I found them in a cave with water. There were hotspots to show you can fish there... in the mines/caves in the Bahari Bay area.

I kept finding Palium and didn't have the right pick to mine it. Now that I have the better pick, I can't find it D:

I was hoarding them as a joke and now I can't let go of them! I have still not seen a single emerald again since the nerf (most of these were mined just before the nerf).

Since nerf I am only found garnets, with the occasional Citrine and Quartz, found 1 Aquamarine since as well...

Woodcutting isnt the skill its foraging

Foraging is with cooking because you use forage for cooking

I believe they wanted to minimize the number of channels and paired skills based on if they were related (used materials from one for the other) as well as keeping the size of the channels (in terms of expected active participants) roughly equal.

I thought that Iron was really hard to find until I started snooping around for Palium... and now I realize there is so much iron. I can finally craft the Fine Fishing Rod, and one other Fine tool with what I scrounged up.

It was about the amount of chat anticipated, I think. Gardening has a lot of chat and would drown out other topics, and at the time of channel creation mining didn't have starstones so it was low chat and could fit well with fishing which had more chat but not as much as gardening, for example. :)

They did say the channels could get split up further in future, depending on need as things change :)

smashing nodes ie; Palium / Clay / Iron / Copper / Iron / Stone all have a chance to drop a star stone. (Palium nodes can drop Ruby or Amethyst... Clay or Stone nodes can drop Citrine and so on)

Note: The drop rates were nerfed HARD recently.. so the rarer stones are very scarce now! Garnet and Quartz are easy to find as they are uncommon but the others are all higher rarities.

Fun fact: I haven't made tools higher than iron. I can still break and chop everything with iron axe and pick, and it because it takes a few more hits to fully break things I find it easier to work in a group :) (one day, maybe, I'll make palium tools hehe but not yet)

So here's the trick... Fish all spots at one location and run to other location, fish all spots, then run back to first location as quickly as possible. The fish spots will have respawned. Repeat till you run out of bait or you break the rod

If you don't find any spots just wait 10 seconds and run back

I am not sure if palium is really "farmable" anymore. They made a change where palium can spawn anywhere iron spawns. (I am not sure that means it specifically spawns where you have just destrpyed iron or if you destroy iron then some random place on the map that would spawn an iron now spawns a palium ore - they werent really clear on that.)

Also I have definetly seen rock spawn where iron spawns so idk if there is overlap in the spawn type locations but it is confusing.

the old iron spawn points could spawn either iron or stone, just like the palium spawn points could spawn palium or stone. The new nodes can spawn iron, stone or palium. They are all over Bahari, and they don't refresh very quickly. I'm trying to figure out the refresh patterns, but many are longer than an hour, so that's a lot of time for one observation. In the meantime, mine everything, it'll give that area a better chance of spawning palium whenever that refresh happens. As far as I can tell nothing is spawning at most of the old palium spawn points.

It no longer spawns in a way that makes farming possible, They changed it so it randomly spawns among the nodes that used to be iron or stone. And the spawn rate for that seems static. Not entirely sure, cuz its also super slow... I've waited an hour for a patch of iron nodes to respawn.

Best places to fish for highest profit? I fish mostly with regular worms, but want to make the most of my fishing time!

Fishing is quite balanced I believe, so you can fish anywhere, but you can pay attention to the bubble nodes and maybe sell star fish + fish with someone

Important thing is to fish bubble spots as star quality fish sell for I think 50% more than the non-star version. Kilima river/lake pathing is pretty profitable regardless of bait type given the distance between bubble node hot spots.

Alternatively, if you catch NON-star quality fish and cook them over the campfire into grilled fish, then you can get a 50% boost in value of the fish in cooked form if you get star quality cook. Cooking 2 fish adds their values together, but if you get star quality cook then you get basically an extra fish worth of value when you sell the cooked ones, but that takes a lot of tedious effort to cook dozens of fish.

Hmm, are you talking about the auto-fail bug? I think the reel line disappears with that one, too. Yes a bug, no workaround I know of . File bug reports and pray they fix it.

