Personally I hope the home tour thing goes away. Too much stuff and things making data bloat ,memory leaks, game freezes, game crashes and failure to load the stores and tavern. The last Maji Market was a mess and had the same glitches then just like now. There is nothing more infuriating than to have a hotpot game freeze and when you come back its game over cuz its 4AM when it was 9PM when you started! This game needs serious optimization A.S.A.P before anymore stuff gets added.Granted it is a hoarders paradise and after I have toured the homes I can see why. How does one accumulate so many of the same plushies and why does one have 30 + working machines? There needs to be caps on everything its just too much clutter and the rest of us are having a hard time playing without hiccups ,freezes and crashes. BTW for all you out there try researching the ins and outs of video games and you will realize "the norm" in the industry is your RNG is determined by your microtansactions. Go to gamepur.com and read how it is and keep throwing your $$ at S6 in hopes you'll get a decent game. Don't yell at me I don't make the rules I just play around them and enjoy what I can with as little real life $$ as possible.

I am glad others have noticed! It definitely needs to be optimized. The longer my session, the higher the chance that it stutters and has issues and eventually crashes. At which point only restarting my computer flushes the memory properly. Palia is the only game I play that behaves this way. My higher end games don't have this issue at all.

Yes it would be nice to have a way to get the other plots some visibility Slyvablade's plot is in development but its cute. I like what was done with the PalTech in the crafting room. The kitchen area is impressive and I love the little area where the washing line is. My plot name is Brirchwood Inn...It's a slighly didfferent approach to a build because my eyes don't like too many bright colors together.

Liked your small build. I discovered when I was experimenting with Landmark...the game that was supposed to be EQ3 before SONY canceled it, that small builds were so much more manageable. Did you also find that those purple flowers had a weird hit box when you were trying to water them?

Hi, I have a question, maybe dumb one but still - is this game going to be ever something more when it comes to action? I like gathering things and building my home, it’s super cozy and I enjoy it but not sure how long it will take until I start to miss some action. I’m not talking about PvP or bosses and things like that but some light PvE, any kind of combat? Honestly, I was dreaming of only PvE version of WoW with the style Palia has, that would have been dream come true.

Palia has just gotten boring. After playing MTAS for the last month I have come to realize the minimal effort S6 has put into this game. Even their multiplayer part is kinda boring but 100 times better than the whole game of Palia.

Guys- is anyone else getting annoyed at S6 and Palia? The potato pods are cute, but that does NOT make up for Maji Market or any other type of content (quests, etc.). Maji Market should have started almost a month ago? I've been waiting so patiently for a real update but these furniture collections and expensive skins are not cutting it. PLUS- the fact that they haven't even tried to change the "Domestic Diligence" name leaves me seething with anger. Do they only care about emptying our pockets?

I’ve only just put up my plot for the second week in a row. I don’t know where I’m at currently, but last week, I have a total of 40ish, with 32 (I think) being the “It’s Magical” reaction.

I’ve seen some of the same names fluctuate up and down the trending list for multiple weeks, and they’re mostly the empty plots/plushie plots/empty houses.

Only once, and no, I didn’t do the “like for like” nonsense. I just put my username in there. I don’t care about specific reactions. I think that helped get me to 10, but with how flooded that channel is. I think the rest of them were from people I engage with naturally in this server or in game.

As for your earlier statement about only visiting plots on the same home server: I disagree, simply because that’s an extremely limited. Like many of us have said, if they removed the nameplates being put behind the number of votes you get, it wouldn’t be like this. I’ll dig through my previous messages to see if I can find what I specifically said.

I like being able to randomly choose a plot, whom I have zero clue who the owner is, and seeing what they’re up to.

Oh yes! that is a great idea and would work well I think. People are reward oriented which is probably why Palia put a reward attached to it. They might be afraid the tours will fail if not.

