i dont know anything about crafters yet , i do not plan to have any for now
seed collectors are crafters to
so which layout would u recommend for a beginner when i get 9 tiles ?
u mean 9 soils?
yeah 9 soils
mh ur really low level huh lemme see
yeeah less than 50h
pls help with 100% water retain for pumpkin, beans, and cotton. ty <33
this one buyt hte carrots and bokchoi replace those with cotton
also u can replace potato/cabbage with tomato at will aslong as they have their water retain buddy
corn and rice same story but with rice
so its corn - potato - cotton and cabbage right?
cabbage jar
now im kinda confused 😂 so many possibilities , lets make it simple if u were completely new right now how would ur layout be ?
taking into aaccount when u dont have any seed maker or anything yet
the one i sent but i would replace hte weedblock buffs bokchoi carrot with only cotton
like potato cabbage combo is for water retain that could also be tomato potato or tomato cabbage
rice and corn could also be rice wheatr or wheat corn for example
nvm i make one slightly more beginner friendly then 😉
yeah please , i get that u prob have tons of possibilities but just something simple yet effective for very new players would be appreciated
also last question for now , when i can harvest the crops its best to just sell em for now and rebuy seeds right?
ok so put ur soils in a straight line and repeat this pattern so middle line water retain
above harvy boost pair cotton cotton repeat
bottom lane cotton cotton harvy boost pair
if u can make seeds just make ur own seeds buying them is alsways more epxensive by alot
yeah cant do that yet
well then u just have to sell it andbuy seeds till u can cuz it saves alot
yeah i thought so , thanks for ur help
yw
ah lol just to make sure when u say a straight line with the layout u gave me , u mean fron left to right not from top to bottom right? 😂😂
i mean rotate it mirror it its the same layotu to me
so then it would go from top to bottom basicially
well i send hte link place it however u want 😄
yeah im bit lost but thanks 😂
Does speedygro actually not work at all? I read I must be in my plot at 6am for it to apply so I'm doing that but I'm not sure it's speeding anything. :/
Needs to proc twice before it skips one tick for a plant do useless for tomatos for example
By proc twice you mean I need to apply it two hours in a row before I should see a growth skip?
Yes 2 growthticks
Okay thanks. 🙂
That's such a weird way to implement it though. :/
does anyone know if preserved starred blueberries or preserved starred batterbeans make more money?
batterbeans are MUCH, MUCH better as seeds, if you have the time to process them, but even as preserves they are a little better than blueberries when you take blueberries' longer grow time into account. It's not a huge difference, though.
(45.8 gold per tile per tick for preserved beans vs. 44 for preserved blueberries)
beans as seeds are 101 gold per tile per tick, but like bok choy, your throughput is limited by the long processing time, unless you don't log much playtime relative to your idle time (though they run for up to 62 hours unattended)
I planted my first apple tree. It grew to the size of a tree and isn’t producing fruit. It’s been 8 days. Shouldn’t it produce fruit every 3 days?
12 18 24 30
Oh! Grock told me 3 days. Thank you 🙏
idk who grock is but he was wrong for sure
oh wel u cannot use aichats for stuff like this they dont work like that
Gotcha
My pumpkins have water retain but are still needing to be watered
which items are better as seeds vs preserves?
stuff u cannot preserve
bokchoi potato beans
So turn potato into seeds then sell?
If you leave them harvestable for longer than one in-game day, they need to be watered again - could that be what is happening?
Thank you
Wot the heck is the point of water retain then
Well I guess for the initial growth phase
I still hate it
The alternative is having to water EVERY day instead of maybe every other day
¯_(ツ)_/¯
True. Its prob always worked that way I just havent played in a bajillion years
Yep, has always worked that way... happens with tomatoes, apples, blueberries, etc. too
I guess the way I think about it is that if I am home and NOT zipping through my garden to harvest the multi-harvest plants, then watering a maximum of 4 times is probably still better than watering 15 times 😂 or 10 times for tomatoes, or whatever
Ya I would never have anything grown haha
the alternative is u burn water retain fert like crazy when u use it and forget to harvest
which would still be better since for example plant 3 day crop water it first grows retains once grows its already harvestable so why care if it still has water retain this means bokchoiu only needs one water retain fert for example
anyways it was a choice the devs made
we also got layotus for poeple who hate farming
It was simply that I didnt recall they needed to be watered after a harvest lol its been a long time
I just got done making some farm plots for new guys. Would this be a place to share them. Nothing Fancy just 100% water and weed coverage
Im just gonna go ahead and drop them and if they need to be deleted Ill go from there. I made a 6x6, 9x9, and 9x9 with tree and bushes. Nothing special but its 100% water and weed retaining and prevention. Simple enough with most started seeds
im a lazy farmer so if i can set it and forget it im all about that
also i dont like having to refrence charts over and over to see where this and that needs to go just want simple symetrical alternations and easy to remember
yeay ease of plantin is vlaueble to
wait at what level do poeple get seed maker again?
