void screams back.
hope you find it enjoyable
Berret chickens! 😄
while it was a banner pull the midnight vigil where after you petted the floofs they would follow you
Who wouldn't love this face? S6 could never.
I didn't pull for that one because I wanted the Dance til Dawn, but hopefully it comes around again.
Oh gosh, All I can see is the bug-eyed chickens from Coral Island.
I love them. Hopefully Nikki soon fulfills my dreams of being a crazy chicken lady on my little housing island as well as irl.

i love this

They need to hire 3-5, with full corporate support and a defined, consistent information pipeline between them and the various arms of the company making the game (and between them and the users, frankly; I'd like to see more consistency in communication instead of having to collect new data from 60 different sources or hope I'm around when a dev is speaking).
Unless S6 fixed the fundamental issues in their siloed process I don't see how a CM is going to be anything more then you could automate with 'I'll look into' replies. So hopefully there's been some big changes behind the scenes to better support the community and feedback and triage issues
I want to trust the words but there is no duck in the name, which I find suspicious! 😆 💙
I wouldn't trust me either. I'm only ever potentially telling the truth, after all.
I definitely agree that they need to hire more than 1. With the size of the server and amount of constant feedback regular and even new players give, even 5 may not be enough honestly. ... but they'd all need to work together and be on the same page when presenting ideas and issues to the team.
They had a good team. They destroyed that team when they should have been adding to it.
A bunch for here. Plus some to manage different social communities.
Yeah, that's where they keep breaking (without even getting into the actual breaks in the code). Evne when they had a community team, it lacked synergy with the rest of the company. Lots of moving parts in any sort of game - even more when it's a game all about feelings. That takes a lot of careful coordination and communication, and no amount of CMs can fix that. It has to be a company priority and not an afterthought.
I'm just going to say from my person experience this didn't seem to be the case and they were frequently out of the loop or never followed up. Unless you were in the partner program you never heard from them
Obviously not a priority with how siloed the company is. We had already heard that from Glassdoor reviews, but it's definitely been held up when appy comes in and doesn't know... basically anything going on in the game.
They were probably given many hush orders on most topics, but they tried. It seemed like they did send on concerns, but were limited in their replies because of their bosses.
That's not to blame them of course it just feels like they start set up to fail
Sadly, it does currently look like a 'trying to drink soup with a fork' situation. May they choose the spoon in 2025. Success will require big changes.
It really felt like the CMs got overwhelmed as soon as S6 rushed into beta. The community grew exponentially and they were not prepared.
Still are!
You missed the magic that were Amelia and GingerbreadWitch. But I'm glad they got out before S6 threw them out on their butts.
I haven't even seen Amelia in game since she left.
I don't blame her honestly.
Me either. She said she'd be around but I'm guessing like most of the players, she found greener pastures.
That big void we've all been shouting into? That's the hole where they used to be. They were our voice and our advocates. And they were also really fun!
It may please you to know that the former CMs are alive and well, but I almost don't think S6 deserves new ones yet. Like I said a bit earlier, it's kind of a moot job to have with the way things are currently run. They have to improve first before someone gets subjected to the pressure of the role, and unfortunately they have a lot of bridges to unburn with players, too.
You say this as I'm playing in ancient pastures since the Sims 2 was "fixed" to work on new systems.
Part of me wonders if CMs might be the way for S6 to recover. A handful of people to organise all of this feedback that's been piling up for a year and present it in a digestible way.
It's so optimistic of you to assume they want to digest it.
That was the voice in my head adding "if anyone is willing to listen"
lmao felt
at least there's not another condescending message from S6 sprinkled in here... yet
Recovery's possible, it just bears acknowledging reality instead of simply keeping on and hoping for a different result.
If only the devs would all come in here and hang out and listen to us and ignore management. Wouldn't do anything about the asinine monetization policies, but at least some bugs might get fixed.
there was 2? or i think 3 that would bounce around channels, one was decore related and i forget what the other one was idk if its cuz their busy that they dont know or if things changed until they get a cm
something tells me they don't have time to come in here. After the purge they were all probably given the work of the 150+ people that were booted
Well, the one that used to hang out in decor and take all that feedback...was let go.
I can do a fake one, just for u
Roses are Red
Palia's Free
If your feedback is critical
No talka me
ah that would do it :<
at this point might as well send feedback to daybreak at this point
they have to know how disconnected s6 is from the community at this point, right?
I assume you were talking about Zeeliah anyway. They were very good about taking feedback around decor things and were also responsible for the design of a lot of the wallpapers.
yea that was one of the devs i meant there was another but its probably the same thing
If your only test of this involves statistics and your diversionary tactics are showing an uptick in engagement, you don't see any problem. And that's the problem.
Probably. Seems like most of the people who were willing to communicate and take our input got the axe.
welp, they are pushing "console release & content update" to their shareholders, soo, yeah maybe after that..
Console release is the worst idea.
especially when you have ps5 competition in Nikki
i think it would benefit them (like with sky children, nikki etc their on consoles too) but not in this current state
It isn't to the investors.
overall? no.
in the current state? welp, have fun supporting/fixing even more bugs
It's still not stable on PC. And there's absolutely nothing that player to player help can do to help with console issues, so it all has to go through their completely inept support team. This game is not ready for console. Wasn't ready for Switch. Still should be in closed beta.
I'll say it again, I do not want to see this game turn into the Sims 4. EA conditioned an entire generation to be grateful for broken content at premium prices and 90something packs later people are finally calling them on it.
I think S6 fails to understand that they are getting an increasing amount of competition too. I'm sure we could discuss whether Palia is unique or not, but even if we were to agree it is, it shares its player base with more and more games that are arriving later and quickly surpassing it.
Sometimes more is not more. Sometimes more is just more of less.
It's only a matter of time before someone makes a cozy MMO that's actually an MMO.
I know, and it only will get worse. Thats why asked Mr. Crabs, whats their planned release "order" / schedule.
Imagine them releasing Console and Elderwoods at the same time.
Both will introduce more than enough bugs for 6+ months. and that doesnt include the bugs which exists since beta start.
hek even wow is gettin into the decor space
And it sounds like that's their plan. Repeat of the Switch release where they dumped a bug ridden patch and then went on "break" for over a month.
i can see why that would be a little secretive, but its been brought up many tiems a roadmap of sorts would be great to see
And a free potato pod! (Probably. That seems to be the thing these days.)
No. It'll be a sticker now.
A Potato Pod Sticker.
and don't forget the sticker pack!
Can't afford to be sorry in Palia!
I don't even see how they can be thinking about a 1.0 release when they've only just finished the prolouge. Unless elderwoods is the whole rest of the story and then... uh... that's sad lmao
The crap about
Hopefully over time we can make it a game you are happy with and then at that time we'd hope there's something that feels good to spend on.
How delusional does he have to be to think they have time?
Indeed. Even so, looking at their competition, and the games that people moved to from Palia it seems that the most important aspect to people isn't even that it is an MMO. Their competition either in cozy and in decor (or a combination of both)... which is something we're getting more and more of.
the switch release sucked, but I still have to give em at least the doubt, that they didn't plan on releasing that early.
On the other hand, i can't understand how they were out of money, if they didn't plan to release before switch 2's release.
Unreal 5 on a Switch is basically doa, sure it sucks even more than it should, but you'll never get performance out of a UE5 game on switch that I'd personally call playable. [opinions may differ here, but I can't call a upscaled, smeary 30fps game playable]
its the next chapter i'd think not just the whole story, but we will only see where it goes from there
It obviously doesn't have to be an MMO since this is just a single player game with other players to take the place of background NPCs.
i wonder how happy the people are that got silently shut out of the game over a year ago with no acknowledgement. Hope they found somewhere nice to go.
I was thinking the same thing. Wondering if they’ll rush the “ending” if elderwoods is the end of the main story.
yeah but 1 and 1/2 chapters is hardly a game ready for full release, especially considering the absolute state of the game itself
this is exactly what I'm thinking/afraid of
mhm which is why i hope its not just the forest area we get, that theres another zone to explore -_-
If you're playing handheld, you're not even getting that level of "playability" out of it most of the time.
I'd like to think they found somewhere nice to play. S6 still hasn't said anything about the update that was supposed to streamline the game for people with slightly older hardware and instead locked them out of the game without warning.
well, thats best case for the current switch hardware, so obviously, palia won't hit that
An "over time" comment would have been more appropriate in 2023. At this point, it's just more condescending tripe from Crabs.
I'm talking players. I have a friend who still comes over now and then to log into her account. Her PC runs some games better than mine. But she got locked out.
Building up this big story to be like.. and they all lived happily ever after - the end
my sis cant even play hers, she's waitin for elderwoods though to see if she wants to keep playing on the switch
"and we never found out what brought the humans back... but their here to stay"
once housing comes to nikki it's going to be hard for palia to get into the ps5 scene
There's a lot of competition on the horizon. All these upcoming games have to do is not make the same mistakes and they will own the cozy gaming space.
i dont think it will be, but it will definatly be a hit or miss with ppl
The thing I simply cannot understand is why didn't they actually develop this game for switch first, pc 2nd.
It's pretty obvious that the target groups of palia and switch have a huge overlap, no?
Nintendo didn't get involved until development was well underway for pc
well, that was still their choice.
If you know you create this game, you should also know that your players are likely Nintendo/Switch players.
What’s up with the humans living in a magical world where we cannot use magic. I get that there’s “lore” around it for this game, but come on. In video games that have magic, I want to be able to use magic

I mean tbh the beta not even being told to switch users is icky, I was basically like "huh, thats an odd version number" until I came to discord
i hope we learn if from an npc ><
is there anything which tries to hit the same spot palia originally intended?
Hard to name it exactly, i'd guess 'Cozy MMO'. (Pretty crazy that both doesn't really apply to palia anymore)
I have a lot of thoughts on that, but I've said them so many times at this point. Things are messy. Unless there are contracts preventing it, things could still get unmessified, but it has to involve big changes rtfn
literally (look at the dates)
i think thats not right.
it was 2 weeks of closed beta, before that Alpha, idk how long NDA stuff, no one ever said it.
Iam pretty sure after closed beta we had months of closed beta on PC before switch released.
wow that just... makes everything worse
switch was released in december '23, i should know, i quit my job and palia was my go to game that month when it released
no it says the same thing, closed beta, after that PC release
it was OPEN beta starting August 10th, not closed. Closed beta only lasted 8 days, from the 2nd to the 10th.
