guess the galdur pup were not the first and not the last legacy/seasonal/limited whatever premium shop items
now that daybreak is in charge we can probably just yeet everything that was promised before july
as long as its "only" recolors okay, still fomo, sucks, but at least its not a completely new new pet which would suck even more, but in the end both suck
(this will probably not age well, can already see a limited halloween outfit incoming for next patch
)
Idk maybe I see seasonal different
like sure I didn't get x item this hoilday but at least it comes back next year so I can get it then
Like in wow the heartbreaker mount I didn't get it this year but since it's seasonal there is always next year, that is my white whale in the mount collection
It's a beta so why not just leave everything available with a re run for drop items instead of just throwing it into zeki or hot pot god forbid they add it to maji claw machine
Like there are alot of people who want palia to work out but are staying away until it's released. Maybe I live in a dream world where they will rerun things once they... If they ever make it to release
Can someone explain how twitch drops work for me? I know you get rewards after so many watch hours but when does it start/end/ reset?
Beta's just a convenient buzz word at this point when things go wrong. For all intents and purposes this is a fully released game.
when drops are active u simply watch a palia streamer of ur choice and it will count your hours which u can check in ur twitch drop inventory(where u are also able to link ur palia acc and claim said drops)
once claimed they will pop up in ur news tab ingame
the current twitch drop campaign ended ~2 hours ago
we will probably get another twitch drop campaign with the next patch in the next 2 weeks
Ty!
I mean, I get your point tbh. For me it's just the fact that they promised that they wouldn't run the shop like that, so it just feels weird, for lack of better words. ..And for me, at least, I feel like it's different when it's something that costs real money versus WoW, where things are worth in-game currency.
@lyric night yeah, it's sorta what i expect too tbh. and like, again, if it's just recolours, it isnt as bad ... even though i feel like the galdur pup that they put out atm is bordering on the 'new' and 'recolour' line. But that might just be a me thing lol
Yeah over all it's a total... How to word is nicely... A low pp move
I hope it was just a famous s6 typo but... We know the hard truth
I'm still hoping the do use and abuse F2p options I know they won't but like eugh. It drives me bonkers since sorry to say it some of the fits shouldn't cost anything in the store (personal opinion nor do I think the work put into them should be ignored but they ain't worth the money when they could be a cool quest reward)
that wording
It made me giggle because ive been fixating on pokemon stuff (I mean that's the usual, but... it's moreso lately), so all i can think about is pp from pokemon moves hahaha
But yeah, it's just the whole promise/wording thing that bugs me personally the most. and i mean, if it is seasonal and not like... actually limited, where this is the only time you can ever get it, not even at next spooky season... then that's at least, uh, better to some degree
Some of the outfits i feel/felt like could of been used as earnable cosmetics via skills :(
I'm glad we agree on this I'm so use to getting so much hate on that hot take
oh yeah, no, this is one of the things i've talked about (earnable cosmetics, more free options) in discussions quite a bit.
like, yeah i admittedly bought the builders outfit very very early on, bc that's what i really enjoyed doing at the time (still do to an extent), but it would of been a lot cooler & fitting to earn that outfit (or something similar) via the skill and leveling it up haha
I mean most of palia makes 0 sense let's be real. I don't super care that some pixels are not in line with the... Whatever to call it lore to good of a word for it. But why even bother limiting or seasonal in palia... We have plots to do what we want on what if I want a spooky house all year round and wanna dress the part it's my money let's me have fun with it if you gonna up charge
Not me spamming s6 weekly for in game earn able items for guild coins or renown or friendship....
I will die on my hill of a plumehound pet from tau quest friendship line that requires daily care to gain it's trust
Even add nods to community users... It's a small thing but when you are lacking in the community aspect it could mean alot to the players
Tbh, I still think it would be nice to add earnable cosmetics that work with the lore.
I still always loved the idea of, since we're just being introduced to the world, etc... the first free clothes are more "modern" and stuff... then eventually through friendship, or even a tailoring skill, being introduced to the culture and stuff, and getting clothes that match that and their lore overtime.
Woudl also mean it'd make sense to a degree as to why the premium shop has outfits that doesnt fit.
I've heard quite a few concepts for how to get a free pet
it just would be neat, just based off the fact that the feature could be fleshed out and stuff
A little pet that can help pick up items for you-- which would also help in regarsd to how osmetimes loot bags appear in the ground or air ..
that bug will never be fixed it drives me insane

What's great about this is that it's technically already in the game. Tau gives the player little things he finds all the time.
lookie at what i spotted running amok in my whimsical forest!! a blasted BRIGHT EYES!! i need to tell Elouise of this!!
Yeah it's definitely a missed opportunity for another cool system - but at this point I'm pretty sure S6 just doesn't have the technical know-how or the manpower to actually create much of anything new unfortunately.
if you wish to spot the little devil yourself he's been lurking around on my tours plot causing havoc and scaring my sernuk!! he's even scaring my muujin and chappa's!!
I think #1267963034110922904 would be a better spot for the screenshots š
wanting ppl to discuss my idea's on my plot and make comments, not neccisarily trying to asf for ratings, i've posted a ton of progress on my plot here aswell so..
Absolutely. Doesn't need to be any crossover with the premium store honestly so you'll know people have "earned" the outfits but it would be so nice to have some free rewards from investing a lot of time into leveling skills or acquiring medals, or otherwise completing long questlines.
Wait that is so STINKIN CUTE, I love them doin a peek in the leaf pile
ty hehe, got a ton of my plushies peaking out and scattered around to add life to my forest i got going on!
and i got the bright eyes statue from el- and was like "what am i even gonna do with this??" then about 4 weeks ago i started on my plot for tours and was like " hmmmm... leaves and statue here.. yes"
That's what the showcase is for though?
show case is mostly showing other peoples plots and asking what a certain item is or asking for votes most of the time, besides this is a palia discussion channel, i'm talking about palia, hence why i'm using this channel, i've been doing so for weeks now and havent had a complaint love.
This is the message it showed me when I logged on and Iām 5k rests deep on SS for a shiny starter lol
wait, which version are you trying to shiny starter hunt?
I wish theyād just add vine decor to the game, Iām tired of trying to position trees perfectly to peak thru my wall š
It donāt even wanna work for me š¦
maybe soon, who knows
Pls š
I still haven't received the log in rewards mentioned on the 11th, and before that the last time i logged was a few days before that where the game kept crashing on me, I've logged in the last couple of days to check out the mentioned rewards, but there hasn't been any
any word on this?
I had no problem receiving them. If you're on Steam, they can sometimes take a little longer to show up under your news button, but they should never take more than 24 hours to appear.
yes i'm on Steam too
finally showed up, so nm
I think the market is broken for me again š
The gate is gone and I can't enter the instance
market isn't even open anymore

O ok
Anyone else feel like the calling out of random materials is getting a bit excessive and taking away from the actual gameplay? I can understand like if you make a new friend on the server and your helping them or you playing with a group and using the game chat. But, you dont need to call out every single little thing you find all game. Its excessive. This leads players to ridiculing others or calling them out for mining stuff and not flaring, or chopping down trees and not "waiting for others." There is nothing wrong with being courtesy but the culture is just getting a bit excessive and changing what the game is.
I personally only call out pal ore and flo trees
palium i can understand calling out, since it's a rare material that people actively seek out and my not be using the ore compass. singular flow trees on the other hand i never call out and i will actually take them if they are small enough for me to do so on my own. but, then again, i don't really call out anything as i don't know if i was the first person to find something or it's been harvested before me, and i would hate to have someone run half way across the map only to be disappointed
dari cloves i can also see being called out since they are a rare item as well
^ right but like people calling out every SINGLE palium they find, like just walk around mining, i literally find TONS of it everywhere for just playing a little bit. Its not hard to find and you don't need to call out every small palium ore u find ever. It makes me feel like i can't just play the game or im doing something wrong every time i mine something.
oh, totally agree with you that small pal is a waste of a call and flare
i can understand dari cloves, or like say you find 2 large palium next to something and its like WOAH, but it does feel a bit excessive at times, and someone yelled at me for mining stuff they flared, but like im not gonna stand around not mining something i happened to come across cause you put it in chat...
the only thing that i will actually call out is the grove if i find it first, and that's only after i've got my hits in and checked what the epic spawn was
like just mine it and move on, you'll find more, honestly theres nothing in the game THAT rare thats worth attacking someone over
the ores stay around for three minutes after it's been mined, there is literally no reason to hang around and wait anymore
and low key palium like
I have a billion palium and nothing to even use it for. There isn't enough content in the game anyway for the rare stuff. There is nothing in the game, that the rare stuff is a MUST get every time like need it so badly.
SS!
soul silver? sorry, been a while since i've seen the old abbreviations
Yep!
ah, okay. my first gut hit honestly when i saw ss was sword/shield and i was like hold up, aren't the starters shiny locked? which is why i was questioning it
I'll call out/flare large pal nodes, but small and mediums I'll just mine on the spot
I honestly will flare and call a pal node for the mine with x people weekly challenge. If someone has a problem helping me out with that, thatās on them. They can ignore the whole thing.
You can also turn off chat, server hop, or just block players that are chatting "too much" if that's your play style. I tend to call out all nodes if I know at least one or two other folks are mining in the server- even small pal nodes give gems so if someone's gem hunting they want to find and tap all the nodes
I know because I still don't have a starred ruby after 85+ levels of mining, so I try to help others out as much as I can!
I've felt this way since the earliest tests, and it used to be far worse with people actively harassing solo players who just want to do their thing and move on.
I didnt know Hekla was into that.. they want me to give them a chub. Oh my
stuck on validating purchase screen.. does it ever load?
Steam? Make sure you have the overlay turned on in Steam's global settings as well as Palia's properties in Steam.
This may have been posted before, but is this intentional or a mistake being written bottom to top? š¤ (Potential spoiler if people haven't been to the tower or are aware of the Maji alphabet)
tower?
dont u go bottom to top
Both settings are turn on.
stuck still..
Don't use windows fullscreen. fixed my issue
Has anyone finished the tower and if yes how long did it take to do.
some ppl speed run it/get the time achieve
Arround 30 min the first time I completed it.
But I did try a lot before managing to succeed.
Yeah it took me a bit to get to the mushroom thing in photo above but I fell then I couldnāt get back up to that point again haha
if uāre that kind, everytime u see pal, shout for ppl who looking for ruby, ruby doesnt matter with any size of pal
I solo play, so I flare the palium I find, but I donāt always put it in chat. I like quiet servers typically, so if Iām the only one talking, I feel Iām being disruptive/annoying. Other times, Iām in very active servers so I can see whoās searching for what, and if I stumble upon it, Iāll call it out for them.
My biggest pet peeve are people that donāt use party or nearby chat for certain things. Like, must you bother the entire server? Excessive chatting can be disruptive with the chat box constantly opening up. Iāve had to server hop or mute people that just wonāt SHUT. UP. š And Iām not referring to people asking game related questions or calling out palium/flow trees.
Yeah but like thatās what the chatās for
(I say this because Iām absolutely one of those people)
Plus I think there's an option to turn off chat completely for people who like to be left alone
I knew this was coming, so with that, I shouldnāt have to disable chat entirely (because I use and need it, too) simply because I find someone being annoying.
Which is why I said that I mute people or server hop. That doesnāt mean my pet peeve is invalid.
If Iām visiting a friendās plot, like actually on their plot and not the home tours, I switch to nearby chat because thereās no reason the whole server needs to see our conversation about whatever weāre discussing. š¤·š½āāļø Thatās just my thoughts, and back to being a hermit in this server I go. āš¾
So when people are on the same server as their friends but opposite sides of the map, not in a community together and in separate parties like what are they supposed to do? Just not talk to eachother? Chat is there to chat. Yea i get it can be annoying but there's ways to deal with that
Whisper don't count. It's in game DMs and only you n that 1 person can see it. Can't whisper to a group
I'm actually sad chat isn't more active IG, I was honestly hoping for a chat like I'm used to in wow, aka constantly chatting about things, asking for stuff, and LFG.
I get that in palia there's not much to LFG about but like sometimes it's nice to just see people chat.
The only problem is that if you turn off chat it doesn't completely turn off, and even if you do stream chat off it sometimes still toggles on. You should be able to like minimize the chat window and not see it if you don't want it, and then just toggle it back easily.
When people are talking about what they are going to make for dinner IRL and how Bobby got a A in math or what their dog is doing , that is very annoying. That should be whispered idc. I shouldn't have to go out of my way to not see it when it has nothing to do with the game.
Thats not what I said at all or even insinuated, but okay. I even stated in my previous comment before that one that I was not referring to game related conversations. But as NaeNae said, when itās unrelated to the game, it CAN be disruptive to other players. Telling people to ādisable chatā is not a productive solution because they use it, too. As someone who is hyper aware of her surroundings, I just try to be mindful, in general. Hell, I disabled the chat function that tells you when friends go online/offline because I found it disruptive.
That's why I wish Kilima was more of a "social hub" and less of an "adventure zone."
Like I didn't want it super crowded, but I think a server population of around 100 people would have gone a long way.
Maybe bahari city would be more appropriate for that šš. Future zone
Also global chat š
The fact that they donāt have a global chat or multiple global chat groups is just sad.
They use a paid chat platform.. it supports up to 2000 players per chat.
Wait what now i'm really getting so mad at Palia Sing6 , so mad, i just realized that someone told me some object , trees etc counting on other plots too, no wonder my limit onto my mainplot was going that high and empty plots counting allready like 500+ onto the decor limit.
This makes no sense to me atall, why they giving you on each plot a limit of 3000 when you allready getting over 500+ so far and will get higher and higher when placing stuff onto other plots , really they need todo something bout this issue, people wants to place onto their empty plots what they like to have , if they giving you 3000 decor limit onto each plot start with 0 /3000 on new plots and not with 500+ or even more when i'm done with my second plot now
!support make sure you report this bug like most of us do š . Hopefully they will fix it.