I noticed when I used the ore compass last night I was finding more Palium nodes(small ones) than I did just running around looking in general locations they spawn in

Also noticed that even after the buff expires any mining markers that it was still showing will remain until mined or you leave the map (I traveled a good distance away and the markers didn't disappear so I'm assuming they disappear if leaving the map as a whole)

Good idea. There should be something to mine in there. And palium is so hard to find. I went around for almost 2 hours yesterday and only managed to find 5 palium and that's mostly because I got lucky coming across a large node and posted in chat so that others came and helped. I’d say Crystal lake because the fishing nodes there respawn pretty fast and you get more exp if you fish in the bubble spots

Plus it’s super easy to server hop once you use all your nodes, you can just go into the underground and back out

If on PC you throw your fishing rode by holding the right bottom on the mouse and then let it. When you threw your fishing rode, after some time the fish will start making blopping sounds and then there will be some ringing noise, which imply you have to hold the right bottom on the mouse again. there appears an area, where you have to keep your bobber (not the fish) by moving your mouse and holding the right bottom until the fish is caught

It only matters which worms you use. When you use none you’ll fish the fish you can fish without worms just starred, if fishing with normal worms, you’ll get random fish, which you can get with them, but starred and so on. You sometimes randomly get chests

Each bait/no bait has its own set of common, uncommon and rare fish you can catch. The bubbles/spots let's you fish a starred one of the bait your using. Plus higher chance of getting a waterlogged chest which will give you makeshift furniture

yeah, cooked foods give more glow worms, however, you have to counter with how much work you have to put into the farm along with how much money you potentially will lose per glow worm, but if money nor time is an issue then cooked food is the way to go

now, while others may say that it's a waste of guild coins, since you can make the glow worms in your farm, you can also spend 10 fishing coins to get 20 glow worms if you wanted to go that route in a pinch

but the weekly challenges for fishing are extremely easy to accomplish

before you get glow worm farm if you've been given a glow worm before, you can just request glow worms and recast with them so they last a little longer :P that is, if you're looking for specific fish, if gold was the option then recast for the highest gold fish available maybe 🤔

I just don't like that they wont let us have apples until level 10, but can't get the best until apples and blueberries. It also takes an hour to make glow worms, so you have to wait hours for little glow worms, and yet we need them for rare fish. It just doesn't seem great imo

i'm looking at the palia wiki under the glow worm farm page which has a list of almost all items that can be used in the farm. placing the glow worm output from highest to lowest, the "best" cooked food that doesn't take a lot of items to make (at only three ingredients and two of which you can buy from either the general store or Badruu's register by the farm along with any fish) is the elusive sashimi (badari rivers/no bait). it gives 3 glow worms and 15 harvest boost fertilizers. everything above that, to me, seems like a lot of trouble

Fishing is quite balanced, so it doesn’t really matter where, but you can search for bubbly circle areas (sorry, I forgot what it’s called) to get starred fish, which costs more than the regular one

Not really. The changes to Palium node spawning that was supposed to make it more accessible to people actually made it much harder to stock up on.

Yea... there's no one spot where palium just spawns naturally now. So you have to clear out all the mining nodes in an area (including stone) and then wait for it all to respawn. If you're lucky, you might get one or two palium nodes. Then do it again. It's way more time consuming.

All around the edges of the cliff faces in Bahari (top and bottom), any route will do. Palium spawns in exactly the same places as iron and stone. Stone blocks everything else from spawning, iron also blocks palium. So mine everything to boost the chances of Palium spawning back in. The stone and iron will only despawn when the server is reset on patch days.

anyone struggling to find any palium? i thought it was supposed to be easier now, i got 2 nodes aka a single ore in 24 hrs (in-game time)... its either not spawning or its constantly getting looted, any tips would be appreciated. i've tried following the interactive map and also just looking around when during my bug hunt, no dice so far

Litterally everyone has to clear the stone and the iron or else the spawn rate for palium plummets. People don't want to do that, so yes, it's hella harder to get Palium than it used to be. Also, just go around the edges, top and bottom, of all the cliffs to where stone and iron normally spawn, palium can be in any of these locations depending on RNG and whether people do their part.

It feels like people are less incentivised to call out palium since starstones as well and it hasn't improved since they changed the spawn locations. Also a side rant, it's much harder to remember every medium/large iron spawn than it is to remember all of the old Palium spawn locations.

I'd say one of the few positives from making palium able to spawn at any iron ore location is that ore compasses actually have a use now.