Open = anyone can join, closed = you need an invite
Nothing I've been exposed to so far. Some things that touch on some aspects, but Palia was really unique and that's why some of us have been hanging around here for many years. We believed in the things S6 (at the time) wanted. They believed in the feedback we gave them. And then it all changed very suddenly when Nintendo entered the picture.
yeah, closed -> open (pc) -> switch
Why couldn’t Suburu be the one to teach us magic
||cuz its going to be tamala||
And let's not forget that when they did their first "tech test" before closed beta, the servers just... shut down immediately and they couldn't get them back up for the duration of that test. That should have been the first sign that the game was not ready
you said we had months of closed beta on PC, we didn't. we had 8 days of closed beta on PC and then months of open beta only on PC

ah lol, fumbled that up.
"after closed beta we had months of closed beta"
.. meant months of open beta, its almost 4 am here 😂
correct me if i'm wrong, but weren't they somewhat proud that people were able to break the servers?
No, Switch release was definitely December 2023.
I started Palia Dec 2023 when it came out on switch :o
Yeah... It was... something.
Some nonsense about how the point of testing is to break things so they can be fixed ... that did not age well...
Because they were stress testing for bigger volumes and wanted to know what to expect.
Ohh! I think they announced the switch release in August 2023. Maybe that’s what you found?
no worries, just wanted to make sure everything was clear!
its easy not to think about this stuff when you arent trained in accessiblity or dont have an accessiblity advisor
Kinda sad.
Yeah the uniqueness is the only reason I still look into this Discord every few months.
But at this point everything that remotely felt like it could get to the point of being an MMO basically vanished.
It feels more like playing an single player game with slightly more advanced npcs.
There was this weird progression. Have you ever had a friend in a nasty relationship? It was like watching that happen, only it was the staff we used to hang with every day for years slowly growing more and more distant, and the path of the game shifting from wanting to try and make something different and chill, to suddenly pushing things out half-baked to meet strange deadlines, bugs being backburnered in favour of unnecessary changes, more and more platform releases bringing in floods of people the game wasn't ready to support, delaying bug fixes further to work on more deadlined things we never asked for, and trying to play catch-up after coming to the harsh realisation that all of those thousands of new players were speedrunning the game's content in record time. So they respond with a worsening economy, a massive increase in grind, and no doubt harsher tweaks to rng. All to slow us down. All to hold us back. And then they stripped the staff down to a reported 36 people and sold off the company, hurling any hope of catching up out the window. This sounds like a pessimistic retelling of events, but it's actually generous in many ways. Because all of this still sounds like just some lousy decisions. They can bounce back if they want to. Even now. But what they've been doing is not working.
cuz the VFX toggle never existed to begin with. cake lie.
ez hire only devs with accessibility needs (/j about "only")
(it does help to have some available for questions though!)
And now they wave plushies in front of us to keep us busy, because as soon as they realised we kind of like collecting things, that was their ticket to dangling the carrot. Keep us busy. Keep us distracted.
That's my rant of the month.
Only here since open beta start, I can’t relate to the start of that story, but it seems like they had good intentions at the start / alpha(?).
Well, had a good few hundred hours of gameplay, even if it got a lot worse over time. Guess I am gonna try elderwoods and if it doesn’t get better Ill just give up on any kind of cozy mmo. Which properly is the saddest part of this story, since a failed game just makes it even more unlikely other studios will try to build what Palia could have been.
another rng fest is "content" to them
Elderwoods is going to be the deciding factor for a lot of players, myself included. I just can't go down with the ship on this one. I've invested a lot of hope and years into this project, and I've been mentally preparing myself to let go. If they can't pull themselves off this path I just can't stick around to watch how bad it gets before the end.
The joy has been in all the efforts to make this game something different. The sorrow has been in all the ways it became the same.
Palia had an amazing concept, poor execution. There were so many missed opportunities in this game, it's heartbreaking. If they would have just slowed down, stayed away from the switch entirely until either the pc version was stable or for the switch 2 release, even if cozy games are big on the switch, and just listened to what players are saying instead of just hearing what they say, this game could have gone far
Which is another big problem for them.
There is no way elderwoods will be (good) enough to fulfill the expectations of players.
Even if it somehow is a great additional zone, there’s not that much content in a zone. Even if they add some new mechanic/skill for it, there’s also not that much content in it.
With the amount of players waiting for it, and coming back for it, I simply cannot see how it should uphold to the expectations.
oh people are going to speedrun it with a vengeance!
The PalTech set taught me not to speedrun new content. rip lamp and radio
Expectations are the worst thing for every game.
Everyone hated on Cyberpunks release. I played it on release day, didn’t know anything about it other than „that game will be enough to test my new hardware“. To this day, it was one of the best releases of the last years imo. Didn’t have any expectations, got a overall good game. - That was very different for everyone who saw the years of promotion and delays.
Perfect example of what happens when you push things out half-baked just to meet a deadline made up by Dave in Marketing.
Well; or you can’t speed run it because its an rng fest and feels like gambling would be a better investment of time and money.
And i am actually kind of scared of that.
Ah that makes sense /gen
S6 throwing in all this rng stuff so that players will still have “something to do” after they speed run the alleged content
The rng in Palia actually makes me want nothing to do with anything using that mechanic. I don't like fishing because of it. I don't like the prize wheel because of it. I give zero ducks about stickers. I have adapted to a game that discourages me from goals by making those goals unobtainable if I do not yield to the blatant disrespect of my time and effort. That is exactly zero cozies.
Even the twitch drops disrespect my time.
I do the Twitch drops, but I just mute the tab and shove it behind what I'm actually doing in browser, and just let the timers run.
I get to have a job and a life outside of this game, and that is why I've been playing for the entire duration of the game, and I still to this day do nothing but grind in hopes of building a nice house. And I still don't have a nice house.
honestly, the only way to do twitch drops
But look, I have stickers. So I guess all those hours are fine.
I still remember when S6 gave out worms for Twitch drops
can't have a nice house anyways with the 3000 item limit and the bugged trees that were there when you got your plot, not in your building area and still count towards your total
Agreed. No offense to any of the streamers, but I'm either going to play or do something else, not going to watch someone else play.
I sound old. but I kinda am.
This bot…
Not going into overtime on my monthly rant I swear. Just grumpy that we were also told early on that casual gamers were not going to be punished for not no-lifing Palia.
Feeling kind of punished. Might delete later.
i get frustrated when i watch people play games since i want to see the other character that looks cooler than the one you're traveling with. it's literally how i've bought some of my games that i would have said not my thing in the past (fallout 4, skyrim, red dead redemption 2 all bought because of people playing them)
As well as the crafters and certain decoration items
and honestly to me, fallout 4 is far more cozy than palia
Thr road to h3ll is paved with good intentions
I dont even have problems with grinding, its definitely not what I expect from palia but on top of thst the way you are supposed to grind is absurd.
Everything is locked behind specific intervals in a 60 minute ingame day.
Some are like two 5 minute intervals split by 25 minutes of nothing.
Then they add a monthly event, that again is only available at a specific interval of that 60 minutes. And on top of that, you only can do stuff in even smaller intervals and had to wait between them.
If you expect me to grind, at least let me choose when I want to do something.
I heard someone else say that too lol
Red Dead Redemption 2 is more cozy than Palia tbh
Even Raft is more cozy than Palia. I'd even venture and say Rimworld is far cozier than Palia.
One more bad update/condescending dev message and I'll dare to say that COD circa 2007 is more cozy than 2025 Palia
making the maji market a monthly thing was completely stupid. when it was tied to a certain time of year, it felt more special, like you had to be there or else it's wait another year for it, now it just feels like an every day occurrence
I really only watch someone else play something if I'm looking for a how-to and will only watch whatever part it is I need. I have bought a few games that I thought wouldn't be my thing but still enjoyed regardless... but that was thanks to demos. More games should have demos.
they just made a new yearly event and bumped the old one to half obscurity so that they could get more people playing/logging on every day. it's the ZLC artificial log in uptick
even if you could add more to your plot the game limits everything.
Why in the world cant I place item xyz inside my house?
Why are they limiting how we can place stuff, the game obviously doesn’t care about the fact that rooms arent connected to a house, that rooms/items are on the ground and so on.
Cheaters and bugs showed it often enough, why limit our ability to actually use the housing system which obviously can do more?
they literally deleted the floor for "creative player expression" and I still can't place outdoor items indoors? lol make it make sense
Tbh, I was excited with the concept of Maji Market returning once a month at first. But then I saw how bad they watered it down and only made it a complete grindfest and only brought back the borked chapaa chase spawn. That was the last straw for me (and then the snowball fiasco happened).
I remember seeing someone placing rooms diagonally and I immediatedly had the same question in mind. Why don't they just let us do this?
the game doesnt care about anything.
you want a floating chair, thats rotated on all three axes? alright, no problem.
yet the only way to achieve this is either cheating or bug using.
I think some limitations are needed tbh, but the way the game's building system is built upon makes it more frustrating than anything.
I don't even mind having to use some tricks to place out of bounds or float something, but literally the housing system is so messed up. I had to tetris my house together to make it the way I wanted because it wouldn't let me place hallways in open area attached to a room. So I moved the room, attach hallway, move room, nothing in the way. Just let us place anything anywhere on the whole plot however we want. It's not that hard if people can do it with their own keyboards
also why in the dragon are the houses not square? I had to delete a room because mathematically it should fit, but actually it doesn't
Worst part about it is that, unlike The Sims, there are no shortcuts such as an undo button, copying rooms, blueprints... or even the ability to flip furniture horizontally for those who want to have things be symmetrical
I enthusiastically grind in other games, but I am fairly compensated for my efforts. The LNY really ticked me off this year, if I'm honest. They reverted the improvements made to chapaa chase and rigged it so it was near impossible to complete the stamp challenges. They forced people to not only play hotpot, but win repeatedly, knowing full well the reward system is entirely different. Those of us who remembered from last year had to teach people to play all over again. People were now in a situation where it was more advantageous to obtain a solo table than play with others if you wanted the top reward exclusive to this year. They didn't bother to tell anyone the new rewards were exclusive to this year. They wiped the stamp card progress from last year. Rewards in the booths were vanishing or displaying errors. Chapaa's were getting eaten by the hill, dropped, or snatched out of people's hands.
takes a breath
We haven't had a successful event this year. Everything has been bugged or broken. This is my very long-winded plea for a dedicated bug fix update in place of a month with new features, and an urgent priority status on accessibility dangers that are still being widely reported, slated for a hotfix as soon as possible.