It's an old bug, since they introduced growing trees. If not older.
Here's a link to the Player Support: http://support.palia.com/
Oh you mad bout that too or? Oh i will send in a ticket trust me i will for sure
This bug is so old I'm past mad š
There's a list pinned in gen chat with items that count on all plots, not just trees.
Ye but its not fair , my mainplot missing some items and putting all in your storage is not helping eihter all seeds etc, you have only 10000 and that is not enough and 300 on the locked ones
ye i have that link too
everybody who notices gets mad. some more some less.
but, since they still didnt add it to their list of known bugs, I start to doubt they'll change anything.
Its also the working stations etc but i see only trees , seeds, working station but nothing else
Ye but still i hope they got tons of tickets of this issue, its just not fair, when you have lets say 3 plots finished and going to your 4 the and barely have decor left to place lol.
And i have only the trees on second plot and trees growing onto my backup plot , i don't have that much working stations up and on second plot only one tent, mainplot i have 2
What should i choose for the ticket Decor and furniture or the housing and edit access?
Oh you're going to get mad about plenty more things soon enough, don't worry lol
Loot falling through the ground... Glambis teleporting into rocks... There's plenty of bugs that have been around since the earliest days of this game š¤£
tbh this makes me giggle at this point. it used to frustrate me, and now i just laugh about it when i see it hahaha
let's not forget the fact that s6 said that these types of bugs have been fixed (stating them in patchnotes even) and they still persist
OH that i know lol
Just filling in a ticket atm lol
Its saying in there on top from SING6 It's okay not to provide solutions! Just let us know the details of your experience, and how it made you feel.
Oh they can read how i'm feeling bout it
Still being polite not swearing etc but they will know how i'm feeling bout that bug for sure hehehehe.
I don't think they ever received that long ticket text lol lol
I always find myself into the problem of being a solo player but not being good at the game quite yet so i never dare ask help in chat bc its always quiet
Please, ask away, whether thatās in game or in Discord. I was referring to non Palia related banter that can happen.
That's what discord calls are for if you're playing with friends.
Ye thats partially why i joined the discord xd
I can guarantee they've had longer, I know someone who sent in several pages of feedback once
Of the same one i had now
Or other issues
Both! I personally have sent quite a few long tickets and feedback reports. A lot of folks (especially here in discussions) have as well.
Oh my
šŖ
š¤£
My feedback doc from pre-alpha was like 36 pages long
And how much of that did they actually listen to
Very little lol
To be fair though at this point there could have been changes I'm fully unaware of that happened somewhere along the line.
A lot of it was very basic stuff... Like there needs to be an option to scroll back through past dialogue if you missed stuff, or some kind of log that you can look back in.
Changing the default interact hotkey to E since it's way safer and better for your long-term health to move your finger in a natural motion rather than hyper extending it...
But then others were more specific things like making the pond you have on your home plot an actual item you can move around instead of it being static in this giant "dead space" you can't do anything with.
Anybody not get the 4th refer a friend reward-the chapaa fountain?? They gave me pants instead š
reach out to player support they will be able to send u the item, just attach needed screenshots, so ur news tab message that shows the wrong reward and ur account page which shows the progress on ur refs
late response, because I just got out of bed: I mean no hostility in saying this, but... please don't take call-outs for granted. Just appreciate them for the kind gesture they are, instead of suggesting that I/others who do the same as me aren't calling out enough. :/
unpopular opinion: lets stop trying to make ppl follow made up rules
Thatās valid. Youāre more than likely to get a response here, anyway.
Yup, i never get a response in the game chat lol
Uggggh, I forget this server and gifs. Le sigh
You assumed i was referring to game related conversations. It a freaking chat. Palia has ZERO rules. People can play however they wish. If people wanna talk across the map with friends thats fine.
have you guys played other games and seen their world/server chats? š¤ saying you can only talk about palia in the chat is.....like if you lived in an authoritarian state š
And people who dont know discord exists or dont have it for whatever reason? They just have to be lonely?
Theres no way people in 2024 don't use some sort of VOIP service..
theres ppl who cant use it for a myriad of personal reasons, including disabilities
Skype, RazerComs, Teamspeak, Discord,
if they are mute i understand but otherwise most platforms are free
Um me. Only discord cause i have friends who thus is my only contact with them now buy they don't play palia
health issues and disabilities encompass more difficulties than not being able to speak
We have people with disabilities. We have people who are on one voip service but not the other, we have people whose computers are on the verge of going up in flames and can't deal with both at the same time, and then we have people here that aren't tech savvy or are just of an age where you can't really expect them to understand current tech - the ones who have more than enough trying to understand and come to grips with the game itself and adding any other thing they need to keep track of on top of that is gonna be exceedingly rough for them.
Let's just say that while I am glad she has it and that my sis and I have managed to teach my mom both Discord and gaming, with the age she is in teaching her that has been an extreme test in patience. So I'm fully for people being able to use already integrated systems where possible so they don't have to learn even more at once.
rip whoevers pc' have already gotten damaged from driver crashes/etc
or just.. sometimes people dont like to be voicing (like me 90% of the time). or maybe they just became friends on the game, and ... i mean, at least for me, i dont feel comfy voicing with said person immediately.
Still years after introducing her to discord I still have help her zoom out the interface whenever she's accidentally zoomed it in. Even after having done it a bazillion times. So yeah, at least for use cases like this, more ain't always better.
Also, what @fiery perch just said about not everyone being comfortable with voice chat.
For the record there are times when that chat window popping up constantly bugs me. Idgaf what they talking about though. But like i just ignore it. Its possible to just ignore it if it bugs you
if its impossible for you to ignore things that bother you maybe online games are not for you tbh
i can def undertand it being a pet peeve though. like, new world recently had overhaul so i started messing with it again earlier today ... god, did i need to mute that. So much chatter and banter
Or people ike me who are very shy and introverted and wont even VC with people ive known for ages
Yeah, unless the voice is important or something-- i usually prefer to just voice with those closest/best friends. Like the most inner of circles.
And even then, sometimes im like ... can we just type? thanks
But yeah, I can understand seeing random banter in the chat being annoying and a pet peeve, def. And i think it's also valid to mute/block them if it's something that is gettin' to ya. It is where, i kinda think it could help if there was a 'help' tab/chat window on Palia, where peopl ewho are asking questions and stuff (similar on discord server here), they can type there, and more ppl can answer
i know it wouldnt always be used, but i think that could be beneficial
Servers are a bit too small fo rthat i think, so it'd probably be better if it was more 'global' in a sense, or a larger player size, but ya
Haha yep friends will call me and I'll wait for it to hang up and then text and be like "can we just do this?"
I was playing fortnite the other day, while typing to my bestie cuz i just didnt feel like being in voice at the time
Haha maybe S6 should make an "off topic" in game. Like it would ever get used though

I love this 𤣠Why do we not reject calls but just politely wait for them to end? š¤£
oh i do this with my phone because i get nervous that they'll know i reject it, and then said person would feel bad rofl
I'd rather let it end on it's own, and then not long after im like "oh .. uh, yeah i wasn't there. sorry
... but on that note, i dont feel like voicing"
Cause i may be shy and introverted but I aint rude
although some people here might disagree
Yes the wait to text is important. And the lie that you missed the call also important
Let me also throw in my 2 cents about the general banter. I don't like the idea that people aren't gonna be able to banter in some kind of general chat. At least for a game like this that focuses around being cozy, I can imagine a situation where person A is busy picking oysters, and person B is hunting. A met B at the market a week back, and today they just saw each other on the coast, waved, and then started catching up while still doing their own thing... in which case nearby won't work. Expecting them to not talk seems unreasonable.
Then there's the constant talk I see about how whatever people do in chat vs. game it is never right. "You aren't flaring? Shame on you." - "You flaring everything? Shame on you." - "You only flaring the big ones? But I could use small ones, shame on you." - "You not calling out something I'm looking for? Shame on you" - "You calling out something I'm not looking for? Shame on you." There will never be a balance that suits everyone.
At the end of the day though, this is in my opinion a failing of the game, not its players. Going "I like the game this way, so other players should do it like I do" ain't a great way for a game as I see it, particularly not one like this. If anything, the failing is on the the design and the developers/designers. Maybe it could do with further separations of chat, maybe callouts could be made into an integrated mechanic of the game (firing flare at something auto-calls it out in a callouts channel?), and so on. But the whole thing of people should just talk shop and nothing else in game seems, in my opinion, unreasonable. Sounds more like a "play it my way or please just leave" kinda thing than a "let's consider how to make this more bearable for everyone".
My friends all know though thats what I do but none of them say a thing. Damn it kresjah you broke my comment in half
Ooh, this is again too relatable. š
iāve done the first part like A/B talk in general chat, usually itās quick or iāll meet up/party up and we do a little thing like fishing or something, i think if palia had whispers in the game itād help with that but idk if their gonna do it at all
If only we could just reject them. Unfortunately not everyone understands it isn't done as personal offense when you do it, and even those who do understand it don't always understand that you don't want to have to justify it.
you can whisper people in the game!
Palia has whispers, although in the example I made they'd continue doing their thing while being able to catch up. Of course, in one-to-one whispers are an alternative, but when it's three people or multiple separate groups there ain't an option.
oh can we? but you have to be friends, im talking about random ones
I don't care what other people do. Like i said earlier palia has ZERO rukes and everyone is free to play hiw they see fir. If I dont agree with it thats a me problem. Im a grown adult and i can deal by changing server, ignoring chat, whatever. Just cause play style is different doesn't mean its wrong. Sure I get annoyed cause im human but at the end of the day its bot worth wasting energy on
mmhm
NGL private chat is really difficult for me on Switch. I donāt remember how to do it with just text commands so I just default to community chat but what if one day I wanna speak to that random person from the market as you mentioned but I donāt want to clog up the main chat or I donāt know if the person will be comfy with me direct messaging them?
yeah i just hide chat tbh. Not only does that help eliminate my anxiety w/ the chat itself, but now i get amused watching floating nameplates everywhere with no names, since thats via the Streamer Mode
thatās funny
I giggle whenever i see a floating coffee cup
Cuz weāre 2 halves of 1 heart 𤣠Youāre the one person who I can trust that when you say you pocket dialled then you truly pocket dialled.
Oh yeah, I totally agree, and frankly I do much the same myself. Just throwing my 2 cents into the discussion about how chat is and how some feel like there should be limitations. I do think there are some things the developers could do to balance it a bit better to be more enjoyable/usable for multiple groups.
I'm joining that convo at a bit of a late stage, so I suppose some of it feels a bit disjointed from the initial convo š
That's fair. It seems to be a lot harder for Switch players, so being able to skip the extra hoops can be good thing.
Hi! I haven't been here in a while and want to hop in to say that I like it when chat is chatty while at our home plots. I feel like the nosey neighbor listening in to the party next door š Thats all ā„ļø
Thatās actually something that made me love Palia immediately. Yes there are days everyone in the server speaks a language I donāt understand and I wonder where I landed but most of the time itās not that big of a bother to change servers cuz come grove time people switch to English to be inclusive to all. Itās just so cute that everyone can do what they want but still care about the next person.
Iāve only ever changed servers be default cuz I visited friends or entered a new zone.
Yes and i have pocket dialed you many times and omg I die every time
Usually Iām not even near my phone but one day Iāll answer and kiss your ear
Oh I know it was more just a general like me backing what ya said kinda thing. Someone said that non palia chat the whole server can see is their pet peeve and they should use nearby. And well......I had things to say to that
I saw that bit and it's kinda what got my wall of text going. š
I also learned that I need a nameplate to be more noticeable to those with streamer mode or Iāll just be a background character in their movie š
Also, side-note on text chat over voice. Text chat lets me read over what I've typed and go "oof, yeah, this is bad" and rewrite it before sending. š
100% unrelated to ANYTHING being discussed. But does anyone who plays on Switch have decorating tips/hacks? I've managed to merge some objects by using the gourmet dinner plate on flat surfaces and selecting all, but I didn't know if there were other ways to get the same clipping effects people get on PC. Google wasn't helpful, nor was YouTube
Not a Switch player, but if you don't get tips from this channel you could try the https://discord.com/channels/809856101326913567/1142204717489983528 one. Lots of talented folks there, so you might have some luck there as well.
Didn't know that existed. Thank you kindly!!!
switch decorating is limited, as a lot of the other more flashy glitches require being able to switch between items on the hotbar while holding another item, which the switch version doesn't allow. though, if you have a friend that plays on pc, you might be able to do it that way
Is anyone else frustrated by the fact that gliders just don't show anymore along with the tool skins? Like why did I purchase skins if I can't consistently use them?
S6 disabled them due to the recent patch that made players crash. It should be fixed around the end of the month.
I see...I guess this means no more giving real life money to the game for awhile
They didn't even bother to disable them in the cash shop either, so you can still buy the things you can't actually use.
It's all leaving a pretty bad taste.
Well that is annoying - they should be discounting them heavily or at the very least crediting those who have purchased with some cash shop coins
This is honestly the most egregious part of it. The whole thing was bad, but that is the cherry on top.
If anything, pets should have been eliminated because they serve no in game purpose and I'm sure they contribute to crashing....
Who knows what's going on in the game's code at this point. It's a little alarming that apparently just rolling back the "hotfix" they did wasn't even an option.
I know exactly what you meant, which is why I said what I said. And I meant what said. Whether or not you, OR ANYONE, agrees or disagrees is on yall. I can still be irritated, which was my initial statement. Doesnāt make it wrong, and I never said they CANNOT talk period.