I think its like 6?
ok so before level 5 stocking up on star stuff for star seeds in not important yet as u have to sell it due to money deficit ok good to know after that till like lv 10 quality up matters alot after that harvest boost matters wayy more then
i should just make another newby guide but il do it once i get bored
I would argue that quality up starts mattering less once you gain the ability to plant starred seeds, especially if you've got a set of starred crops ready to go in the seed collector as soon as you unlock it.
because all of a sudden you have a higher chance for quality crops than you did before
yeay but need to get starred seeds first
Of course! What I'm thinking is that until level 5, a quality up boost on a plant in your garden holds more weight in terms of how much difference it makes with your star rate, because you're forced to plant unstarred, bought seeds.
...hm. Something is funky with the planner's star rate calculations right now.
It's returning zero starred produce from unstarred seeds below level 10, which doesn't seem at all correct...
I need a new garden layout that you don’t have to water or deweed and has fertilizer??
fertslurper3000?
Ty I will try this.
Wow! Thanks, it will be helpful for me too! 🥰
it does consume ALOT of fertiliser
excess meats shrooms and some grilled fish or maybe even jarred produce(not apple jam that gives Quality Up fert) would help keep u stocked up
i am trying to midmax profit withput having to water after planting, thoughts on this layout?
my farming is also 55
i dont think pumpkins are that much money and you do not need quality up boost anymore at your level that layout also uses alot of fertiliser while u didnt maxout on harvestboost
pumpkins are def worth it but i'll mess around to get rid of all the harvest boosts
but more harvest boost is always better dont get rid of it
really? i thought they were super low and their buf is useless if ur level is high enuf to always get starred crop anyways
I can’t figure out how to water . Can someone help please
I would also love to hear why pumpkins are “def worth it” since my data shows them as being really bad.
i havent really looked at what dishes they are for maybe they are super good in that regard but idk yet
big chance i am not right, but if my math is right i make way more with canned and jarred pumpkins and batteryfly beans then i ever did with 4 apple trees
and i dont rewater or weed, so i am looking for a lazy easy way to make the most bang for my buck
idk it used to be easier to check but gardenplanner got changed nd now i dont really know how to use the calcs well 😦
yeah im struggling too, it states i'll make 200k in total with pumpkins and beans where i use to only make 95K with apples
i'm gonna test it out for a week and see if it holds true
Pumpkins according to my data at https://www.aqajj.net/palia-notes seems to be worse than apples unless you have roughly less than 20 crafters.
Beans on the other hand are looking to be really good and could be where you’re really making your money. It has its pros and cons against bok choy
Those settings are not equal. One has way more days and a higher level.
oh shoot you're right! it just auto set the harvests
We like to set it to 180 to give everything time to equal out. Thanks Ren
does anyone know if the crops buff themselves or just the crops around them 😅
just the crops adjacent to them directly and it can't be a crop of the same type, ex: carrots and carrots
I'll preface this by saying I'm new to the game. Any reason why I would want to use regular fertilizer on ⭐ seeds planted?
Hey. Without mim/max whats a good early/mid tier crop to make some $$$
Does level impact your crop quality??
** Palia Garden Planner mini-update (0.4 now)**
- Major oversight fixed, crops under level 25/unstarred now rounds properly. Huge thanks to Ren for seeing this, my apologies for not noticing sooner. Lower level layouts are most affected by this change, most should now see an increase in starred crops
- Save codes are now
0.4, Battery Beans changed fromBb -> Btto not trigger this server's 10-char repetition automod - Harvests-by-day re-added, but currently focused towards harvests and not produce
- Export to Image re-added
The changes this month has had notable instabilities, so please feel free to report any issues or provide feedback/suggestions as I work towards whacking the planner's code
Yeah, each level of gardening specifically should increase your chances of harvesting quality crops by 2%
Depends on layout, some configurations make it difficult for some tiles/crops to get a specific bonus, ferts will cover one boost for you since they apply directly, instead of needing certain crops adjacent to it.
Corner tiles for example can only get 2 buffs at most from adjacent tiles, getting a third boost requires you to apply fertiliser
Which fertilizer does "regular fertilizer" refer to?
Also I am on mobile for the next day or so, hopefully not longer, so I won't have my usual access to spreadsheets and the garden planner
I may just take the opportunity to take a break entirely, tbh
Can you no longer produce speedy grow fertilizer?
