I've been trying to hook the ancient fish for awhile but haven't seen it until yesterday and than today. I wasn't able to catch it. Does the chance of catching an epic level fish go up with a higher fishing level?

yes u can in fact its actually usefull although some of those hook items arent worth their medals as uyr better of just cooking a similar buff from food and u only need tso many before its impossible to fail a catch

Unstarred unicorn is a pain because it is only a 1% chance and only during the daytime. Which, for an epic, is a short time period. A starred Unicorn has a 1% chance which is the same chance as a Void Ray.

I can relate! The terrible RNG ratios make me really hate the game at the moment. My thoughts on the plushies is if I can't get the unicorn fish for a bundle, there is no flipping way I'm going to get a random lantern bug or Muujin plushie! And those are plushies I really want. I wanted the Muujin to be dogs on my yard, and I love how the lantern bug glows. I'm hoping the black market fishing may have a component that lets us buy these terribly epic fish that we badly need for a bundle. I thought it was horrible navigating through lava and gusts of wind, but oh, no! What the heck?!? Epic fish you can only catch with the hardest worm to get quantity on?!? Yeah, I really appreciate the devs making me grind day in and out (and sometimes not catching fish to save my gloworms)...and some have been trying for months!!!!!

We're supposed to be playing a cozy game. There's nothing cozy about fighting the 1% epic statistic to get these bundles completed. It makes me madder that mad. No game I've ever played felt like it was that hard to complete a quest!

And when you do catch something like the unicorn fish, I just got the recommendation to have all your boosts boosted out. Do you know how terrible it is to get things like rod boosts and grind food for fish bonuses just so your rod doesn't break before you realize what you've got. For a 1% chance that doesn't seem to exist

I'd be dumping all my profits into those boosts just hoping for the chance to get a fish. 😭

I was having terrible luck on mining and other things, so I started binge-watching YouTube videos and streams. I found out you have better luck getting stuff the more unlikely it is that someone else has mined it before. That even sometimes the smaller nodes have stuff because people tend to skip over them. And Bahari tends to give you better luck because it is a wider map, making it less likely that someone has mined before. And since I started imagining where on the map somone would NOT mine, I've been having slightly better luck...but the pal ore is probably the worse thing ever! I can easily get flow wood, but paladium is hard...but not like squeezing water out of a raisin to get the gems and epic fish and critters!

Largely what I get is citrine and quartz, but I've still had others show up, too.

I just found out today that a ruby is needed for a LVL 5 quest, and I know you can only get them in pal ore. So another UGH!

As you might tell, I haven't been as friendly with the NPCs because of my bundle completing goals, lol

I don't know if it increases your chances because they've gotten it before, but I believe members in a party get the same rewards as you with mining, so you might be able to cut down some of the grind. I definitely was part of a hunting party and I got their loot as well as mine (and same goes for bugs). I haven't tried mining yet as a party, so I may be wrong.

I'm still in that party group, but I only did it once. I do have a friend who I do small-time cooking with, and I enjoy we get the same rewards...but things like the 100X cake parties feel too overwhelming right now...and that's okay.

By random luck, all the fish I need belong to the Waves bundle, so I'm just not accessing the ancient fish. It seems like yours is all over the board. Fingers crossed they give us a chance with these epic monsters. The only way I caught the flame tongue was using PaliaNow (a part of Paliapedia that shows what time-sensitive fish and bugs have spawned)...and I would jump between the pools of water depending on what they were tracking as available. Maybe accessing that might help because most of the fish only show up certain times of the day and in certain areas too.

It's so weird how different it is for people. I'm finding the reverse to be true. I've thrown so many glowworms at Bahari Coast and even re-casted without catching before deciding that's a pure waste of my time. Only once did I see the unicorn fish and I just happened to have my boosts disappear right as I snagged it, so it immediately broke the line. I literally cried because I spent hours upon hours just to find one.

after I had about half of the fish, I decided to buckle down and burned through the rest of the fish (star quality only) I was missing in 2 days. Keeping track of the time of day + which bait + how few fishing nodes the river has I spent way more time struggling with that. Unicorn fish was boring, but there are at least lots of nodes and its available at all times of day. At some point some sort of pity seemed to kick in and I hooked it three times in a row, losing the first two.