Iām not going to argue with strangers that I never have to play with because itās not that serious. Play how the hell you want. I just stated MY opinion, which is what we all do. ANYWAY
And where did i say you cant be irritated? I never did. If you actually even read further down I agree it can be irritating. You are allowed to be irritated, saying that other people should do XYZ so you aren't bothered is where the problem is
Fawn, I read what you said, and I never said someone should play it one way. Itās been a long work day, so have a blessed day. š¤āš¾
Keep your blessings
K
But if chat is bugging you THAT badly then just block for petes sake. I hate when others are talking during hotpot so i will block i do not care. I dont care for others calling out TONS of pal related items or the 15th freaking call out on a flow tree. i could care less but thats more of a me problem then expecting others to use local chat. There was a time where there wasnt a local chat so some people are just used to SHOUTING everything they say.
And thatās literally what I stated in my original comment š And then so many of yall took that as me being like āfolks canāt talk period.ā In game, when something/one annoys me, I just mute or server hop. I donāt make a big fuss. I just stated an opinion this morning, and it got blown out of proportion.
Do what you want. Talk, dont talk. Call out palium, or donāt. Wait til 3 AM for flow groves, or donāt. Thereās no rules.
Well it can be the way one words things but then again im not a nice person so lots of people dont like me usually so i know its the way i word things
Iām not a mean person, so someone can simply ask and Iāll expand, rather than make passive aggressive assumptions (not you, just in general). There absolutely is a tone of text, which can come off wrong, especially with strangers. Iāve made many friends in this game, and Iām an easy going person. But you canāt get all my with everyone!
People on the internet are funny. I feel like everywhere, even a simple comment- somebody has to turn it into an argument
Can we argue about that?
NO, LYNX. ITS ONLY ON SATURDAY YOU CAN DO THAT
Let's do it
Just kidding!
I am a bit confused about one thing... why post in palia-discussions if you're not here for discourse about the subject?
Can we discourse the word discourse.
Dis coarse
Pardon me, Iām in a fun mood today and my language is always sarcasm but I do hear you all too
Dis the course
My bad.
I thought that was kinda the point of this channel. Air grievances, sure, but also expect to have discussion and disagreement about the subjects of potential frustration.
Opinions are valued in here and opposing opinions are very valuable as we can all learn from them
Keep those brain synapses firing.
Does Palia have a name change option yet?
Not yet. You'll have to contact support about it.
Something I did, then turned into the nonsense it did, which is why I usually donāt get into deep discussions.
Sure I pop in this channel here or there, but Iāve skimmed some of the conversations before, and Iām like ānot today, Satan.ā Or itās stuff that I donāt even understand š
I wouldn't say it was nonsense. Heated or not I'd rather say it was a fairly reasonable discourse to a statement/an opinion. Again, seems exactly like what this channel is and what is supposed to set it apart from general chat.
Did they remove the maji marker? there is like an invisible wall infront of it for me (sorry i havent played since it first came out)

I'll be shocked if they took down the items you can't even use from the cash shop store. Or fix the glitched bundle that charges you more than it should. They'll just keep knowingly pushing it off until the deadline passes just like they did with the early access label on Steam
thank you!
I complain a lot, yeah, but this one genuinely bothers me
They have no excuse, they're aware, and they're aware people are not happy about it, but hey, money.
yeah. the fact they keep adding all hese flashy things too... im really am surprised nothing legal has come after them yet
Majority of players are happy to let them get away with it ig
It doesn't have beta, early access nothing on the steam page still
I'm angry with you
Angry might be to strong of a word but please understand its in steams tos to correctly label games if you somehow miss the one time box tick which is a horrible idea to begin with but steam be steam
I'm wondering if action would be taken if enough people actually reported it to Steam support.
Because yeah it really should say early access...
The skins that aren't working REALLY should be disabled though. That's just downright predatory.
thats the main thing that gets me, is you're spending actual real people money on things and then they dont work??? super frustrating and feels icky
Unfortunately in this space, Palia isn't even a major offender.
But I wouldn't call any of it illegal. The current situation of selling things that actually don't work might be though, but I'm sure you could get a refund if requested. No lawyers needed.
First off it is no longer a game from S6. Belly up and outta biz
Daybreak acquired the company but Singularity 6 still operates the game development
Jina level 5 quest complete š
Yes and no... It's still the same higher ups and management from S6, just very little to none of the original "devs."
Palia belongs to Daybreak Games which is a steward of many online games. The biz model of today's videogame industry is monetization. The model used in Palia is F2P which means the "core game" is free with "limited access" but...if you want to look good, have tool skins and pets you have to buy it with real life $$$. F2P game models launch limited time deals, exclusive items, special features etc. to encourage spending from the player base. RNG is determined by the in game store purchases and it is perfectly legal. It's unetical but bizness doesn't give a flip about ethics anymore these days. Vid game developers and investors do this because they can. FOMOS and WHALES are a developer's bread and butter.I tested the RNG thing and unfortunately it is true. I fished 500 glow worms for the ancient fish then I bought the lunar glider and bingo got me an ancient fish in no time, got floatsom furniture too from the rummage piles. Then I mined and mined hunted and hunted have gone through 1000 bug bombs still no rainbow winged butterfly or sernak plushies. Bought the infiltrator's clothing bamm got a sernak proudhorn plushie and a few of the furniture sets from zeki coins. I haven't bought or won anything for over a month of playing. I haven't gotten anything from the loot piles except copper, carrots and occasionally a brightshroom. As for starred gems hahahahalol fat chance.
No they don't google it who bought Bethesda and ruined the ESO series. Who bought S6 and how many other games they "steward"
they said in their own announcement that daybreak bought them but theyre letting s6 continue to run the game on their own.... unless something changed somewhere that you can show where this changed, that's what's happened.
then S6 owes me a ton of plushies and starred gems lmfao
rng is not determined by any purchases.
yeah rng is just... rng. a game mechanic set by the devs and all. if people could get rng boost from purchasing items in the store, that'd be 100% P2W and there would be ridiculously unfair
Yeah, I haven't bought a single thing in the store (I keep meaning to, but other things take priority... and it's been a bit since I've played Palia admittedly).
Still got plenty of rare stuff
Yeah so i've been house touring, and people have like 6/7 copies of things you only get one of, and have CRAZY plots. Are these people just straight up cheating?
Like the cost of some of these plots is just unobtainable through normal play. AND items that are unique
There have 100% been plots in the past with unobtainable items and such sooooo
It is certainly possible to hack / cheat in this game. I'd take screenshots and report it.
Like one plot had 7 of the Stone garden things. You can only get 1 from the Bundle turn in i thought
yes its on the internet how to cheat and there is no anti cheat code in Palia by developers like the person stated in the article. They don't care this game is just for income they probably won't stay with this game too long and they may even not support the servers anymore and there is an article about how we don't own the games we are just licensing them. Steam put the announcement up that we don't own any of these games. That shocked me and then my govenor newsom made a law saying we do not and can not own digital downloads just a license to play them and your account and all our games can be wiped away. I didn't know this I am gobsmacked over it and will likely just stop and go back to my hard copy of oblivion and skyrim and just go to a gaming store purchase a hard copy and forget about this mmo stuff
I should have read the terms and conditions before I accepted the terms because if you want to play you have to accept. How many of us reads the whole thing? I didn't but with the new 2024 rev. it is real easy to goof up and get banned from Steam and lose all your games and all the stuff you achieved.
I never read terms and conditions cause they all boil down to the same thing in the end really
I am going ingame now and open Dragonz Reach and Phoenix Rising to home tours cuz next week I am uninstalling this game.
or....maybe not lol this game has had hiccups plus I would also like to see Elderwood before I quit it and at least finish my other 2 lots ,Which by the way I thought you could submit 2 plots per event but I guess not so Phoenix Rising will have to wait till next week gosh I really like this game but am soooo very disappointed at the way the industry has evolved. Some of these games are expensive and it is a hard pill to swallow when after all $$$ spent it is not your game just a license to play it. That sux
Nuff said G'night everyone!!
And how is that a S6 problem? Play via the native launcher
The not owning our games has been a thing forever, and applies everywhere; not just on steam. Exceptions are few. Even back in the 90's opening a big box game you bought in the physical store would often come with a printed version of the license agreement that stated something like that. It ain't nothing new, people just (understandably) don't read license agreements.
It isn't (or shouldn't be, from my understanding). Even if it was, you're only technically playing a "license" of the game, Palia is f2p, so you'd only really lose your money if you spent money on cosmetics and got your account banned.
i just feel better have a physical copy of games in my hands. that way i know for a fact that even if they either no longer make the game or what have you, as long as the system it is on still works, i can play it no matter what
which on the other side means that i don't get to play some of the games that i truly want to play because they are only available for download
I fairly certain this has been walked back a bit because of consoles and dealing with offline modes, but I seem to recall a short period where games came with disks, but the disk only contained a third of the game and the rest would be downloaded through the launcher, so that even with a copy of the disk you didn't even have the full game.
And even with the disks for a lot of games it still requires you to circumvent copy protections, launcher requirements and always-on requirements.
I do hate that it is this way though.
Anyone eles randomly get player added you to their friends list? I dont know these players..
a lot of times, people will show up onto a server and just spam everyone in the server with friend requests. i usually just go into the friend tab in the menu and set them to ignore.
I used to accept these people until I hit friend limit and now I'm deleting them (sorry people)
i never accept random friend requests like that. the only times i will accept them are when i have to party up with others to do something
Does the galdur statue hack still work? Till you server jump till you get a new seed or is it the same seed now thru servers?
I think they discourage talking about that stuff in here
i accidentally spamed the server with friend request during a maji market recently. i missed the invite to group button š i just wanted to create a group for the mini games
Since this time the plot with cheated items and impossible buildings was #1 on the trending housetours, I just straight up wrote a support ticket and asked them how to do all of that and how to get multiple of the quest reward trees.
Yeah that poor soul that has to answer has no fault about that, but I really want to know what they say about all of this.
Seeing the real potential of the housing sucks and then promoting it on the tour board for everyone in clear view sucks even more.
have any of you seen a game calelled Pax Dei
it feels a lot like palia but .... much better its so beutiful
i wanna play its just a bit out of my price range but its on my list
you guys should check it out
me being the curious person that I'm I looked up the game.
Not only does it not look like palia at all, like its not even in the same continent so to speak. I personally think the looks of Palia is partially what makes it appealing to players. But even if the looks dont matter to you (Its a pretty game dont get me wrong). From what the revieuws said (Mixed revieuws overall) the game is grindy, not solo friendly, doesn't seem to get updates other than small ones and bugfixes.
And not to mention the suggestes PC specs that i seems to require. Someone that plays other things than palia probably has a fine PC to run it. People that just play Palia on their crappy PC will not even be able to run the game š
It's also not cozy, it forces you into PVP zones and such haha
i did take a closer look and i now do agree š the trailer was deciving
I was quite interested in Pax Dei but having to pay like 40 bucks to have early access and then having to pay a sub once it releases is too greedy for me. And it didnt seem to be getting substential updates in the first months of early access either
Ooof yeah no, I'd just rather pay for osrs membership at that pointšThat's way too much
the character creator looks good tho and the building elament but yeag the overall gameplay is not well reseved
would have been better to do that before promoting another game here (which probably isnt really appriciated to begin withš )
There's been a lot of games releasing recently that are not at all what they promised. Palia being one of them, but also thinking of stuff like Nightingale and this puzzler called Islands of Insight I wanted to succeed but stripped all the MMO aspects from it š¦
Some games releasing are only for the best of computers too, which just lessens their pool of potential players
tish if officially my shepp, i love her sm
Speaking of Palia esque games Luma Island looks good and it has a demo. Full game comes out in a month i think
For a moment, I honestly thougth they were about to release a battle pets update.
so...is trading only for plushies? or just this first version of it?
most of it is glitching witch isent cheating
I PLAYED IT! it was so fun! EXITED for full game
pet battling in palia being locked behind P2W features would be funny to see the melt down of
A large reason why people wanted trading was because the lack of accessibility making the games content unplayable for certain people, if it really is only for plushies that's disheartening :/
wizard101 cought they could go there route with breeding and stuff
another reason why ive just given up on fighting for accessability in palia. its clear s6 just doesnt care
wait its only for plushies????? WHY..just give us FULL trading..
also watch the new farret pet be 2k+ ;-;
they could and absolutely could build a decent system for it. but itd be riddled with countless bugs
i dont understand why they dont keep pets at low 450...EXCLUSIVE? sure...ok FINE but common...
can't wait to see the meltdowns in the discord over the patch lol
it always happens ;-;
I'll wait for the patch notes to pass full judgment but just based on the sneak ... I just really hope there are at least a few more quests to do
most likely not at all
i did buy one of the landscape but i bought the cheapest one.
i dont think new quest will even arrive until elderwoods is out and even then they'll probably able to be done in just a few short minutes if rng doesnt get in the way
welp, I knew there had to be some restriction around trading that made it functionally pointless
restricting it to just plushes is exactly that lol
Would be nice if a dev could pop in and confirm. I'd like to know if I should just uninstall the game at this point if trading is only for plushies. I've been waiting for trading to actually be able to play the game since I can't do fishing and now it might only be for plushies?
tradings a bit of a let down, unless this is just a test run (which is fine if it is)
"dev pop in and confirm" not likely
Why buy a new glider when gliders don't show up anymore?
Ugh, I'm really hoping that's not the case. I'm craving for some story development
If it's a test run its totally fair to limit it for the moment, but it would be nice if they openly say that. Yet another moment where lack of transparency is an issue :/
unless the tool skins are fixed too, i dont know why they decide to release broken content. its really odd
why can't you do fishing? š¦
I'm disabled. Fishing is inaccessible.
ahh im sorry, I would totally help if I could
š they confirmed pets will never be free so thats something
and fishing just stinks to do in general. theway fish turn left and right is just so obnoxious
Gotta love greed!