That way, we can still see various plots! Some people have suggested having a minimum plot value requirement. That wouldn’t work with this current system because that wouldn’t stop people from crafting a ton of Dragontide items, then lining it up in a row to meet that value requirement.

the tiered nameplates should be based on the number of reactions you give of a certain type, and because it would be based on the player giving instead of receiving, it would keep the tours live, people don't have to be rushed because there's no time limit, and people can actually get what they want out of the tours instead of being discouraged to the point where they say screw it, not worth it

I see more lacklustre plots than I do amazing ones, and I’m a very creative person, so I rarely see something that inspires me. I don’t mean that in a rude way, it’s just a lot of what I see are things I’ve already done, thought of, or didn’t care for. It’s some of the glitch builds that inspire me because I’ve thought of it already, but didn’t know how to execute it.

I do have high hopes for this game, and I am excited for new gameplay, whenever that will be. I know I’ve critiqued various things here and there, but I don’t want to come off as negative. It’s exhausting and that’s not who I am as a person. That said, I’m refraining from diving into more topics of the touring system because it’s beating a dead horse. We all hate the system, and I don’t need to reiterate my stance every week. 😅

i would think that second floor rooms would be available sometime in the future, probably after the full release of the game though, seeing as how there are spaces already set up to where the rooms would connect (the large gap between the window in the second story is directly above the openings in the bottom floor

I do know you can actually place normal trees inside the pavilion totally vanilla, I happened upon that accidentally while moving planted trees around but that does looks like a glitch trick

I'm still bothered that there's no CM. Like, if the company was really trying to save on income then why don't they inquire about volunteer CMs? I don't know how late I am about this, because I just restarted playing since Alpha, but I still think it's a role that really spiffed up the whole community idea.

because it's a trap. you hold and release at the target, not press at the target. most normal mini games that involve that type of mechanic are press at target

Regarding volunteer CMs: At least over here, for-profit companies legally cannot accept volunteer labour. CMs do directly work for the company, answering questions, summarising feedback, etc, therefore I think they might not be able to legally do that. Note that I am not a lawyer, and also do not know the details of labour law in S6's place.

They also had 3 cms if i remember and they were all let go due to budget cuts so honestly just be glad the mods are answering questions to the best of there ability. They finally had dropped a dev blog after not doing it for months when the cm's poofed

S6 is located in California, there's nothing stopping them from taking volunteer CM's in our employment laws that I'm aware of. I'm pretty sure they could have one CM as an employee and then have volunteer CM's work under that CM.

This is something that Palia in general struggles with, imo.

They do have a gamma-slider setting that you can adjust. There should be a button called "Calibrate Screen" (or something similar) to find the gamma setting.

Your plot of land might have gotten glitched (especially if you have something near it like flowers/fence/other stuff😅) move your plot out of the way and then you can probably place it back. It's just needs to reset a bit.

Also, weeds will make your crops not grow. Mentioning this just in case you had weeds you didn't pick at all or on time.

Ok so I just tried to play my morning hotpot. The first table decided that they were a "fast play table" so I left mid game. The next table l joined was doing something I've never seen before. They were just drawing and discarding extremely fast. They tell me just keep drawing. I know what they're doing and why but this is getting ridiculous. It's a rare insect in Maji Hollow. You can use a honey lure or just walk around there from time to time maybe it's spawned.

Try server hopping! If you have friends added in game, you can "join their server" and it'll pop you into the hollow in a new, fresh server where a mantis might not have been caught or spooked yet. If you don't have friends or they're offline, travel home via the map or the sign boards and then run back to kilima, this will also almost always put you in a new server that way you get fresh chances for one to be there. Buzzy jars help too, they'll tell you if there's a bug in the hollow quickly so you can waste less time and get back to server hopping to a new one. Good luck!

Okay S6, here's what you do:

• Take this Emberborn Reed Planter concept
• Make the edging more neutral (or just remove it all together)
• Replace the Reeds with an assortment of flowers (they don't even have to sway in the wind)
• Make like 5-6 variations of the flower arrangement
• Randomize the generation of them when placed (like with that random book thing)

Now I can have a plot full of lush flowers without having to tank my item limit.