It seems like S6 is faced with the decision whether they want palium to actually be a "rare" resource which gives palium furniture and craftables more merit and not just an easy upgrade; making mining more competitive, or having Palium nodes be how they were where you could easily mine a stack of 100 ore in under half an hour bouncing between the spawns; which would make the game more casual-friendly.

from my experience the servers i get on are full and i see plenty of people farming iron... the places where only or mostly palium spawns are completely empty, and ive also been farming rocks as i use them to make buzz jars. still nothing, i also tried changing servers. i kinda regret building furniture with palium, i can't resupply now ... and i've also noticed players are not calling out palilum since the update, i assume because it's supposed to be easier to find for everyone

Since S6 changed things, there are no dedicated palium spawn points anymore. The large concentration spawns are blanks now. Palium is an RNG spawn at any other rock node in Bahari sharing with iron and stone. Stone has highest spawn rate, then iron then palium. There are no dedicated spawns for size or type either. So it's just how lucky you are to stumble on something as you run along cliff edges. I've gotten anywhere from zero to 45 nuggets per mining session depending on if others have cleared out stone/iron before me, how long I spend out there and if others are generous to call out and they are close to me. Players aren't generally calling it out because it is scarce now and no one wants to wait 15 to 20 mins for people to show up. That's 15 mins that you can be running around looking for another node. You also don't need a helper to mine it, unlike the larger trees. S6 really messed this up for the newer players coming in on the switch.

I find if I run laps of the entire map looking for iron and palium, I'm very luck-dependent on if someone's come before me. If I stick to a smaller area, say a quarter of the map, and run smaller laps mining, interspersed with foraging, hunting, bug catching, etc. I can actually start to tell when new nodes are spawning, sometimes even seeing them pop in. Far, far easier to mine palium if you have "your" section that you keep tabs on.

i have farming routine starting with bugs, flow trees and palium if i find any while bug hunting, then during the day i farm animals and again ores if i see any i need. the first buzz jar runs out around the time the grove spawns to its perfect

I do similarly, but north Bahari. I usually get 300 iron, a bunch of starstones, mushrooms, sweet leaf, bugs, stone, flint, and a random amount of palium. It was 26 this last time, zero the time before that and 39 the time before that one. And I similarly run around 12 to 15 in game hours.

yeah, you didn't get the two green brackets around the bobber so you know where to keep the bobber to reel in the fish. It is a known bug. The only way to fix it is to zone out of the area you are in, and zone back in. So go back to your home plot and come back out to Kilima Valley. It should fix it until it does it again. Then just repeat the fix.

New Rule: Don't break stones.

Why? It used to be there were a limited number of spots for palium to spawn into, and removing the stones made it possible for more new spawns to happen. But there are waaaaaay more potential spawn points for the new iron/pal/stone mix than potential spawns. Those 20-30 pal spawns we used to move around the pal spawns now have hundreds of potential locations. Breaking the stone spawns is putting them into the spawn queue, when really we only want more of the good stuff. Palium, maybe some iron.

I'm getting much better results since I stopped breaking stones.

I've been on a server where people weren't breaking the stone. There was NO palium to be seen, only iron or stone. Eventually if you do this, you'll have a server of only stone since stone is the priority in the spawn list. The only way stone despawns is the day S6 does a server update and everything resets. It is up to us to control the amount of stone/ore on a server. Just farm everything out of a smaller controlled area, and wait for respawns. It's a much more efficient method.

This no longer works. The entire set of iron/pal/stone nodes is available to the entire Bahari map. I've tried doing small controlled areas since the pal spawn change, and consistently had to wait 30 minutes to an hour for those locations to respawn. Because there are roughly 2x as many spawn locations as nodes and the map is spawning at all the empty places, in the order in which they were broken by people who were active on the map before you arrived.

Your interpretation of not seeing palium is incorrect. The pool of palium nodes is constant. If you don't see any, they've spawned in far away places or unreachable locations. If you want to find more palium while in Bahari, find the pal nodes and break them, so they respawn more often than the other resources. Don't stay in one spot, range further and look more carefully than you have before.

I can discuss why I am so confident of this in DMs.

I also dislike it when people give me advice I haven't asked for. But here's the context: People frequently ask for advice on how to gather more palium in Bahari, both here and in game. I used to tell people to break all the stones. I no longer believe in that strategy, for the reasons I listed, and am getting better results focusing on breaking rock types I want to see again.

My new strategy for mining is never break stones. But that doesnt' mean there aren't reasons to break them. Starstones are much more common in stones, and even the cheaper starstones are worth more per item than any of the ores.

Stone is also very useful for early-midgame players looking to build on their plot or for people crafting glass. It seems counterintuitive that Palium is also connected to stone spawns when there are literally hundreds of stone spawns on the map in addition to iron spawns. Even if you individually choose not to break stone, that doesn't mean other players aren't going to be looking for stone and messing with the potential palium spawns.

I feel like this issue could be addressed by putting static medium/large palium spawns in their old locations, but letting them respawn slower to incentivize players calling them out and also having palium be able to potentially spawn in iron ore locations BUT make it so that ore compasses only point to palium locations.

It just seems like a mistake to make it more difficult to mine palium ore AND keep releasing new furniture/tools that use palium bars.