So if you make a mistake, you have to start all over again and it makes for a very frustrating game experience
really shouldn't post this, but well, who cares if i get bonked again.
like I said, it works, we just aren't allowed to do it.
sure there needs to be some item limit, there 100% is a limit how items behave, but most of it is there just to be there..
yo an undo button would have saved my heart so many times
I get the item limit thing, but uh... that could have been solved by increasing the limit forever ago while it was still PC only, NOT releasing to the switch until the game is actually ready for it and then boom, either no limit or a like 8k limit by the time the game gets to 1.0
but no, they made too many terrible decisions and now we're here staring down the barrel of 1.0 release while still sitting at a 0.0043 game
What I meant by limitations was more in the vein of stuff like this, not so much the item plot limit, otherwise things would get really messy in my opinion. But my point stands on the fact that we are given too many limitations for what is esentially the end game activity in the game.
i mean, there are plots with 7k+ items, and guess what, it works even on switch.
is the performance really not great? yeah, but its bad everywhere.
yeah like what do you spend gold on after you have everything? Zeki coins. lmao
what do you spend renown on when you have everything and are maxed out focus and bonus? literally nothing afaik
But, hopefully, over time, they can build a game that you'll want to spend your money on.
Maybe if they let me buy the hat I want without buying an entire outfit I'll never wear...
the games "economy" dumps are trash because gambling doesn't make anyone feel good when they grinded the whole game to be met with 10,000 gold for some milk
And separate my shoes from my pants.
And I don't even care for spending my money on yet another RNG system
So I just spend my money on rooms and furniture which brings us back to the first point. Builing is incredibly limited, so players have to resort to either glitches or hacks, and to add insult to injury, many glitches have the chance of being patched or only made harder to achieve.
yeah, sure it gets messy, i also don't really care about the fact that you can't rotate a room on its top, yet it also wouldn't hurt anybody.
if they think it could be confusing, hide it behind some "advanced building mode"-toggle, and let creative ppl be creative.
never gonna happen, since a vfx toggle is too hard, buut one can rant
Not to mention certain glitches are not doable on every platform.
And learn how to alter eyeliner without accidentally desaturating eyebrows everywhere.
side note i dont like how the marketplace button now shines annoyingly
I don't like how the quest tracker now eats up a third of my screen
yup, I can't do most of the glitches so my only options are really anchoring to float, pushing out of bounds and most things you can do with a bowl and a present. building glitches? probably won't work. item limit glitches? work but glitches, like the rest of the game
I don't have any quests but that's going to be annoying. Why in the world would they not just implement UI scaling.
I thought it was just me at first, I click those things off as often as I can
A UI slider is such a basic accessibility feature for literally everyone but this game just pretends it does not exist.
I have never felt a bigger disturbance in a cozy game since getting Fector’s challenge in Stardew Valley. It’s only been 3 days and my soul slowly, but surely, is losing essence thanks to the existence of the RTB plush. Is there any solid advice on how to better approach getting this plush or am I at the mercy of RNG deities? Any and all suggestions are welcome.
how else should console players be able to read it from their couch?
imagine having different (scaled) UIs for different platforms, thats some dark magic
I don't get many quests anymore, but its annoying when you have a whole ingredient list taking up half your visible space
Pray to the god of RNG.
Or at least a toggle. The very very few accessibility adjacent things they've done have actually caused just as many accessibility issues. All because they won't make these things opt in/opt out. They just slap them in there not thinking about who else will be affected.
Yeah, I feel you on that. It doesn't helpt they only made the building glitches more annoying after they added landscapes and also now some glitches are only doable if you have 2 diferent landscapes
which I guess was unintentional anyways but still, we shouldn't need to figure this stuff out on the first place if they only let us build freely.
Sorcery!!!!
ah that remembers me of the fishing change.
"lets slow it down for everyone, and call it accessibility instead of nerf"
If we had Tiny Glade's system on Palia it would be so much better. I don't know how it'd work but, even something more akin to The SIms were we can build walls instead of purchasing rooms would be nice.
Speaking of SDV, I'm gonna go play a cozy game. I'll come back to line simulator, grindy cyberbully fest sometime tomorrow. I didn't even log on to Palia today
Oh yes, the change that caused a huge chunk of players to suddenly not be able to fish at all for nearly 10 months before they silently added a workaround and told no one? That accessibility change?
I’ve tried, but to no avail. Any strats?
I read the accessibilty channel. I see things.
at this point i am not even sure how often specific stuff got broken in any specific way
For some people complaining about the thing seems to work.
Or even better, give up and hope someone is giving it up for trade.
well, you can try getting to the groves first before anybody else, groves have a chance of spawning epic bugs or magical creatures, just approach slowly, honey lure in south bahari at 2:59am in game to start spawning the day bugs, then have random people run up and either scare the bugs off or catch the bug you're trying to get
I can’t give up. The thrill of the hunt is too strong. It’s got a grip on me.
you got a 1/25 chance to get it.
sooo, grinding with the jar and only doing it while it really can spawn (not sure but iirc morning & day?), is the best thing you could do.
I always catch the RTB by accident. But there's no way I'm going to even attempt it until people chill out over that plush.
And this is why they did it. Add a rare plush to the rarest bug in the game and watch the people dance.
Engagement innit
It spawns 3am - 6pm, but there's almost no point in even trying for RTB after 6am. Have the buzzy jar going at 3am and pray.
I'm sorry, I had to.
you know, i remember when the bug plushes were first released, and people were afraid that a rainbow plush was going to be attached to the butterfly...
And here we are...
people are now checking the groves for bugs and abandoning them without cutting the trees
i would hope they would call them out even still
are groves even still interesting?
didn't do one since we got flow tree seeds for our plots.
only for the epic creature and the occasional impromptu bug catching party
For reals though,Sylvablade's comment about is your best chance, there is a strat to "force spawn" the RTB like they mentioned and multiple videos online which you can check out! (or head to #🐞│hunting-insects). Other than that, it's up to RNGesus.
Nope. And when you call them out, they ignore you. One player even asked why I was bothering to wait for help with the grove when they had a lure going.
Seen the recommendations. Thanks for your input. Back to suffering I go.
I haven't bothered with groves since I got the ||Galdur's statue||
which is a waste of a lure since rainbows spawn after 3am game time
Goodluck! We salute your efforts
thank god its balanced and you can’t force it to give a flow tree seed.
This is sarcasm right?
i know right /s
It was after 3. I had been calling it since half 12 with no luck. Just hanging around hunting while I waited. Dark times.
NMS pulled itself up because the creator was/is so damn passionate about the game he didn't give up. No one higher up at Palia is passionate about it. Period.
Player hosted flow tree parties are also amazing for that. Went to one once, got around 2k planks worth of flow. I even had to give some away because it was overflowing.
ofc
Who would waste the time when u are able to „bug“ it. At this point it aint even a bug but a feature.
Crabs is pretty passionate about milking our wallets dry.
Though the bug itself is also a bit time consuming but yes, it's also the only way I got all the rummage piles stuff.
oh don't get me started on the rummage piles. those are some hot messes right there. still never got all of the bahari pile recipes
got lots of corn though
So. Much. Corn.
Didnt get invested enough to do it on the piles. I just accepted that i wont get these recipes and moved on.
Remember when they removed the lesser rewards from rummage piles? They did not mean 1 corn, or 5 copper, or 1 brightshroom, or 1 wheat...
I'll watch streamers play a game I'm considering getting to see if it's something I would like. I will admit during covid lock down, I watched WAY too many hours of Tag's ACNH streams while I was playing it. It was what kept me sane.
as you said: gonna get that engagement.
Realistically most players aren’t abusing the bug and actually need ages to get everything..
just got onto SDV and into the mines, got a prismatic shard. I'm never opening Palia again, something is dangerously wrong with their RNG
I forgot about it tbh. I just don't want a dinky little brightshroom when I have 78 of them stockpiled at home.
Add furniture medals to that. There is literally nothing new to buy aside from the spa starter pack, and I have been maxed out on those for AGES. Gimme something new or let me spend those tokens on cloth and silk, ffs.
tag is amazing, he's the one that got me into red dead. he has gorgeous eyes
Yeah, well, he doesn't suck that well, and he can get in line behind things I actually NEED to buy.
aight, soon to be added, skill lucky balls. With another rare plushie for each medal type.
I love Tag's voice. Like gimme an ASMR video of Tag reading the phone book at night to put me to sleep, please and thank you. Although I don't know what went down with him and Asheley but he doesn't seem the same since they broke up and she moved out.
And I am always <> this close to buying Red Dead because of Tag's vids on it.
Bite yer tongue!!!!!
And I played with Tag's group in New World when it first came out...talk about another game that missed. Ooof.
as a fan of red dead since it came out and red dead 2 (also since it cane out ig
), yes. do it
It's on the wishlist, but there are a few others games on the horizon that I might get first. We shall see.
definitely get it if you can, think it's around 30 usd for physical copy (at least at my local walmart)
the original game also runs surprisingly well on the switch, and I love the zombie mode with my whole heart. I heard someone did zombies for RDR2 but I haven't played it cause I have it on PS4 so no mods
I'll probably go with getting it on the comp through steam. Mods are life 🙂
Like I would have rage quit SDV after fishing the first time if it weren't for mods.
And CA better not put that mechanic in Haunted Chocolatier, that's all I'm saying on that one.
yessssss ugh. I'm better at it now after a LOOOOT of practice on switch but on the computer, nah, that's modded out lmao
That and the time passing in dungeons. Nope. Paused!
don't get me started on stardew mods, I have at least 250 on my current save and probably over 500 on my computer in general
even then, there's people on the stardew discord with over 1000 current mods on their game
That is the only thing that keeps me from regularly booting up SDV.....updating all the mods! lol
lmao I need to do that tomorrow 🤣
So I'm not far into the story at all with the characters, but so far.. Eshe is handsdown my favorite of the bunch LOL. My little ones and I have been watching how the emperor got his groove, which if you haven't seen this gem do yourself a huge favor and watch it! I can't at all shake the fact that Eshe IS Yzma! I don't know if later on in the story she is just vile and terrible, but so far.. I'm so entertained by all of my interactions with her LOL
Not sure if something similar to this has been discussed but player A called out player B on the server to ask permission to join in the bug catching while they had a lure down. Person A ended up being called toxic by other people in the server. What are your thoughts on this?