Auto fail bug is STILL in the game lost 7-9 UNICORN FISH some were starred to autofail bug
haven't had that bug thankfully
ITS PAINFULL š
im glad more people are starting to get fed up with how s6 is running things at least. hopefully when it reaches its tipping point, either s6 shows their colors or finally turns things around for the better
i just gave up ill pop on for dailys but other then that im taking a break and playing gw2
I hope they'll get the hint one day, but I also hoped they're make the game accessible and well...they haven't so
Interesting to see that they expanded the trading pilot/test to all plush instead of just potato pods
Im just sad that I '' finished '' the whole game in 150 hrs. Sure I can continue building house etc. But I want quests to do, reputation to farm etc. Not just go get stuff to build another house xd
It's just a huge mismanagement. I'm hoping the acquisition actually helped them with their management. The devs aren't bad at all tbh, and honestly, I think they have a really good core of a game here they just need to beef it up. You can tell they have a good game hiding within. They've also kept true to their update per month rule they applied earlier this year (quite surprisingly). I'm giving them a lot of grace here tho lol!
You have got to be freaking kidding me.
We finally had some hope and of course in typical S6 fashion it's the ol' bait and switch.
They said it was coming a couple months ago and would start as pods only
I'm at my limit roan
How about a plot limit upgrade?
id take anything that would up the plot limits
Where did they say pods only? Because in my memory they just vaguely said "trading was coming."
cant make this up, they invest the time to actually implement trading, and lock it to plushes only.
if its to test it, plushes are even worse, because they are at least kinda "hard to get", if they get lost players wont be happy.
I just looked and all they say is that it won't be exclusive to potato pods. They never stated if it would expand beyond plushies.
They're working on it per the dev update that told us about pod trading as the pilot for a trading system, but theyve got to get it together on stability, performance/optimization, and bug fixing before that'll happen
If performance limitations werenāt an issue, we would place no limit on the number of decor assets you could place on your home plot. Unfortunately, we need some more time to consider bandwidth and optimize our gameplay that will give players even more creative freedom. Alas, while the current (and future!) decor limits are in place to ensure stability, the team is dedicating a whole lot of effort into reducing points of friction between the home plot and your creativity. Weāve been working hard to further improve performance as players maximize our 3,000 object/decor limit.
https://palia.com/news/dev-blog-looking-ahead
Yeah not exclusive to them lol
The dev update, said it'd start with pods only as a test but wouldn't stay that way - they usually fall short of what they say they'll do but this time they did it and a degree better since it's all plush not just pods at first.
I can't find anything that talks about it being a pilot for a wider trading system.
What I posted is the first mention of a trading system, everything else just says that it's coming.
and in text with a link
But the best way to ensure you complete your collection will be to trade with your friends. Thatās right ā a trading system is planned for a future update (not currently planned for Patch 0.183), and the system will not be exclusive to Potato Pods! Stay tuned for more deets.
https://palia.com/news/dev-blog-looking-ahead (also mentioned by palia partners in their streams after the august patch as a pilot/test of a wider trading system)
!market
Yeah that doesn't confirm this is just a pilot and it will be for all items later... Just that it's not exclusive to the potato pods which they certainly kept their promise on since it's all plushies, but because of their crappy communication we of course expected our feedback had been heard and we were getting actual item trading.

At this point I have no confidence.
I genuinely don't think they read our feedback. I had doubts they did in the past, but now this feels like it just proves it.
I wish they'd take a hand out of other game companies books and do a bi-monthly Q&A for transparency/feedback. Just let us know that we should be disappointed ahead of time /gen
They did that years back for awhile but then I think we all got tired of it since most of the answers were basically saying "we can't fully answer this" anyway.
no CMs to organize it, do the prep work, or do followups/damage control after
if anyone wants to read them https://support.palia.com/hc/en-us/sections/7474069473684-Ask-the-Team-Archives
i really just wonder what they're even doing now honestly internally. it can't be healthy
Brainstorming cash shop items of course
Can we talk about the "introducing Skins" part also, because I'm not sure which thing has me more livid right now
It hasn't been healthy for awhile. The GlassDoor reviews tanked early this year. Lots of lines about management not having a long-term vision for the game or any kind of road map, not listening to feedback, and just overall being unwilling to change.
yeah. smart idea to sell things that are currently broken and not mentioning if its going to be fixed. so people will be paying for a feature they won't even be able to use...
I didn't even realize they're introducing a new cosmetic type. Gods
It sounds to me like they are adding paywalled character skin options
That's exactly what it is from the sounds of it.
yeah. this just doesn't bode well for the future of the game imo
It's not a tool skin, they explicitly say so
nvm, can't read š
my brain just went to what riots doing with league, i hope that doesnāt happen here
it probably will
Already has.
Check out the new Premium Store offerings, including the trotting two-legged Ferris pet, Jazzy Dress outfit, Autumn Acres Landscape, Halloween-themed Veilhunter outfit, Tool Skins, Glider, spooky Masks; and introducing Skins with the drop dead gorgeous Spectral Vow Skin!
the only thing they've called skins before is the tool cosmetics, so yeah that is weird
With theybreak behind the wheel, easily.
/pops in from xbox showcase, oh boy I see S6 is up to its usual
I just can't find the words right now that are appropriate for this discord to describe how I'm feeling
It's definitely a new skin overlay.
this really is a plushie collecting game now isn't it
also thank you for reminding me to check up on it, i completely forgot that was today
Always was
Do we think they mean the actual skin of your character or like literally a new character model?
I'm goin feral cause AW2 DLC trailer and also a multiplayer Control game next year aaaa but
I think probably the former
Skin. If it was a new model that would actually be horrible that they've spent this time animating and designing a whole new model
Like a new skin color but premium version is my suspicion
If I had to guess it's likely going to be a skin with maybe gold or orange flow-like markings that animate?
that's a lot of cashshop stuff added to one patch for even them, isn't it?
spectral vow is just the bride outfit
like it looks like more items than usual
They're trying to coast by on whales instead of adding actual content
weird they're naming a new cosmetic after an outfit then
probably bcs they listed every single item seperately
rewatching the trailer and they've got all existing skin color options, not something new so yeah no more hint there - if they make pink, purple, blue available wouldn't that make humans too much like majiri? same if they had something to look like gauldur or grimalkin.
Looking at the trailer it might be a vfx thing but without it being tied to an outfit?
If it is named after an outfit then it could just be that outfit's vfx at a cheaper price
I do hope the plushie trading is the pilot for general trading, but odd they listed the Maji Market again? Perhaps it will something different in November.
folks have posited that cosmetics are the easiest changes to push and that a good chunk of the work is contracted out which would partly explain it, but yeah the lack of other content teased and no straight forward or funny mention about performance/optimization or bug fixes is extra eyebrow raising even with how conservative they try to be in the teasers
Also I'm not loving how the plushie trading seems to be done in the underground...seems like it could be another prize wheel situation where people are rude or complain about others using it. I'm hoping it's just for trailer magic.
bug fixes and performance/optimisation wouldn;t be teased if it was or was not there.
They definitely have a lot of ICs for art and such.
it will be hotpot all over again for sure
and then they probably only have 1 trading table per server lmao
Just stopping by to say something I've said before: I 100% think a lot more focus should be given to improving stability and adding QoL features. That said, both code and cosmetics can mostly be done at the same time as they are done by different teams. Even if some cosmetics were done in-house, artists don't necessarily do coding, so them making the art assets don't necessarily take away from coding time. Depending of course on how they've set up the backend, but at least with something like UE it may well be possible for artists to add the cosmetic assets into the game with minimal to no requirement for coders to be involved.
Yeah, they're different teams. But the issue is that there is a clear problem with them prioritizing the cash shop over the game.
If an update trailer is 90% cash shop items and 10% actual new stuff, there is an issue
I don't disagree with that.
I thought they'd done it a few times but going back to the start of the year I only see Patch 0.177 mentioned over 250 bug fixes in the tease
Well we saw the furniture set and the trading system on top of the cash stuff. I think it was about half
Just mentioning what I did 'cause there seem to be a bit of confusion among many that implementing cosmetics and bug fixes (or other coding related stuff) are mutually exclusive, as if the same people do all of it. But yeah, I do agree that the prioritizing ain't good.
looking at it you can see two booths for trading in the underground (likely a third in hiding). Though curious how it's gonna be
New furniture sets barely count as gameplay though. Sure that's another time sink and it's nice to have more variety but that's not something new to do, it's just more grinding. It's not a new area, new quest, new feature, etc.
hello Palians How do you get piece of fence to click together? Can anyone help me.
and the landscaping objects (?).
i'd guess they are just normal objects like houses, but hey, we get some way to elevate ground on our plots.
if that buildable elevated height is of the new landscape i'll be mad.
Depends on the type of player you are. If you treat this as a plot developer game then you are gonna be happy with the new sets.
I was alos hoping for QoL things added with these smaller things while we wait for the 'big' update. Or just generally building up whats already there but seems usless like karma and community's. Some new achievements as they go for things like all the rng furniture like with the makeshift set, ability to one button sort ur bag, other uses for renown so capping out doesnt make u want to screech... just smaller things padding out the bones of what they already have while we wait :(
definitely depends on how we get the recipes, but given it doesn't mention how it'll be almost certainly just be buying + inspiration rather than earning unfortunately
This game is basically Sims where you need to build your own furniture.
Maybe I'm alone but I came in wanting lore, quests, multiplayer opportunities, etc.
If we're arguing that the reason they bump out cash shop stuff is because it's easier then the same can be said for furniture - not sets, but actual pieces. The only difference is that they need an object collision box instead of physics like outfits.
New furniture sets is not gameplay, it's things you obtain through gameplay, aka rewards
new rewards are good, but they can only serve as filler for so long before people get tired of doing the same things gameplay-wise
I really really hope of that is a thimg NOT tied to the new landscape but it probably is
(Backreading, at the moment, so this is delayed.) but, I lowkey expected this š„“ . It's why I tried not to have hopes up. I've been enjoying talking about/discussing about trading though, and why it'd be beneficial. It sitll would be. I hate that it's locked with plushes.
I hope it's for a trial run.
QOL items barely make it into patch notes and have only shown up in teasers a few times (i can say that with some confidence since I just went looking for bug/performance mentions), in #āæāaccessibility-discussions we go hunting for the settings QOL changes specifically since they aren't typically mentioned
You're not alone in this. I personally don't care for cosmetics or house building. Give me the lore!
its ....something? (not sure how to describe it cuz i've got mixed feelings) to learn that we're not even finished with the prologue/setup yet, but that they plan is to get there/be ready for the start of the first chapter before elderwood
Well there would be one other option, but I dont even want to think about it being in the shopā¦.
the landscaping objects(elevated surfaces are part of the "yardwork" set
ahhh yes that makes sense
Like where are the Community features?
Why are there not more mini games like Hotpot to play with friends?
Why is it so difficult to just add in some new flowers or forageables that could be new ingredients for crafting?
Do we even have a use for lettuce or whatever that one crop they added by accident is?
My thoughts, which hopefully makes a bit of sense and stuff, cuz i just woke up:
-
Again, just hoping Plush Trading is just to test the waters, make sure it's running properly. I can actually understand this to some extent. I'm hoping it'l introduce better trading in the future :\
-
Really bringing up "spooky outfits", even mentioned the words "Halloween-themed" for an outfit... for the premium shop. This bugs me. Why should only people who pay up real money be able to participate in spooky season, getting a mask, halloween themed outfit(s), etc? I still wholeheartedly believe there should be at least one or two free options for clothing so they can participate in celebrating halloween, too. Even if it was a basic shirt that has a pumpkin on it.
-
Ferret pet is cute. But it also makes me wish even more that there was a free pet, so the features could of been expanded upon. I say this since it has a backpack ... like, it makes me wish even more that pets could actually help with getting loot bags and the like

""and introducing Skins with the drop dead gorgeous Spectral Vow Skin!""
I'm very confused by this wording
... I'm assuming the Spectral Vow is the bride-looking outfit that theyre showing in the trailer...? And that doesn't make much sense.
I know that it's highly likely they added the whole multiplayer thing on as a buzzword but god
yeah, they removed the in game tease for more community features 10 months ago which was (and still is) a disappointment, but we know lettuce is coming and that there's a ton of new resources in the elderwood
idk why there isnt a community board lol
If it's not an actual new cosmetic type then someone dropped the ball on writing the patch notes. Them using introducing makes it seem like it is, especially since it's not listed with the other outfit
or there is, but it's not live/implemented just like the elderwood and summer event stuff
I'm just wondering if it's really bad wording?
But I don't even know. It's just confusing, and I had to rewatch the trailer so many times & re-read that statement. I thought it was just cuz I just woke up, so things are hazy, but yeah no ... it just doesnt make sense to me still
Wait, they are selling skin colors now? lmao
I'm going to laugh if they mean literally "skin" as in, you can make your character a ghost or something.
Because that doesn't totally screw with the lore of the game at all.
No idea!! because the skin they mentioned is introduced with it, looks like the skin colours that are already available, and is an outfit!!!
we don't know, the teaser was vague which is why folks are confused and trying to sort it out
If they do actually just mean that it's an outfit then they probably need to proof read patch notes or get someone else to do them
with palia i feel itās bad wording
Did they give an estimate when the story continues?
social posts =/= patch notes, but clearly still need another/better editing patch
is ther e achannel to trade potato pods?
sometime before elderwoods
It usually is. At first I was like "oh maybe, outfits without visual effects?" But we have some of those already, so it's.. it isnt something new being introduced lol
So in a year I guess?
nope! hopefully they add some quests with this one, if not i guess we continue in elderwoods
more like 1-4 months
sometime before the elderwood (which is coming "early 2025") per #šāsixer-tracker message & https://palia.com/news/patch-184

I hope it isn't just plush trading and we can trade furniture because I have zero interest in plushies let alone MORE plushies.
They definitely need basic holiday outfits unlockable...like just throw a sheet over a player model and call it a ghost outfit. Free, done, maybe a quest to unlock it INSTEAD OF GIVING PROGRESSION GOALS AWAY FOR FREE...instead of making it gameplay
Yeah the ferret pet having a backpack and looting items is gunna make people mad
They said specifically plush trading haha
And the ferret just has a backpack. I dont' think it actually loots things. I'm saying I want the features expanded upon with a free pet
fr a free anything would be good (not just. plushies pls)
Wait.. I completely missed that. The pet picks up items for players?!