I would imagine the reasoning is that it keeps people playing the game longer. A lot of people will continue to play even after they have achieved their goals, but some will put the game down once their goals are achieved.

Yep, I see where you're coming from. I think the main problem is that they started with high rates and then decreased them. Most people dislike "nerfs". Seen the same happen in some recent ARPGs, where people did a lot of damage and then the developers decided to buff monster health and lower damage numbers. It would be interesting to see what the switch players think of the palium rates and whether or not they are too low.

as a switch player and missing all of the amazing things that happened before things were nerfed... me, personally, am alright with how some things work while not so pleased with other things. i'm a solo player, so cake parties and cooking parties are not something i'm interested in. the palium outputs are... okay, i guess. when i'm actively looking for them i tend to hit the northern part of bahari and i can find on an active hunt trip anywhere from 3-23 ores, with an average of around 5-15 simply because i got sidetracked with collecting fish or bugs

Yeah I mine a lot and got a bit dissuaded after the nerf. While I understand their possible reason for nerfing it, it does detract from the community aspects of the game a bit. As mentioned before, people are less likely to call out palium nodes now when it's just one here and there, as opposed to it being like 4-5 nodes in a generally small area. I think the solution you mentioend is a good idea, in keeping the old locations of palium but at lower respawn rate, while simultaenously having palium appear elsewhere in single nodes.

I also think groves were an absolutely fantastic idea for flow wood. Spawn at set times. People tend to wait so everyone gets participation. Even though I'm sure it would take a lot of work S6 could do something similar for Palium. Make certain areas into "Palium Mines" at certain times of the day. I imagine it would have to be a few times a day since unlike flow trees, palium nodes do not regenerate when struck.

I think there are some cool ideas they could implement. I personally think it would be cool if they added some kind of asteroid event that happened occasionally, which would impact and create a zone similar to the grove. That could be a unique ore that regenerates like the flow trees.

I see alot of people complaining a liol bit about palium being hard to find , and only player for a week or so i rly disagre....what it usualy works for me though is when i find a palium spawn i mine it and then look around that area... in my experience palium seems to spawn decently close to other palium nodes...and after i find my first palium of the batch i usualy satrt looking for more palium and in 15 or 20 min i will end up with 30 to 40 palium ore

the server must have been so full to many nodes were mined and palium spawned in random places or something like that... i have my theorie that if during morning and day of in game time palium spawns more and that since people usualy mine big areas of iron nodes it makes it spawn neatly toghether...but i do agree on 1 thing...it does mean that when a few people find palium and mine it there will be now next to nothing for others..making it rarer...thats why when i wanna mine palium i start looking for it right after 2 am in game and stay a while there up until 11 or 12

@shrewd trail I think when they added starstones and increased the spawns of Palium by 60% a few patches ago it kind of ruined the manners around Palium mining becuse it was faster to just mine it and let it respawn than to wait on people. The meta is now completely different for Palium but the attitude towards mining it hasn't changed.

S6 kind of pulled the rug out from everyone when they decided "You know what would be great? Removing the static palium locations, making it spawn less, and making it able to spawn ANYWHERE there is stone/iron. Yeah, people will love that. Oh, also we're reducing the value of all starstones by 50%+" (Which is the part I think was actually necessary)

I'll be honest, I joined right before the palium got changed, and I didnt get to feel how it was before. So far I noticed that you can get a reasonable amount of palium if people still work together and call it out; its just that people stopped responding and calling, whichever was first. No omw, nor I'll pass. For most of my time when I go around for palium all is fine, as long as there is communication. But the problem is, the communication stopped. Idk whether people suddenly felt like they dont need resources anymore, or was it prompted by the switch release. One way or another, these things all together led to the downfall of the calling practice, and in my experience this is the bigger problem than the spawn itself.

It might be a mix of things to be honest. I don't have a switch but I heard typing/communicating on switch is a nightmare. Plus I think the fantasy that people will have good communication on an MMO isn't what content should be built around. There are a good number of players who want to only play solo/not interact with other players for various reasons. I try to be courteous but I also understand that not everybody feels the same way that I do.

Palia has by far the best community I've seen in an MMO so far, but that doesn't mean you won't get some selfish players who only think about themselves when it comes to resources. And in a game where cooperation is encouraged but not necessarily incentivized, that is a big problem like you said.

the best way is probably to do it in a small team/party - if you find a note, everyone strikes it just once before taking it down -this way you multiply the loot - like a party of 3, 6 eyes spot nodes more likely

from my experience, nodes tend to appear in clusters in certain areas, not unlike copper notes in the other region - they appear in other areas as well, but much more rarely.