I think it's one of the ghosts of the unlootable previous treasure chests that have become annoyingly persistent especially recently. There was a winterlights chests on top of the barrel, I think it's the same type of item noise people are reporting in, say, the statue garden but there's no chest there to loot.

Or there is a chest, like the one I re-found on the docks, but you cannot loot it even if it gives you the option and the animation

Since there are only so many cards that you can draw from the center (there are 96 cards in the game, each player has 8 at the start, so 64 cards or 16 rounds to draw), this could be a good way to farm prize wheel coins.

I prefer smaller houses, I do have one plot that just stores a bunch of random stuff in it that was big early on but all my new plots are much smaller. Just essential house rooms only. I think houses are cuter when packed tight with stuff and you really make a small space function for a lot of things.

I'm not sure if that was a real question or a rhethoric one, but in case it was a real one:
You've got a limit of 3000 things you can place. So, for example, you could theoretically place 3000 log cabin chairs and nothing else. EVERYTHING (besides possibly houses and housing addons) counts for those.
There are a few other limits, I know there are ones for building blocks and flowers, not sure if there are ones for other items. They mean that out of those 3000 items, a maximum of 1000 can be flowers. So, you could have 1000 rose flowers and 2000 log cabin chairs on your plot, but not 2000 rose flowers and 1000 log cabin chairs, even though both of those would fit the 3000 items limit.

(Obviously, rose flowers and log cabin chairs are replaceable with any flower/any item, I just picked two to be able to make it a more concrete example.)

All villagers have 10 hearts in their relationship bar. Gifting normal, liked, and loved items, talking, doing quests raises heart levels. Gifting disliked and hated items and passage of time lowers heart levels. Romanceable villagers have the 9th and 10th hearts locked until a player gifts them a bouquet. if you've bought all the big stuff you wanted (e.g. lots of rooms if you're into decorating), i think the most common thing is dumping into zeki's lucky coins (10k each at underground) to use at the lucky machine. not much point once you have everything you want from it, but they do add new things periodically

otherwise i think people who have run out of things to buy just stockpile money in high value items instead of selling them to avoid hitting the cap. for example stockpiling apple seeds, cakes, gems, rare bugs and fish. if star quality you can store stuff on another plot so it doesn't take up storage space

That's what they get for releasing it on Switch. The Switch is a potato. And that's coming from someone who has one. Only reason I bought it was for ACNH, I won't attempt any other games on it, because Switch.

And bugs are never going to get fixed. I've made peace with that, they keep saying they've fixed things, like the bugs and animals disappearing into walls/ground, and yet, they still do it.

And they've gotten NO solutions to the pebbles issue, nor to the fact that many of us got locked out of getting the pal-tech radio and wall light recipes. They never will fix it, we're just supposed to smile and give them more money. Heck, they can't even role out a timely fix for the unreal launcher issue they borked last patch. This is why I refuse to give them any more money.

I work in the service industry. If you asked for my restaurant to remake a drink or an entree that was wrong in some way, and we either refused, told you it was fine, or remade it and it was still wrong, no one would fault you for leaving a bad review, or refusing to come back, or even pay for the botched meal. Yet, somehow, in gamer land, we're supposed to suck it up. Bad service is bad service, no matter the industry. And bad service does not keep the doors open and the lights on.

I'd love to see this game right itself, because it scratches a cozy itch, but I'm also a realist and I can be honest about red flags that are out there flapping in the breeze for all to see. Denial by players doesn't change very real issues.

Never heard of Daybreak, but I have a slew of cozy games through Steam. Some good, some fun for one play through, and others total disappointments. That's why I like Palia, like if they were fixing bugs and rolling out real content every couple of months, I'd throw them $10-$15 a month, but they're not.

I have zero issue with the money I spend on my WoW sub every month, nor on what I pay for xpacs every year or two. It's worth it to me for the time I put into it.

Heck, there is a steam game I adore called The Planet Crafter....if there's a cozy space game, this might be it, although decorating really isn't a big thing. But a chunk of the player base kept screaming for multiplayer, even though it went against the story line of the game. Long story short, the 2 person dev team was able to hire someone else, they got it done, and now this tiny studio with like 4 people now, has a game that has sold over a million copies on Steam.

