#💬│palia-discussions
1 messages · Page 85 of 1
That's what these discussions are for, right? To inform people of things they might not be aware of. I agree that if it's preventing people from progressing that it absolutely should be fixed
absolutely, people need to know, so it CAN be a discussion, so things CAN change
"All I see is you complaining they didn't fix YOUR issue or add the feature YOU want."
the achievement bug has many types, for some it is infact only visual for some it may be a full reset.
That's a different topic, though. I was just stating that they fix bugs and add features all the time, so complaining that the one bug fix or the one feature YOU want didn't get added isn't a productive conversation
at this point i would not be surprised if they had to reset everyone's achievements when they finally get around to fixing the bug
i’d like to know kw what bugs been fixed cuz half the time idk a bug exists until after its been fished, like with the sushi recipe not dropping i guess that happened at some point lol
If it’s a bug we’ve all been hearing about for 4+ months and discussing almost daily, i’m sorry but the frustration and disappointment is completely warranted
Which isn't the point I was making
yeah, i get where youre coming from, but most people arent doing that.
That is OUR bug that you think is complaining.
What’s bad about that one is no one acknowledged it so some people were spending thousands of glow worms in hopes that it was just bad RNG lol
This Discord continues to be awesome.
Wait, sushi doesn't drop right now?
Pointing out a bug that is affecting a large amount of people is completely different from that one bug that you noticed that one time and you are demanding they fix. That's the point I was making, and your arugment is valid. It's just aimed at the wrong person
If the devs don't want to hear about us "complaining" about the same bug every day, there is a simple fix.
i know. Its so frutrating to see. I read the most recent update and they put AT THE END that you "might not be able to multicraft". I tried earlier to multicraft all my resources that i had for arrowheads. Guess what happened to me. 🙄
see but you said that to me.... and i absolutely wasnt doing that.
Then I said I wasn't saying that about YOU directly, but an individual that is doing that
A word is coming to mind. Rhymes with nasfighting.
then thats just out of left field?
That's the best field

It's ok, though. Multicrafting works on Switch, which is a 1:1 copy of the PC version...
hey lets still be civil, this is the palia discord, we cant just be mean because we dont agree or someone is difficult
dealt with him in the steam accessability discussion. just block him.
nah im not being civil with someone who came into an accessability discussion and was ablesist and refused to listen to anyone.
Except I was agreeing with what you were saying, you just kept arguing with me
Oh, is this THAT person? Yeah, forget him.
he compared us wanting accessabilty options to a peanut allergy and saying that person demand that the resturant get rid of all their peanuts and wipe everything down for them, and straight up called us entitled for wanting the most basic accessability options.
i will NOT be civil towards someone like that at all.
Still making stuff up, I see
oh nice i got warned. if someone is watching, then deal with the abelist right here.
Writer wasn't the only person in the discussion. You love gaslighting.
yeah thats no bueno.
I can quote my posts from Steam if you want
Of course. This Discord is ridiculous. The mods do nothing and expect everyone to take BS from people like this. Reason I blocked the mods.
Oh god, THAT'S the steam discussion person??
it rly isnt yet in this discord most of the time some of the mods dont do their job at all
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing here. Please refrain from discussing issues outside of Palia / this server. If you have further concerns, please feel frre to DM @daring cosmos.

we always go off topic cause there is hardly too much to talk about in general about palia these days except about flow wood n stuff. besides were allowed to talk about the steam stuff CAUSE palia will be going on steam. im not backing down for the sake of coziness when there is rampant abelism going on in here and almost nothing is done about it
Nah it's about Palia. Palia is gonna be on Steam and has Steam discussion forums. This doesn't get to be kicked to the side for coziness sake.
Oh, was there a helpful comment? Was pizza involved?
ive never used modmail but if i use it i expect actual actions to be taken and not be told to continue fostering a cozy enviorment

Oh that's good to know! I'd also like to say as always, discuss the idea not each other. Unfortunately, we don't have much control over what happens outside of this server.
It is Palia Discord, though. Just have to lower your expectations.
Amazingly no pizza. But I definitely remember those steam discussion posts lol. I was pretty disgusted and left thinking "yep, that's steam discussions for you"
Oh you changed your name and joined the discord again
Welcome back if you press this hidden message
Except I was agreeing that accessablility options should be added, but the angry people always blow everything out of proportion. And they can't prove otherwise
sometimes you cant avoid discussing others when abelism and people harassing you for wanting accessability options happens. defending one self is all you can think of in that moment.
Do blocks stay in force if you leave a server? Huh never thought about that. Not that I block people
As Kenli would say, this is killing the vibe (cozy or not). If you know you won't be heard then why keep going on? Move on. Nothing is changing right now.
When the line for banning is somewhere between a homophobic slur and a racial slur, little is to be expected.
and let the abelist keep talking? no. palia says its inclusive and having people like that in here is the complete opposite of cozy and fostering said cozy vibe and atmosphere entirely.
"if video games give you seizures, maybe you shouldn't play video games" when people are discussing wanting things like options such as lessening that happening (amongst other options)
Yep, totally agreeing
Sounds like good advice to me
Man I guess I really missed something in here today huh
okay dude, clearly you're just a troll
You gonna call us insecure babies here too?
Yeah im still blocked by them
Even though we never had a conversation
either something is done about them or the enviorment is going to always be walking on egg shells
Is there a rule against trolling and ableism? If so, can that rule please be enforced here?
Oh! I learned something new today. Thanks pal!
They also claim to be accessible and that they fix bugs and who knows how many other lies.
We're going to get slow-downs if this keeps up.
Arbitrary enforcement of rules is a hallmark of this Discord.
with how palia advertises itself as inclusive and most likely against abelist and such, i HOPE there is a rule. but most of the times the mods copypaste the same "please be kind" message or pizza gifs in response and it takes someone else to actually do their job
and as well i dont know how to use modmail to be honest
Look, the uwu can't we all just get along routine has not ever truly helped in situations like this

is it a command or just an @ to use modmail
You DM the mod mail account and it gives you options like which server you want to report on and such
The modmail account is at the top of all accounts listed on this servers member roster
alrighty. tyvm
I know. You're right. But sad. It's either ban folks having a bad moment or everyone takes a hit. Anger maybe justified, but it doesn't necessarily help.
sure, but if theres no action taken against those trolling or being ableist etc. Whats the point? Its no longer a safe community either way.
"Be quiet, you're making me uncomfortable" Stay awesome Discord.
"bad moment" I
Yknow someone else can take this, I need coffee
if you dont want outraged players and discord members, ban those purposefully inciting that outrage via trolling or being hateful towards others
some people are just awful, bad day or not. thats just how some people are full stop
i expected another rumble but not facing the steam discussion dude at all today
S6, enabling ableism and bigotry on the daily.

on a cuter note, the birds outside are very vocal today
Can those birds yell at the cold here to go away
im hoping theyre doing the same here
That's an absolute lie. I never said people were entitled for wanting accessability options. Not that it matters any more because you've all blocked me anyway.
I really wish there was a channel in the Nintendo app where we can type to the switch. It is so frustrating to type in the chat 😭
You can use a bluetooth keyboard, or using handheld tap on the screen.
Switch needs quickchat options at least. It's a pain in the butt for people.
I play it docked so taping on the screen isn't going to work. I just wish I could use my phone and not have to use extra items (i.e. keyboard)
But yes quick chat would be so helpful!
I think the switch is just missing a lot of quality components like how you’ll get stuck lagging out crashing etc that being said I only play on the switch since my pc is broke LMAO it’s not that bad and I still find it fun and enjoyable just have to be careful when loading in
I def have framerate issues. Weirdly, I've frozen at least twice running into Tamala's house. Witchcraft defense or coincidence?
I cannot enter tamalas at all everytime I crash or freeze or fall through the map so I have to talk to her outside her house when she goes on her walk 💀
I'm so glad to learn it's not just me!
Haha. Both. I froze once in her house and once just before I got to the door. I barely know her and she already doesn’t like me. Must have some spell to keep out humans.
Does it matter who we choose for our shep? I picked whoever I had the most friendship with... Does it affect gameplay in any way?
I don’t think it affects anything nothing that I found at least
Oh okay. Good
The only thing it's affected was like, one line in the winterlight quest. Other than that, nada
Yeah, Zeki hasn't mentioned being my shepp since the ceremony.
Is it bad that I prefer the arguing that happened here earlier than whatever the hell's going on in general
After today's chaos, I am thinking of reascending, disappearing again. Back in another 1,000 years. Maybe by then Kilima Village will have coffee.
Always a good idea tbh
general is an enigma as always
Look how they massaced my boy.. it used to be 8000
That gave me an extra large shot of depresso
I sold mine
yeah, they do stuff like this and nerf instead of actually implementing something new
I'd mined a bunch but hadn't sold them yet cause I had to go offline for something
then it got nerfed
Mining gemstones and palium in the patch before the last change was some of the most cozy fun I'd had in a while in the game LOL

I only tried it after the patch, gave up after an hour of mining lol
same. but ofc they had to ruin it for the sake of trying to push everyone towards the actual uncozy stuff in game
the only other cozy thing in game is decorating your house but even that gets frusterating
I like decorating I just wish they would turn off clipping let me clip anything cause I want to merge some shelves but I can’t 😭
OH I need to check what new furniture they added in ffxiv today, thanks for the reminder about decorating in general LOL
ah the good old days, though they were limited they were the best
a brief, fleeting moment...
same. i want to clip like you can in wizard101. gimme clipping glitches so i can make stairways to the heavens 🙏
ngl even in FFXIV I use furniture glitches everywhere (most of em you can do vanilla and the devs don't care as long as you're not using plugins, they actually once reverted a change that made it harder to glitch stuff) to make things look pretty and even more cozy
clutter and overlaps are soooo important to me in decorating, gimme that true lived in feel
wizard101 embraced their furniture and carpet glitch lmao. even when they added a way to make decorating easier, they kept the glitched way in cause people loved it so much and theyve been using it to make amazing homes for many years
i may not entirely like wizard101 but they are absolute GOATS for that
An unlikely game that handles this super well is... Satisfactory
They have rules for soft and hard collision boxes. They let you clip anything into a box that has soft collision, the game just warns you that it might look weird. Hard collision is exactly what it sounds like, but they only use that in a select few cases
It's also a UE game. Perfect to take inspiration from
Yeah LOL. Like I mentioned, in FFXIV...I can't remember what the change was, but people were like "BUT THIS MESSES UP OUR HOUSING GLITCH" and the devs were like "o okay we hear you" and took away whatever 'fix' it was because it did more harm than good
people go hard in ffxiv housing
i have yet to see it but then again i dont play FFXIV (forgetting login details stinks). honestly any games with housing, you bet there will be people who go absolute bonkers on it and make masterpieces
they do i love it i would do something, then (cuz i wasn’t good at glitching when i could afford the house) so my sis would come in with something she had, tho i guess sit was a plug-in/addon, and would just put stuff where i wanted, now i got an apartment and i gotta do all that myself
yeah tbh don't tell yoshi P but that plugin makes the furniture glitching SOOO much easier LOL. like you can do most of it manually but it can take a while and be really finnicky until you get the hang of it
yea she was all don’t say i helped you with it because i know not to say it xD my first time decorating with glitches i was super proud and she like slides in “i can make it better” and i was so spoiled
i want that ability but like in palia lol
i dont play FFXIV cause of the whole addon and plugin thing... hearing how those are outright banned and using them will get you banned is... hmm...
yea i’m scared to use any but i’ve only heard “if your not caught” so it’s more to streamers and you don’t say what it’s called or where you got it
Yeah tbh, even though it is all blanket banned, I've never heard of anyone getting bonked unless they were flaunting it
but i’m wanting that kinda freedom /color changing that ffxiv with palia, like let me make dyes for furniture
I went 8 years happily without using a single plugin regardless and I just use a few now for QoL and high res textures, the latter of which I wont need to use come Dawntrail since there's gonna be a graphics update, and they keep adding QoL to the game
they've even recently added some QoL based on mods, they're aware of some of the more popular ones, why people are using them, and keep that in mind for some of their additions, they even said as much
that reminds me i gotta update the game today :v
YoshiP has basically said "yes, they're banned, but if you keep quiet about it, there's not much we can do anyways"
i wish there were video games except minecraft that were just totally chill w modding. the only other thing i can think of is stardew valley
I don't like the graphics on SDV or I think I'd love it
Factorio would like a word with you
The base game is basically running as a mod in the engine. You can even disable it, which completely breaks it of course lol
yessss new patch
playing it right now
same. i used a pallet mod thingy to mute the colors cause the yellow dirt is just not it in SDV lol. but i adore pixel art. but really bright colors mess with my eyes so much
oh god same LMAO I play with a different tileset too to make the colors less super saturated
ohhh i forgot ab factorio. i need to suck it up n buy that game im sure i'd love it. ppl say what i do w minecraft mods is just making it into factorio LOL
the visual mods for sdv r lovely also waterbot >> it does all the watering for u but it takes up the same energy/time to take the pressure off ur wrist which is just. so nice
i play with the cheat mod and make it so i dont run out of energy cause im horrible with energy management in games
If you like the Mekanism/Industrialcraft/Immersive Engineering kind of minecraft, you'll probably like Factorio as well
One thing to know is that it will never be on sale and the price is only going up as they adjust it for inflation. So the best time to buy is... whenever you are able to buy it
ope thats good 2 know absolutely. i try my best to not buy games until i'm ready to play them but i'll break my rule for that soon then 😭
I mean you can try the free demo 👀 It's actually quite good!