How did the interaction go? Player A: Can I join? Player B: You're toxic. Was it there no escalation?
can understand both sides, honey lures are kinda expensive, if hunting for a particular bug may not even have a chance to get it because other players are scaring it away so the lure is "wasted" for it's use. but personally, and this may be a bad take, but if you put down a lure in an area you have to expect others to come and join as they pass. it's just the way the game is made. but that's my take, i've never cared one way or the other if people jumped into a lure that i placed, though i'm usually the one to call it out that i'm dropping it. also, people have to realize that some people don't speak/read in every language and some have chat turned off so as to not get bothered by it
Does anyone do the purple ticket ? If so click for click? https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2fcXJGL/
i mean, yeah, it's nice to ask if you can join in, but like i said, there's no rule that you have to ask to join in. it's one of those community rules that not everybody gets the memo on
the release of the rtb plush is going to make a lot of people more, aggressive(?), when it comes to the rainbow butterfly right now
but as i said, while it might be nice to ask first, you can't expect everybody to do so
i've tried to do a honey lure to look for the rainbow before i stopped playing, and people would come by and i would catch the butterfly as it's flying away and miss it entirely. it is what it is, everyone is playing the game how they want to play, which is what palia is/was all about
Hrm, mind you, this is none of my business which way, but I come from a different gaming background. The game I mainly play, players were always expected to be quiet, and never complain no matter how bad the situation is in the game (like if you're dying to a bossfight over and over again). You just quietly endure as to not draw attention to yourself. So generally speaking, if you put down a public item in a public gaming space that's shared by everyone, I can't imagine why anyone would think they could put boundaries on that item. I understand this probably isn't the norm way of thinking for the majority, but generally speaking, I think the best outcome would've been just to bite your tongue and not say anything. Funny enough, I ran by a group that had a lure down. I had thought to ask to join, but felt it was intruding so I just left. Maybe both should've been more understanding towards each other in this case. 🤔
kinda like the groves. is it nice for people to wait until 3am to cut the grove, but it's not a game rule, if it was then s6 would have put some form of failsafe into it that prevented it from being cut, but again that's my take, your mileage may vary
lol, I come from WoW where I will legit scream at healers or tanks being stupid. However this doesn't sound like a case of being stupid. But I agree, if you throw a lure down, people will stop as the go by, but then I usually call out when I'm dropping one cause I want folks to get stuff. Nice player the other night invited everyone who ran up to group so everyone could get the new seeds.
unless the lure was called in chat, or was placed in the grove, i usually ignored the lure area
Same as soon as I see the lure I turn around and run the other way
never played WoW, but could totally understand yelling at healers and tanks not doing their jobs right, if the healer goes down, team is screwed, if the tank goes down all the squishy ones go down as well. then have to do the dungeon all over again i'm assuming
I'm from FFXI originall and then played FFXIV from beta through to the latest expansion. They're just totally different gaming communities at the end of the day. I think Palia is really young right now, so I'm not sure which way it'll lean towards. I think it depends on how popular the game gets and how aggressive players eventually end up over resources.
Pretty much, I pride my squishie self on managing to not stand in the hurty stuff while still maxing out my dps. But if the healer is screwing off and not healing or the tank is trying to power pull the whole dungeon at once, I'm calling that crap out. I'm old, don't waste what time I've got left! lol
which for a game that is supposed to be "cozy", isn't very cozy if players are being aggressive over resources
I couldn't agree more
YEah, WoW fixed some resource issues several expansions ago. Now nodes don't immediately disappear which cut out the Chinese cheats.
Especially when they give a very rare bug an even rarer drop
I was shocked that since even some of the devs came from Blizz, that Palia didn't have that right away. Big oversight on their part.
i think we all saw this coming (the aggressive bug hunting) when bug plushes were first introduced with a possible rtb plush drop
I looked at it the opposite LOL. The moment I saw Blood Elf starter area from WotLK, I knew right away there was going to be some really dated dev design going into this game. I wasn't surprised at all when I found them LOL. It is what it is I guess
Ah, Silvermoon, the prettiest zone no one every goes to, lol
Hmm, sounds more like a miscommunication to me. Sometimes things escalate due to how one delivers their message. Tbh, i don't think it's that serious to call someone toxic for just wanting permission to join unless they were literally being rude about it. Granted there isn't a law that prohibits such things but the end of the day, if people don't want you there then there's also no point for you to stay and intrude? it boils down to courtesy. Still, it's not that deep on both accounts. I think what furthered this interaction was an outsider fueling fire between what an already awkward exchange.
wai what chance can i fish now??
/always late to the party
@abstract folio Pretty hilarious, I just had a run in a with a pretty rude lure group and did decide to ask to join LOL I'll definitely never do that again. So far the community has been very nice over all, but this bug thing. I'm not messing with it.
People get very …. Invested in their honey lure parties.
Especially if the plushie is hard to get like with the Rainbow tipped butterflies
No excuse for being rude tho but ya know
Yeah, I just learned that pretty quickly. It's fine tho, lesson learned lol. No need to be acting that way with a cozy game but eh, to each their own.
Yeah! But I’m sorry you had a bad experience because honey lures are pretty fun. Just I guess make sure you are signed up for it as they can be a community event unless they were announced in chat beforehand. I always just pop a smoke candle now days so I don’t scare their loot away and watch if I’m not invited
Anyone notice their paths changed to all the same size so now it’s all messed up?
That's payton, the paver bug. He shows up every so often
I love that it has a name 😭
just don't touch it, it will go back to normal.. sometime in the future 😂
I got tired of all these bugs, so I named them
people have to sign up to do lures now???
Only if it’s a community or private event
i’mma need a bit of a splainer here, and i promise im being entirely genuine.
so.
people are setting up “private events” (which do make sense to me if it’s, like, signing up for a role at a cake party) with… lures?
i am totally genuine in my confusion rn.
the concept of a private lure is just… i don’t understand.
Yeah so people have palia communities where they plan events for their members to join, it could be hunting, cooking parties, fishing parties, honey lure parties and other events that you can sign up to by the palia party app
That's silly
https://paliaparty.app this is the app
That's like throwing a massive block party and not expecting random strangers to help themselves to the food
You can't stop players from showing up in a public area
You could party play, but that's it
Some party types are easier to manage for sure. But generally speaking if you see a big group just ask before you join. That’s the decent thing to do anyways
Yeah and use the sneaky smoke bomb to catch bugs as it doesn’t scare bugs around you when tossed
the fact people have to make parties and fuss about lures is another reason i dont like how s6 keeps doing these rare plushies...
Who's goof at fishing I'm trying to figure where to start with my fishing bundles
We had two streams clash yesterday in pulsewater, a few different parties.. and everyone was dropping lures. We asked before we crashed, but we were all after the same thing - by the end there were five or so lures down at a time and bugs galore
it's just nicer
For reference, none of us got the plush, and one rtb showed up for the whole thing.. but the effort was there lmao
Many of us that play in groups are in separate private communities now, as we’ve taken this as a game to play occasionally to a point where we are online most of our free time. What we cannot be doing is dictating the public areas of the game to be “private” or “reserved” and bar other players from including themselves into your lures, your fishing areas, your hunting grounds. Gatekeeping is toxic behavior and while yes, I understand that coming across gold is a tedious task, we are all in one way or another playing the game.
It’s the same that if we wish to honour the year old grove 3 AM ettiquette we will do so, but we cannot gatekeep those who wish to play on their own terms.
So, while frustrating for some, you cannot allow your emotions to heighten while playing and just remember you’re supposed to be enjoying your game play. If you get to a point where you are feeling any of those negative emotions including frustration or anger, it is time to take a break, recollect yourself and then return with that weight removed from your chest.
I have a question
I would start at the bottom and work your way up. What can you find in Kilima, no bait, then worm, then Bahari, and slowly work your way up to Glow Worms.
PaliaNotebook or PaliaTracker could be a tool you could use (one is an app, the other is a website)
I have ten grow worms
I would maybe invest in up to 3 glow worm bins if you’re interested in collecting all the fish, any meat you get from hunting, throw 30 of those into the bin and wait for the idle, just to get going.
When you progress a little further you can put higher priced food items to massively increase the actual worm output. But for now, try to get 3 stacks as some of the fish have much lower spawn rates (void Ray, goldfish, Kilima ray, unicorn for example)
Edit: some other players may have better ideas @tacit bough , I would even try asking @wide hound or @hexed cloak for some advice!
What bin?
Worm bin and Glow worm bin. The recipes should be in Einar’s shop.
I mean I have Normal worms
What level are you on? I think it might be level 8 you get the glow worm recipe but not 100percent sure
I'm on four?
Yeah youll have to wait for the glow worm farm a bit then
You can get them from lucky wheels and zekis prize thing though!
I just unlocked something from thr fishing guy
We should be able to stop random people from joining our lures though 😂 I hate when random people join mine. It really isn't fair when I use my resources to make a lure and I bring a candle, and then 4 people come running through it. In my opinion, that's what's rude and toxic behavior. You don't just invite yourself when someone didn't advertise it 🤷♀️ lots of people like to play solo, or are looking for something specific with a strategy.
Not bug mafia 😂😂
It's a multiplayer game. It was supposed to be an MMO. You cannot tell others what to do in a shared environment.
It's so funny to me how the 'etiquette' changes based on what people are trying to get for themselves. When the game started lures were an amazing fun activity we all shared. It was great having loads of people coming together. Now it's just selfishness because people are trying to get plushies for themselves.
The 3pm grove 'ettiquette' is now getting thrown out the window with people trying to hurry it up so they can be ready for the bug spawns at 3am 😂
Just get on with it, play the game and just accept in a shared space sometimes people will not do what you want or expect them to. Try and focus on having fun with others rather than getting stressed because you want that plushie now!
I always question whether ppl ever played a MMO before when I read stuff like:
lots of people like to play solo
Palia is great, just have fun with the other players.
In other MMO's with pvp, u'd get (lets say) 'removed' by any group which wants that spot..
I genuinely don't think they have. Unfortunately I think the switch release attracted a lot of solo cozy gamers and the multiplayer went downhill rapidly from there. Not that it was ever much to write home about.
Yeah, it was fine, not much of multiplayer content, but the little stuff you could do in groups worked surprisingly well and often groups just randomly formed on a server.