You would think that considering where all the S6 devs came from, they should understand player feedback, but shrug

I don't hate the fairy! It just doesn't make sense right now, lore wise. There are no fairies in Palia (at least not yet). Like the Sand-whatever outfit, that's just a nod to Dune (which I love) but again, makes ZERO sense in game.

That's why my character runs around in the basic clothes for the most part. She's fishing, mining, farming, hunting all day. Those clothes make sense for what she's doing. Give us a Bahari city zone and I'll change up her clothes to reflect her being in a city.

They "released" too early, pretty sure because they were out of money.
They didn't listen to their players, but still didn't work on new content (? how ever this is possible)
Players left / dont buy $$$-stuff because they did a lot of stuff players didnt like or didn't work on even the small stuff they wanted.

Now they are in that bad spot: they need to release a lot of new content to get old players back, yet still need to drip feed a bit of content to the players, so they don't lose all of them and get at least some money AND need to fix their existing issues.

Yet, despite having that pointed out numerous times by numerous players, they're still clinging to a terrible business model.

FTP games relying on even micro transactions don't last long, for the most part. Ask Zynga about that.

I was moderator for a mobile game for a short time and they contracted out to a company called Helpdesk... there was one employee number who always answered correctly, the other numbers... it was a complete roll of the dice. there's a few items i can see counting globally, mainly the crafters (minus the kitchen equipment) and the soil plots, everything else shouldn't count, especially trees and flowers and buildings. we have access (and have to buy) to at least 9 (default plus 8 purchaseable) plots. decorating one to full capacity counts against all the other plots so there's no reason to really go all out on the other plots as they will constantly be less and less building done on the others

I understand both sides, I personally prefer to just play solo, and will call out stuff only if the server I'm on calls out for stuff, otherwise I will just leave a flare for palium and that's it.

Minimum cake party stations: 3 ovens, at least 2 or three prep stations (one to start the recipe, one or two for a spreader [spreaders can double or triple spread but it can be slower if there's only one]), 4-6 mixing stations (for leaf, frosting, batter, and fruit frosting) but more is better so you can separate tasks, and I'd have a couple extra stations made in storage just for case people swap roles or you get more folks. Smallest party I've hosted that ran smoothly was 7 people plus me and we all did double or triple roles.

Small cake party set up on my kitchen plot, if it's a cooking/focus food party I swap the three extra mixing tables for 4 stoves!

Exactly, flowers are working as intended but the trees aren't I had contacted them about the trees counting across all plots as well as the machinery, certain decor pieces, etc. asking about the status of all these items counting towards every plot we made there after, and these were the replies I got.
Then I was also told it was the first time anyone had reported anything other than trees and flowers counting towards the decoration limit by the 2nd person that replied to my ticket. That's why I said I'm not sure they completely understand what's going on

This is usually server specific and the fix is to travel home and reload your game before heading back out, it usually fixes it if you're in a new server at that point. I agree though, I hope they can patch this issue.

Debris & Foliage - annoying they are there but also in a way only ones that make an iota of sense - they count on all plots because if you chop/mine them then they’re gone across all plots. Not that I agree that’s good either though!

Might not be accounting for the fact you're on the other side of the International Date line and only factoring in the time difference? Maybe, without looking, but I think that could be it.

Seems like an issue with the app they're using for the timestamp conversion, like mentioned above, might be the reason why it doesn't register the correct way for your location. The fact still stands that the updates are 1) always the last Tuesday of the month in s6's timezone and 2) always at the same time, so you should be able to still plan accordingly via their consistent announcements and schedule.

They probably use a third party app like Sesh to convert timestamps on discord so it wouldn't surprise me if the date itself wasn't being properly switched since it's a code that they copy/paste into the announcement, and I'm not a coder at all but it would track that it'd have a hard time bumping the date to the next day for future folk!

Yesss i do! It is different everytime...I've been restarting the game. I'm on the Switch, and the bugs 🐛 are like an infestation...but I absolutely love ❤️ this game!!
