• Hand in all the bundles for Vault of the Waves to release the fish into the Kilima Lake waters.
• Fish between 3 am and 9 pm.
• Prioritize fishing hotspots at Kilima Village Fairgrounds which has a higher chance of spawning the Ancient Fish
• Have the Fisherman's Brew buff up
• Use Safe Zone Size Booster on your rod, or a Hook Time Booster. (which you got as reward from the bundles) Respect the Brew buff and the booster, because you don't like to lose it when you hook it.

Yes, all the static nodes were removed a while back and it is a real pain to find any palium at all, unless you get lucky enough to get on a dead server for a while. Plus less people are calling it out lately, so I can go on for an hour farming it and come back with a few ores.

What we need is a flow infused palium nodes mining event, we have plenty of empty mines now and we could have it at 12PM Noon, to balance out the flow tree groves.

Yesterday I couldn't fish quietly because people were calling every tiny bit of palium, it was really annoying
If palium is mined, it respawns immediately. So even in a server with plenty of people it's still ok

NW, void ray is just caught in caves at any time of day with glow worm. Just get a full stack of glow worms, some fisherman's brews and patiently fish. Maybe you'll need another stack of glow worms, but normally it should do the trick

You'll need a void ray for bundles too, so in case that you're fishing for your personal fish tank collection, also fill the time with casting your line when there's no hotspots around in case you can catch a non-starred one for the bundle

But I use that information to my advantage by letting the fish swim away everytime

I honestly don't know if XP is associated with price, but the average uncommon/rare fish on B Coast sell for more than K Lake so if you're down for a fishing session and the Bahari travel time isn't an issue, I'd head to coast. But mostly I choose by Incidental Foraging (do I need clay or lotus: Lake, do I want oysters: coast)

also shoutout for setting up a 4 campfire configuration: it won't increase your profits by much but a serious fishing trip can net you like 1/3 a cooking level from grilling

When the fish pops up to bite on the bobber let it swim away

If you want the fish then leave the bobber in the water and wait for it to come back

If you dont want it, then when it swims away pull the bobber out of the water and move along

This trick is very similar to the normal saving worms trick but is changed because the hotspot fish swim away faster

And because it doesnt use worms and you arent wasting time reeling in fish you dont want, you are faster and use a lot less worms

What do you mean ? The Morning/Day/Evening/Night info I got from the wiki site. I may have miscopied a few, so which ones are wrong ? I use the spreadsheet to decide which fish I am going for depending on where I am and what time of day it is when I am on a fishing expedition.

Someone earlier asked what a good place to level fishing is. I have spent some time in Pavel mine for a few reasons (started during Maji Market). It's easy to travel board there to Behari, grab mining pick and run to through the stone wall/gate/opening to the mine-- pick up a few nodes inside the mine/Palium does spawn there. Three fishing pools spawn regularly, people stop by often and you can get the fishing buff, drink the brew, use fish stew for extra buff (thinkt hat's what it's called), and glow worm your arse off. You also have chance of catching the void ray-- if you don't wanna run up and down coast searching for hot spots. I've fished up quite a bit of makeshift there as well. I'm sure there are people with better spots- I'm Lvl 170+ in fishing and that, as well as Beachcomber area- light house to the left, is a nice lil' spot- good to level and make $.

If you mean the weekly things for medals, you don't need to get them from anyone. As long as you are at least lv10 in a skill they will appear in your accomplishments tab and payout automatically.

Hi there! My first plot/only plot I'm working on at the moment is pretty much Makeshift and now Maji Market. I'm at fishing level 178. I've done a bit of reading online and have a bit of experience... fishing with glow worms in Bahari works for me. My favorite spots are just beside the Lighthouse/Beachcomber- I don't run the coast, I'm too lazy. My other spot is Pavel mines- again, glow worms. I go out with about 100+ at a time, use Fish Stew (easy to make- use the starred fish you catch in the mine), and the Brew you make on the firepit. People often come by as they are mining and will fish a bit, giving you a chance of the buff too. Three fishing pools spawn pretty regularly- you can also get there easily-- yesterday a massive palium spawn in there- walked away with 33 during the fishing session, 7 crates-- roughly 1 1/2 hours, plus some other gems. Maji market is also good- for similar reasons- hope this helps, happy makeshift hunting! I'm addicted--- furniture making is level 44, I hve a full house of makeshift everything, and am growing my fishing tent camp-- I think I have something like 15 tents atm.

I was running around the other day and witnessed some pretty childish stuff in the chat about Pal, where someone called out Pal, and got mad at another person for coming whom apparently "had been seen mining Pal alone, so they can't do the callouts because they are only for people who share" It made me really uncomfortable, this went on for a while arguing back and forth. Guys, some people don't have time to wait for others. There aren't rules saying you MUST ALWAYS wait for others. I literally have to look over my shoulder a bunch of times while mining because I am afraid someone is going to get mad at me. I don't have tons of time to wait and if I see a tiny/small Pal, I will break it and move on.... but it puts me on edge that I feel I have to watch my back for fear of being harassed about it. Just let people be, its a game and your rules might not be everyone's rules. JS, More will spawn.

Based on this message, the best bait to use in order to get waterlogged chests is the glow worm. In my recent experience, I got exactly 0 chest while using them (while fishing all night, approx 4 hours), and right after I switched back to the basic worms, I found like 3 in a row.