There is also a huge expansion coming sometime this year, probably towards the end. So it's a good time to get familiar with the mechanics if you are interested
ur repping factorio as hard as @warm python reps ffxiv and i appreciate it i will try the demo out soon 💪🥰
FINALLY an update
Vague as hell, but I'll take it
Oh right, the emojis are probably signifying that it's the lunar new year of the dragon so maybe they're working on some special event for that.
I mean it's literally the best game with the best support haha! Once you start reading the FFFs (Friday Factorio Facts), you'll never look at dev blogs the same way
Datamine spoilers ||There's gonna be a festival||
finally, we have an official s6 update
Not sure what the eye and the hut mean though
Yes, they previously mentioned this event would be coming at the start of 2024. Here is the article: https://www.ign.com/articles/singularity-6-teases-palias-first-in-game-event-of-2024-alongside-nintendo-switch-launch
||the new festival better not be as expensive as the maji market or im gonna be upset. might actually need to force myself to join some cake parties for it CAUSE i was some stuff from an event this time||
||as of now most items are only obtainable through the currency we can earn at the event ||
i will get the money for those things or have panic attacks trying
more spoilers ||I think it's using its own currency afaik but as for how much of said currency we'll have to earn, I hope it's not a massive grind||
why do i keep failing if i click at top and bottom with this recipe?
some people guessed that the eye might be the eye of the storm bug being fixed lmfao
||real. im just hoping its something casuals can get into and not sweaties like the maji market was... and the way of obtaining said currency isnt head banging frusterating. and possibly making some cry||
i feel like the game became so buggy since last time i played. unless im missing something
its bugged rn. they may fix it whenever the next patch comes out but /shrug really
dang alright thanks for letting me know
usually exiting out of the rolling interface and reentering fixes it
my favorite hilarious bug right now is when you fish and your reticle is totally invisible so you have to guess where the fish is going to go.
it happened with like 3 different rolling sessions tho. i need a star recipe quality for a quest, but i guess its not going to happen lol
You can also go into the H menu, then exit it, and that should fix it without too much interruption
They're introducing pizza, but it's only purchasable at Dragonhut as a money sink. Also the blue people are happy about this.
weird, none of these bugs were in the game last time i played @coarse abyss ty ill try
im confused what r u talking about my friend
I think they're memeing.
Just woke up, saw emojis. Made an educated guess. I want Dragonhut pizza. Pizza in general now... great, thanks S6, now I'm hungry.
pizza does sound good rn tbh
im so hungry ; -- ; lets order pizza is papa john's okay?
I mean...
👁️ 🛖
Or keep an eye out at the market location (the "hut")?
I'm definitely glad we got something but I will always lol a bit at announcements of announcements as I do every time any company does it LOL
sadness that the patch won't be until next week minimum tho if we're not getting the actual info on when it'll be until later this week
we gotta support our dominos tho. kings are repairing roads that the government hasnt done in ages in some areas
will u go in on it with us :3
Pizza is always good. Lately I've been making pizza at home with garlic na'an bread and those thick-cut pepperoni slices.
"We apologize for the radio silence so here is some vague static instead." But I mean at least they're trying right?
all cards on the table im having a terrible chronic pain day and need to get up to get lunch but blegoughoughgoough so lets order pizza :]
tbh they just had to make that statement from the beginning and all the drama wouldnt have happened lmao
I play silent hill games, radio static and video games give me a Concern--
Whew a real... Kinda... Update...
I would be super happy if they would just fix all the bugs.. there so many..
yeah if they had said this before no one wouldve questioned it. was there really sm chaos u cant send a message?
This thisity this this. It's why I haven't bothered logging in for over a month now.
Chaos like... Mass lay off chaos?
I'm just mad curious on how crazy things are behind the scenes that this message took so long
with how much of a buggy mess the game is rn, most likely and layoffs n other stuff. i really wonder how bad things at s6 are rn
oh to be a fly on the wall
So, S6, when are we going to get our silverwing nests? "S6: kicks Nest under the rug What silverwing nests? :)"
like I'm def grateful we got something finally but I can't help but be super curious as to what was so hectic
At worst, mass layoffs
At least, probably some internal restructuring so that communication between teams is better, one hopes
one day I log in and can plant my garden, next day I can't it is getting super frustrating..
Given the glassdoor reviews, we can only hope this is the case
I see your miqo there
Gotta love my boy (he's a bunny now but still gotta love him)
I can comment on the CM side a bit
Which is probably doing the job of like 6 people with only two. Even we didn't bother them too much, as their workload must be quite high
I mean they're not begging us for more money so that has to be a good thing at least 😄
Oh yeah I do not envy the CMs right now, to have to go from four to two when the fire kept spreading cannot be easy at all.
They tell me I was right all along. Management getting in the way of talent and not just letting people do their job if the reviews are to be believed.
We already know the CMs get shafted on team communication
Story of most software development tbh
Yeah. And with S6 being a relatively small company, they are likely doing things that CMs generally aren't responsible for
Honestly Management/Suits pissing off devs is every video game ever.
At the same time though, looking at Glassdoor the reviews seemed to be split right down the middle
So real
not in recent history like there r no Newer reviews tht r 5 stars, there r older ones
Same with factory work as well. Too much micromanagement and focus on small failures while major failures on the management side are brushed under the rug.
have you sorted by date?
the layoffs were 10% of the workforce, which is in line with a lot of tech and IT at the moment
Not since the layoff
i dont wanna make an account just for glassdoor but im assuming most recent reviews are really bad looking for s6 rn
which funny enough is in line with what the recent reviews say; s6 was selling the dream and is having trouble keeping up
I should sort by date, though I do seem to remember a couple of positive reviews since?
just what you can skim without making an account tells you enough
if u want i can send u screenshots-- i understand if u dont care enough tho lol
Selling the dream and not keeping up could be the games tag line
A lot of the cons in the pros/cons of working at s6 are similar
because there is definitely a point in times where the reviews went from okay to all bad. the only good reviews I see are from 2021-2022, with one exception of a 4* one in august. past 2022 it's all been bad
just scrolled through 'em to check
Sounds like the IT field in general needs to unionize. Would be nice to see happen.
It's a telling story lol I've worked in environments exactly like that and it's so hard to get things done 😣
even counting the earlier positive reviews pre-2023 though it's far from 50/50
Well, hopefully they find their footing again tbh
If we're being realistic though, making an MMO in this day and age is a very difficult endeavor. S6 probably wanted to pitch more than they had the resources/manpower for to build up a playerbase and is doing their best to try and deliver with what they have.
Must be hard when the climbing is so buggy /j
Hoping for the best. With the state of the industry as is I'm extra skeptical though. It may not be a rare story but it doesn't make it good to see regardless
🫡
It would be nice to see Palia succeed and not just be another failed attempt to make something good.
as I usually say, I may be pessimistic and grumpy but I do wanna see this game do well and succeed
glassdoor i dont want to make an account leave me ALONE. i hate sites that do this omg
We'd all love that
Untill then I'm waiting for the riot mmo to be my best big disappointment
for or against?
glassdoor is the effing worst with that omg. I can't even log into the damn thing on my computer browser even with an account, I gotta use my phone
If I've learned anything, being a AAA company doesn't matter much in quality anymore.
is there an extension that blocks it?
Look at New World. Made by a trillion-dollar corporation. Complete garbage the first couple years it was out.
also true
nm it is closer to 50/50, my browser was being bad. 10 bad reviews to 9 good ones (one of those being with some big caveats). but I believe 7 of those good ones were from earlier on, only 2 of those from 2023, every other from 2023 has been bad
the most recent 4 reviews:
jan 9, jan 3 (2024) and dec 29 (2023) are all negative, jan 9 is 2 stars the others are 1, and dec 21 (2023) is positive w 5 stars
god I hate this website on my phone lol
Apparently New World's actually improved quite a bit since then, though
OMG U CAN LOOK AT THE TREND ill geab a screenie
📉
here we are :]
Another thing, I've learned to trust reviews less and less on the internet. You can never tell a person's intentions on the internet. There are review bots, people who review bomb for whatever reason without having any real experience with a game/product, people who are paid to review products/services, etc.
the glassdoor website does annoy me though. I've made so many fake accounts because they make you sign up for it to look at almost any data
Owch that chart
Absolutely. but when you have several reviews all giving a commonality it's something to think about
NO BC IT DOES LOOK LIKE THAT GRAPH LMAOO STOPPP
At my old company they gave people a day off if they wrote a nice review. (yeah super illegal) Not that you’d get to enjoy that day off your slack is still going off all day like crazy haha
You ever think it's because they're not making games people want to play anymore, but instead a bunch of suits know better than the people who buy the games what people really want? Which obviously means all the industry standard methods to drain wallets and barely above cookie cutter game design?
Literally the same picture omg
I agree with you. I'm just saying to take peoples' opinons on the internet with a grain of salt.
Welcome to my life
Nothing in the reviews surprise me as someone in the industry....
the same can be said for both positive and negative reviews tho 🤷🏻♀️ it'd be a big (and rly weird) smear campaign to make s6 look bad for all the reviews to be fake (and for it to start out good and trend downwards over time?) idk
They don't say anything shocking and describe the other end of the experience we are seeing with the game so accurately I believe them completely
I think it's just healthy to be skeptical of what others may think about something. At the end of the day, your experience is the only one that matters.
did they ever get like reported or anything????????
I'M SORRY I HAD TO
Lmaaaao
i simply dont think that's true like if a company has bad working conditions or is like breaking laws by making people work too long hours or is racist or something i rly do care about that and want to know so i dont give money to people i think r unethical
NOT THAT IM SAYING S6 IS THAT BAD just as an example of things that i rly care about and would want to monitor for
gd it new ffxiv patch, last big patch of the expansion, and here I am memeing 💀
Hello I have a question, I would get items in the game and when I put the item in the chest and come back to it would be gone, and I can't find the items. I know I had the items Because I have the quest for the items. What can I do?
woooaaah the update was actually posted... NO WAY
Geez ._. I didn't say naything about the company's conditions I was just talking about consumers. By all means if a company enacts shady practices they need to be called out lol
s6 is bad from what the reviews are saying. like wow. how bad at managing do you gotta be for these reviews to come out
no im not saying u did say that i just think the sentiment that my experience is the only one that matters isnt right exactly
Not that I’ve seen they still seem to do it to this day. You can always tell the fake ones they sound like they were written under duress haha
Not to get into a discussion about law and politics, but companies have been skirting labor laws and enacting unfair practices for years; ESPECIALLY in tech where most politicians aren't too savvy.
bro who is the manager at s6? we need to have a few words and for you to stop hiding like a coward
My old job discouraged us from taking PTO and turned around and enacted a policy where we could burn our PTO while we were working to get paid extra at work instead of having the day off xD
that manager is going to destroy this company and the game, and have no one to blame but themselves when everything implodes. these glassdoor reviews are really telling
better thant the 'use it or lose it' policy and then guilting you into not using it so you loose 6 weeks of PTO every year because 'there wasn't a good time to take it'
My current job has the use it or lose it policy but I now I'm wise enough to use my PTO whenever I can now. Plus it's full time WFH so every day feels like a vacation 🙂
All the PTO options suck right now just work till ya ded then work a little more
To be fair a good number of us probably play MMO's like this because we've been conditioned to think that we need to be productive at all times instead of doing nothing. That rise and grind mindset.
im so fing curious now what company this was... also i like just watched the frasier episode ur pfp is from
Finally they're back
cant wait for steam version
It was a big one
REALLY????