' INSTEAD OF GIVING PROGRESSION GOALS AWAY FOR FREE' i felt this hard when they just added the tunnel to bahari at the back of the plot. I would of loved to earn it :(
God I really hate what this game has become, it's so lost in the sauce it's not even a game anymore other than Plushies
I don't believe so. I think what i wrote was misunderstood
Be grateful it isnt unlocked by paying 4.99 convenience fee
they literally wont let us trade furniture because they do not care about it and only care about plushies, it's absolutely insane they are going to kill their game
it looks like that in the trailer, but that could just be the teaser story like with the drakes doing their little "attack"
it looked that way but i hope itās just an animation thing and not actually a thing, cuz then thatās unfair to players who canāt buy the pets
Instead of all the new stuff it was better they fixed the bugs we are all struggling with , like items counting on all plots even on the ones who are empty.
And more other bugs going on.
new content? Sorry no new furniture but here are 10 new plushies
That's what it looked like to me!
Sighs in my free plumehound pet quest idea
I think about that quest idea fondly every day
yeah, I dont think it does, I'm saying I wish pets did something but sadly because they insist on them being premium only they can't
also if thereās an issue with the skins of the tools/etc why announce if no one can use things
what is the point in trading furnature. like anything you can craft so can i. whats the point in that.
You can't craft any of the makeshift set or anything in Zeki gambling
Yep that too that is why i said and all other stuff
makeshift, pirate decor, zekis machine furniture, all the furniture stuff that is locked behind rng
At this point if they released a free (& paid) item-looting pet, nobody would ever buy the others
Materials, makeshift set you have to find via RNG, etc. And sometimes you might just want to help someone build their idea for a room or something
Literally I get plushies instead of the furniture I want but I can't trade the plushies for the furniture I want
All the rng furniture or maybe someone doesn't want to collect certain items needed for it
accessibility - not everyone can do all the skills equally for various reasons, so have a very hard time getting enough materials and trading would alleviate that to some degree
okay so what. no point in trading it. but who knows maybe they will add trading to furnature later on down the road and is doing the trading thing for now to see how it works
just plushies u pay for that are stuck at your side
I wouldn't put it past them at this point if it DOES loot things.
I honestly will be very very upset if this ends up being the case. It does look like it's just the animation flair like the drakes have, though
Also since they keep cranking out new models you know for a fact that we aren't getting any meaningful animations or emotes for the pets.
I just hope these pet models are going to be reused for actual world content
Like not a single one of these pets exists in the world at large, it makes no sense
I feel like they had the perfect chance to show it grabbing that loot but they didn't
i wouldnāt care if it did that but theyād have to give the other players a basic pet that did that, can be a random free one from the shop or a new one you get from a quest/as a gift who knows
Sing6 is only thinky , we are being lazy because we are the only cozy game going on , no competitions going on , wait like one more year when there are more other cozy games like Palia what they gonna do then , everything is gonna be to late for fixing stuff then lol.
Sing6 needs to think ahead , what todo to keep this game interested, WELL I SAY FIX BUGS and glitches before adding new contents.
Please god make it a quest why is everything in this game just handed to us now or RNG, whatever happened to quests and story?
i feel the newer ones are from elderwoods but they shouldnāt have been live if the area isnāt
I was really hoping for them to be more interactive. Or have more then a single idle animation. The cats didnt even sit at first. Id be happy if they just added a 'rest' pose for if u had been stood still for a while and it lay down or something. Just bare minimum ;-;
right
love me some quests
S6 can use my plumehound quest idea for free at this point lol
only two more patches this year - the 22nd and one at the end of november - but I'd love for them to be really focused on bugs, stability, performance, optimization, foundation, whatever you want to call it so that this year the holiday break would be solid instead of the absolute mess it was last year
I've been asking for this since day one. There's very little actual progression in this game. Nothing to work towards, so no serotonin or dopamine hits for reaching goals that took awhile to build towards.
Progression is get furniture...get plushie, decorate and then sit around doing nothing
Good luck, I wrote a bunch of community events for them that are in a trash bin somewhere.
Same. The amount of feedback I've sent with quest ideas, multiplayer content ideas. All down the drain. At this point I should just learn to code, I probably have a full game with them all š¤£
I genuinely look forward to the day when you are free to speak about past Palia things, including ideas that you had and offered inthe past
Like, I genuinely love hearing the ideas/concepts that youve already talked about, and discussed with me & others here in discussions.
"catch 1093 million bugs without any counter"? /s
i guess it depends how fast ppl do things, but thereās so little handed out that itās all done and thatās why ppl are waiting around, i donāt log on much except for a few minutes now cuz itās that bad on switch, and i donāt have time irl atm anyway, but all i got to do now is move some stuff on my plot, i wanted to work on my
other one but itās so buggy that i donāt bother
Honestly. This freaking company may be what inspires me to have my own "Stardew Valley" moment where I just learn to make my own game over the next few years.
I felt this. When I was working, one thing that kept me focused was writing/noting down my ideas in a notebook for similar reasons. š
i made a few npcs but i donāt post because of their rules technically so i just make up little quests/romance things for them if they have it etc xD got me being creative lmao
how ready are we for another update with nothing but decor and premium items ^^'
And to me if they are gonna include the plushies from zeki's wheel and zeki's machine then all of the items that can be obtained in those 2 places should be tradeable cuz that's what many of us are gonna wanna swap out is dupes from within the same collections.
I mean one of them was a "bug infestation" where a special insect would spawn all over the map and all of them needed to be caught in time to make a "queen" appear. Everyone who caught one of the regular bugs would get some special resource for high-tier crafting or what not, and the person who caught the queen would get a tiny bit extra (enough to where you feel good about being the one to catch it, but not enough where people feel like they missed out because they weren't lucky that time around.)
Something like Silk Thread maybe where it's a random number between 1-7 for participating and then like a bonus 3 for catching the queen or something.
hmm if you did that i think a timer on the queen when it came out until it was able to be caught ( wow did something similar with it just before the war within launched)
That was more meant as sarcasm, because it was literally Palias "Event". All players together catch X bugs to get a plush.. without even including a counter ingame or at least on the website.
Oh sorry lol I didn't see the /s because it was on another line, I'm on mobile right now
But the lack of a counter was 100% so they could just fudge the numbers. Coming from a D&D DM, sometimes you've gotta fudge things to make people feel good. Everyone was going to get the prizes no matter what.
I'm excited about the new stuff but when are they going to fix the parries and invisible problem? Not being able to join parties in the fairgrounds? Chappas not being able to be picked up at times?
(But at the same time they also wanted more player interaction for the Daybreak sale)
I just think it's insane they added cats but just didn't bother to have cats around Kilima or anything
Like, is it because they don't even want to bother with hitboxes and the eventual demand for a pet animation?
all good, just wanted to say I didn't want to talk down your work š
obviously it was only for player retention to boost numbers, but it worked..
They definitely fudged the numbers. DDLV does similar types of events and their numbers are always in the 400k range, Palia having theirs so high was mindbogling
hopefully but we dunno
D&D
(been on a huge D&D kick lately)
But yes, definitely haha. Sometimes you just gotta fumble the numbers
Now Palia is the only cozy game going on, and Sing6 thinks oh no competion for us, wait one more year and what then if there are more games running like Palia, what they gonna do then with a game full with glitches and bugs ?
yeah they are only alive because the competition is a Disney game that's awful and the rest are singleplayer or not service titles
Srr no offense i like Palia alot and i like to play it, but with some bugs blocking us for making all our plots beautifull and starting on empty plots with already like 500/3000 or more people are kinda ....
That's why so many of us had such high hopes and excitement for this game. There's nothing else like it (yet) but I would be more than happy to jump ship at this point if something actually worthwhile comes along.
Honestly the multiplayer aspect was the whole reason I joined the beta test and then..it just didn't exist? Having it be marketed as an MMO and then having no MMO features sucked
Yes indeed
mhm my family kinda stopped cuz of it and just how bad it is lag/bug wise, 2 of them canāt even log on the game anymore :(
I made a very very long ticket to them and today i'm gonna send them another bout the house touring , Europe players have a hard time to get in the trending list , they never will because of the time zones to get it loaded on the dot at reset and that is so unfair .
oh i never thought of that
same.
But the problem I have is: I like what they have... yeah its way too less and way too buggy. But its sad to see a solid base break apart thanks to even more weird choices.
I had so many friends msg me about it too when it was announcing when closed beta was. Because I always look for and crave those cosy kind of games, and chill ones. It was something I looked forward to, esp since I have dissociative problems, and it looked beneficial for that. Especially since it was multiplayer, etc.
I still hope for the best with this game, but it gets difficult sometimes.
I tested it , i'm from Belgium, i woke up at 5.45 u my time to start Palia and waiting just before 6 am with reset , clicking and checking when it was time, and wanted to add my plot and couldn't for a whole while lol so BB to the trending list
And now since they didn't launch with multiplayer content, if they try to add any people will complain so they have to walk a fine line if they ever actually add any
Yeah the multiplayer aspects were definitely what I was most excited about... Definitely didn't deliver.
I remember when open beta came out, and i had a few friends try... that same day, within like an hour, they asked, "Wait, what can we do together?"
It's better now at least, since you can get hunting things dropped if youre in a party (and are close enough), etc, but.. i just remember that moment, and it makes me giggle haha
this is the big thing, imho.
Palia is as big as it is because it was the first to offer a game for this specific niche (cozy MMO)
But that success is not something S6 should take for granted, especially when other companies see it and decide they want a slice of the cozy MMO pie too. It's only a matter of time before some other company makes a cozy MMO too, and if they consistently deliver where S6 doesn't, S6 stands to lose a LOT.
same, doing quests together, the temples, those were what i though iād be doing with fam/ppl but i couldnāt, the group loot is ok but it. arrived late i think and itās not perfect
Yep indeed just like i said
I still wish that temples and stuff was more cooperative. And you could help eachother with doing them.
Like, please let someone help me do the temple of gales, im begging š
yea like in a dungeon in other mmos if you have the quest itāll complete as you do, if you donāt you wonāt get credit for anything and if you already did then you donāt get duplicates of items
that was me the whole time
when it was current
Ok gonna make a ticket for the house touring before i forget bout it hehe
It really is the most anti-community community sim ive ever played
Totally agree ! I've looked through Steam Neofest and there are many cosy games coming up... So they better think ahead and work on the content the players are actually asking for or the player base will eventually move on...
What really blows me away, and not in a good way, is the amount of entitlement that is disguised as "etiquette" tbh
Far too many people take call outs for granted, to the point where they get upset at anyone who dares mine a palium or flow tree without calling it out and waiting for everyone else first. More than a few times I've seen stories of new players who just find some "really pretty trees" and try to cut them, only to get shamed+harassed in chat for not following the unspoken rules of calling out + flaring + waiting for everyone else to show up.
This is exactly why I have to keep my chat turned off or I get too anxious. I zone out a lot, dissociate, and sometimes just am not paying attention. Because I played palia to escape, chill and relax. But it wasn't chill or relaxing when people would get upset if you chopped even a really tiny flow tree on your own, without telling people. Or getting palium, etc.
It really just... gets rid of and strips that cosy/chill vibe for me.
I have a lot of hours and I rarely see that kind of stuff. People sure talk about it happening way more than it does
I also have a lot of hours and have unfortunately seen it a lot, I guess you're lucky.
Just because something isn't your own personal experience doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
I sit on tall places and watch all of you
I mean, I'm glad you rarely see it, but I've seen it enough to the point where I felt like I had to turn my chat off. And I've seen people try to bring it up in this actual discord.
((It doesnt get pulled here that often anymore with names, since of the rule to not post names anymore, at least. Or at least, it's better enforced. So I am grateful for that. It wasn't super common before either, but it did happen.))
When servers are limited to 25 people and tend to put you with friends / community members you have a much lower chance of encountering that type of behavior than others.
It's unfortunate, but it does happen. Especially in regard to the underground and hotpot/the prize wheel.
Yeah it does happen, but I play way more than I talk about the game and see a lot of talk with very little in-game issues. Hotpot was an exception at its peak though. Pretty spicy chat most times.
-peeks head in- also this game's premium shop is ridiculously overpriced
Its the only way they make money so for the more intricate designs, i am not mad at it.
It wouldn't be as big an issue for me if they offered free alternatives and the ability to buy outfit pieces instead of full outfits.
almost started a war a few weeks ago when I said on reddit that its not a rule to callout/wait/.. and everyone can play how they want to
The lack of free alternatives makes it an instant never-buy-from for me
Free? In this economy?
Outfit pieces for sure should be a thing imo
I can tell which of you are on Switch and which of you are running on bare minimum specsY'all are funny to watch Switch players can not run in a straight line some folks may think they show ingame but they don't lol just a ghost floater or they look like a pin with arms outstretched floating lol
Do you have friends that you play with frequently, Tealsea? As Roan said, the game tries to put you in the same servers as your friends, and avoid placing you with the people you've blocked. I would get friend requests almost every time I called something out, it felt like- no doubt from people who wanted to be grouped with people like myself who do callouts.
When you eventually get matched 90% with other people who also do callouts, it can become super easy for everyone to start taking it for granted.
But they have free clothes. Its just not any of the newer premium stuff. Why put free in a premium store? They have to make money. The game is completely free.
Oh, I am. When the customization options are so limited, idc how intricate the designs are. None of those outfits are worth $30 USD, on a game still in beta no less.
When I say free, I don't mean put it in the cash shop.
They have no cosmetic progression, no way to show a players skill via cosmetics.
You can do both. It's like a game of tug of war. All it does is make people feel left out if they don't participate in spending money.
This is especially the case, when there's no free options when it comes to clothes, for halloween. And it's all locked behind premium/paywall.
