If you're using the right bait and fishing right spots at the right time then it really is just RNG with little boosts from brews and such unfortunately.

About the only thing I can suggest that has helped me is to go work on something else for a while so that you don't burn out just fishing. Its not much though, sorry

Shortly before the 2nd month of playing I’ve caught all starred bugs and fish except the ancient! I struggled big time. I stopped for a month trying to fish it. I just leveled up other skills, deco and did weeklys. Then exactly on the 3rd month, my first cast and first catch was the ancient fish! Was really emotional when I’ve almost given up. So, really RNG.

Sure, Ancient chests look pretty, but after my 40th one id like to maybe store things in it? Sell it? I dunno they bother me.

U can use them as decor. I use them to put tanks on and decor in my garden esp those with leaves. The pretty chests are in my bug room and bedroom. Tish likes chests, so you can gift them too

Yea it bothers me too. I ham using all my many chests as decor on my block (I heard you can give them as gifts to some as well), but the furniture, we NEED to be able to sell this !! It would be a good way to make money as well in the game. I think selling your furniture would be a really beneficial upgrade

I don't personally use them, but basically there's a cap on how many weeds there can be, so you let all the weeds grow on crops you don't care about so you can afk farm the rest

It's a fairly massive plot. The weed plot is hidden way up top, barred beneath tons of stuff to hide the weeds.

If they were actually there to visit the plot, I'd expect them to say something chat - though, not everyone does - and for me to at least bump into them while they are running around looking at everything.

To get better tools, you need to level up the skill you use the tools with (so for example, for bow and arrow you need to go hunting). When you level up, there is one person who is the "expert" of this skill. When you go to that person, you can open the store and buy recipes for upgrades. When you bought a recipe, you can craft it at the work station, then you have a better tool.
The people are:
Fishing - Einar (Fishing rod)
Hunting - Hassian (Bow and arrow)
Mining - Hodari (Pickax)
Bug Catching - Auni (Belt and bag)
Foraging - Ashura (Ax)
Cooking - Reth (He doesn't have tools though)

how does speedygro fertilizer work exactly? I noticed something today that made me think its not working as intended or as how I understand it

I synced all my crops to grow at the same time and fertilized every soil with speedygro except near the apple tree and blueberries, since they both boost growth and I didn't think speedy gro would affect them

But then I replanted my blueberries (growth boost) and spicy peppers (quality boost) in the opposite patches without thinking and yet all my potatoes grew at the same time, even the ones I planted near the spicy peppers without speedygro fert

from what i understand: for every 2 days of normal growth, you get an extra day of bonus growth. in this case i'm guessing it already got the boost day the day before. HOWEVER, i've also read that it's bugged and doesn't seem to track properly offline, i.e. you need to be online for 2 consecutive ticks to get the bonus day of growth to trigger

Just this week I've found at least one star starstone of every type - except a starred emerald, my white whale - and multiples of all others including rubies this week. It's all RNG and sometimes it's in a generous mood, sometimes not. Can be very frustrating.

That was the last bug I needed to complete my Master Bug accomplishment so I know what you're going through! I finally found it a few weeks ago. I had to dedicate time just to look for it and ran around the farm with a buzzy jar soooo many times. Not sure how many days it took and Buzzy Jars used, but I eventually snagged one. The star Raspberry Beetle was soooo much harder to catch than any of the epic star bugs for me. Keep at it, you'll get it! The only suggestion I can offer to help is to clear out a bunch of the common beetles first, wait a few minutes, and then pop the Buzzy Jar. By doing so you're opening up space for Rasp Beetle to spawn.