I'm honestly not surprised at all lol
Yeah dude it’s all the way to the top ya know
i mean i shouldnt be surprised but like im so surprised they're not getting caught at all. ill punch [censored] in the [censored] for u. but man wow
The thing about multi-billion/trillion dollar companies is that they know to hire the best lawyers and do anything in their power to keep turning a profit.
Honestly even if they do get caught, it's just a fine
Which is a drop in the bucket compared to how much they have/earn
So I doubt they're actually scared about getting caught too
it just seems stupid illegal for them. like tax evasion blah blah blah i get that but it's just some level of... wow u rly dont think that'll get u in trouble eventually? just seems rly amazingly dumb idk
the stupid tiny amount big companies get fined for doing poopy things (gd automod) drives me nuts
a lot of them see those fines as cost of doing business. The fines aren't punitive enough
"If the penalty for breaking a law is a fine, then that law only exists for the lower class." - Final Fantasy Tactics.
also like petty illegal not like ginormous conspiracy illegal that i expect from that company. like they rly need people to fake their reviews? 😭😭
The cost of doing business for them honestly
It's like how certain companies have delivery vans and the like that will happily eat up the cost of parking fines from double parking/parking in places they shouldn't/etc because it's a drop in the bucket if even
I can't imagine what company that will be.
Guess I better check the rolodex from A --> Z
"Oh no! We got fined $100 million dollars! Time to fire 10% of our workforce that had nothing to do with this." 😄
my obsession with minecraft now makes sense
tbf though minecraft is pretty sweet. Can't wait to boot it up and play with my daughter once she's old enough 🙂
i am currently playing all the mods 8 on java...so much to do and i love the mine colonies aspect lol also same, my daughter is 2 and i can't wait for her to play with me
12% and the CEO gets a bigger bonus. ✨✨Cost-saving measures! ✨✨
Fun fact: that line's actually not from Final Fantasy Tactics, it's a fan edit. It fits the game's theme, though
i think if we have to replace anyone with AI, all ceos should be replaced by AI there i said it. like no one else just ceos
At the end of the day, doomed game/world or not, look around and see all the people and things that really matter to you and keep them close. I try to remind myself every day how lucky I am. Palia might very well not be here in 5 years, maybe it'll be the biggest MMO in history. What matters most is the here and now.
This is why I bought a chapaa plushie.
mom i'm scared
you know what is crazy? labor laws do not apply for contract workers and healthcare workers. coders can be contract workers and then forego overtime and meals. i worked in healthcare for a time and worked a 96 hour sjift, got 24 hours off, and worked a 48 hour shift with no meal break. they just opted to pay me the 'meal premium' and 'interupted sleep break premium' rather than give me an actual break.
'Do you have games on you phone ?'
I’m Nature man dear don’t run from me
I missed out on those, and I do sort of hope they do another Makeship campaign
@dense ermine Makeship must be getting really big. Runescape is doing some dragon plushies through them as well soon and I'm definitely considering it.
Makeship seems cool. They offer flat rate shipping, no matter where you are, which was extremely cool to see. Shipping to the EU from the US by other means would probably have costed as much as the plushy lol
I started playing Minecraft with my son when he was young. Then my daughter. Now she's amazing on it, crazy fast builder. It's been so much fun playing with my kids and their friends. Ups and downs for sure. Realms got messy for awhile. But I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. We are a gaming family.
Big kudos for what you do. I know a few nurses and I know they get treated like dirt 😦 it makes me sad to think that we don't take care of the people who take care of us.
welcome back
i wish i had got a plushie
for a little bit on realms every time you got off a boat it disappeared and when they fixed the bug there were 100 boats all over the world
That's actually pretty funny. I imagine peoples' GPU's weren't happy about it though
my pc runs pretty strong but i imagine it was the source of lag for some other players lol
So next patch will be Lunar New year event thing. Since year of the Dragon is 2024 right ? Hope we get the Earth temple too
oh that’s so thematically relevant! i wonder if we’ll see more of maji
Earth temple would be pretty neat but given that they're still fixing the air temple I doubt it'll be anytime soon >_<
What's wrong with it ? It was buggy first few days. But then it was fixed wasn't it ? Cause i speed ran it on the alt acc on the switch, for like 40 mins and didn't encounter any of the issues i got at day 1 on my main
Could be fixed. I might be wrong but I thought a few other people here were talking about the air temple still having issues.
i think we will likely see a new temple late february or at least by mid march given their past timeline but we will see.
Idk, cause day one it was a buggy mess for sure. Took me 4h to 100% it.. But then around 20-22nd, i was fine from my experince atleast. Managed to complete the quest and 100% in like 40m
Haven't played since that day too, cause i even went overboard and collected all hidden chests around map and there was nothing left for me (except quests on alt)
many people are stuck with zeki's questline. So cant finish the temple
ty Annelora. That's very strange. I know the bundle reward is bugged too.
friend of mine cant find zeki as the location where he sepose to be. So therefore cant go forward with the quest to last island
If you fly to the last island, instead of waiting to unlock it, it will ruin the questline. It's like breaking the game.
myself never got the rewwards for finishing it
At least we got the cool bugged furniture and free SR furniture the day air temple came out 😄
Did they never hotfix the last patch? I haven’t kept up with things…
the best bug because zeki coins are sooooo expensive
Lots of games have that happen, where you accidentally access areas that are initially off limits and it breaks a quest. Mario Wonder made it a feature of one section and the little flowers are like "What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here? There's an order you're supposed to follow!"
I'm so glad S6 doesn't do rollbacks the way other MMO's do.
i probably would have left and not come back because 1) it was their mistake. 2)their game is so bugged that this was like a compensation bug and 3)their in game business model is no fun, things like zeki coins are too expensive to even be able to get all the furniture in a year unless that is all you are buying and 10k coins for seeds is disheartening. so i am glad they let me keep the SR furniture
Same here! I'm at the point where I have all the furniture and plushies I want and don't really care about "completing" all the sets.
To be honest I think op starstones should have stayed in the game because getting gold is annoying when there's a 300k cap and the only other decent meta is cooking parties which is boring or uncomfortable for solo players.
I think I need to up my passive gaming strategy to start saving some dosh for event souvenirs! Even though I have all of the farming plots, one preserves jar isn't going to cut it . . . Can I get a job in town? While Ashura is away?
@heavy flare Daily tasks like "gather x heartwood for Ashura" would be a really nice way for players to earn some extra income.
I got like 6-10 barrels for making jars. Forgot how many i left to actually cook, cause i had 12 and then removed some. But im max gold and they were just stacking produce to be sold in the future :D. Also haven't played in almost a month now
That would be cool.
I keep 4 going, was gonna make more when I get more crafting licenses.
I've heard that's a good strategy. Time to buy more permits.
I also have/had a self sustaining garden, that i just had to go and harvest/replant every few days carrots, onions, tomato and potato. Then everything into jar making
It's nice there is a way for those of us who can't play all the time. Praying to the Dragon and Phoenix, it won't be nerfed.
Yeah that’s what I do, too. I’m reorganizing it rn to make more blueberries and fewer peppers , this round though.
I doubt they'll ever nerf gardening if cake parties are still a thing
I have two very pretty apple trees and all the other crops. That's my relaxing way to start my play sessions. Then cook, etc.
End my days in Bahari Bay to wait for the FT Grove at midnight.
It's a good life. Until we get our "memories" back.
Ah, that’s nice! I still have to get more guild coins for my apple seeds .
You can get two from (two different) quests. That's how I got mine.
It's from ||naio and zeki friendship 3||
definitely. I've got 8-10 running right now. During the work week when I know I won't touch the game for nearly a full irl day I will fill each jam maker with about 20 or so things I can preserve so its all good and finished while I am away, that first 6AM/PM pick up of the day is always a nice boost to the wallet
Ooh!! That’s awesome!!
Ooh, thanks, I’ll have to work on friending them
Great idea! I will start getting permits and making the jars ASAP. Ya gotta spend money to make money!
I want to be more like Chayne/Einar/Ashura, but the world is made for the Zeki's and Eshe's.
never give up!! we need more chayne/einar/ashuras in the world ❤️
idk some sorta shrine ig
if this is what i think it is, in the flooded fortress, it is a secret quest
Look like the one behind the leaves in the cave
yeah, hard to tell for sure though
didn't the one you mentioned have those things that light up that u gotta find around it, its been half a year since i done those so i forgot tbh
yep!
I got one from zeki's lucky box, less reliable obviously.
is anyone having issues visiting people right now?
are animals teleporting way more often or is it just me? istg trying to hunt sernuk and theyre teleporting EVERYWHERE
idk how ppl can hunt for the rare mobs with how much they teleport around
i'm seeing a lot of people say this, so there's definitely something going on!!
and now i had a bug teleporting and sliding on the ground... why is palia's code so janky omg
you were sliding on the ground?
no like a bug, bug. one of the bugs you get from mining rocks. the millipedes
oh im sorry lmao. i thought you meant that you were glitching through the ground and sliding around
Definitely. I'm saving zeki coins for a group of lucky boxes 😁😁 cool to know they can cover from that, though 😁
Yeah that happened to me today with a scintillating millipede 😅
Yeah, I slid right off the mf map yesterday trying to climb a cliff at what I didn't realize was the edge in kilima 😭
That happened to someone I knew a few times.
I have done this as well. Slid off my chair, across my plot, and into the void.
Ok, is it just me, or is character scale funky? I feel like when sitting or gliding, my character shrinks by about 20% at least. 🤔
Hmm, can't say I've noticed that, but once, when I was trying to Guage official differences between humans and majiri, I did try to see how my character's height compared (I thought they might be taker than humans, in general, aside from the children)
I didn't even realize how much I was sliding until my daughter and I were playing and she was using the TV display. To me, on my handheld screen, I looked all action-hero fine jump rolling and sprinting; and on her TV display, she sees my character skating across north Bahari Bay and levitating up the cliff to get to the grove call in time. We laughed so hard!
Tonight is Taco Tuesday, new Percy Jackson episode, then time to get cranking on permits and new preserve jars. We're expecting 6-12 inches of snow. So maybe tomorrow will be a snow day!
Anyone can throw in their thoughts:
Has anyone hunted an Azure Chapaa/Bluebristle Muujin/Proudhorned Sernuk and noticed if you were more likely to get star-quality meat from it than normal meat? Is it reasonable to assume they have a higher chance of dropping star-quality meat to compensate for them being harder to hunt than a normal one?
I still need some star-quality Muujin meat and I'm wondering if I'm more likely to get it from a Bluebristle or if I really should just be hunting all of them and praying...
I keep forgetting to check out the new Percy Jackson show aaaa. I was so excited then I got distracted
I feel like I get star quality meat from the magic animals, but considering how many arrows I go through hunting the invisible muujin, I don't know that it's really any better rate of return, especially if you don't have a bunch of people helping.