Nope u can waste medals in guild store to get them though
Hey everyone! can someone recommend a garden setup for new players? (below garden lvl 10)
This is what I used just for cooking and some money content
thanks!
Quality Up fert
How did you get so much quality up fert at ur level?
must have some very happy
s
cakes is what I used, but you can craft it with enough hard work/teaming up with someone running honey lures (like at a bug plush hunt)
Cakes in a glow worm farm are much easier though
(from a party, obviously)
Kinda surprised to c low levels attending partys already
When it was sold 3 years ago lol
The game hasn't been out for 3 years? Closed beta started in August 2023 o_O
It hasn't even been 2 years, unless I misunderstood something
I'm not! We see folks at parties all the time who were invited by friends or directed to PPA here who are under 10 cooking level
Plenty of free roles to cover, too
Do crops only grow when your online? I have an apple tree and some berry bushes i planted before sleeping and put like 5-6 hydro fertilizer on each plant and came back online after about 10 hours (so roughly 9-10 in game days I think?) And my tree and bushes haven't grown much at all and my hydro fertilizers are still there.
Growthticks 0600 palian time when online and one time after
Theres a having 9 knapweed nothing grows even sruff without weed bug
So it only grows one more time if you're offline? Damn.
What's good to plant next to batterfly bean seeds? 🌿
Something to harvy boost it and something to water it
more batterfly beans 😛
so is there any new max profit layout since the new crops?
Havent been playing for a long time and just returned with the update. Still doing it all with apple trees and blueberry bushes 😄
Thank you in advance!
Hi, anyone can suggest a good crop pattern for cooking and money? I'm level 5 in gardening
I don't mean to respond with radio silence but I'm on mobile only for the time being - there is a lot of info posted in this channel if you check the pins, scroll up, and or search :)
If you're looking for cooking profits, haven't done that math yet (I assume all that fruit was for cakes, fruit is not good for solo profit)
Thank you I guess I will do some math and planning on the weekend 😄
Search minmax in the channel for a list I shared :) might have some options; also "cash crops"
and îf you search images, I posted an updated ranking of crops by profit per tile per tick
And please share your analysis! :D
haha I don´t know if this is going to be usefull 😄 I have not been the past palia gardening planner so far but it always worked out for me in the end. But I will let you know if I found some good ideas 😄
😊
question do the crops that give a quality increase to adjacent crops stack with star crop seeds? or does only one work at a time
stacks with star seeds and level
Thanks!
if the fertilizer dissappears whiile growing do i need to replace it
it dont do stuff unles its there on growhttick if the plant grows
now i did have timetravel layouts that went back in time ...
Does rice not prevent weed for adjacent crops?
No it’s harvest boost, carrots, onions and bok choy prevent weeds
Oh, sorry. A bit of confusion. I meant wont bokchoy prevent weeds for its own tile?
No, nothing works for its own tile and the same crop won’t work on the same crop, so 2 bok choys next to each other won’t weed prevent each other, you’d need an onion (or carrot) and bok choy
I see. Thank you
More apple
what do yall do with your non starred crops? i basically just use starred seeds (except for cotton) and know that eventually it'll stop giving me regular crops altogether, so is it worth keeping some on hand?
i havent played in months and with these new crops, im trying to figure out what i can clear out for storage lmao
I cook food with them 🤷 or use for worms
Whats the best way to level farming? like below level 10
You only level up by harvesting crops, and increasing your focus percentage at the Phoenix Shrine will help level that skill faster. Harvesting high value crops (like apples) will level that skill pretty quickly.
At the risk of sounding stupid lol, when those plans say days of harvest does that mean in game or irl?
in game
Ooooh
Can I put seeds in my friend's seed collector for them to have seeds I have?
Hello. It's been a while since I last played. What's the current optimal layout?
And, again, they should really increase the amount of farming plots we can buy.
All crops give the same XP per tile per growth tick, so while apples store up XP into a big chunk, they take time growing to do it. You can plant anything you want, and as long as you harvest and replant it on time, it will earn you XP just as fast :D
Optimal will depend on your goals, needs, and preferences :) What do you want your garden to do for you?
Gardening is very tightly balanced as a powerful source of passive income, so this is unfortunately highly unlikely to happen.
That's kind of you, but nope, you cannot interact with any other player's crafters. Only their storage chest, worktable, and cooking stations, which will pull from your own storage.
is there a good leveling up gardening plot layout, Im level 39 gardening but i wanna farm tokens xD and would like it to be water retain and no weeds
Hmm, passive income while being semi-active at it.