Judging by the messages I've read, the game is still hot garbage. Maybe even more so
With the way S6 are going, they're making Disney Dreamlight Valley look like a game of the year
At least DDLV actually communicates with their player base
I've said it before I'll say it again, it's simply bad game design to have all the bugs and animals scared off by every and any player doing anything in the vicinity. A lot of these player driven rules and etiquette are born from players finding that design to be disruptive and looking to find solutions to the problems the game has. I suspect palia would end up a much cozier place if it had actual cozy multiplayer design, but largely it does not.
But that is the risk you take playing with others. I feel like players have joined a multiplayer game and are trying their hardest to play it solo. Rather than finding an actual solo game. In multiplayer other people will affect your gameplay. That's just the nature of it
Might want to ask over in #🐣│palia-newbies you might get more response and more people who remember those early fishing levels and can help you better.
I can understand to some extent, people being frustrated when they do a honey lure, and someone comes in and scares the bugs unintentionally. I totally get it. But what i don't fully get, is why people get frustrated when people come to join said honey lure.
Isn't it good for someone to help clear out the common bugs, in hopes the uncommon and rare ones appear? And also, Palia is a multiplayer game. I know it isn't advertised or marketed as "mmo" anymore, but it's at least a multiplayer one. It's sort of expected, and most likely something the devs intentioned, for random people to come over to join in for lures, groves, etc.
Like, look. I'm someone who does usually play solo on this game. I do prefer that kind of experience to some extent, just because it is an option. But that aside, when I do do a honey lure or something else, I'm not going to shoo others away. Because it's expected, and it's also helpful (imo) and nice to do. even if it's just them being nearby. I probably wouldn't of gotten the plushes in the past beforehand, without randoms coming over to help (along with the 1 friend who also helped me, but still).
I'm saying we should be able to exist in a shared space in this multiplayer game without simply existing there negatively affecting other players. We ought to be encouraged by game design to participate in a random group activity. Yes ofc sometimes peoples interests and objectives will clash in a multiplayer game but palia's design inherently causes constant clashing.
how is any 'etiquette' related to disruptive design?
Except of scaring away bugs and huntables, theres nothing someone could do to disrupt any one else.
If i don't call out the grove / any flow tree and just chop it down, I didn't disrupt anyone.
If I dont call out the palium and just mine it down, I didn't disrupt anyone.
....
But that's subjective. What is negative for one isn't negative for others. I don't want a game so easy that everything is handed to me. Bugs should be able to be scared away. If that happens I try for the next one. The fun is in the hunt. If I found rainbow butterflies all over the place that just sat still I would be very disappointed.
I was specifically talking about bugs and animals in that comment though. They did make mining better by making nodes last longer for others after they are mined and they did improve flow trees with groves.
I'm not saying a rare bug shouldn't still be rare or be scared when you try to catch it, I'm saying simply running past it and not attempting in any way to catch it shouldn't scare it away for every other player. It can be really hard to notice a bug or animal as you're running through bahari to a flare esp since the game is so buggy, and sometimes especially for switch players you can't even see other players are in the area.
I know i"ve seen someone suggest in the past, that bugs could be spooked only after they get hit once or something. I wouldn't mind that change (but i also dont mind if they get spooked if im too close, personally.)
Or if bugs are going to be scared by any player maybe they don't have to disappear unless someone tried to catch it
I just don't see the point in games with no challenge and palia has a lot of people complain when something is not achievable immediately. The groves were introduced as people complained flow wood was scarce. It was supposed to be. It was an end game resource and there should have been a grind for it in order to make the high end furniture etc. Then people complain there is nothing to do because everything has been sped up for them. Now everyone wants rainbow plushies straight away so want the bug catching mechanics changed. Before plushies were introduced no one cared. Now everyone is up in arms about bugs because they need to put a little effort and time into getting one.
you said:
I suspect palia would end up a much cozier place if it had actual cozy multiplayer design, but largely it does not.
that's why I asked and excluded bugs and animals.
We have etiquettes for so much stuff, but (afaik) none of them apply to something thats actually disruptive.
flow wood was never really that hard to get.
all you needed to do was chopping some normal trees and they spawned. if you started doing that on a server, chances were high that other players joined in and you got 2-4 flow trees every few minutes / respawn.
tbf. that mechanic never gets explained ingame
Flow wood wasn't 'hard'. it was 'annoying' to the point where it was frustrating. esp with the fact that some furniture required 18 planks of wood or something. it just didnt feel good
yeah. i did this too. just was so timeconsuming. i know i was making a lot of bellflower stuff at the time but it just didnt feel great
yeah, but I'd argue the issue wasn't the amount of flow wood/trees. It is/was that there is not enough content that doesn't require grinding. Its not really balanced.
After you played most of your skills to 10 and got the palium tools, everything is mostly one thing.
You want to build your house? go grind flow wood and some palium.
Want to finish a bundle? Depending on the bundle, but for the first ones: go grind some rare fish/bugs.
Wanted another plot? grind those cake parties (well, that one isn't true any more, not enough cake parties)
Because because the content is so lacking that building and decorating your house was the only thing to do. So everyone wanted loads of resources to build and decorate big houses straight away. Where as if you were gradually upgrading your house alongside playing more content it wouldn't have felt as bad.
Haha snap
You can't exclude bugs and animals when that's a large part of the game, the driving point of my comment, and a large part of the current etiquette discourse though that just is ignoring a large part of my statement.
Mining used to be less multiplayer friendly when nodes would disappear instantly for everyone once mined by anyone, the design has since improved with the change and flares. I'm not saying it's perfect but it's better. Flow trees used to be much more scarce but groves helped and so did revisiting how much flow wood was needed in some furniture, and introducing more furniture sets made with less scarce resources. Palia design often starts from a place that isn't that multiplayer friendly and some of it has been changed to be better but large parts of it haven't.
possibly. & that specific thing was my focus at the time. It just sucked to go out for hours to chops ome trees for flow, then go back and craft like 2? maybe 3? things, depending on what it is, and going "welp gotta go again"
now i dont really care, but yea hahahaha
Now there's etiquette surrounding honey lures too? "Private" areas? Bro I hate it here
I think I got your point.
And we have very different opinions on what 'multiplayer friendly' means, but thats fine. Now i know what you mean with 'disruptive'
No there isn't. There are people that want there to be. Just ignore them and play your way
I honestly just stopped going to Bahari altogether unless it was for a quest. There's always ✨ something ✨ going on over there.
I'd define most of that stuff as 'soloplayer friendly'.
Flares and grid were a good change for both.
All the other changes mostly improved solo playing and actually reduced playing together with random people.
Without the timed nodes, you actually played together with a group of people, since everyone had to hit it.
Grove is mostly a -/+ 0. Back then it was a longer multiplayer activity, even could find groups in #1143270926394335282
I don't think I have to say that the cooking nerf basically killed it as a multiplayer activity? - well it screwed it even more for soloplayers..
Can other people only gift you things by using the request menu in the friend section? Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Im in need of pearls and I already asked for gifts this hour around. I thought maybe people could drop them off at you plot???
the request menu is the only way to gift items.
@lucid hornet thank you for your simple answer, sorry my question wasn't simple lol
The only thing they can “drop off” at your plot is building materials if you have a house structure waiting to be built.

There’s what now?
I 100% saw people talking about honey lures yesterday and how if you weren’t invited to play they’d give you some sort of ‘no’ reaction to get you away
I never had a problem with people joining my honey lures just bc I play solo and having someone else get rid of bugs helps open more spaces for rarer bugs
Yeah there was abit of commotion yesterday on the server with others using lures without asking to join - but people use buzzy jars aswell which can lead them to a honey lure
Ikr?
like, i get the entire community get together thing but a grove, palium or any rare resource not being called in chat is NOT THAT DEEP. If you see people doing honey lures, wouldn't hurt to ask if it's alr to join but if they don't want u to that's alright too. Not that hard to not overcomplicate things tbh. It's not really a matter of "is there a law stating blah blah" but moreso "do i really wanna spend my time fussing over this?" when you could simply just leave and have a better exchange somplace else. Even when ppl be rude over there I just can't be bothered to give them a piece of my time.
It really shows some people have either never played an MMO before or never played a multiplayer game before either... and while there's no judgement in that, the fact so many players act so entitled over resources really makes you wonder why they even decided to play a game that is "meant" to be about "community" (both in air quotes because as we know, Palia doesn't know what direction it wants to go in and they could care less about the community).
When I used to play back in 2023, people would announce in server chat if they were throwing down a honey lure so others could join, and rarely did you ever see people complaining about others joining in. If anything, the entitled players were often sushed and told they didn't own the server and to just hop somewhere else. It's so sad how things have changed.
yeah i remember those days aswell
some still do just not often now there are plushies to be won.. but they can be won by everyone
I feel like the plushie should've been tied to an achievement tbh.
I still do this on the rare occasion that I play. But when I play, I mostly try to do things that help others because I do not care about decor and there's not much left for me to do in the game other than grind pointlessly.
There shouldn't be plushies tied to rare/legendary huntables. That's just cruel
yeah! thee rarest bug going and they slap a plushie on it
It's not like RTBs are like glambi or bluujin where you can predict their spawn. You have to get ✨ lucky ✨
yeah you know the locations for the magic animals to spawn
It is because the legendary huntables constantly respawn. The RTB is pretty much a one and done every in-game day.
Adding grinds for the sake of grinding and not because said grind is fun kekw.
It is. I see mag animals all the time.
it makes sense that bugs and animals can get scared away. it would be boring to hunt things that you don't have to do any effort to chase. hunting down the muujin that turn invisible is especially tricky and i'm not sure if i would change that
With the way they've watered down every other skill, I'm sure they'll get to the point where the bugs just sit there and wait for you to bomb them.
yeah they are barely visible. invisible XD
I think the Muujin still need to be balanced a bit more. They should be stunned for a bit when they fall out the tree.
"Please take us out of the game. We don't want to be here anymore, either." - The bugs, probably.
Tbh last time I threw down honey lures people couldn't care less, only 1 or 2 people joined for a bit but then left. I didn't tell them to go away or anything, granted it could get a bit annoying if they accidentally scared away the rare bugs or you couldnt get a hit but nothing worth harrassing people over really.