I need to actually remember to get some flow wood and not turn it into planks. I should try those "get a starred magic quarry trophy" Accomplishments
That sucks to hear, I tend to do all my hunting alone but I do know the Bluebristle Muujin is harder to hunt than the Azure Chapaa and Proudhorned Sernuk
I already did get 1 star-quality from just hunting the random Muujins I've found, was just hoping to see if I could get it faster from the Bluebristle
I don't know, but if it helps, I have a 1 to 6-10 ratio, depending on the animals, of star to non-star meat. I don't really hunt the special animals because I'm hunting by myself.
the blue muujin are ridiculous. hitting them with a magic arrow doesnt even stop them going invisible like it was said to in the patch notes
The difficulty with hunting Muujins when they were first released is why I stopped playing for a while, but I already got all my star-quality meat and I don't think I'm ever looking at a Bluebristle ever again 😵💫
the trick i used to get them is to be in a group and attack the tree they''re in
im not hunting them ever again. the muujin were poorly planned imo. theyre so hard to hunt and forcing it to be a group activity kinda sucks. yeah yeah community and all but there are solo players
For the sake of clarity, the ones that go invisible are the black and white ones (idk what they're actually called). Aren't the bluebristles the Tier 2? Or are those Banded?
Banded Muujin are the tier 2 ones
Bluebristle Muujins are the magic ones
Huh. They're not really... blue? then again, I never really get a good look at them before they cloak
they do have blue markings and when they disappear its a mix of blue and black
They definitely have blue on them
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Bluebristle_Muujin
Huh, yeah... just the teeniest bit of blue
i had that bug as well and managed it by swapping the type of minigame each time. so for example, i would do a cut item and then a rollling pin item and then a cut, etc.
i wouldn't' give up! it took me at least 4 tries to get it
I've got so many quests all over the place, and I'm still waiting for it to not be "today" so I can gift things to people... but it's been "today" for like 3 weeks now
Are you trying to give them weekly likes or random always liked gifts? Either you are giving something they don't like or it's a bug
Weekly - in that transitional period where I can start giving Loved gifts, but it seem so darn random. Been following Hekla around for three day/night cycles, trying to give her a darned acorn. Finally let me give it to her
On the subject of cooking... "Flip" was a terrible thing to figure out... press and hold, release on the dot... reminds me of the QTE's from Guardians of the Galaxy... "What do you want me to DO?"
yeah the whole weekly gifts is annoying. wish it worked like the gifting does in SDV. esp with how much of a grind it is
Dunno what SDV is, so I'll take your word for it. It's definitely... odd here for sure
Nah, it's grey half the time, some times it lights up after a conversation is over though
i'm glad you managed it!
Just got my first white proud horned sernuk (solo) tonight! And also hunted magic muujin with a group at the group! Good game night!
congratulations!
Time for celebration cake!
SDV is Stardew Valley
@dull sigil People also say "Things are in the last place you look." Well, of course they are. Once you find them, why would you keep looking?
It's no mean feat on Switch where everything keeps disappearing, even with dispel arrows.
i hope you get your celebration cake in order then 😄
Simply holding and operating a Switch is a major feat for me (also wear a size 23 ring)
I have been unable to visit since December, last update
How 'bout those Azure Choppa? Reminds me of those stupid 4-headed things from Journey to the Savage Planet.. the more you shoot 'em the more the divide, and run in opposite directions, screaming
The trick is to shoot one of the 4 with a dispel arrow. Whichever one you hit, the duplicates drop, and the real one is stunned
Has the bug been fixed for the wind temple where it says to meet Zeki at the main platform but he’s at the final platform instead and won’t engage in quest convo?
No
That makes me want to die inside
Wind Temple... that's the one with the Silverwing Eggs?
Here's some vague emoji hints so folks can speculate in the meantime: 🐉 🌚 👁️ 🛖
Dragon our Happy Eyes up in the morning and going in to the Office?
I have a feeling the emojis correspond to ||a new Lunar New Year event, more to do with Subira, and housing updates||, myself
Does anyone else have a problem with invisible storage chests on their housing plot?
Uh, pretty sure I can see all of mine... I keep having to move them around
i just upgraded to iron and i am missing one.
Just 3 more writs, and the whole lot is mine
I suppose I'm doing alright for just having started this 3 days ago.
wow. im just happy with my 3 room house....
lol I still only have one room in my house and I've been spending all my renown on focus bonus
Or was it 4? Either or, still pretty new to all this, but enjoying it Just not enjoying the slow-mo "seizures", but then, never really liked Discord.
@gritty socket Also entirely possible, but not redactable-redaction-worthy.
sorry, what do you mean by slow-mo "seizures"?
When you press "Enter" before the "Slowmode" timer is done and it "shakes" the text and textbox
ah okay. I have seizures so I wasn't sure if there was something that I was unaware of to watch for
Understood - have a close friend who is epileptic - has been for as long as I've known him (about 33 years). Nah, just a goofy effect here for those who either don't write novellas, or want to add on something or follow up, and not have a massive delay in the flow of information.
Is your order is served hard to do ?
It can be. You need to make 3 complex recipes (that will require you to have 2 of each of the cooking stations) and get them starred quality. If you can, ask in chat and see if you can get a hand with them, as group cooking means it gets done quicker, which may influence the chance of getting Star quality
I hate being forced to do something I dislike
Lorem ipsum dolorem and all that? 🙂
Yep, so not my level... I'm just a miner and lumberjack. Cooking and furnishing... I suffer
And by suffer, I mean, level 10 Mining, 9 Lumberjacking, and like 3 Cooking, 4 furnishing
cooking feels like the slowest to lvl tbh. but i find bug catching to be worse
I have to wonder... Why doesn't the Preserves Jar add to Cooking at all? They are end-game products at the moment, right?
And why don't the Worm Farms also add to Farming and Fishing ratings, when they give us Worms for Fishing in the first place, and Fertilizers for Farming... Even if miniscule, it would help for the leveling up in those areas many of us don't advance very well...
The Forges and Glass Furnaces should also add to Furniture Making, being that they make the resources for them strictly.
Most likely because you are not actively doing anyting. You put apples in a Preserves Jar and then go on leveling other things like hunting or mining. It would be too op
well we don’t actively do anything, the machines are doing it for you
And yet... not everybody enjoys doing all of the things. Difficult, bordering broken, activities, like Fishing and Bug Catching, and even sometimes Hunting... where things disappear in the blink of an eye, or take half your ammo and give nothing back...
I know some of you can say "skill issue", but the game is still broken in those regards...
Even cooking can get broken, where someone starts something and suddenly can't move or activate anything, because a line of code breaks, and requires you to use /unstuck in the chat.
I see your point but the solution to that is not to give people free points when machines are creating stuff for you. You dont get better at mining when a machine is making your ores to bars, you get better from actually mining.
The solution is to fix the bugs and improve the things that are not at its best state right now.
I said "The Forges and Glass Furnaces should also add to Furniture Making," not into Mining. Mining and Woodcutting about the only not-broken bits of coding the devs have done.
In my opinion, I think the completing the weeklies could give some kind of small xp boost in the skills. I also think a nice thing would be to add food that gives an xp boost for a little while. But it is hard to balance.
The devs, have a lot of work ahead of them at this rate, especially with them more focused on creating Assets instead of Bug Fixing the last few months...
When I was still very new (I'm still somewhat new), I had a hard time getting the hang of certain skills, cooking, fishing, still working on hunting the harder animals in Bahari Bay. There were some things that helped. With fishing it was buying the fisherman's brew for Einar. It greatly increases the reticle/circle with which to catch fish. With cooking, it was figuring out that everything listed at a table isn't everything you make, it's giving you choices which you can ignore. So I practiced the easy ones and worked my way up, bit by bit. With hunting, I got the slow arrows. With bug hunting, the sticky bombs and a much better bag (exquisite matter so much with bug hunting!). So it might be that better equipment would help. Maybe not. Playing on Switch is its own challenge. I hope you find a way to play in spite of the quirks and bugs. Little steps!
I've been playing the last few months, annnnnd still dislike Bug Hunting... Bugs are won't to disappear as soon as they TOUCH another texture, teleporting to another side of a cliff, or even falling through the world... Some bugs are so rare, even having the best of the best, your chances of SEEING them are nil. Even with following guides!
Fishing is annoying, compared to other games (even Fortnite which threw that in 5 years ago ON A WHIM), with how long it takes for a fish to snag a line, and you're never assured getting your particular catch, even hours later, using the right bait with max rank Fishing Rod... Some fish are only on the Line for 1/10th of a second when they jump up, and even when you click to pull the line, suddenly you're pulling in an empty line, no fish to pull in...
Hunting, while fun in general, and it's quite easy to go for, in fact it is all but trivialized on PC... with literal jumps-off-cliff 1080 twirls to draw and loose arrows on Sernuks... Like Bug Hunting, many animals(not-magic) will hit the pixel of another texture and BAM! They're gone... either teleported to another side, or they fall through the world... It's especially worse with the magic animals over the last two months... especially the Greater Sernuk teleports INTO another texture and BAM! Also teleported up a cliff on the far side, or fallen through the world, never to be seen again... or even touching, without teleporting, and GONE. I normally use Dispel Arrows on it, but it'll still fall through the world around the high-texture areas.
This isn't so much a "skill issue" or "getting used to things" as it is... the devs not doing Bug Fixing.
My mining is, if I recall correctly, around 40, and my Woodcutting is somewhere around the 20s. My furniture making is probably around 15.
I'm playing switch for like 3 weeks and my highest legitimate profession is gardening at 32? 33?, 2nd lowest is bug hunting at 23, and then there's hunting...
yeah, you can stay level 12 and be happy about it. do better, hunting.
I like helping people capture muujin and stuff but find all the frustrations around hunting to be super valid, and almost unplayable on switch
You're not wrong. I only bagged my first white Proud Horned Sernuk this evening. And it took me quite a bit of chasing air. I honestly thought I would never get one on my own. Furniture making, which is just pushing a button, is also low for me, because I don't have a reason for all the furniture; you can't sell or recycle it. Even if it is all very pretty. I'm not sure how to compare fishing because I find this mechanic much "easier" than other games I've played, but I find the spawn rates of rare fish abysmal. I really hope they fix it. I did discover by accident that you can't equip certain hooks with certain worms. I guess that would be OP and so you can't hook the fish? Same with the brew perhaps? It seems it's either one or the other buff thing. Bug hunting is my lowest skill for sure. I could not get silk until I got the exquisite bag and sticky bombs. Now I can get them. But spawn rates for rare bugs is as bad as fishing, incredibly frustrating. Fingers crossed these things are addressed. I think they want to slow us down to keep us playing. But you push too hard, people get discouraged and move on. You're not alone. Which is the fun part of an MMO.
i've found that the caterpillars while mining in bahari bay gives a constant silk stock
especially if you're not looking for them
I think some of the hard stuff is meant to encourage cooperative play. As an introvert, it took me awhile to get enough confidence to fully dive in. But now I'm enjoying spontaneous events like a honey lure someone shares; the groves; callouts, hunting together, etc.
I know, but when I moved to the Switch from the PC, oh my the learning curve. It was just so hard to move precisely. Again, better equipment smoothed out the weirdness. And I have to wear reading glasses at all times when I play on Switch! The teeny tiny numbers, low res graphics, etc. But I still love the port.
yeah it is kind of hard at the start, i do a lot of hunting and some bug hunting and the clipping is horrendous
i'm used to expect the bugs getting underground or teleporting animals, wish s6 has that in their fix priority
i don't have switch but i heard the text is very small yeah, and kind of darky
My kids can't even see it well. Even on our large TV it's too small. I understand why, it's a lot of info to fit on a screen. I'm not sure there's a good solution for that. It's been like that for other RPGs at times. It's a lot of UI to tweak.
Again, though, I'm thrilled it's on the Switch. I stopped playing in October because I wasn't thrilled with the competitive aspects. But now it's so much better thematically. I'm willing to be patient for a game that is free, fun, and building an MMO platform. I respect the shift and I'm grateful for the opportunity to play it.
yeah on a portable console it must be very hard to fit all the info, they have to be creative with that, without breaking the crossplatform
Good morning guys! I accidentally sold an emberseeker medallion! Right now I'm missing a medallion to complete the quest, how do I get another one?
Oh what, i thought it was impossible to sell those. Hope you find another one!
Someone can help me?? How can I get another medallion
Can they be requested through the social requests tab thing?
dont think so? you need them for your bundles
Oh I know that, was just a Suggestion
Well, I can't complete the bundle without this medallion!