It looks like it's time for me to start rambling about how reward systems and incentives work again
Sometimes, but I usually hunt alone. I don't think I ever saw someone get upset (post-patch where ores stick around) at somebody not calling out a pal. Groves are the only time things like that happen in my experience.
EXACTLY. There have been no free cosmetic, clothing, etc updates in a year.
It happens once in a while on pc too. And ash moving by doing pushups.
because these ppl that call you out are the ones that made up this rule and hammered the devs to encourage team play and discourage SP attitudes because for one reason opr another they ain't got the time tp play this game proper
Every game I've played with some kind of cash shop offers free alternatives of items that can be unlocked through gameplay. Even Fortnite does this. There's no reason why S6 could not, especially when it's been mentioned as a reason why a good chunk of people refuse to buy from the cash shop.
that's why you have to "party up" for the neat grow furnitures and some neat achievements you can't unlock
Fr tho. Just give me a cute free little pumpkin sweater and I'm content
right
even if it was just a tshirt with a pumpkin face, at least it'd be something lol. a cute pumpkin sweater sounds rly cute tho
CMs had to get involved in early tests because there were actual threats and anger over people not calling out resources. People were legitimately angry at solo players.
I get it. I do. Not everyone has the money to pay for premium. But we also dont pay for the game.
throwback to the first maji market when they talked about celebrating the market with a cosmetic...only for those cosmetics to be cash shop
oh wow
yes i was sad
Aye. Like, I'm an adult. I've got bills, mouths to feed. No way in hell I'm paying $60+ for 9 variations of an outfit I cannot in any way dye and barely match anything else from other sets. Asking me to do so is insulting.
I don't think I was around for the first maji market š§ I started playing October/November last year. So was it before then?
The dumbest part is they'd make more money if they sold things for cheaper.
EXACTLY.
New colorways could be helpful too. That way you could use an orange colorway of a free clothing item for halloween
As I keep saying... It's difficult to make one $25 purchase on pixels. It's easy to spend $5 on five different outfits.
It's not only about the money though? Personally, while I disagree with the price of the cosmetics, I could pay for them. But morally I don't want to buy when I don't feel like players are being treated the same. No one is asking for grand, complex free stuff. But a shirt here, a hat there, something to celebrate limited time events or something for skills is all anyone is really asking for.
yea it was like end august start september something like that
Aye, more color options too on the free stuff would be nice >_>
And a lot of people understand that. People understand that premium content is necessary. That they ""have to eat too"". Like, we get it.
But having a nice balance of both would be great. Having free options-- esp ones that you can earn through skills or whatever... would, and could, also incentivise their cash shop imho. Because it would have people play more (that isnt just decorating), and enjoy the game even more.
Still wish Jel introduced some form of tailoring but i know that hope and dream is so far away to not even happen. :(
Ah ok. Disappointed but not surprised
I also don't consider it a premium shop. Premium implies that there's a free alternative, but there really isn't. There is no progression, no earnable clothing. So it's just a cash shop really.
I'd rather pay for the game. Flat fee or an affordable and reasonable monthly sub. Than be overcharged for clothes.
So just looked at the teaser trailer for next week's update.... FERRIS IS SO CUTE. ugh i need it. Also, anyone else noticed that for the new decor, there is a raised platform in the teaser, and in the message they said "Elevate". I'm hoping for terraforming, but I have a feeling it's going to just be another City Hall building purchase. Either way, stoked about it. AND plushie trading!!! I can FINALLY trade my friend 5 giant ancient fish plushes, because I hate those dang things XD
Jel being a cash shop posterboy will never not frustrate me. Especially with the quest that forces you to open the cash shop. So annoying. Give this guy a purpose!
I remember when the mannequins in his shop were just blank/empty, and i was like "omg this means free options are coming, right?? because nothing is on them. They must be working on it!"
Note when I say Affordable and reasonable I mean something worthy of what this game offers all around. I pay a flat fee of like $13 a month for critically acclaimed mmorpg final fantasy 14 (plus a bit for extras). For Palia? I'd say $5 a month is reasonable.
It would be nice for like... hard to obtain pets, clothes, and tool skins. Maybe not the same as the shop, but still nice things to get from quests, hunting, rummage piles, etc.
There is money to be made in adding alternatives to paid outfits, actually.
Higher player counts mean the game gains traction and more new players join, some of which will spend money on the cash shop.
When players have more things to work towards they're also more likely to be happy with the game and spend money as well.
Im not saying that a free option or cosmetic gift to celebrate holidays or what-have- you isnt a good idea. Because it abdolutely is. I personally think there is so much going on in the game they could charge for the game and then tone down on the releases on the premium shops.
Here's my pitch: Palia Pass. You complete dailies and weeklies, etc and there are checkpoints based on the number of points you have and you get rewards from that pass
People like having goals to work towards, accomplishments to show off. When you see someone run past and they have some super cool thing, most people's thoughts are "woah! I want that! Where do I get something like that?" And just like that, a goal comes into being.
*The problem with Palia isn't that cosmetics are paywalled. The problem is that entire categories of rewards are paywalled, to the point it has become actively detrimental to getting people invested into the game. *
If you enjoy cosmetics, you have nothing to work towards, and never will.
If you enjoy pets, you have nothing to work towards, and never will.
If you enjoy collecting new tool skins, or gliders, you have nothing to work towards, and never will.
The only earnable rewards in Palia are home decor, and things that are used in some way to obtain home decor. (and nameplates, but we don't talk about that disaster)
The game only has a rewarding gameplay structure if you enjoy home decor as rewards, and even people who do enjoy home decor will eventually want to work towards something else.... except there's no other types of rewards to earn or show off.
heck, Disney Dreamlight Valley makes obtaining their premium shop currency possible via regular gameplay. thats so nice.
Season passes would be LEGIT. $5-$10USD for a season pass, and rewards range from plushes, pets, glider skins, tool skins, and outfits. I would SO be down for that. Or even just earning x amount of Palia coins to spend in the shop. That would work too.
Which is something we've def talked about here! I mentioned the idea that like, could have them always up. Multiple options (as they rlease more bpasses), and you can earn those points while you play, and put them in whichever pass you want. Also have an option to purchase the premium verison of it anytime.
Would have free options, and premium. Incentivise playing the game more, too. Reduce fomo, etc.
If they made the game paid they would need to remove the cash shop or make it like $5-$10. A paid game with a cash shop and no way to earn the currency is...not great.
i think itās fair for the same price as any mmo (itās about the same for me for wow and ffxiv) but i can only really pick one at a time to play, as long as palia doesnāt include something where i have to have an active sub or i lose the thing then iām ok with the same amount, cash shop can just be extra that if ppl want stuff they can have the choice
that is if they do, i love that palia is free tbh
for sure
There's a reason why there's whole communities dedicated to fashion shows in MMOs. Because people like the creativity and group interaction! With Palia, you can't do that at all.
FFXIV, WoW, and MANY other mmorpgs have mounts/fashion contests for that VERY reason!!
yea i loved showing off pets/mounts or outfits in wow/ffxiv
same with ffxiv. never got into WoW.
I was very active in ESO ones when I still played it - so fun! I would always hang out in big player hub areas and just look at everyone's character for hours
Like. You would not BELIEVE some of the crap I've done all for the sake of specific glamour pieces, hairstyles, mounts, minions, titles, etc on FF14. I got Saint on Botanist during Firmament. IYKYK.
Palia has none of that.
My fc in FFXIV would even mod, and go even further with the fashion contests! XD (Don't tell SE lmao)
yea like with any mmo itās a hit or miss, also depends if you have friends or someone to play with right away as sometimes itās hard doing that in game
Kill 1000 muujin, earn a wearable tail?? ITS OPEN SEASON.
All the people arguing "but it's only cosmetics, it's a FREE game!" forget one very important thing:
You need to provide a 'hook' to incentivize people to play the game, because you aren't going to have anyone paying, if you don't have anyone playing.
Literally!! Achivements with cosmetic rewards would be great! It rewards players and gives them a goal, increasing playtime metrics
AYO. That's what's up! I worked hard on my weaver (still didnt hit max yet, because i can only afford to play every so often) just so I could craft cute glams XD
I run a haunted house in ff14 every year. I've been trying to build a haunted forest on one of my plots in Palia. But the item selection and dye options are so limited sdfghj but that's neither here nor there currently.
I was trying to build a tavern so I could run slam poetry nights and yeah...Palia's selection doesn't lend well to roleplay which is sad
we goin HAM just for plushies but once we get them, the excitement quickly fades. cos like. its just a plushie. it sits in my house. but if it was something I could wear, the reward feels more worth it cos i can continuously SEE it.
ffxiv and wow even have halloween dungeons, let palia have something show up in the woods xD
I think people tend to forget this for sure... We aren't complaining about the game being free to play. It's great that they have made it where anyone can play without having to worry about affording it. BUT... some people won't feel the urge to buy anything if they don't even get to experience lesser free things. Some people like a grind. Some people want to have achievements that are rewarding to their interests. I don't think any of us are complaining about wanting A LOT of free stuff added. Just SOME stuff that can be obtainable to keep us playing, and maybe drive interest to making purchases when financially able.
"Look what I got!" I show my friends the plushie. It is cute. Moving on.
"Look what I got!" my friend shows me the outfit they splurged on. It's gorgeous. I keep seeing it as we play. I want it, too. But it's too expensive and/or none of the dye options look good on my char.
It's sad that when I first started playing Palia I was SO excited to run my own community and had all these ideas for events and then...I can't do any of them because of bad choices they made
Can I DM you? š®
absofrigginlutely
Sent friend request so I can ā¤ļø
Palia: "hey can you come to my house, I want to show you the plushie I got... oh but you have to friend me first or else it won't let you visit"
or "woah that outfit looks cool, where did you-- oh right, cash shop. meh."
FFXIV: "woah that person's mecha dragon looks awesome! Where can I get that? ....farming a set of trials for 7 smaller mounts, you say? wooo count me in"
while farming with a group for mecha dragon: "woah your outfit looks awesome! where'd you get it? Treasure maps you say? aw yeah I'll run those next"
upon earning mecha dragon + cool outfit you saw on another player: "aw yeah I got this cool dragon, I got this cool robes, now I need shoes that match.... hmm, I wonder if the cash shop has anything that works? oh yep THERE that's perfect!" -opens wallet-
Giving players free/earnable options can lead to sales too. That scenario I described for FFXIV that ended in a cash shop sale would have never happened without those earnable options that lead to it.
EXACTLY. And also like oooh wait what's that skirt??? ...Far Eastern Beauty's (word censored by this server's bot LOL).....okay, cash shop. Hmm. $18. Well, considering it's the only skirt like it in game, and the sheer number of things I can do with it, I'd say that's worth it.
(me in like 2018 when it dropped)
or
Oh yeesh that's a bit expensive. I can't afford that right now. ...I'll wait til August when the annual huge sale is! :D I know it'll be a bit cheaper then!!
Literally this. The ONLY problem I have with FFXIV system is just how much the monthly sub costs. But even then, I think it's worth it lol. Just wish it was like $10/mo instead of $15/mo. although I'd probably still struggle to afford it XD but even then... their cash shop is also relatively cheap.
Sooo how about for all of the Palian population that couldn't give 2 bits about plushies S6??????
Why on gods green earth weren't makeshift items included?
or valley sunrise?
or Pirate decor?
Unfortunately Palia has enough whales that just buys something everytime they release something new so the devs have no incentive to change
me in Palia's shop last night:
Okay, here's that cool shirt I saw someone wearing earlier. Finally. I've been blindly searching for like 5 minutes cos I have no way to know the item name but w/e. I want it. Which do I pick? ......Oh. None of these colors look good on my char :/
don't even get me started on the colors lmao
the colors are so bad, on both clothes and furniture
i'd get started if that Einar bot wouldn't bop the crap outta me before i was finished typing lol
I'm not sure they do though. The game hasn't been profitable for awhile, hence the layoffs and the Daybreak acquisition.
its like theyre "okay this hasnt been working the last nine times we tried it....maybe THIS TIME it will!"
you're free to DM me if you'd like to rant unfiltered lmao
Maybe with the bare skeleton crew it has they might be making money now, but for how long? It took me about a year before I became completely disillusioned with this company and game, and we're right around that point.
There are a few streamers that are Palia whales, and I've seen some folks say they've spent like $300 but it's certainly not on a huge level. They're struggling hard
right around that point for what?
Open beta just had it's one year anniversary a bit ago
Ugh yes... we need more color options. Even if they want to start something like dyes instead of furniture modification things... And the clothes... its either Super femme, very little male clothing, or ugly stuff. xD Like man... Give us some non-femme witchy stuff, some fall clothing like plaid flannels and jeans, etc.
Of course they didn't announce it or do anything for it because... Reasons
It took me about a year before I became completely disillusioned with this company and game, and we're right around that point
Sorry just confused about the wording a bit
Roan is saying we're at a year for the soft launch
Copypasta'd from glassdoor review:
Management is unwilling to listen to facts and doubles down on already failed strategies instead of changing.
OPE
Roan is an alpha tester, if that's what you're confused about, too. & theyre mentioning that open beta has been out for a little over a year, so more people are probably getting "disillusioned" with the company, since it's similar timeframe.
AAHHHHH okay okay thank you xD that makes sense now
I'm hoping it's just to test the waters lol :(
AND THATS ANOTHER THING!!
Why the hell would I spend so much on items in a game that is lowkey floundering???
They were losing money for sure but in the past, lets say year, they started releasing new outfits or way to spend on the shop with each update. I do think they at least are breaking even by now thanks to that and the 75% less employees
ah sorry roan I didnt see your 2nd message
I'm pretty sure they've thrown over 50mil in Palia so idk about breaking even
speaking monthly costs
Thank you Ori! I had to go do a show so couldn't respond sorry lol
Of course!
You mentioned you were on mobile earlier, so figured youre also busy doin' somethin hehe
Yeah at work right now. Almost done!
Heck yeah!! Hopefully this has been some entertainment for ya while you're doing your work, hahaha š
Always is!
this made me giggle btw
good. I am here to entertain.