I don't think hunting would be as bad if you could actually see the animals. Half the time they're so desynced it's like fighting a disco deer with how they're teleporting
I scare animals for fun sometimes, only when i'm alone lol
Or the disco muujin regenerating health when it isn't meant to. It's just a pain hunting one of those down, almost impossible to do solo.
i think it's nice for muujin to actually be somewhat hard to hunt. adds to the challenge even if it can be frustrating. just like hunting irl. most can be cheesed somehow
This has always been the case for me as well. Maybe one or two people show up. Often no one. I throw lures around Maji's Hollow a lot because so many people have issues with the duskwing and still nobody bothers to show. 🤷♀️
i don't think they do that anymore
muujin coming out the trees can fling you up into the air sometimes!
I would love if they introduced something similar to what ESO has where a bunch of enemies spawn at a certain point, everyone in the area works together to kill them, then everyone gets a reward - its so fun doing those things with people
there is a bug or something, because the blue ones are 100% regening health again.
multiple people have been reporting it happening now.
I woooould be fun, if it was reasonable to do for players with disabilities. Or if we had something that made it cheeseable like... you know. Slowdown + Dispel arrow comboes or just outright stun arrows.
though i think there should be limits as to how many muujin can hide in a tree. it's ridiculous for 6 of them to spawn after chopping down a single tree
OML it's the chapaa chase all over again. Why do these things keep getting reverted.
Also @fiery perch I think I might be addicted to NMS now XD
i have seen them just straight up teleporting backwards. it's so weird. i dont even.
LOL You're welcome!
Yeah. It's really frustrating. I used to be able to hunt the blue ones solo, even if it took me a while. Cuz i at least kept track of where it was going... but now? Impossible. they just regen health. i have given up since the change got reverted :/
Think my favorite thing so far might either be finding wrecked ships, fixing them up and selling them OR getting into dogfights with pirates.
Good to hear. I love just learning the language and discovering stuff. Still have been trying to find a place where i'd like to build
i thought that they had make the hunting less accurate.. a few times i was just aiming and firing in their general direction and it was hitting.. might've been lag
other times its like im a sniper in COD and need accurate precision
I do this for every animal. Didn't know it was a thing but I'm too lazy to keep chasing them after first hit
Is aim assist always on?
the hunting is weird in this gane and I honestly wish the "auto aim" feature that makes my arrows take a 90 degree turn to a animal I'm not aiming for and it scares them both would go away.
Also yeah the blujiin healing is not cool, even group hunting, it's impossible. Me and 2 other players chased down a bujiin, barely any health left, goes into a tree, cut it down, teleports halfway across the map with full health. So we run. Shot him a few times, half health. Goes into the tree. Chopped tree. 2 full health blujiins come out. Rinse and repeat until you have 4-5 blujiins and then I gave up and went home
i think it is yea (i don’t remember seeing a way to turn it off)
More difficult huntables would be fine if players had an "Easy way out" for hunting them.
Ugghhhh
HOLD THE PHONE! theres an aim assist!!
It's also just the fact theyre not supposed to heal when jumping in a tree, but alas. Palia and somehow reverting changes. :/
no wonder i feel like i’m better on the pc
Giving us motion controls on Switch would be grand
And the auto aim is removed. I don't know why they have that always on when it kind of causes more trouble. But of course they don't like adding options for players to turn off certain features
What about a flow trap that you can attach to a tree, then if there are any magic muujin in the tree when the tree is chopped down it stuns them for a few seconds? If there aren't any you get the trap back.
god yes, motion controls would be great. I've been up and down the settings and either I'm blind or there's no aim assist options
Im PC is it purely switch only
miscommunication
Honestly I hate the way humans are written. We arrive with past knowledge, but the things we don't know is weird. We know what a school is? But we don't know how to cook? We don't know how to fight ? So we are stuck "learning" from some rood teenager? He doesn't even teach us, he just gives us a bow and arrows. Which means they could have given any other weapon
that’d be cool and same with fishing too maybe
HOW can we read ancient human AND speak Majiri???!!?!?!
Completely missed that!
Yeah the "lore" is all over the place tbh.
IT makes zero sense!! The cooking part is what really got me. I know how to chop wood and mine ore. But I don't know how to not starve???!?!
I’m just annoyed that Auni is supposed to be a bug hunter but can’t seem to catch the blue butterfly.. makes no sense at all 😂 He annoys me
Are you telling me that the lore, the skills and all other systems in Palia are half-done before S6 makes new systems?
Say it ain't so!
well auni is a kid
hes the bug hunter that always struggles to catch bugs.. its a weekly want... every week
The languages was the first thing my husband asked me about when I showed him this gane and it blew my mind and now I can't stop thinking about how we can just read and speak both a dead language we dont remember and a language we've never heard before
Subira is impressed by how quickly we build our homes. We can throw up a house in no time, but stirring some soup is too complicated.
we are fast learners
then again, whe ni was a kid, i was catching frogs and toads and keeping them as pets. i know not the same as butterflies but lol
Auni not being able to catch a common butterfly but can give us a gold medal I'm bug catching, with his store having expensive items... it really says something
at some point when you level up he tells u he's jealous cos you might be better than him
WHY AM I LEARNING FROM U THEN??
with butterflies you have to be gentle
auni is not xD
Not to mention how insanely fast our human can make gold. You think we'd be able to buy the entire village by now.
Yeah I'm certain that it likely vanished away with the laid off devs /hj
and grow many things but badruu is struggling now and then
fair enough lol, i also always just thought auni wanted more of what he already has captured or something. idno i like the kid. reminded me of myself and how i wanted to catch everything 😂
Badruu having a bajillion apple trees and being poor??? Huhhh???
I mean... didn't they lay off like their original head writer and artists for the actual storyline?
Just like how in SDV you are basically sustaining the entire valley's economy
probably
no. they still have Vega as far as i know
Hassian just complains about your shooting until you upgrade your bow and arrows and I feel like. That's more of his mums turf
ah cool :D
whilst the major sits in a fancy house
and afaik, vega is one of the main writers/narrative designers
At least it doesn't feel as grindy unless you're trying to do Mr. Qis prismatic shard hunt
Also one of my biggest pet peeves is how you basically save the village and are carrying the villagers on your back but they can't even be bothered to help you on your plot, give you discounts, etc. HUH?
Mine is fancier
Why is a lawyer taxing people?
I have the exquisite bow and yesterday he complained about my bow and how he could show me a better one. Like??? there is no better one man, suck my toe
Or the arcade games
There's an entire quest around this. Idk if you've befriended Delilah yet but ||they basically don't pay taxes.||
all kenli does is want to eat
she's a lawyer? I thought she was the magistrate lol
cuz she got permission from the sis in law? but i feel it’s probably kinlie is supposed to be in charge right? so she does things but maybe signs his name or gets him to sign stuff to get things done
Don't forget sleeping too.
I don't think he is incompetent, I think he has sandwich brain. He is nice. That's his problem. He wants everyone to be satisfied, but in a realistic world that doesn't work
would be fun for the other to arrive in kilima one day and kenli have to act as mayor
According to the lore, it's implied Kenli ||actually wants to be a farmer like Badruu and hates being a magistrate.||
He takes care of his flowers!!
almost wanted to sign with joja to shut piere up
Yeah, he's really soft hearted and wants to appease to both sides. I feel bad for the guy tbh.
That would be so helpful
I'm part of a fanclub I can't say here, but me and my homies hate Pierre 🥰
Palians? Remember things? Absolutely not. If we could remember things, the guy who boils lettuce wouldn't be teaching us how to cook
Sign me up!!!
I think I know which fanclub you're referring to
Even Caroline hates Pierre...
i mean irl just cuz i know how to work a stove doesnt mean i am a good cook
with the 1.6 update, the rates have been increased for finding it and I think ||another way to buy it secretly|| so now you don't have to pray so hard to yoba
yes, with the 1.6 update, there is another way to get the auto petter. just takes a while
I just assumed it was flow related in how we could read English and majiri despite just remerging. And also how we understand the majiri in general cause I assume they speak an entirely different language from humans and not, well, English
We spawned in as adults... I'm not saying a good cook. But we should know something
I wish I could marry Caroline and rescue her. And Robin. And I wish Ashura was romanceable, Hodari is cute and all but dam , Ashura needs love too
you also have a chance of getting an auto petter thru the skull cavern treasure chests. it's a low chance tho
As someone who RA'd in college, you'd be surprised how bad most adults are at cooking.
He does Ashura comes across as a big friendly giant.. always happy to help
"Oh no, they put the ramen in the microwave without adding the water first. How does this even happen?"
i love him
Your not suppose to microwave Styrofoam....
Well if you're on PC/Steamdeck, mods are your friends. My bf installed one to marry Caroline just to spite Pierre
And I think they hinted at Ashura being romanceable at some point iirc? But I know that isn't likely gonna be anytime soon
Yes, but also college people doing college things.
everyone in college is functioning at maximum 2% so i get it asjhdajf
you can if it is microwave-safe. which most ramen's that you buy at the store are
Uncooked ramen noodles make for such a good snack though
Not cup ramen, it says it... on the package
I'm 1.5 years into my new save on the switch and it's pretty great.
Playing stardew again after playing Palia for like 2 months straight makes me realize how actually balanced SVD is, despite all the new content from the update.
When I was a poor college student, I'd buy the breakfast sausages and mix them with my cooked ramen and that'd be my dinner most days. It was so good at the time.
Otherwise I'd show up to all the campus events and the cafeteria staff would give me the leftovers they were going to throw out and it'd feed me for a week.
i think depends on brand as most cup ones we can put in microwave
I found my love for mods and my life in SDV changed
Look I usually go for fatherly like figures but Ashura is too much of that wise dad that I personally could not lol He reminds me too much of Vander from Arcane 😭
i've seen some that allow it. but i forgot about those ones in specific lol
There's also some ramen that are in microwave safe containers (that isn't Styrofoam)
I'm assuming most college kids aren't reaching for the premium instant ramen bowls, that's a whole extra 2$
yeah I mod the bejebus out of my PC stardew files lmao
Teach me one day?
ohhh that sucks Ciri!!