I'm looking on the wiki and I don't see anything that implies you can get more than 6... if you accidentally sold one, I think it might just be gone...
You should absolutely contact support about it, you should not be able to sell items that you literally need and can't get back again
^this
That feeling when you accidentally use a rare fish to cook and don’t realise til afterwards…
Quest and bundle items like the medallions should be banned/blocked from being able to sell them considering you literally need them
I don't know about medallions but quests items say "item can't be sold" and it is literally impossible to put them in the shipping bin. Thought medallions were the same
its not considered to be "quest items"
they should really have thought more when it comes to medallions
I didn't think they were quest items, just that they were treated the same in regards to selling. I'm glad I know they can be sold, might need to put them in my lockbox to keep them safe.
just need to be more careful guys when you're putting things in the shipping bin, no need to rush coz it might not only be quest items you'll lose but also fish or bugs you worked hard to get.....this is especially true when grilling & cooking! lock them...i've read many stories accidentally cooking their void rays etc
True 😢😢😢
Did everyone see the palia news? If not let me tell you what it says. It says hey y’all stopped buying outfits and we need more money so I guess we will type a message even though we hate dealing with our fanbase. Also here is a teaser for Luna new year, maybe it will come out soon maybe by summer but certainly not for new years. Who cares we have more important things to do than deal with this game or our fans. Peace, don’t tag me or respond peasants. We don’t have time for you. Seriously people, stop supporting this game. You’re throwing money away.
That’s not what I read… also you know that Lunar New Years and ‘new years’ aren’t the same right? LNY this year falls on Feb 10
just Ignore trolls like they said themselves
there are people with a veeery limited view on the world, only their culture is the right one for them lmao, kinda sad
ok i dont like s6 either but bro... fr? rn?
Me trying to decipher the mental gymnastics on how any dev update is a bad thing
I'm actually excited for updates to this game. We bought the full Fae Farm game the day it came out. I wish we had saved that money to support Palia. The characters, story, romance, gameplay, EVERYTHING is so much more fleshed out than Fae Farm. It's like a perfect blend of Stardew Valley and ESO, and with a great supportive community of players.
I was in a cake party when the update was posted and everyone was excited about it lol
its the "if it isn't for me, its bad and throw it away" take for me. lol
The time it took for them to write that out tho
I don't get it
My only complaint is that my lights turn off in my house when I get near them and sometimes my cooking glitches. I can live with the other glitches.
Where did you guys see a dev post? I can't find it
I think your house might be haunted
okay thank you
like bruh i dont like s6 andeverything theyve done so far, but even IM not gonna say "yeah we should all just quit the game rn"
like dang, bro came out swinging just to say he gave up
It was in the palia news tab
No dev post yet they only told us there would be one
ye. thats just a general update. dev post will be later this month, probably next week
Bro Shepp'd Hassian and immediately logged into discord. The anger
No spoilers but accident or other reason?
the news were about the devblog being up by this week, so should be in the next days already
My Hassian is only level 2, he gets mad at me often idk why
Maybe, playing WoW for so long and waiting for Emerald Dream for years, has made me super patient for anything.
Ohh you have to wait till you finish your level 4 relationship quest
Too real
yuuup

Hassian is just a grumpy boy
Give me those bread crumbs

WoW is the original soon(tm) lol
haha yesss
also the original wait no(retcon that)
LOL, I’m just letting people know what I read between the lines. I’m 40, I’ve been gaming since NES. I’ve seen Devs come and go, I’ve seen great ones and bad ones, and S6 is a company that will milk its fan base with very minimal effort on their end then drop the game. I’ve seen it many, many times. I hope people stop spending money on the game ( play for free till it crashes all you want) I just don’t want people to waste hard earned money on a game that won’t survive and that the fans care more about than the creators.
you put too much effort into convincing others about your opinions.
Let people play how they want to play. It doesn't effect you
I’m free to have an opinion too and you have the same freedom to keep your finger still.
Oof
I'm older than you, started playing on Commodore 64 & Atari. I was burned when Playstation Home went down, but I don't regret the money I spent on that game for the few years I played it. No game is forever. Except FF14, apparently 😂
Literally a free game. lol. you're out here trying to get people to quit and not spend their money like some rival corporate advocate.
And WOW. Lord at the money I’ve spent on WOW. RuneScapes is also apparently still going.
I never said quit. I said save your money. Like you said it’s a free game.
runescape is still going pretty strong, mostly on the OSRS side
WOW is the grandfather of MMOs. I can only imagine the money spent on that game.
PFft, wow is not the grandfather. That is UO and is a far better game, even to this day!
UO?
WoW is really successful though.
ahh ultima, those were the days
Ultima Online
ive never heard of that before tbh
Ultima Online. Its a skill based progression system with guild wars and open world content. Way ahead of its time. Archaeage borrowed stuff from their concept.
I WANT COMMUNITY HOUSE PLOT! Imagine that!!! A house and bigger farm plots that the community helps out on... money goes into community bank that would be so cool for the community to actualy have somewhere to meet up. AND MUSIC INSTRUMENTS! omg! i want more coop things for this game.
I miss playing music at the front of the boat with my friends, on our way to pirate east and westers. 😭
idk about archaege either tbh. the most exposor i had to MMOs as a kid was toontown online and wizard101 lol
I’ve never played UO because by the time I had a good PC WOW had already become the household name. Both are great though.
SwG is another one to try from that era. Its really solid and think there are private servers still up.
You ever get into CoH/CoV? It was the competitor of wow at release. Really good, but marvel ruined them.
maybe one day. im trying not to get into too many games at once cause my brain will bounce between them all before i get exhausted from it
They really need to flesh out the community thing. There's currently no purpose to making or joining one. A joint bank/item storage would be great!
Hear that. I'm about to no life PalWorld in a few days though.
My friends would try anything that said MMO & free, them were the days
CoH ftw!!!
Other than spider man and Batman games I’ve never really gotten into hero games for some reason.
I'm giving palworld a bit of space, they made craftopia and ruined that, then left it
I did play some of the avengers but they tanked.
their dev/CSR teams are also exceptionally horrible
Here is my thought process: Palworld is Craftopia. They pulled every dev after their hype took off and understandably so. Its their once chance to get big. Craftopia still recieves updates too, recent one was a few months ago. If the game interests you, the NDA is up and everyone is streaming right now.
Looks smooth and polished for EA release.
yeah seen the odd shorts appearing on youtube
and since I was foolish enough to give Chris Roberts 60 bucks for a space ship, I can drop 30 dollars for a game that is actually playable 😄
I boguht that dumb thing ten years ago
watched 2 reviews noticing a few things for sure, combat still looks almost lifeless and the FPS drops when in combat look horrific
could be netcode, could be hardware specific malfunctions. Those things will get resolved. Not bad.
You have much faith, I don't in that company; time will tell 😄
Maybe? Steam at least lets us refund if its dog poo. lol. Not really faith but I can look at the game and tell I'll have enough fun to justify paying, if it gets better it gets better. If not, I'm sure a new game will take my attention in a few months.
today i'm choosing zeki as my shepp and eshe's reaction just made me that much more excited about it
lolol
i wanna make a new character just for that
I wonder what happens if you chose Kenli
Eshe breaks the 4th wall and redirects you to the player support page cause there's a 1/3 chance you accidentally chose him
I wish this is what happens (I'm one of those who chose Kenli on accident)
I've only heard of people choosing him on a accident
Perhaps I was being too generous
1/2 chance 🤣
aisen!
Thanks I suppose
Ok, so... I think I've figured out this whole "Give a gift every [selective] day" thing... the NPC's in need of gifts also need to simply LIKE me more to tell me about the other things they actually want, since they keep declining the things they like but have already been given.
You can only give a specific weekly liked gift once. Always liked gifts you can give as many times as you want
Yeah, and even though both Liked slots are checked, the Loved slots are outlined, but short of guesswork/look-it-up-online-lamework, all it seems I'm going to be able to do is keep chatting them up until they like me enough to tell me what they want
You probably already know this but the slots unlock as you're at that level. Some of them are stubborn (Delilah) and won't tell you their weekly so you do have to ask their family/friends or look it up/guess those
I once had her tell me she wanted a bahari crab for dinner, then she said "why would I want that?" when I tried to give it to her later that same day.
Oof was it through normal dialog or when you click on her gift box. I noticed they tend to tell you random things they like in normal dialog
Yeah, I clicked on the gift box to ask specifically! It was the day I learned what that was for, so I was super eager to use it and gift things. Up until that response anyway, Took a while to start doing it again. 😛
She changed her mind 🤣 I noticed for some they would mention an item but it wouldn't show up under the relationships tab
Got hung up on Fish Stew for Esch and Zeki because RNGesus didn't believe in me until about 2 hours ago
i finally caught a star quality void ray 😭
Congrats. Just pulled a * Alligator Gar myself
Then turned around and gave it to Kenyatta because she loves them and I want to steal her away from that bumpkin animal handler lol
I ready for winter event to be over.
At least they stopped giving us snowballs. I kept selling mine.
I didn't get any, but then, this is only day 4 for me? Maybe day 5.
I mostly just want the winter chapaa piles to be gone.
I'm tired of having the winter items in the pool of things that I can get from it.
But I'd also like some new content - feels like it's been a while.
I haven't even gotten half the chappa items just rugs (not even all of them) and snowshoes
yeah i've got so many rugs... can't wait for that stuff to be gone
I just discovered the winter store yesterday. Been playing for weeks and have run around it several times and finally realized there was a store there.
1,000 coins for a SINGLE SNOW PILE?
750 coins for LEAVES
Are these people insane? Is Zeki in charge of these prices because it seems a bit excessive.
Also why can't I buy coins? Sure the outfits are interesting and cool but other than a glider, you can't buy anything else. I know it's a good thing to not have a lot of kids making in-game purchases but at least let me be rich enough to afford the decor at the Underground! And the BIG BACKPACK! AND A BIGGER HOUSE OKAY S6?!
are you fairly new? i suspect the prices are balanced around people who've been playing a while, that's not really much money for people with maxed out gardens and stuff
Started Christmas eve. So yeah kinda.
Oh youll make the money in no time then
Yeah, I kind of felt the same way, until I relized it's pretty easy to amass a fortune pretty fast. Spent the better part of day 1 just mining. Managed to turn up a half dozen Emeralds at 1000 gold each, so that really got me off to a good start
My luck has run out with mining. I spent a good chunk last night mining in Bahari and barely found iron. I actually have an iron shortage atm.
I tend to get garnets and quartz more often than other starstones
I've only found 1 emerald ever! And it was like..... last week when I completed the All the Stars in the Ground accomplishment
I just walked into the inn and like 7 players jumped off the 2nd story right in front of me
Ankles broken
Anyone else having issues while fishing that the marker to reel in the fish is gone?
CRUNCH
I made it to the roof of the inn yesterday! Waved at all of the people down below but nobody saw me 😆
It's a bug, relogging should fix it
you may want to ignore the events area when live then... plushies cost 60k lol
I have been trying so hard to get a plushie from the lucky box.... 😭
Ive got the ormuu plushie from the lucky box! Its soo cute!
Well, that was fun.. solved some temple puzzle thing about a Kitsuu... way more fun than that other place with the Silverwing Eggs I still can't find the last one of
I'm happy for you and jealous
i got the honeybee plushie yesterday, but before that i hadn't gotten a plushie in months... rng is truly cruel
Asche!
All i care is about to find a Phoenix plushie.. There was one being sold at Maji marked back when i started to play. But it costed 70k and i was strugling to get 500
This is not a valid placement location!
It might be back for the rumoured lunar new year event!
Yeah that's what i hope for. And it should be rumoured. After all they make events for holidays and they linked a "Dragon" as a clue. And it's the year of the dragon after all.
yes, I just didn't want to put "the event" since we actually dont know
wait zeki was a ...choice ?