YES, I couldn't care less about plushies
I wish they would stop wasting time and resources on useless stuff, cosmetics that are ugly imo and too expensive and actually make the game run smoothly, add accessibility feature that are missing, etc. Something - ANYTHING useful
No other reason to be here at this point TBH!
also yeah YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO ASK ME TO PAY $30 FOR AN OUTFIT when you cant even guarantee my friend won't suddenly be pseudo-ditched from the party >:/
Their priorities are waaay off, disappointing a large portion of the player base is a quick way to tank the game entirely bc they refuse to stop focusing too much on premium store. I'll be unable to play at all in 2 weeks time, indefinitely but I'll be following updates & praying that SOMETHING turns around
i wish they would release new gameplay and stuff rather than just skins/decor. its been over a year and we don't even have the new zone yet. i was really hoping for pets that you can actually interact with, or farm animals you take care of to receive cooking ingredients. the game had so much potential but i feel like its going to end up shutting down.
Yeah the whole potential for farm animals would be a huge boost in morale I think, unforunately I can also see it shutting down if they keep heading in this direction.
Quoted from GlassDoor from a former artist:
"Feedback is entirely ignored. Task priorities changing on a daily basis. The least productive company I've ever been a part of. Employees would regularly spend weeks redoing tasks and parts of the game because of management feedback. It felt very demotivating to see how little was accomplished over the course of my employment."
like they need things to keep people logging on and playing. extra decor isn't really enough. let people earn pets and character cosmetics in game. maybe like how WoW does it with "pokemon" pet battles
They spend way too much time just redoing the same things instead of making new content.
or even a battle pass. i'd spend money on a battle pass over skins/pets. at least gives me something to do to work towards them and actually play the game lol
And POTATO PODS AINT IT
isnt the market thing the only "event" they've added as well?
i haven't played too much since launch, but i did play some of the recent update
A battle pass type thing could definitely keep me interested, incentivize me to spend money and continually bring me back for sure
Yes, and they just keep reskinning it as "new content."
they could be doing different themed events for every holiday like other mmos
This is very disheartening, not surprising at all though
like the idea of a cozy farming life sim mmo is so good but i feel like they've done it so dirty lol
As a somewhat new player, I have only been playing 2 months and if this is the type of feels I get from what I have seen/heard that's not great & I know it's a shared sentiment
they have a good base, but by now the game should have a lot more gameplay content rather than just a lot more skins
During my first 2-3 weeks I saw so much potential, I felt the magic of the game and they killed it REAL quick
Yeah, it's a great concept and cool on the surface level for a bit but once you dive deeper into the company and look for more content in the end-game... You see there's not much hope left.
iām hoping with elderwoods we get more stuff as itās a new zone, and playing mmos i donāt mind waiting for new content but yea :/ it aināt looking great esp when their pushing the cash shop
It's so incredibly frustrating seeing SO much potential & knowing it's extremely likely not going to reach even a little of what it could
My biggest concern is just like.. LISTEN to feedback??? Seems incredibly basic
i feel bad for the people spending so much money on the cash shop as well. like with archeage i spent like $400 just leveling my artistry over the years and they just shut down earlier this year
and that game had a way bigger playerbase at the start lol
You'd think but the #1 most shared sentiment across all the GlassDoor reviews are that management doesn't care about feedback.
yea i seen it happen with wildstar, im happy playing as itās here, hoping it gets better with time as they work things out, idk about the acquisition that happened some ppl are for it others wary, all i can do is play and report things/send in my feedback hoping the read it
Sounds like their biggest mistake yet was letting go of the CM's
I really don't think Elderwoods is going to add as much as people think it's going to.
Couple new items? Maybe a new ore / tree type? A new huntable?
But I don't see much in the way of any new features coming.
I don't even care for new ore unless they gimme damn silver ore spawn
Sadly management didn't even listen to CMs
new upgrades to tools and new ores and stuff should've been in like the first bigger update for the game lol
That.. shouldn't be surprising
anyone else extremely disappointed that they made trading plushies only?? ive gotten literally zero from hunting/bug catching even if i wanted to trade plushies
why can't we trade resources? *>:*l
Yep, suuuper disappointed
I have a bunch of plushies and it's like oo cool I guess once I get it, but they all go onto my nephews messy plot hidden away anyway š
the first thing that really hit me was when they added pets for the first time. i was so excited just to see it was cash shop plus all it does is follow you lol
when they talked about pets it seemed like they were going to make them interactive
Yep. Trading was my only hope at actually being able to play again since fishing isn't accessible as a disabled player. I guess I have to wait even longer
Yeah they could give them 1-2 interactions & a use like, a roaming chest type thing so you can access your stuff without having to go ALL the way home for one item and such - I would pay real money for that alone
i imagined at least basic ones we can get as players without spending money, quests, events, skills anything
they never intended to interactive, just wanted to make us think so with the promo marketing
i was really hoping you'd be able to let them hang out on your plot and pet them and maybe feed them
The way they introduced pets was horrible. They advertised them as a gift for supporting the game during beta...but what they really meant was a gift to people who used the cash shop
Imagine a lil dog house/ cat bed and feeding station - such a small addition but people would get so creative with that stuff alone. How cute
not even a gift as you pay for it
i get they need money to run the game, but they need content to make people play the game and spend money in the game lol
i can think of ffxiv that has an island sanctuary that you can place your pets on and they wander around, if like something like that, even if itās only in a certain area like a āplay areaā
Always grinds my gears for ANY advertised item, in game or not to include a free gift after you spend over a certain amount.. ain't foolin me
from unofficial sources it looks like it's going to nearly double resources and increase the bug & fish by about 50%
Mmm I see a lot of comparison to other MMOs but Palia is really my introduction, and not a great one at that so I can only imagine the disappointment of the rest of y'all with nice experiences in similar games
i was a little disappointed with island sanctuary, but the game has so much more to do. it added some good solo content to earn extra rewards
You do tend to get quite a few over time from Zekis Machine. A shame we can't trade the piles of non Plush duplicates people have.
I really didn't think Potato pods were Plush exactly either š¤ but at least they can be traded! I know someone got 4 axels at the pod launch š
yea a lot of ppl have this as their first mmo and itās a little sad this is the exp everyone is getting, i know itās new and in beta but i think it could have done a lot better :(
palia is basically if ffxiv was only island sanctuary lol. (plus indoor decorating)
one day i hope they do nice update
it hurts me both physically and mentally to fish [still no giant goldfish if anyone is wondering, 1000+]
i didnāt even do much with it as i got confused xD got it obtained and was like āthat was funā
It's sad because it's not even an mmo, it's just a singleplayer game in a multiplayer setting. I can't imagine thinking this is an MMO and then going to an actual one. It would be like culture shock
it took me a long time but i maxed mine out for all the rewards š„²
I gave up on that dang goldfish and I'm only maybe 300ish attempts in
im not trading away anything i got from zeki machine/twitch drops, the rng is horrid as it is
im honestly looking forward to infinity nikki. its not an mmo but you could compare it because its a f2p cozy game
Oh I meant like, who needs 6 spring fox plushes. I certainly don't š
I would never trade away an item I had one of!
and it'll have a lot of gacha aspects, but if its like other gacha you'll be able to earn stuff just from playing the game
The only other MMO I could think of that I've played is runescape lol.
A great fallen soldier, OG runescape was my introduction into MMOs and it was great
iRO was mine then runescape
Mine was toontown online and then wizard101
oh yeah toontown as well, i love that - i still hop on from time to time
I watched my brothers play OS like 20 years ago, and only about 2 years ago I started RS3, and even then that community rips into devs and the state of the game lmao
i also played this game called jumpstart? but ive literally never found any confirmation that it actually existed so it could be a fever dream for all i know lol
ppl are passionate about their hobbies, gaming isnāt any different and ppl want to see this game succeed :(
all i see are content creators saying how excited they are for the updates in palia. and im like excited for what?? lol
every other mmo content creators just s*** on the mmo they play and those games have way more content lol
yeah i wanna see this game succeed for the sake of the devs who give a damn but i have a funny feeling the whitecollars are gonna ruin it for all of us
That was me for the first month, not anymore but as I said earlier I still have enough hope to follow updates š
pour one out for Free Realms btw
i think the update for the new zone will kinda make or break the game
Yeah I can see that, my expectations for the new area are pretty low - just run around and be like ooh cool, that was a nice 15 minutes and then it will blend into the rest of the mundane tasks
If they even make it that far, tbh
yeah if thats all it is the game will probably end up dying
im honestly surprised the average steam players is 6k
hunt squirrel-beavers
I think it's in part inflated because there's a high streamer rate for Palia since it's an easy game to stream. There's not much going on (for better or worse) so you don't really have to focus on anything.
a game like this would really benefit from more ways to collect things or puzzles/map completion
God I want puzzles so much. We need games to play at anytime, in the tavern or on our plot. Give us something to do with friends!
if there were outfits to collect i'd be playing a lot more. decor alone just isnt really enough to keep me interested
6k isn't that much though. I suspect a large portion of the PC playerbase has migrated there for achievements and such, but if we're generous and say Steam only accounts for 10% of the playerbase that's only 60k players. For them to recoup their $50 million investments every single one of those 60k players needs to have spent almost $850.
Still think hotpot should of been something you could have on your own plot. Even if you can't earn the currency for the prize wheel with it.
Imagine a guess-who like game with all the Palia characters that you play in the tavern, amazing
and itās kinda of āmake it up as you goā ppl doing house tours, setting themes for ppl to make their property in, playing hide and seek with your (the streamers) community, so itās harder for the player community to just go do things
true but there a lot of other f2p mmos that have way more content with not many more players
lets go puzzle pirates
i honestly would go back to playing that then just trying to fish/other rng
like BDO is basically f2p and they have been getting like 10k players average
i think it should be similar to what wow has, you drop down a table and can play a game with whoever joins
Do people actually play Hotpot or is it still just a big farming thing where people get mad if you actually want to be somewhat competitive?
or new world is buy to play for a decent price and they were sitting at 5k average players until this recent update
i like hot pot, not as much as some others tho
I started new world, it was fun but I'm not great at making friends on games so I got bored on my own and gave up pretty quickly
i usually try to get my hand done first but itās ok if i lose i still get a coin :)
I love new world I mainly play solo
i guess its hard comparing palia to other mmorpgs since its kinda one of a kind. maybe other f2p mmos are too daunting for most cozy gamers
I've definitely heard and seen people get mad when people want to actually play it instead of just going around letting everyone/ a certain person win
Ive played since release
A mix. I still see people just trying to farm for stuff.
People do that? I play competitively š is that frowned upon by some?
if you try again, try looking for a chattier social guild;; some are purely game content focused
Unfortunately. Some people just want to get it done & over with fast, so they can get as many coins/tokens as possible for the wheel haha
Some do yeah. I don't find an issue with them doing that, but some will get rude if others dont want to play the same way
yea if it wasnāt for the discord fr i prob would have stopped playin palia for a bit until more got added to it, like i played first descendent/once human too but my fam canāt cuz computers canāt handle it, so iām alone and i loved playing but i donāt really go out of my way to talk to ppl sadly in them and i just now log on every other week
Will do! I am definitely open to trying it again in future when I have time, hoping one day I'll convince my bf to try it out
This is valid! I just enjoy gathering/crafting, honestly. š Sometimes there's some more social people there, but i think with the influx of players currently, new world is swarmed with a lot of... banter, for lack of 'better' words
the gathering in new world is just top tier. the sound design is too good lol
ābanterā

Yeah I feel the same, I'm glad I found the discord for sure
Listen, you know exactly what i mean
its been pretty bad in global since the update š
That was my favourite part too, I might download it just bc I have no reason to load up Palia again for a while
i honestly think palia would benefit from in game voice chat
the world chat is šÆ
š¤£
Definitely. It's kinda funny reading them argue which is "master race" though. "Ps5!!! PC!!!" etc ... i saw them argue over who has a better gaming chair yesterday....
But then there's some where im like ... Yeah. This is ""banter""
I've been playing GW2 and waiting for Bitcraft's alpha. Also vintage story - it's fun but challenging which I love
Yeah! I just like zoning out and gathering a lot. I feel like it's super easy to do on New World, and it gives me that "idle game" vibe that i enjoy sometimes.
I feel like it would, but there's no chance with how hard they push the game being inclusive and community focused, friendly. If anyone dared voice a different opinion there'd be pitch forks and it wouldn't end well & they definitely wouldn't have anyone monitoring it
Inclusive until you disagree w the mob
its sooooooo inclusive, me and 24 other ppl
yeah and i honestly dont even think it would be that bad. in new world i've hardly heard anyone use voice chat in general. and when i do here it its usually just friendly chat and maybe a little troll here and there lol
I suggested a VC for the discord and even that was shot down real fast
as someone thats played mmorpgs since 2008 and farming sims for even longer, i really do want this game to succeed. the idea is like my dream game lol
Tbh, I feel like this would be awful. Not moderated, and uh.. yeah. I'mma leave it at that
Yes, it has the potential to be a dream game for me also, and many others I'm sure.. maybe one day it'll come close to reaching it's potential.. maybe š„²
most people that play games like this are too afraid to say mean stuff in voice from my experience lol
i think of kilima/bahari as the tutorial/starter areas and i hope they add more ppl to servers so itās not always like that
way easier to type mean things. not like this is call of duty š
they dont want a vc here bc they cant handle moderating it
they no longer pay their official mods here
Unless they found a way to ensure you can turn the VC off, and make sure it stays off, (I know they have an option to turn off the text chat but it doesn't always work) then yeah...maybe no VC haha. I know the playerbase is primarily adults, but some do let their children play.
true and i was talking about an in game voice. i didnt event realize they dont even have discord voice lol
Not exactly what my concern is-- people being mean. I mean, that would suck sure, but uhm.
There's been people reporting & talking about creeps on the game via text chat, and i dont like the idea of that branching to voice chat. I worry about the kids.