My university used to hold events in which the culinary students would do all the catering and a friend of mine would call me over when there were leftovers
good days
I think both having been a varsity wrestler and going to college made me never want to go hungry again.
its super easy.. nexus is the place for the SDV mods
My poor laptop running SDV with over 500 mods: "I'm tired, boss"
yea, i think those were the ones i was thinking of. plus i forgot the ones i have bought, aren't in styrofoam. which are, surprisingly, also from nissin lol
I got a mod that just gives me whatever I want on one file so whenever I get frustrated not being able to find the last walnut and the map isn't helping, I just pop one out of the everything inventory 😂 It's not cheating if it's single player 😂
its not cheating if you need it 👀
FELT I have a Lenovo ThinkPad and she struggles but she's a beast lmao
I think my max mod limit is about 800 though, I had to take some out 🤣
i don’t play sdv but my sister does and complained about that a lot
i need to double check to see if the mod to save anywhere for stardew is updated or if a new one came out yet.
it's not cheating if i don't believe so...
which it actually looks like it is//a new one released, so yippee. maybe i play stardew again
Speaking of mods, I was so shocked to see that NMS basically has a sandbox mode and so many other mode types. I still have to get used to adjusting difficulty in multiplayer games.
Felt too lmao. Doesn't help I have around 100 GB worth of Sims 4 cc
i actually always thought it was there since some ppl are allergic or sensitive to MSG
my fav SDV mod will always be the tractor
It's honestly really nice. I loved that there was also a setting for fishing in specific, too
naur, shiny ponyta horse
nooo tractor go broom broom
Right now I'm playing on vanilla normal for everything but I'm tempted to do a hardcore playthrough since I haven't died yet.
okay but replacing my scarecrows with cats
it's a must have for me. theyre very cute
Yeees I always use this mod!
i replaced my scarecrows with Idas witchy scarecrows and they're great
I need this
im watching a witchy run on YT and the recolour is sooo much better
its less saturated and bright so easy on the eye
yep! i dont think it's super common, but yeah. so im glad there's an alternative for folks who like ramen but can't have MSG! Plus, i always thought Nissin ramen tasted better 😂
yess, I have a few recolor, mostly because the snow hurts my eyes on PC, but its not that bad on switch lol
I mean that kind of stuff is always fun!
Oh the MSG fear mongering... but yeah like Ori said I'm guessing it's also for those who have allergies
What is MSG anyway? Isn't it just like a special kind of alternative to salt?
Sort of, its a flavor enhancer.
It's like a flavour enhancer/booster
I remember MSG used to make me really sick as a kid but I think I outgrew it or something.
ofc! surprisingly, the way i found out about it and looked a bit more into it, is because someone had an allergic reaction to it on an episode of New Girl 😂
It's also found naturally in foods like tomatoes and I think mushrooms.
You guys really make me want to order out Chinese tonight lol. I love egg drop soup.
Yeah, there was a time in my country everyone was terrified of using it. Now most households do.
Chinese takeout is always good
at least the cucumber guy on TT is dispelling the msg worries lol
it has been in the teens (Fahrenheit) all week as well so it's the perfect weather for it.
ahhh Uncle Roger!
I love americanized Chinese takeout but egg snot soup is the one thing I can't do 😭
I will still drink soup in my 90F weather
I get it, not for everyone. I will eat anything that's either delicious and/or nutritious.
im sure we call egg drop soup, sweet and sour soup in the UK
weather is crazy, it was -4 a few days ago here and now it's like 40. hwhat?
Northern Hemisphere people be like:
fr 😭
Oh no I just remembered I need to refill the hot tub too because the water levels have been so low
but I may be going down to Florida soon where it's just going to be nice for a week for the rest of "winter" until I want to die from heat stroke
Btw, @dry swift , hope youre feeling even better!
lmao mother nature always be doing the most
Thank you! I am actually completely better. Turns out the flu has been going around. My daughter is almsot better but wife just got it so I'm playing nurse for her and working while my parents are watching the baby today.
Yeah, there's something going around for sure. I'm pretty sure I had a chest cold or something, along with allergies and something else 😂 im also getting better! I mainly just have a cough that's taking a bit to shake off!
Hope your wife gets better soon!
When you have a family, it just becomes a fact of life that someone will always be sick with something haha.
especially with young kids in nursery/primary school
i have child with snotty nose and im holding them at arms length
I only live with my brother, and... yeah. Or if i see him get sick, im like "well crap. i know im about to be sick." And it always hits me harder
He shook off whatever this was in like 2 days. and here i am, a week later... 😂
I'm manic, so whenever I get sick I just get angry and more productive out of pure spite.
i will say, thanks to me being sick for this long, it's helped me get off soda and now im like "well i feel like i can stick with water now" 😂
omg hi fellow bpd sufferer, its me, the angry cleaning goblin too 🤣
How DARE you make me less productive!
productive? what's that? 👁👄👁
I get to the point where if I see a sink full of dishes I HAVE to clean them.
good morn passes around coffee and tea
angry cleaning doesn't mean things get cleaned, it just means my autism and adhd finally canceled eachother out and SOMETHING gets cleaned and the rest is worse somehow
oh y'all are sick? leaves
lmao jk. good day to all of you and happy gaming ❤️ its finally friday!!

lmaooo no herp was sick but now fine and now I think we're just talking about our various issues lmao
Yeah lol. I was gonna take the day off of work but my boss is also somehow sick so here I am.
It be like that sometimes.
i have adhd so my cleaning days are...interesting from and outsider's view to say the least 😆 clean one thing in the bathroom, then see the dust on something in the bedroom and gotta get that, and then grab the vacuum to get the hallway. i look like an unorganized madlady but there's somewhat a method to the madness, promise 😂 😂
Dusting... ._. that's the one thing I definitely don't do enough.
lmao yep, this is just how my life in general goes haha
I hate dusting just because I'm really allergic to dust and will be sneezing the entire day but it's also why I have to do it
I dust my office maybe once a week but we live in an old house so it's just always there xD
yep that's me with dust, grass and cats. Literally nobody can ever tell me to touch grass cause I can literally say I'm allergic to it haha
me too. and i live in such a dusty area, and it sucks. no matter what i do, dust is around
I either don't clean for days or I end up doing an entire scrubbing of the house.
I feel like we need a housekeeper sometimes, but my bank account tells me that we're the housekeeper.
As someone who used to have a housekeeper, felt
if i had a housekeeper, i'd be cleaning all the time so that they don't think of my poorly
I have the same thoughts. I need to have money to hire a personal assistant to take care of the stuff that adhd doesn't want me to get done 😂
I also cook the dinners and do the laundry and try to spend at least an hour with my daughter after work so it's hard to find time for that kind of stuff.
same and felt.
My mom raised me on her own so I really admire parents for that. Hardest and often unappreciated job.
please do not, I used to be a housekeeper (very short job) but we absolutely do not judge. If you saw what the "cleaning" room of the housekeeping office looked like, you'd be judging us
I honestly don't know how single parents do it. I feel blessed to have a partner that contributes.
When I was a kid I was afraid of housekeepers because I thought they would take my house
As someone who was raised by a single dad, it depends on the parent. Sometimes they are not doing it at all lol
Thankfully my grandparents were also a great support but yeah, I know not everyone has that luxury either.
I think having a big social support system definitely helps. I consider myself incredibly lucky that my family all lives in the same state and my parents are 10 minutes away and love watching our daughter.
houseKEEPING
i moved into a dirty apartment at the beginning of last year, the landlord's response after I asked why it wasn't cleaned before we moved in was that "everyone has their own preferences of cleanliness" (I could easily wipe pasta sauce on the stove, like literally nothing was done). the apartment has gorgeous hardwood floors that were absolutely filthy so that's is the only time I did myself a favor and hired cleaners to wipe down everything before we officially moved in. BLESS that line of work honestly, angels. saved me so much time and stress
I hate slumlords with every fiber of my being, I'm sorry that happened to you.
A small minority of people do just let something nice to go waste unfortunately. I think most of us try to put the effort in to maintain what we do have. It's a lot of work, but all that cleaning is better for your phyiscal and mental health so it ends up being worth the time investment.
Also knowing what you can manage helps. I know it would be nigh-impossible for me to take care of my parents' farm because it takes 2-3 hours just to mow the lawn.
The house we have takes 30 minutes with a push mower tops and I don't think I could go back to spending a good part of my week mowing lol
oh derp that's when you bring the goats in. 2-3 hours to mow? no no no
It was a very scary time for me, babysitters were also scary because I thought they sat on children. And I got in trouble in kindergarten cause I said I love kid-"napping" only to learn that is not what it meant
mow and fertilize at the same time
we have a big lawn and takes 2 hrs to mow too
takes 4 to shovel
the driveway but we said nvm that this year and have a guy that comes to plow if it storms but if the snow is low enough we can shovel real fast (or at least where the dogs wanna go
)
I also vote goats, but only a few. they will eat everything and go looking for more. You'd probably only need 2 or 3 goats
Mow grass? No no, scold grass. I haven't had grass since we scolded it
love goats 🐐 their so chaotic
They'd probably get into the gardens unfortunately XD Still love goats.
lmao I remember everyone burning their lawns before the wildfires when we were in Cali. I'd never seen it done before, I thought it was cool
sad why people have to do it there, but cool to watch controlled fire when you're a pyro lol
Our neighbor was smart and got a four-wheeler with a plow on it. Might have to follow suit in a few years.
late to the party cause i had to do my morning routine but im super lazy with cleaning. ill see the mess and just, not clean it 💀
and goats are amazing. i have yet to see one irl tho
You should add pygmy goats to your bucket list of animals to visit at a farm. They're hilarious.
ooo thanks for the suggestion! i have yet to put one together myself
I know in the state where I live, there's an animal sanctuary where you can pay to drive your vehicle through and pet/feed all the animals they have there like Buffalo, Emu, Bulls, Llamas, etc. My wife's car still has the dent on the side from one of the longhorns bumping into it. 😂
This immediately just made me think of Jeremy Clarkson buying sheep to mow the pastures in his farm
omg that sounds amazing
i'll never forget when i went to the petting zoo at the zoo, and my mum and i just watched this goat steal everyones wallets and start eating them. they rly thought putting their wallet in their back pocket was smart when going to a petting zoo with goats
It's called Hidden Valley animal adventure if you ever find yourself in upstate NY.
There's a few drive through places like that everywhere, you can look up outdoor animal sanctuaries and that's usually how they let visitors in. Some places make you drive their "safari vehicles" though which is fun sometimes lol
(that day was also unforgettable because in us being distracted by that, my brother decided to run off. we thought he went to go to the train that goes around the zoo, but we were wrong. we eventually found him at the gift shop, running out and exclaiming with joy, "I found christmas!!!!") 😂
Anyways, how about that Palia guys? My favorite line was when he said "It's Palia time!", then Palia'd all over the place.