Would be epic, if they gave us the Dragon Firework Recipe as part of the lunisolar celebrations ticket system.
yesss
It was an interesting choice to make limited time items the goldsinks for longer term players and not have any goldsinks elsewhere aside from zeki coins
Maybe I'm just used to ffxiv where even the newbies can get everything for cheap/as quest rewards for seasonal events when they run lol
New update; biggest thing so far is that they're moving to a once-a-month patch cadence
Oh, news, brb while I read
Glad to hear they'll be working on bug fixes. I had stopped playing because my progess is hindered by two bugs - I can't finish the temple of the wind because of a Zeki bug, and I can't finish romancing Einar. I don't really have much else to do.
I'm mildly hopeful with that dev letter. But I'm a bit scared to get too excited anymore
been waiting for bugs to be ironed out before I play more, so i'm excited for this :3
Am I reading the dev log properly? The bug fixes aren't in the next patch, but the patch after the next one?
but first, they'll add new stuff to break to then justify the fixes after 😄
Okay so... Acknowledging needing to work on bug fixes and the nodes issue is good but... I guess we'll be a month and a half out minimum from that big focus
lackluster update tbh, doesn't really put much on the radar at all
I'm excited about the potential landscaping additions
Yeah, the update told me nothing...
No. There will probably still be bugfixes in the coming patch, but the next one after that is mostly fixes
They could spend the next year fixing bugs and I'd be content with that.
So most of the bugs won't be address until 2 months from now?
...no?
I have a Concern of them not saying that progression blocking glitches are being fixed next patch
So people could be waiting anywhere from two weeks to a month and a half to finish the gale temple quest and we don't know yet which
a month and a half gets me time to finish some of the games i bought over december. I'm hoping to be able to say the game is in a good place by my birthday at the current rate
sorta yes and no gwazi, they'll still be adding bug fixes to the lunar update, but yeah the majority will still be broke, so yeah..
But if they're only updating once a month, and most of the bugs are two updates away, that equates to 2 months doesn't it?
It's cool, I started playing another game because I was frustrated. Plenty to do on that one. But I'd really like to return to Palia and do more with my space.
It's like they heard me complaining earlier today.
their usual patch schedule is once every 2 weeks, don't know if they'll change that with the switch release now but thats how it was before
I felt that patch pace was too intense.
Did you read the post we're discussing
Incredibly lack luster Dev Update - what I read is they are recycling the marji market and NOT fixing the broken mechanics in game with a major focus being ---- rolling the game out on the steam platform not impressed in the least.
That's chamging to a more sustainable monthy cadence
New letter says itll be monthly, tiny
Like, maybe a bug fix rollout every week or every other week with content updates monthly would have been ideal, and sustainable.
Honestly, that was the one thing the dev update did actually say.
That they were switching to a monthly schedule.
The newest Dev Blog is nothing more than lip service that serves no purpose
The festival was meant to be a lunar new year event if I remember correctly. Not recycled, but rather when it should have happened anyway. We got to beta test the event early.
Still no accessibility mention. They don't even care.
Thats what the dev blogs always were, but the complaining about ammo pouched just made the actual contents even more vapid
they know they have been silent, they know the community isn't happy about their radio silence, so they put out a blog post with recycled marji market to tide the community over....sorry, but it's not enough to keep me interested in the game.
Wait, where did they complain about ammo?
That may be what we're looking at now, tbh. Monthly content updates, with bugfixes as they're done
players complaining about ammo pouches not being out yet i mean
We don't know
This one image sums up this entire discords.
Ah
if they were going to recycle the Marji market, they should have made it christmas themed, but they missed the mark - and lost that opportunity
I mean it's not even that. It's basically fluff that does nothing but say updates are slowing down, but we'll be more focused on bug fixes in the future.
Honestly, as a Stellaris player, Devlogs have the potential to be hella-informative and useful.
This one just... wasn't.
I think calling the new Maji Market something else would have been good and less confusing, but that's okay.
Its because S6 is scared to overshare.
game developer is scared to overshare.
And I don't blame them.
And understandably so, tbh
Lmao
people won't be happy until they are CCd onto all the company emails for "transparancy"
And even then they will find something to complain about.
that is nonsense.....they don't HAVE anything tangible to share....they've been on vacation for a month with their only focus now, on getting their game on multiple platforms....that is their end game
Can we blame them when we have people literally recycling their posts to make the same complaint?
I too love generalizing people with hyperbole
If people are expecting an update and the update is 'we're gonna do less updates' Im just not sure why anyone would be surprised Pikachu face that it dosent go over well
When you ignore a large part of your playerbase from the beginning, obviously people are gonna be upset.
They would have been better off not releasing the dev update - we'd think more of them on vacation than their choices now.
Oh no, a company wants the max social reach possible to make as much money as the game can? The absolute horror..
is it a large part though? How can you tell?
To be fair, I do kinda understand that.
As a hobby-dev I've come to understand how tenacious the community can be about public news because they either don't see the full picture, or are being recreationally outraged by dissecting every word spoken.
Buuuuut, I do think them not prioritizing the bugs in favor of clear business expansions is rather telling.
The fact the announcement before was literally a Dev going "Yolo! Here's emojis!", which itself was following a month of radio silence, really communicates the wrong message.
Probably tbh
I'd rather have fewer updates at a more sustainable pace so that they don't burn out, but okay
That is also possible, and why i wouldnt recommend anyone buying fits atm. Still, I prefer to be at least mildly optimistic and assume they intend for this game to work.
Disabled players are a large part of the playerbase. And even if we weren't, we're still an important part. You can't claim to have an inclusive game where everyone is welcome and ignore when people ask for accessibility countless times.
If they're not pulling in enough money to avoid layoffs, then yes, obviously they need to cut back. I'm just pointing out the irony in the messaging
I’m a disabled player
I'm glad for the update. I enjoyed hearing about what their general thoughts and plans are for upcoming stuff. I hope it goes well, and I'm excited to see what they have coming up.
you're stating a fact that you cannot know, then countering your own statement there 🙂 - either way discussing it here and gen has done nothing before, and won't now, save your fingers
I cant speak for percentages, but I do also have my very fun set of issues.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but what plans were really shared... They just talked about something we already knew about, and that they're going to cut back on updates
Discussing it raises awareness. Just because you don't care that Disabled players are being ignored doesn't mean everyone does. We're allowed to take up space, same as you.
I think it's less about being mad about less updates and more about that after so long a wait, the update being about less updates, including the majority of bug fixing being pushed back. And no one knows when the progression blocking stuff is going to be fixed. end of the month/early jan? or a month and a half from now? we don't know!
I'm glad they're taking their time, they're obviously having struggles over there and maybe a month between patches will make it so we don't get so many things broken on release, but idk personally I would have preferred the bug fixes first
Like, we have literally had discussions in this channel about how their current pace was likely unsustainable and that they should slow down and fix bugs... and now that they explicitly state this... that's suddenly not enough? I can't with this channel sometimes
Less updates now that they're on the switch makes complete sense... It's unfortunate but it is what it is
now you're assuming and getting het up, wrong crowd \o/
they identified their true focus - and that is rolling the game out on Steam platform.
o.O Did my post just get auto-wiped?
yeah I think you're either misunderstanding a thing or getting One Guyed at most, so don't "this channel"
Yes, it did
If it is any consolation this jaded player is at least a little bit pleased with that anouncement. I prefer action to words. Let us see if they make good on the bug fixes.
I only just said it's funny that we wanted an update and the update was less updates
I'm not talking about their work life balance lol
“If there’s one big thing that’s top of mind for us: know that there will be a committed effort to address and reduce the number of bugs presently in the game. We definitely want to acknowledge there’s quite a few and that we’re actively working on polishing Palia to be a smoother and more enjoyable experience across the board for our players. ” - S6 Aidan, Game Director
I sincerely hope this helps put a few people's minds at ease
That's more nuanced then a one sentance joke so I wouldn't read into it
To be fair, you can't argue against it either. The only way to tell is through a ton of polling.
That being said though, despite the fact that two different disabled players spoke out just here alone is enough to at least from an hypothesis on the matter.
https://tenor.com/view/bills-ugh-gif-9811803164280522639 discord mods rn
The one time I leave the house and they drop an update
༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ CMs take my energy ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ
Getting the game on steam will help the population. Plus I can't wait to see the reviews
Wondering what their balancing changes will be
(Bot was blocking me for saying $#!+ it seems)
Ok, yeah, I'll admit looking at it that way it is funny. That said, still probably healthier for the team
please seeing that reminds me of the 'cozy' crowd spamming that bleep in general every time the mods told them not to
Oh the reviews are gonna be lit. I already know how brutal it's going to be.
If my boss gutted my team with layoffs I wouldn't be the one pulling over time to make up for it either so yeah I agree completely
We have a whole channel #♿│accessibility-discussions where we've been consistently speaking out since the beginning of closed beta, as well as asking about accessibility through the feedback channels, tickets, everywhere they've told us to. Even asked about accessibility on Twitter and other social channels. We've never gotten a response.
yeah, the bot does that. At least theres even weirder things to get automodded for
As I've said, they laid off 10% which has been the norm for the industry the last six months
You guys only got a 'we slowed down fish reeling' fix this entire time I've been involved in the game
Other than the layoffs around open beta launch, we simply do not know if there were more
I dont think theyll be reading the reviews... surely someones going to c/p "please leave feedback at this link"
Exactly. And we've been asking for things like brightness sliders or text size options since the beginning of closed beta. Silence.
How do you know this? Curious where that number came from?
An article you can find with google.

What I've seen didn't have any numbers that's why I'm asking for specifics. I'm not being rude about it, I'm genuinely interested and asking out of that interest.
For their mental health they definitely shouldn't read any steam reviews.
Reminder back when A New Hope released that it took George Lucas several weeks to learn that the movie was a hit, cause he immediately went on vacation and tuned out the outside world fearing the negative backlash from his movie.
I think a lot of people can agree that once a month is more sustainable in the long run, but are simply unhappy with what's being prioritized in said updates
achievements have been broken for over 4 months now and S6 effectively just said that they're not going to be prioritizing bug fixes this patch but rather the patch after, and that means probably 2 more months of waiting before the progression-halting bugs are going to be addressed, with the way things have been going
...I think Z's got It, y'all XD
lmao i love that three people dropped receipts at once
My company probably lays off 10% every other quarter, it really is the norm lol
so many links idk which one to press
agreed. Ive seen how ruthless it can be there xD
I love that the article called it "early access" and not "beta"
Press them all
Thank you guys lol
More proof at how wibbly-wobbly those terms are nowadays
My other theory is, along with the industry in general: The game has only really been rolling for a six months, plus the alpha stuff before that. I would say that after about a year or so, maybe the company had a better idea of how many they needed to function and be effecient <shrugs> .
IMO, layoffs by themselves are indictive of a problem (though my heart goes out to those who lost their jobs)
Not to mention this is following a month of radio silence
Every time there's layoffs we get to play the game of 'that's not my job and if I do it once you'll make me do it forever' I completely understand how that stuff grinds things to a halt until it's figured out
Unionize. Not even joking slightly.
My company is a pro union buster man, feels real bad
Though they shouldn't be.
I had early access to Starfield so I played it three days before the launch date. That is early access
Yeah, it explains the delays; they had bigger things to do than write a dev blog
During holidays too oof
I'm sure a general union of tech workers could be formed somehow. Maybe you can't make it work on a company level, but if the majority of tech workers did join such a union then what choice would the industry have?
Honestly, blame Valve for popularizing using "early access" to mean darn near anything on Steam
Let's hope they get a good restructuring in place and can make some progress again soon
It does not - it's lip service
Idealy before going live on steam.... Please S6 that's masochistic
Really though, the big issue for me wasn't even the Dev Log, but what was before the Dev Log.
Being on vacation for a month, returning to find a ton of bugs and issues and your response is just yelling "Yolo" at the playerbase and responding in emoji? It comes across as the most uncaring, condenscending and unprofessional way one could handle the situation that one could think of.
All the Dev-Log did was confirm to me that earlier reading wasn't unwarranted.
I feel bad for the CM team, they got gutted and have really suffered with a lack of communication. I like to think she's just doing her best with the little to nothing she got
She knows we wanted to hear something....
I mean since the beginning it's been Talk Talk Talk but never any action. They've shown time and time again they're disconnected from the playerbase - the old Reddit Q&A showed that quite clear.