At the end of the day, how much moderation is rly necessary though, like we aren't all children & can handle ourselves, the ability to mute/report would suffice surely
thatās what discord is for i feel
you wanna vc and your palia friends are ok with it? ask them to join a channel you make
ah yeah i could see that
Some kids do play the game tho
too many creeps try to jump on stuff like that. we already got some with the basic chat we have rn. we dont need anymore avenues for em
Yeah that would have to be necessary for it to work at all
Oh fr? I haven't seen any mention of creeps - thats a shame
Unfortunately...
its deleted 30 seconds after ppl post about it
They always gotta ruin it
i guess with the game being on switch there are more kids. im sure most of the pc playerbase is adults though
they exist everywhere and get into ANYTHING that can even be an avenue for their targets...
Oh I see, shady
Yeah, the playerbase is primarily adults. Some that play are kids, or do let their kids play though.
I let my nephew play supervised, he's only learning to read tho but I can definitely see the concerns. Wouldn't want him to share any of the experiences I did growin up online
mhm xD
glad to know we're all in agreement that this game is borked
you'd think riot and blizzard employees would know what to prioritize in an mmo lol
if they're still even working on the game
probably not or are the managers and bosses
who knows things got shuffled around
š im also playing gw2
I have had run ins with ppl about speed runs lol Every time someone sez this is a speed run hurry up! I will deliberately take the counter down to the last sec and pick a card. I play to win I have also been spammed out of a table cuz ppl want their friends there but now...I spam faster than they do and I don't lose my table
Can someone clear somethiong up for me? I read we can trade plushies and potatoheads... Does anyone know the exact details of what we can trade besides plushies and potatoheads? Is this all we can trade with the new trading system as a whole, even when the new content comes out?
plushies thats it
for now at least
Well, Im hoping it will be a full fledged trading system, otherwise, this doesnt impress me and was hoping for so much more. But, Ill reserve the extended criticism till we all know whats going on for sure with it.
Thanks, Tiny...
Well, atleast we got a ton more cash shop content... thats always a +.
it won't be full fledged trading, at least not next patch, maybe someday in the future
they specifically call it "Plush Trading"
Yeah, I went back and re-read it... still, not impressed. Thanks for the info though, Tiny.
late response, but iirc a lot of people did so not so much for the achievements, but because logging in through steam means you can get straight to playing after booting up the game instead of having to enter login info every time
Imagine if they put weather in the game, like seasons and stuff, and gave us weather/season specific bugs/fish/animals etc. idk I just think itād be really cool!
they always had weather planned, maybe still on their timeline but that won't be until they've optimized the game more
at least they have a seasonal map for kilima now
Yeah, imagine... š
I just wanna snow surnuk šš
They do a little bit of that already with the fall/winter reskins of Kilima
Hey guys, I don't know if it's already been discussed, but are there any plans for ranch animals?
No word of that.
I've heard talk of "elderwoods" being a new map/area, anyone know what thats all about?
Youāre so quick Tiny! I just found it to copy here. š
thank you, thats super exciting!!
Is the "introducing Skins" line in the patchnotes a typo? It doesn't make any sense
yeah its very confusing lol
we'll have to see, but spectral vow sounds more like the bride outfit
the Veilhunter outfit didn't get the special mention, so it logically follows that this "Skins" is something quite different
it's even capalized like some kind of new feature name
option would be that the outfit will come with its own rly pale skintones so its actually a ghost bride and not a random bride outfit
Well, they certainly aren't using those skins tones in the trailer, if true
and yet another outfit that doesn't fit with the game... seriously? does anyone see this type of attire as mining or fishing attire?
It's a pretty outfit, but I agree with your sentiment.
All this lore with not much to show for it in terms of cosmetics
it is pretty, not going to deny that. just immersion is just thrown out the window when you see people mining something in that
Just play on Switch so everyone is a silhouette
if they made/releassed bahari city the dresses would fit better š
already do, my friend, all ready do
I just want earnable skill themed cosmetics tbh
all this fancy dress up costume stuff can stay cash shop, just give me earnable outfits that fit in with the world
which is usually how a lot of cash shops in other games do things anyways:
if it fits into the world, it's something you obtain in the world
if it's immersion breaking fancy flashy costume stuff, it's cash shop.
if only that could be true of palia as well
yes, if they made an actual city area that's not a country village type and have the high class people that the npc's talk about then yeah, totally will see these outfits there
Another nothing update? You shouldn't have!
I'm actually fine with the current system of tremendously basic free clothes and cool paid outfits, but if that's the route they're going to take, we should hold everything to a high standard
On another note, that's.... a LOT of premium stuf holy....
They got that premium cash shop content down to a science.... imagine what the game would be like if their focus was on it.
I really do hope that the new "Skin" they claim to be releasing isn't like... an actual skin tone though. We already get the vast majority of our new hairstyles paywalled because they're "part of an outfit" despite S6 saying that the idea was to keep our core character customization (as skin/hair/etc) free >>
If they did sell a new skin tone would it be limited to changing once every week š¤
if I had to make a guess though, they probably plan to monetize things like body paints and tattoos and whatnot
things that get applied to your character's skin, basically
The Soothsayer fit has what looks like glowing tattoos already
not rly more premium stuff than last patch and this patch at least adds a lot of new stuff
especially landscaping, rocks etc. which we were asking for a long time now
I'm guessing skins might be like tattoos?
We honestly have no idea. It's a bit confusing, since they mentioned an outfit skin, which ... just looks like the usual outfit skins.
Stellar comms as always...
That's S6's specialty. Just look at this joke of a trading system that they hyped up for the last few months with "It won't just be Potato Pods!" making us think it's not going to be super limited.
Just another bait and switch to keep people playing.
Honestly, i don't care about the plushies and pods. They're just another thing (amidst a bunch of other things) to put in my house.
Well that's... Basically the only thing to do in the game, so rip lol
I feel like they're taking the things that were fun and making them catagorically unfun. The plushies were neat at first, because there was finally a way to get them besides the gacha and drops, but the RNG made it brutal. Hotpot was great, then they made it a grind. The maji market was a delight, now it's buggy and another grind with unbearable wait times.
You can only trade plushies?
I really want to have fun in this game again but alas
And the potato pods.
I'm so bored with it
Brutal
i haven't played in two weeks now, minecraft on the switch is far more fun (currently) than palia...
I've never played mine craft
Same, I've been playing Splatoon. I'm gonna grab core keeper for my b-day and that might be my new primary game.
I sat at my PC to play but ended up turning it off and now I'm watching the Yankees
The last few times I've thought about playing I've just remembered that I've done everything fun and that logging in is only going to make me more angry at the wasted potential.
if other trading was made it would make parts of the game obsolete as thats the point of the game is took hunt and catch items yourself so yes ONLY plushies make sense and really it makes plushies less special bringing in trading
This is factually incorrect.
People play games because they want to play them. Adding trading for the people that do want it does not effect other players in any way.
Trading is also an accessibility tool, one that is very needed in Palia.
thing is, once i get the plushies that i'm missing (the muujin set simply because hunting on switch for them is the worse) i will never use the trading system again, probably. the potato pods are something that i would want to eventually set out in my home, but if they are going to release all of them over time, i'm patient enough to wait for them
Something that is an option cannot make something obsolete, and if it does it's because the thing it made obsolete was flawed to begin with.
how when it makes you not need to gather and hunt if that option was available
as you can justst get it for free from someone by trading them
It is an option. People that want to gather things themselves are free to not use it, while the people that do want or need the feature have it available. It's a non-issue.
oh and i didnt know that
which the request system is (depending on who you ask). you can only request things that you have already gotten, which means if you have arthritis, or carpal tunnel syndrome (something that i might be developing) fishing and other tasks can be difficult to do.
i knew that when i made my statement
The point of trading is you need an item to trade.
It's not "free"
i know!
obviously yous 2 are the ones that want the game to be made easier by being able to trade items and not going to collect them yourself, we are gamers that dont do the achievements and level we are gamers to trade
That's not what anyone is saying.
well i wasnt saying its free and or not an option but thats what you 2 said i was meaning by the looks
i know both these things but if you had options to trade other items people would abuse it
like they do with other parts of the game
How do you think people will 'abuse' it?
by not going and collecting things for themselves and just trading items like they may have to go and get a say sernuk meat for something else but then that stops them from making th effort to go get that other item
Why would it make anything obsolete?
If I donāt like to catch bugs, but like to fish, why shouldnāt I be able to trade my epic fish for a epic bug?
And even if Id give someone a epic fish for a stone, how would that impact your gaming experience?
But if they want to play that way it doesn't effect you at all.
becuase you havent went and collected it
i do my own work. the problem is that hunting muujin on switch is nearly impossible to do. by the time you cut the tree that the dogs are in and get your bow out to hit them, the dang things are half way across the seeable map and up another tree. trying to join a group that's already hunting them is also difficult because of typing on the switch takes away the full screen and by the time i type out what i want to say, the others are gone. no attack, just explaining
begging some of y'all to play more than Palia when it comes to MMOs so you're not afraid of basic, standard systems
its the same as people sayingnthe game is about money and not how you play the game that matters now... like we dont work towards it we just buy it or swap it
i donāt think thatās abusing anything, in other mmos if i compare it: iām too lazy to go look for materials for alchemy so i go to the auction house/get my sister to trade me so i can get them
doesnāt bother anyone, and if the other player wants something in return that can be discussed between them
itās really silly to think that bartering would be considered āabusing the gameā in a community based game like palia
How does my gaming experience impact yours?
I donāt know you, 99,9% chance we will never be on the same server.
its like ppl are feeling attacked XD
Genuinely, why does it matter to you if someone didn't actively go out and collect something?
i simply said i feel that way and im getting told i cant feel that way but others can feel the way they do about what ive said ... ok
We're in a discussions channel so we're discussing it
It's a discussion channel, people are discussing. No one has been rude to you, people are asking questions to understand
no you can feel that way itās ok! iām sure thereās others who feel the same, kinda like how requests was mentioned and itās kinda expected that you go find the item first
well y'all are, I'm just kinda watching tiredly at this point
and ive stated what i did that i see it as making the game less
im being told what ive stated isnt correct
Well I regret poking my head in here
i think thatās why their starting with plushies first to see how it goes, if their gonna keep it with requests which are materials or not
and thats YOUR point of veiw and this is mine
lets hope it goes well
I hope I can trade flow wood later down the line but I have high doubts s6 will expand the trading past plushies and potato pods
mhm weāre only speculating anyway how it all is going to be
i feel like trading is anything not material like the plants/fish etc, so like plushies, decor
you can request flow wood this is another reason i dont see the need for trading as you can request it once you have collected it
It didnt even click that the whole "it wont just be potato pods" coulda just meant other plushes lol, i just thought it was about some other kind of item or whatever š
and wee more delayed response because backreading
If they upped the request amount I'd use the feature more. I don't wanna wait weeks to build up one flow wood at a time.
i dont care about other items its just hunting items and stuff im talking about i dont see as a good idea to trade
mmhm
The issue with the system is that some skills are not accessible for disabled players. So for example, I am disabled and cannot do the fishing skill. I cannot request fishing items I need for quests because I cannot collect those items to begin with.
Honestly as long as I can get stuff from trading that I'm locked out of cause of horrible rng or it will destroy my wrist, I'll be happy
and this is what i was trying to say, and i'm sorry if it came off as an attack
may i ask what as fishing is rather relaxed and i have a friend on here that can really only fish and not hunt or they will have a fit
I'm here to have fun and enjoy my time, not make my arthritis flair up soo bad I can't even try to rest my wrist without being in pain
I'm disabled. I physically can't hunt for very long, or my hands, fingers and arms get inflamed. The same goes for bug catching. If I don't limit myself, this inflammation can last for over a day. Sometimes multiple.
Fishing is a pain. I can't hold down my mouse button much or at all, without my finger getting in a lot of pain, too. Fishing is at the point where I just can't do it now. It causes actual pain.
I am disabled and have issues with movement in my wrist. Repetitive moving (especially side to side) is very painful, which fishing requires. So I am unable to fish without very intense physical pain.
chronic pain club
im surprised yous play a game you cant do most stuff in
for me personally, there are days when my entire right hand (dominate hand) is completely numb to where i can't feel anything. it goes away after a while, but i have a really hard time doing anything when it's like that
I mean I play games I stink at because I have fun
Personally, fishing is the only skill I have issues with.
Cooking is sometimes hard, but I can at least get help from other players. With fishing, there is nothing I can do.
i prob wouldnt be on palia if i was dealing with that stuff would drive me crazy
I barely play now because of the inaccessibility. I am mainly here at this point for the community bc I care for them, to help people if they need it (navigating menus, quests), and to see if they end up adding accessibility. I like to check these things.
They advertised this game as inclusive, as something people can play how they want.
I'm still hoping this becomes the case in the future, and that they add future accessibility features that can help and benefit with that.
I play games to have fun and if workarounds exist I'm using them to my advantage. Since s6 can't add any accessibility things, then this trading system could really help
i donāt think you can tell ppl what they can and canāt play, everyone knows their limits and plays what they enjoy, itās a hobby that everyone loves and they go at their own pace, especially since nothing is time sensitive or button mashin as other mmos (not attacking just saying)
i didnt
youve just hit your limits
their status on their profile says āinternet trollā so letās not feed them shall we

see south park obviously not
I was trying to give benefit of the doubt that it was in a jokey way
I used to play a lot more often when my disability wasn't as ... ugh, words are hard, but wasn't affecting me as much essentially. I used to be able to do a lot more than I can now.
So for me, as well, I like hopping on for the nostalgia and memories I did have from back when I used to play. Like, it was still a struggle then, but not by this severity. So sometimes, i just like to run around even if I'm not doing anything.
All in all, i just care about the community in general, and to just help when I can if possible. Even if I don't play much or at all anymore. I keep the game installed for those reasons to help.