There's always only 8 nodes of Palium at a time, so it doesn't matter in that sense. If anything the change will encourage people to call out Palium more often, specifically those who would not have the patience to wait around, they can just mine and then call out and move on anyway.

Also; "Mine nodes together" achievement just got a whole lot easier

That way you can mine efficiently and not waste time for palium without gems

But I do think that it will have an effect on the respawn of palium but we will have to see how long palium takes to despawn

Every time I mention that I get jumped on to plug a keyboard into my dock. I play handheld, I’m not messing around with switching between my controller and keyboard. That will be way more of a pain! I just play the way I feel like at the time - if I’m solo playing I will flare lg pal and throw a little note in chat with the time I’m breaking but I don’t wait around forever. I don’t usually go to others when they call out unless I’m actively doing the same because that feels unfair to me

Hopefully this new way of pal spawning will make that easier too

Hi. I tested the new Mining so you don't have to: Mining loot is now different : The first time a node is broken, all players who interacted with it get the same loot. Once it’s broken the loot will ‘change’ for the next set of players who break it while it starts to ‘count down’ to its despawn timer. The timer will cause the ‘aura’ to appear (after a few moments) and the flickering will begin to warn you of the full despawn incoming.

unfortunately no one has been waiting today so not hitting it when you see it leads exactly to the situation you are describing. you can’t know if someone hit it a few min before and i lost several like this. sadly most people aren’t bothering to call them or even flare today, and people have been sniping groves without sharing even when the rest of the server is looking for them promptly. i hope it’s just a passing phase, but that was my experience today on several severs.

Best tip I read was to wait to reel in. If you see the epic fish or hard to find fish let it go the first time. Then eat a sushi and drink a fisherman brew. Equip your hook and then reel in on the second bite.

I'm not really sure I like the way mining works now. People are less likely to stick around to mine together, so the weekly goal will be harder to get. This is also resulting in pal being harder to find, even when someone shouts it out, I often end up getting there too late.

Also, it's disheartening to be running up to a flashing node, only for it to disappear as you swing your axe. 😞 It's worse than if there was no node there at all.

it probably depends on play style and I haven't been playing for that long but I got more palium yesterday after the update than I had in the whole week before. I don't really make specific mining trips so I feel the new system benefits mining while being there for other things

it will depend on your server for your mining experience. had a group just before i got a full bag that worked well together (until the grove, but that's another story). got 93 ores from the run. It's helpful really, that the nodes stay a bit longer after the first group mines it. I have experienced the torment of seeing a flashing node and the moment you swing your pickaxe it disappears, but compared to how many pal ore i got before compared to now? i feel it's better.

the only thing that i would like, is if you hit the node before it disappears, it resets the timer for hitting, or allows you to complete the mining before leaving

it's an epic fish, they're going to be harder to catch. if you don't want to waste the glow worms you can recast your line. wait until the fish bites and you'll have a few moments to see if it's what you want/need. if not, let it disappear and then reel the rod in and recast. you won't lose your worms. if it was one you need, leave the rod in the water and the fish will continue to bite until you reel in the rod

does the logic that mining all nodes increase the spwan chance of pal still apply?

that already hasn't applied for a while. i don't know if this is still true as of the latest patch, but certainly until this patch, there were 8 palium nodes on the map at any one time - 2 big, 3 medium, 3 small. breaking one would cause another of the same size to spawn elsewhere almost immediately. so breaking iron and stone doesn't do anything except free up that space for a palium to spawn there after someone breaks a palium somewhere else

oh my goodness. I've been reading older posts, and it's a majority of 200+ worms and many many hours and then a small smattering of people who get the void ray with less than 10 worms.

the grove is the flow tree grove that spawns each in game night at midnight! it is in bahari bay and will be typically be anywhere from 4 - 8 trees. its an easy way to get reliable flow wood

I just had a node which refused to 'ghost' after being mined. I could still use my pickaxe on it but it stayed with a full bar. I already had the loot though so probably just a minor glitch. Anyone saw something similar ?

Just double checking - does each person have to break the pal fully for the loot, or is it still one hit per person when sharing?

Cause I've definitely called out, flared, and broken large pals before and see the ghost as intended, but I've also seen people still tap a node.

if you each hit it once to break it youll get the samme loot, if you break t fully solo then another person does the loot is dfferent

1 tap still works as long as its broken before it disappears

alot of people still dont know about or understand the mining changes ive seen

Anyone else feel like fishing has been nerfed in some way with the patch. Even with brew and exquisite pole it seems much harder to bring them in . Also the climbing mechanic seems more broken than before. Also , as others have said, not a fan of the new mining changes.

Yes it wasn't a jab at you, I know plenty of sites (including the wiki iirc) use morning, evening. I just don't get why. I got used to dawn, dusk because I was using peepy's fishlist and it's consistent with the game lore, I like it more.

I like morning and evening more because they refer to longer periods of time. Dawn and dusk are just brief periods by definition

Has anyone ever caught. TWO flametongue rays?? I caught a starred flametongue ray before I knew it was part of a bundle. I’ve been fishing like crazy to get another one for the bundle, but I’ve been working at it a while. I’m not trying to give my star version up lol.