Oh please don't remind me of that mess I'll be actually annoyed lol
They probably were not on vacation for a month, tbh. It's more than likely they were on vacation until ~Jan 1st, and have been busy as hell since. Ashe's previous posts support this tbh
We dont talk about AMA no, no, no
And this is why silence is better a lot of times in relation to marketing and communication. No matter what is said, people will dismiss it.
It was literally the first time I've ever seen such blatant disregard for the playerbase 🤣
their focus is multiple platforms BEFORE the fix the product....how they did it with the switch and vanished not long after is what you will see again with steam....and....and...
Wait, what happened in the AMA?
every answer to every question was essentially "we know players want this, but too bad"
also keep in mind - now that the game is released on switch, they are going to have to jump through hoops to get updates to the switch player base because nintendo is notorious about putting updates on their systems
I'll be the first to tell you that dropping on a new platform before a scheduled break was probably not the smartest move, but thats not indictive that it will be the case every time
and with the game being cross platform, they can't release an update on the pc version without also updating the switch version at the same time
heckin ive missed you so im going to share this...

disagree - they want it out on as many platforms as possible so they can hope to get paid - this is now going to be their focus - getting paid - they will push a broken product out everywhere they can - for hopes of money, without thought of how they will be perceived with a tag of 'beta' as the excuse for a broken game
are we ever getting those ammo bags
They've got the quanitity over quality mindset and it shows
yes, because Steam was part of the plan, and with cross-platform live service games you need parity. So dropping on the platform and then achieving parity with the bug fixes all at once makes sense.
Secondly, well yeah. Do you think this game is some volunteer passion project? I'm sure all the devs want to be paid. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make?
I think their point is that the game is a scam
not sure i agree.
Which is... a questionable take tbh
They can choose to hold such belief, but since the paid material is all cosmetic with no benefit to game play and the game can be played entirely for free, I'm not sure how
it is genuinely absurd to me that the devs aren't focusing first on fixing the major bugs that players have been complaining about for months. Especially when th bugs are directly related to story progression. From pretty much every perspective it makes more sense to fix bugs first. If they care most about money, fixing bugs will make players happier and make new potential players more likely to actually pick up the game since they wont just be inundated with all of the issues that aren't being fixed. If they have anyone reading discussions and suggestions like the ones here, they should understand that. Adding more content before fixing near game-breaking bugs is just going to lead to more bugs that need to be fixed which will get shoved aside for months yet again...
agreed. Though from all ive seen them say today it seems they are trying to push the notion.
Honestly, as annoyed as I am with how they've chosen to do the dev update and delay the bugs.
I'm still probably gonna boot up Palia in a little bit, it's still a very fun and relaxing game.
Game isn't a scam, but it's clear there is little to no QA testing done and little effort to connect with the playerbase on a meaningful level.
yeah me too, they certaintly are not seeing another penny from me until they fix these major issues though
The Luna New Year stuff has been in the files for months now, so it wouldn't make sense to not release what they have in the pipeline.
No - focus on quality product - and people will buy it.....hide behind 'beta' terms and roll it out on multiple platforms when the OG is still broken - in my minds eye is foolish - they are knowingly putting a broken game on other platforms. Their focus should be on fixing what is already broken, and not adding more broken things to the mix to overwhelm themselves.
They never got a penny from me, I'm a poor boy 😂
I say while debating buying a $60 token pack on Foundry for my Pathfinder games
Game is still in Beta, so I have decided not to put any money into the game. I did however help bring people to the game, so that helps.
thats so real lol, I was unhappy with the clothing options so I caved since character customization is my favorite part of games
Pathfinder is a very good investment though.
I will keep playing, but until quest breaking bugs are fixed, I wouldn't recommend it to other gamers outside my immediate family (where I can say "don't dare fly over to that island!").
I am still unhappy with the color palettes for most of the outfits though not gonna lie... most of them are pretty bad imo
Honestly, I haven't bought anything yet either, but this dev update makes me a bit more comfortable doing so
I was going to buy stuff in the past, then it was clear there was no care. Maybe if they address accessibility one day I'll consider throwing a few bucks their way - I'm not holding my breath though.
Amazing 2 more weeks of no content and now it's gonna happen once a month as well... I hope next patch has a bunch of new stuff other than the mandatory bug fixes they need to introduce.
I remember another game that used to do updates every 2 weeks, then turned into every month, then introduced seasons and now it's like 4-5 months with no new content and when there is, it's recycled and the game is boring.
I'm going to vote Palia for consistently providing the most underwhelming news every single announcement.
Very true
major bugs need to be fixed so that everyone can actually look forward to content updates instead of mostly just the people who were lucky enough to do stuff in the right order or conveniently avoid the huge bugs being happy about it
I keep wondering when they will change their monetization strategy, like DDV did. Worried it will change everything.
Until we see for sure, I really don't want to see people here insisting that [x] or [y] bug will be fixed in the lunar festival update but I know they will (and already are)
Also the first company i've ever heard that gives an extra xmas vacation week. When they just released a brand new game and trying to win the market over.
I mean even schools in my country don't get that much of winter vacation anymore nowadays
If they went P2P they would fail horribly. It would be the worst choice they'd ever make.
My take is, you only get to make a first impression once. Releasing on a new platform should be something you want to try and make as smooth and problem-free as possible, because that's an entire new audience you're trying to hook into playing your game.
Leaving progression-breaking bugs unresolved for months on end does not make a good impression, no matter how you look at it.
People still run around saying the achievo bug is ONLY visual even when I know they know better so I can't wait to see how this dev letter gets misinterpreted
shouldn't it be Lunar btw? I thought Luna is just used as a name 🤔
I haven't played in a month due to lack of content. If they go that way, alot of people, including me, will simply quit the game in general. Or come back in like 1-2y if the game is still on by then
I can't wait to read the Palia reviews on Steam, maybe the devs will open their eyes then? I donno.
Luna is one of their orbiting moons.
Exactly. They are soft launched, even if they continue to claim the game is in beta; It's free, there's no progress wipes - every interaction with the game leaves an impression and for many it isn't a good one.
Luna's the name of one of the Palian moons
Ah I see, ty
I haven't touched it since the Maji Market ended. Been waiting for accessibility changes so I can actually play, but never anything.
I think that since there are two moons (?) and they both have new year, "Luna neww year" Is a way of saying that it's only from that one
I'm glad they're taking longer for patches, in the hope that'll mean content arrives less broken, but Not So Glad the bugfix patch is the one being pushed back
Honestly, it sounds like as a company P6 has some good priorities. They take care of their workers and wellbeing well, except for the firings.
I think though, maybe they ran so hard with the "mental health space" mantra that they forget that sometimes, a job does have responsibilities to be addressed and taken care of.
That's not to say they should've had a shorter vacation. But they probably should've had the foresight to not push a big change like the Switch release so close to it when they knew they'd be away. And then upon coming back decide to make bugs their lowest priority.
I mean at first if there's brand new people, they will have something to do for a month. And will be positive, but if they keep making "great" decisions, it will turn downhill from there.
Like every now and then we get a new temple or they add grind relationships. But that won't be enough for steam userbase for sure.
even new players are inundated with bugs so quickly there's scarcely enough for that (I say this as a new player myself)
Im guessing they're pushing a bug fix patch back so that when whatever new content they add inevitably breaks like it always does they'll have a patch planned to push fixes
Still going to play and send positive thoughts to the workers doing their best to meet difficult demands. They aren't the ones in charge, so hoping the good ones hang in there. Will farm more to pay for the market party.
Not everyone has infinite patience when it comes to bugs, especially the bigger, quest blocking ones, and whether those are gonna be hotfixed in with the next patch or it's gonna be one of those "wait a month and a half" things is unknown
I know there are a lot of people in this discord who would give S6 the moon if they could but if actual fixes frustrating people aren't done sooner than later, many will move on
Honestly, it makes sense considering the Luna New Year stuff's been in the pipeline for months. The next patch is probably going to be the first one under the new development plan
its hard to enjoy an immersive cozy game when your immersion is being prevented by huge issues
And we don't know which if any hotfixes will be done with next patch. So I don't want to see people telling those with the eye of the watcher bug that it'll be fixed in the upcoming patched
The only reason i'm patient is that I dont have the energy to be impatient.
I'll just keep on with clearing my library until I see something worth booting for.
As someone who's been waiting since beginning of closed beta for changes; THIS.
When nothing changes it is exhausting and difficult to find love for what could be an amazing game. There needs to be a change, otherwise I can't see Palia lasting very long.
Honestly, I managed to skip the Gale Temple bug entirely somehow xD
mine got fixed after 4 months... it was a horrible wait
And after a month or more of waiting alot of us expect more than bug fixes and "romancing Subira" like i look forward to spend 2-3w irl to just talk to her every in game day to level her up ... I barely finished everyone else and it was kinda grindy and boring
tbh for me I'm kind of in a "imma just vibe" state while watching things and waiting for things to bein a state where I feel like I can come back without having a frustrating game experience
The biggest isssues has been stuff like batch-crafting being gone, Deer running into walls or being immortal, that sort of jazz
rewatching tsukimichi atm. and working on core keeper.
That whole cooking bug with the rolling pin bites too
I really just want them to fix the story bugs 😭 I was having fun with the story and having major stuff to do, but I can't progress because of the island bugs so its just really upsetting every time I log in ngl
I'll def be interested to see what does, if anything, get fixed in the upcoming patch, aside from adding the market/Subira romance/some housing stuff
@pine sable I'vee been playing everything from Alan Wake to Sandrock, with my usual FFXIV sprinkled in
it's the most sane option, even Diablo 4 being live service and full release was packed with unbalances and game breaking bugs, i knew the first day i bought it that i would have to wait until season 4-6 to enjoy the game
Still waiting
and the same thing i'm going to do with Palia
core keeper is just from today, ive finished about 5 games so far this year xD
I don't play diablo 4 but I read that season 1 was uhhhh a Thing lmao
a $70 game full released by a multibillion dollar company
If the last Maji Market is any indication, it should be about a month long, which should give people plenty to do till the next content update
I guess it depends on what it entails? last maji market just had me meandering over every hour to repeat chapaa chase until I went mad cause there was just a "talk to this person, then this person" questline otherwise
this one seems to add more but to fill up a whole month of content, we'll see
Also "hotpot game based on Mahjong" just makes me realise that - like others in their 30's - I'm gonna have to learn how to play Mahjong
I visited last one 5 times total and mostly to complete the quest it gave. Also did the chappa thing 4-5 times and got bored of it.
Now i will probably do the same, but this time i got the cash to buy everything in it as well 😄
mahjong >.<
every time a game throws mahjong at me I cry, I have never been able to get my head around that game and every damn game wants to make me play it for some reason lmfao
great game core keeper, finished it last year
i did a bunch last year, but im trying to 100% some games, so getting back to it now.
finished Recettear, Blasphemous and now i'm playing Ys Felghana
I do some kind of challenge with friends where we suggest games to play
I never wanted to see a majong tile in my life again after the yakuza games and then a bunch of other games wanna do that to me too and i'm like NOOOO
shoulda heard the wail that came from me when I got a quest in sandrock that added it in. at least completely optional and you can get tokens from several other games but
I cant even wrap my head around blackjack... mahjong seems like a futile effort
blackjack is fun
It will probably be somewhat simplified since it's "inspired" by mahjong
Blackjack, thankfully, at least has a lot less rules than mahjong. it's like the only card game I feel I get enough to play. but anything past that and my head hurts
I have a terrible question: does breaking up with someone reduce their friendship too or just the heart level?
Fairly simple once you learn the odds for having a winning hand. Of course the house still has that 1% edge so perfectly playing the game over a long period of time means you still lose eventually.
I just kind of hope we get to play it (or a variation) after the event ends. I want to get trounced by play against Auni at cards!
when I was in vegas I did video blackjack (I almost said video flapjack...) because I was too much of a weenie to play with a real dealer because people scare me
I get the rules and the odds.. i just don't get the.. fun? I guess... I can count cards but that just makes it even less fun
Just the heart level :)
I broke up with hassian and we're still full friendship
So can you put a room away after you've built it ?
yup, i have several rooms ready for a later date
Oh okay
Ty!
wow i'm on a roll today!! think i just need a starred fairy carp now
Reminds me I should play and buy some rooms... or maybe save money for Luna New Year... decisions, decisions...