(and by two days I mean I spent most of my waking hours over a weekend fishing. it was still a big time investment, just in one BIG block rather than spread out over time)

Wow! I've read that some people take months to catch them. If I didn't have hopes for what may come with the patch tomorrow, I literally was debating giving up the game because I'm so over fighting epic fish and I don't want to just give up on completing the bundle, and I don't ever want to fish in a game again at this moment. I view the Ore Compass as a grief'ing tool, as a good deal of the people using them don't shout out their Pal finds. Then there's the fact that the large nodes are mined, the ones with better drop chances and higher ore drops, are all taken by those Compass users ahead of time.
Currently, the despawn time doesn't allow for very many people to also mine the node before it despawns. Not that they should stay around for too long, as they need to go so that a new node can eventually spawn. Which leads to the next point.
With those Compass users leaving behind all of the stone nodes, it just reduces the number of ore nodes that can spawn. Eventually, you're finding 4/5 stone because the Ore Compass has trained people to ignore them, leaving the mining on that server a right mess.
Now, with gold building blocks being added into the mix, do you think it'll get any better? Nope. In fact, the people looking for gold for the Lures will be competing with the people looking for gold for the Blocks. Which also means that any mining in Kilima Valley will also suffer due to everyone looking for silver ore to make said Compasses.
All-in-all, the nerfs they've made to mining, let alone what the Compass is doing and will continue to do, just feels like the Devs hate the player base. It's insulting. They need to actually fix Mining rather than just swinging the Nerf Bat at it continually.

This makes sense now. There's times when I use my ore compass and it doesn't have gems/gold/silver in said rock. It's gotten to the point where I won't make them any more. Now being that said, I am one to hit every stone in my path because I read how it messes up the drops. Hopefully, they'll figure something out.

The thing is, is that there are always the same amount of nodes of each type on the map. For example there are always 8 nodes of palium 3 small, 3 medium and 2 large. Once they despawn, they will respawn somewhere else but there will always be room for them because there are always empty spaces on the map

I've already tested them all and for me the best is the major safe zone size. Using it, even with the back and forth of some epics, this movement is still within the safe zone, so it's perfect. I never lost an epic again after using it.

With two boosters you go up one level and get two more, so they will be infinite. 😃

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that s6 has way more resources to hire and pay mods in-game who can speak multiple languages. It seems like the mods in Discord are largely volunteers, so if none of them can speak a language, none of them can moderate in it. It would be the same for any language other than English.

A little tip. If you decide to get rid of all the common fish to have less in storage, check to see if you already have one on display. If not, you'll find yourself fishing for star gillyfins, eyeless minnows, and all the other common fish - and that one flametongue Ray that you did something with.

If you didnt already know, you can only catch epic fish using glow worms. If you dont use glow worms, you cant encounter them at all. That aside, I think being in a party increases the chances for epic fish, but this is new and I am unsure if this is proven or not

I have never seen actual numbers. I have caught every fish in 1-3 days, others complain that they never see the fish they want. My strategy is to always look what fish jumps out the water and not to reel in for the ones you dont want so you maximize the times you throw your bobber out

This Ancient fish won't spawn, this is pretty frustrating. I thought it might be that I was missing something for the bundle, but it is complete. I,ve seen some older posts mentioning a problem where the fish won't spawn at all as well. If I at least saw it once I could be sure it was there but.. even with the other "super rare epic" fish that are supposed to be hard to run into I,ve at least seen them. It was just a matter of catching it. Never had this much trouble simply collecting fish in a cozy game before. This is the last one before finishing the achievement, I think I might just give up on it though.

have you checked if you have the 'something's in the water' accomplishment? as long as you have that the fish should be able to spawn. i've heard one or two people say they didn't get the accomplishment because of a bug so it's worth checking i think

Yea it says it's complete, some said they were able to fix it by clicking on the wave bundle at the temple so I tried that to see if it would do anything but to no avial. Others says it was fixed after the update but.. idk

bahari is much better, the ponds are near each other so it doesnt take as long to run between the ponds hence making it easier to hit the hotspots

Regarding fishing in the Underground pool: If everyone casts straight in front of them across to the opposite edge of the pool, then all the bobbers spread out like numbers on a clock so you can see them all individually. If you take those numbers (bobbers) and jam them up in the middle, it makes them virtually indistinguishable from one another. So far everytime I go to the underground and there’s a crowd of fishers, they’re all casting onto the middle. Starred fish circles are obviously different, for those you just have to deal with the crowded bobbers. The nice thing is even if everyone else is casting into the middle, you can still cast to the opposite side and see your bobber. I’d really love for this to catch on so spread the word to your friends and fishers!

uhm output is based on item gold value and on foodstuffs that depends on ingredient value and if u get it starred also normal foodstuff is nerfed in goldoutput value cuz u can party up and each use only one ingredeitn as such grilled fish rains supreme (and now u can actually do something with the fish u get)