I'm totally talking about Palia, they should add golf carts after Elderwoods so we can take safari trips
We have sentient smiling clouds and hot dog costumes, so what is immersion worth at this point?
we were clearly giving examples of animals that could be included in the animal husbandry in the game. and the cleanliness topic was us reflecting on how nice it is not to have to clean our palia homes. see we were totally on topic
that's what I'm sayin
ah yes of course! We should have a dust cleaning/dishes washing minigame for our house.
no I already do too much cleaning up around Palia, don't make me do more
but to access those mini games you have to dish out IRL money to have a duster and a washing machine

Fridays just hit different.
I'm surprised nobody edited a "Y" in between the Pa and lia to make it Paylia yet.
You haven't seen Paid?
oh true! I forgot about that one.
Whalia would also be a good one. Because that's who S6's target audience is.
I think I’ve seen that actually!
How are you?
I’m doing okay! Okay-ish I think
How do you do? :o
this 15 sec cooldown is killing me here
I'll be good in 10 minutes when my lunch starts. Just one of those days that feels a little overwhelming but we'll power through it
Question 🙋♀️ I read and reacted to the trading channel’s pinned post but still can’t comment. There’s just a “done reading? Go here” link that brings me to this channel. What do I do?
Sorry for the silly question, but you 100% reacted to this msg? #🤝│trading message
Just making sure. If you did, you can un-react to it and react again to see if it'll give you the role after that. And if it still doesn't work, then i'd contact modmail so they can give you the role manually!
[Sometimes it also just takes a reload of your discord app since they pushed an update recently and it's acting funky]
@fiery perch @olive carbon
Read the post, opened wiki links just in case, reacted (even unreacted, re reacted)
And closed Discord and re opened
!modmail I'd contact modmail and let the mods know that the role isn't working for you!
Hey there!
This looks like something you can reach out to the mods for help! You can contact them via ModMail, a bot that will set up a private conversation with the team.
To use ModMail, DM @daring cosmos (that can also be found at the top of our member list).
It will walk you through the process to reach out to the mod team. If you are in multiple servers utilizing ModMail, please make sure to select Palia.
Thanks!

Hmmm it’s not letting me dm, “used I have no access to”
Are you sure you're trying to DM the Modmail and not the Paliabot itself?
Make sure youre trying to DM @daring cosmos itself! And it should give instructions on how to reach out to the modteam through it. (I know it can be weird for some though
)

If copy user ID on the highlighted number the bot gives?
paliabot not now 😂
idk why i read this as palm
That time the link actually took me to message modmail, but am I messaging the app in that case? Do I need to download the app ModMail for it to work?
@tranquil nest forgive the ping friend but it seems we're having trouble with the trading bot as well as messaging modmail- would you be able to direct?
No, you dont need to download anything. It works just as if youre direct messaging someone
Ok I’ll give it a try lol
The trading bot reacts and such have been struggling as of late, so this type of thing is fairly common. Hope you can get that sorted!
HELLO!! Sorry I just came back from making breakfast, I'll have a look into things
Hope you enjoy your breakfast! Appreciate you!
Thank you very much! Seems to be increasingly common currently so maybe it's something you can get ahead of! Enjoy brekkie 🐦🔥
I do the same thing
I just said this the other day
sippin and scannin the news
no but i do this when i wake up all the way until after breakfast xD
I'm still lazing in bed, caught up with you nerds now to get caught up with the Alan Wake server im in
I keep seeing :duck: :no_entry_sign: is typing
hey sorry maybe yall have already sorted this but last time i tried to use modmail i had a similar issue and turns out all i had to do was open DMs for the server (after all if i have them close the bot won't be able to message me). hope this helps!
This makes me laff every time
The name or Alan drinking coffee LOL
Short update - I think we got the trading role react fixed, but do let me and the team know if it borks again
Fixed for me, thanks! 🙏
what's the most efficient way to be able to do all those epic fish parties without spending too much time every day playing the game
mostly i'm trying to achievement hunt but it seems to take a while to get lots of starred rice

No worries at all- that's why we're here! Good luck and happy trading
I have no idea why they make you jump through hoops to go to that channel but eh

I wish I had as much faith in anything as S6 does in monetizing a broken game
vinyls.... are you serious lmao
limited edition vinyls mind you
idk how i feel about it being limited edition, but i have suggested in the past that music/soundtrack/vinyl stuff wouldn't be a bad idea for merch. better than ""Coffee"".
Yes, because whenever I talk to my buddy who has also been a gamer for 20+ years, I go "Man, Palia's got such a banger of a soundtrack." (Disclaimer: I do not say that.)
i dont care for palia's soundtrack personally, but i know other people do.
i dont think people even own vinyl players unless they have disposable money and know someone who can repair them incase something goes wrong. which could be really hard
It's just. I don't even see this level of merchandising out of complete, working games, it's just kind of wild to see this out of a "beta" game that breaks if you sneeze too hard
ppl who get vinyls dont always listen to them. some ppl just collect them bc they like the game or the artwork on said vinyl. or it's just something they enjoy to collect as a whole
Is this also one of the things that WC is in charge of as the Manager of Finance or w/e his title is?
yeah true
That's a whale harpoon for sure
wait they dont even have artwork for it yet? .....that's the whole point of the vinyl cover...
I've been tempted to get some of the FFXIV vinyls despite not owning a vinyl player because the artwork is so gorgeous on them
but uhh yknow that game is actually a....full game
yeah idk i dont rly mind this. i mean i think it's a bit "early" to have it, since theyre still working on Elderwood (unless they plan on doing different editions), but
I feel like it at least makes more sense than ""Coffee"", at the very least
oh my god I love that phrasing for it
character figurines seem more reasonable imo
Also Palia has like... 3 maps in the entire game and I don't honestly ever play with the music on but I'm pretty sure they have less than 12 songs in the entire game, also counting the "music" on the gramophone you get from that one rummage quest.
they aren't even available to pre-order yet. only notifications when you can get it
but yeah idk I know different teams and all but all the merchandising just feels in bad taste considering the state of the game, it's like they want to lean more on the IP instead of the game itself
yeah. i play with the sound off too cause it feels like the music repeats very often or its just... dead silent fora majority before the music suddenly plays. kinda like modern minecraft
Bet the image is the same from the Elderwood dev blog from mo this ago
I remember the music being pretty if kind of forgettable but it wouldn't even play half the time anyway so idk, it ended up being one of those games I turned off music completely on and put Spotify on
I mean... what if this whole thing just ends up being S6 trying to make back as much of the money as they can to investors/Daybreak and then when EW is suppsoed to come out they just go "Oh, hey guys! Sorry but we're actually going to moonlight the game because we don't have enough money. Tough break! 🤷 "
That one
idk, like again, you cant preorder it yet. it's just signing up so you can know when you can purchase/preorder it. theyre just going "hey btw we're working on this" essentially
I mean... yeah. I think I'd rather listen to the Runescape OST than Palia's any day of the week. Also Guild Wars 1 has an amazing soundtrack.
Maybe that
Though I'm sure artstation has tons of concept for elderwoods on it I'm lazy
I'm just
wondering what the price is gonna be and how limited it's gonna be
at least they're only tying the digital OST to it and not a pet/piece of furniture/skin
love artstation
honestly elderwoods better look like the promotional pics and teasers we've seen so far
is the OST downloadable/purchasable seperately at this point?
yea, like i dont mind it. it doesnt look like it'll have any pet or anything attached to it. i dont rly like the limited edition thing, but im hoping it'll just... be limited edition on the art on said vinyl, and they'll bring it back or something. but shrug.
You know it won't just like most the stuff doesn't match
It looks very pretty but--- Yeah, what Diskette said, we know how the game is with concept art vs implementation
The messed with tau to look like a fox over a hound
I thought he was a purple fox for ages
and "is the switch going to be able to handle all that foliage"
(I love the switch, and I love you switch players, I do not love how this game runs on it LOL)
It is pretty impressive how S6 always somehow manages to turn every patch into a dumpster fire.
Literally the only thing I cared for in this patch was the tint. That was it. (and I guess the ducks but moreso for the drama they caused than anything else)
But I sure love old bugs being brought back from the dead in what seems every single patch now.
It's sad to see I would like to hold out hope that maybe they will fix it and stop pushing pay wall at us but... I doubt it honestly... They cared more about ducks than making it playable
but hey remember kids, paylia is for everyone unless you have a disability... That and they will continue to use assets in promotional marketing that you can't have
The only game I don't think I ever turn the music off in is Hades. And maybe Stardew.
I'm listening to the Gravity Circuit OST right now. But I'll listen to OST's from the Megaman X series all the time.
at least elderwood will look pretty
hopefully it will be playable as well
also speaking of OST's, i highly recommend listening to Cassette Beasts. chef kiss
I also recommend the game as a whole
That would be great! ✨️
Honestly bug catching and mining give so little xp, it seems like it's useless to even participate in those skills
Sure! I don't see why not, but that would mean that S6 would actually have to take time to develop skills and lately they're all about implementing brand new systems that are barely put together.
catchrate increase is tied to the bugbelt so it basically does that already
and most of the time most bugs are one hit anyways (+ with every hit the catchrate increases on the bug u want to catch, to prevent that u can get unlucky and need 100 bugbombs for one bug)
Oh and I forgot to mention Mario and Luigi Bowsers Inside Story
That was meant to be a reply but oh well....
I wonder what the lowest rated xp skill is. I bet it's mining tbh. Idk about fishing since I don't fish
Bosses like a RTB Matriarch or a Bahari Bee swarm Queen would be a cool expansion on bug catching. Players needing different types of bug bombs and the more progress you make on the boss, the more rare insects will spawn to assist them. At the end of the Boss event you get a chance to also capture a gilded glass case version of the boss itself to sell or put in your house.
I feel Nikki has a better skill tree in that sense. There's no levels, but you get insight instead in order to unlock bonuses on the skill tree (called the Infinity Heart). However, the game also gives you the possibility to exchange resources obtained from each skill for insight, which is a great feature imo since it doesn't exclude players and is very balanced atm.
$10 for the soundtrack? dang, why so cheap?
Just a concept for a daily/weekly world boss-kind of deal that would give players a chance to catch rare bugs in addition to the boss and actually create fun group content instead of the same boring hot pot/animal plushie hunt.
to be fair, 10 usd for soundtracks is the usual for (most) games
Youtube and Spotify are free 🙂
this is true. but if you were wanting to buy it and support the artists, 10 usd is the usual
And discord bots too if you don't want adds