I have about 2 mil in my box. I'm sure im fine either way. I'm just off because I'm tired of being forced to blow money on Zeki.
the new stuff (not chapaa chase) are almost all ticket bought
moar! we must has moar!
Grats! I manged to get a star unicorn before a non starred so I only just finished the Vault of the Waves bundles up last week (I was -not- about to turn in my starred one!) Hubs decided to join me for the last week of my fishing journey and not only finished up all the bundles within a week but also 'accidently' fished up an Ancient fish when he was trying for the giant Kilima stingray >_<
For reference he was around level 10-11 and now around 12-ish, I'm now level 28 and started fishing for bundles around level 8-9... Gotta love RNG!
nah, I'm tired of fishing, and had people purposely force their presence on my while farming out in the world a few times now, usually while theyre being rude. I'm really not bothered to hit level 400 fishing before februari...
Be glad it's not Go.
eww fishing
exactly... and its 380 or so atm... since im terrified of mining when people are going to run ADHD laps around me and make me have panic attacks, so that's off the menu.
Dont get me wrong, im fine with people doing adhd laps, just not around me, thanks
Renown sink or cap raise when
At this point, never it seems. And i don't really care anymore since i lost over 10k renown at this point
Wasted renown is mental blocking me from progressing with quests and everything else
Yeah i don't really get why there is a cap in general ... i mean how much bad will do for that number to just go up ...
just read the dev diary thing. idk how to feel about it
i think its to stop people blasting through and capping new renown buffs immediately when theyre released. I'd rather see them add a way to spend some if thats the case though.
its a let down fo rme
on one hand i knew it was gonna be a big nothing burger but on the other im glad theyre slowing down the major updates and (hopefully) arent going to work their devs to death and with that shift, focus a LOT more on fixing bugs
that is assuming they actually are, we need proof first ofc, I'm pretty sure the higher ups are still going to steam ahead with adding stuff at every venture
you said the opperative word that is their focus presently STEAM they are rolling it out there, that's their focus presently.
sadly yeah I expect steam in Q1, 2 at most
doesn't matter where they roll it out - it's available as a standalone product - they are trying to reach a wider audience instead of fixing what they have...
If they did a deal with epic it'll probably be 6 to 12 months exclusivity for them
And I think they did since I don't see a reason only launching on epic
I kind of expect Steam to launch Q3 - Q4 for that reason
"we slowly down" -proceeds to not slow down and just release stuff and rush a steam release under the guise of a beta-
but… its not like steam is a different platform at all, its still PC so their prio will be to fix the game add new stuff etc, steam won't hinder them with that?! infact opening the game to an even bigger audience is better
Meh it's not like steam version is really any different than current PC version. Just the reviews will be brutal if they don't fix the bigger bugs first
Exactly. As far as I know, it's really not that much work to release a product on Steam?
honestly? i feel those steam reviews are needed
Hence the big focus on bug fixes in 0.177, I'd imagine
I'll def be very curious as to how it'll turn out by 0.177
But we worked to gather it anyway. So we're supposed to lose thousands until they eventually decide to make a way to spend it again ...
I just really hope that, moving forward, they reconsider their priorities more. I can understand 0.177 as a prime opportunity to clean house, so to speak, but I hope that after that they nip issues in the bud instead of letting the issues pile up until they can no longer be ignoreed
I agree with you that it's not great and needs something to spend it on, just saying the cap is probably there for that reason.
Honestly, keeping major content drops monthly will give them more time to bugfix. And the dev blog doesn't rule out smaller patches happening as well, either
Yeah. I definitely don't want to see them needing to pause and do a spring cleaning patch multiple times
If we still get the same patch quality with monthly drops then idk what to think anymore lol. but of course we'll just have to see.
They probably sat down and had a frank all-hands discussion on the technical debt they were in, and how to fix it. Which is a good conversation to have!
Never said it wasn't and that I wasn't happy about it being monthly now, to be fair
Oh, no, I know, we're on the same page here. I'll be honest, the most exciting thing for me when I read the patch notes was the cadence change (but then, I've known about Luna New Year for a while now)
Monthly updates instead of every two weeks is fine for me if they can just fix the bugs. I’m hoping they’re fixing the bugs in the game with this next patch, but don’t want to assume since it wasn’t announced or mentioned
what i imagine happened in the meeting
I was happy to see that they're going to be taking longer for each patch, just as I was happy when FFXIV did the same last expansion to give their devs more breathing room and time to relax, but I'm still uncertain and concerned of whether it'll be enough. And concerned that if the luna new year patch doesn't fix some of the most frustrating bugs and pushes them to march, they're gonna lose more players due to that frustration
Yeah, if they can make use of that extra time to address issues as they pop up instead of immediately rushing headfirst into the next new thing, I would consider it a huge step in the right direction
So I'm 🤞all I know is that they NEED to fix the gale temple bug this upcoming patch
Typically, every patch has had some bugfixes (hoping they fix the Eye of The Storm bug, since it's been getting a lot of people), but we don't know what those fixes are going to be until patch day, and even then they usually only highlight the big ticket fixes
the gale temple and crashes have to be top of the list with this patch
that above everything is causing people to get frustrated and give up and leave from what I've read here/reddit/twitter
when you have people take extended breaks to wait for a big fix, the longer that fix takes, the more people you risk just not coming back cause they've moved on completely
lord knows I've had that experience plenty of times in games
Personally (and I am going to buttress this with this is only my opinion as a player so it doesn't get taken as fact) I think any bugfixes that end up in this next patch are going to be for showstoppers like the Zeki bug (or, at the very least, info that 'hey, this may take longer than intended to fix')
Since winterlights is ending once the next update comes out early February, does anyone remember if the Order npc for sure comes after the furniture quest or am I very screwed and should just ask the other 23 lol
Once you get the entire quest chain done, she shows up.
Furniture then dishes
Sweet baby Jesus, there's more after the furniture?? I'm screwed lmao
honestly i really need winterlights to be done, im so over it at this point lol
I started the game last week now I scrambling lmao
Yeah, I'm really hoping that's true, re: the zeki bug being fixed next patch. Cause as I said, that is SUPER important. New content is always important in online games, like of course they gotta put new stuff in too as time passes, but I'm hoping they split the focus more towards the side of bug fixes. Espec since new content usualy comes out bugged in some way and you don't want those to keep piling up.
dont rush, next update isn't until end of the month or early feb so you have at least 2 weeks
So, we don't know if the Subira quest is leaving next patch (Subira herself will stay), the only thing we know for sure is Winterlights ends next update
Yeah I wonder if that questline's gonna end. Either way I don't think I'm personally gonna bother cause it's way too much flow/palium for me to want to use
So yeah, don't feel like you need to rush those questlines; they're more of a late-game thing anyways
The perfectionist in me is like "but what about the optionallls." If I can't make it by Feb 1 I'll give up lmao
Surprisingly enough, I got lucky and got really friendly servers and finished the palia ore and flow wood quotas. The silk is the issue rn
I get that. FWIW, the team has mentioned they'll be very transparent on when the quest is leaving, and Subira and all the recipes from the intro quest will come back in other ways
holy hell the reddit just shocked me, they actually deleted a message where the person was being an absolute butt about anyone having anything less than glowing words about the update
wait rly?
Buzzy Jars are your friend there. Pop one, go to Bahari Bay, and just start hurling bug bombs at everything that shows up on the compass
Yeah, first time I've ever seen one of those messages ever get removed LOL
ofc the reddit is downvoting the comments that are rightfully negative
at least I'm hoping the mods took it down. it says [removed] instead of [deleted]
Oooo, I'll have to try that
Also, mining (and to a lesser extent, foraging) can also spawn rare bugs to catch for silk
You can also buy silk fabric at the furniture store, which is pricey, but worth it if you make more money farming. I got tired of bug hunting when I hadn't leveled up enough yet to be fast enough at getting the bugs while mining. So I bought silk to finish one of the pieces.
Has the dev team ever officially stated why there is a crop plot limit in Palia?
Economy balance
In a game with no player based economy I will literally never understand that argument, but 9 just is not enough. 😦
🤷
palia has no economy to ruin tbh. the only thing is they dont want players making more gold then s6 wants them to period and artifically slowing the game down
Probably by economy they mean pacing. Not levelling too fast and blitzing it
But everything at the Maji Market is so expensive!
They don’t want you to hoard a ton of money come back for a major update buy everything and quit again
They need to show their investors “hey we have X amount of concurrent players and they’re all potential customers”
No, pacing is a legitimate dev concern
it ruined swtor at launch
I think the weekly challenges are incentive, at least for me. It's a dopamine thing maybe?
bioware didn't plan for their pop to no life the game and thats what happened. They had to rush out end game content and eventually scrapped Ilium
people will do that no matter what they do. its how some people operate and they WILL find ways to blitz the game no matter what
Pacing is a dev concern for a game that has a story, or progression. Palia has nothing but the fun and coziness of farming, hunting, and gathering. I fail to see how the pacing makes me have more fun... It makes me want to play animal crossing or stardew lmao
Exactly. When people refer to "economy", they aren't talking about a player-to-player economy, but an internal one
TOR ruined TOR 😄
how can one whale if money is meaningless.
A big part of design philosophy is protecting the player against themselves.
Players will grind and burn themselves out of having fun given the opportunity if it's the optiminal gameplay route.
TOR? On of the xpacs?
trying to fight people who will grind and get to the top yet punish everyone for it will just lead to ppl leaving in the end. you cant stop some ppl playing how they will play at all honestly cause that will just cause the player count to go down even faster
Yep. Players will optimize the fun out of anything, given the time and opportunity
like fighting those kinds of players will just make them want to do it more or make more people leave then needed. fighting players is NEVER a good option to do when it comes to things like this cause its just going to punish everyone, even the casual players in the long run and it does not get pretty, trust me.
I find gaming attracts that kind of disposition to begin with.
tbh spending 80mill on voice acting was mistake #3. mistake #2 was using hero engine, mistake #1 was EA buying BW - after that revan expac was dire and they've not recovered since - even broadsword was a useless idea 😄
So let them, this argument is invalid in a nearly singleplayer game with no live economy..... If someone wants to plant 50 million crops and 'finish' (theres nothing to finish in Palia) the game, then let them. Why punish me for wanting enough crop plots to plant a few of every crop?
like making silk so expensive punishes everyone, not just one group of ppl as an example
they don't want players getting everything too fast, that's not a hard concept or one anyone can argue tbh
the weekly challenges are defintely about player retention. The inflated costs of some of the rewards are to give you a reason to keep coming back
As long as it's not a zero-sum system. Or they give us more crops but adjust the economy to compensate. Or more palium but adjust recipe requirements.
then s6 should have planned better. they knew what they were getting into, esp if some are from blizzard and riot. they know how some gamers are. some are just goint to go fast and we cant stop them unless everyone gets punished for that small percentage of players
yarp
So true
Sure, Im not even asking for an uncapped crop plot system. I can just assure you as someone with many hours of almost only farming in Palia, 9 is just not enough. If they want to artificially cap farming at 15 plots go for it. But 9 is too low.
Weekly challenges is how I'm going to buy 5 aquariums o.o
Like if I want to walk through a field of wheat and nothing else on my plot like from the movie the Gladiator

I want my FARM house to be a FARM. Not a mansion with a small garden
I agree. I would like separate tree plots, to line bushes along fences, etc.
or from the photoshoot of every young woman in her 20s wearing a big hat and a sundress
I really enjoyed the story. Swtor is worth it for the imperial agent story and its a solid experience.
for the 1-50 and bits after yep, everything else is eh really, tis a theme park game now really with lackluster battle passes, minimal updates etc
This. Large crop plots that have 4 large crop slots and the regular 9 slot crop plots. Having to mix my large crops with small crops actually makes me want to uninstall the game because its so terrible to look at outside the window of my kitchen while im cooking 😿
time to close the curtains 😄