That's true, but it would be nice to have more varieties in the garden aside from just a few. Maybe they can balance the prices of the crops, or something so we can have more farm plots. But I know a lot of people will get mad at me for just saying that 😅
There are several layouts that include every crop currently in the game, if that would do what you want, but they won't be optimized for gold, since they would include the utility crops.
What do you guys think of this layout?
Uses:
-Make Lures with the Apples
-Pickle Potatoes for selling
-Sell Bok Choy and Tomatoes
I havent played in a while so this might be a bit outdated
Any 100% water/weed layout will be good for leveling, as all crops give the same XP per tile per growth tick! (as we were discussing just a few posts above yours)
What else would you like your garden to do for you?
Seems alright, though I think you would probably do well to weave some harvest boost in there. +50% yield is no joke.
I would process your potatoes into seeds (120g per potato as seeds vs. 102g per potato as preserves), bok choy as seeds, and preserve your tomatoes for extra gold. No need to sell them raw if you have the crafter slots to make them print gold in your sleep.
bok choy as seeds you say...
Bok choy in particular about doubles in value as seeds.
fr?
Yep! what's a starred raw bok choy worth?
45, the seeds are 22
4 seeds per bok choy, 88g
Im gonna need a lot more seed machines....
ngl, ive been replanting my garden in all different ways so itll grow on its own (which it does with my current layout) make me money and be relatively cheap (excluding the apple tree)
Oh, hm, this layout still gets weeds on some tiles, doesn't it
Here's a quick comparison
Aforementioned Cross Layout, water weed and harvest boost:
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-T.HPRBkOWRWBk-OBkTPRPTWO-RBkT.HWOPBkWR-PTOBkRWOTP-AAAAAAAAA-PTOWRBkOTP-RWBkPOWT.HBkR-OWTPRPTBkO-BkWRWOBkRPT.H_D180L25Cr0.RS3-BkS5-TP2-OP2-WS2-PS3-CrP
Apple/bok choy/potato/tomato only, with adjustments for crop processing: https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk-AAAAAAAAA-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk-BkPTTBkPPTBk_D180L25Cr0.BkS6-PS4-TP3
Harvest boost is VERY powerful, haha
What level gardening are you currently?
If you would like to focus on leveling while reducing the amount of replanting labor, I'd recommend the 4-apple Diamond Layout, if you have no other preferences on what you want to grow. #🌱│gardening message
There's also a 5-apple version floating around that doesn't include harvest boost (which doesn't matter for leveling, but will knock your revenue down significantly unless you use fertilizer)
Ultimately, all that matters is that your garden does what you want it to do in a way you can manage sustainably, and, more importantly, that it makes you happy :)
(I use a weird, exceedingly mathematically non-optimal linear layout because it's what works for my brain)
Ohhhh, I am intrigued. Can you show me?
Hmm, I forgot. 29? It would be nice to level them to 50 hahaha.
I just wanna get levels fast to get more tokens xD which I understand isnt fast but, as fast as I can without having to manage it too much
Here are a few recent ones:
DuhScape's QR code Everything Garden: #🌱│gardening message
One by TuxCat: #🌱│gardening message
One by Astrea Moreno: #🌱│gardening message
One more by Tarina: #🌱│gardening message
There are probably more if you search for "4 bush" or "everything" in this channel plus has:link
lol and here's a weird one: #🌱│gardening message
Incidentally, it's cheaper to grow cash crops and buy fabric than to plant your own cotton (bok choy, potatoes, tomatoes, and rice all "grow" more fabric per tile per growth tick than cotton plants do). There isn't even an accomplishment for growing cotton xD
i’m finally going to plant some batterfly beans. does anyone have a 100% water retain & 100% weed prevention layout that i can refer too ?
How many bean seeds do you want to plant, and what else do you want to grow?
i got 13 seeds atm. i'll take whatever layout you can think of and other crops doesn't really matter to me right now as i'm trying to harvest as many beans as possible.
This one will accommodate 4 bean seeds and is 100% weeded/watered and harvest boosted:
#🌱│gardening message
There may be other layouts that will fit in more bushes, but they're kind of difficult to buff due to being 2x2
thank you!
Sure thing, just be sure to take off the extra fertilizer around the pumpkin plants (which give quality boost), since it will be redundant around the beans :)
Beans are best processed and sold as seeds, but they do take a long time
Crop buffs only apply to the crops planted next to them, not diagonal from them correct?
I am very new - level 6* gardening with all 9 plots. I don't want to completely min / max - could someone link a layout that works for both making gold, sustains itself with seeds from seed maker (can that happen?), etc?
yes directly adjacent not diagonal
also carrot and bokchoi give each other buffs and weedblock each other
but carrot cannot buff carrot for example
Can i put the fields elsewhere? I accidentally place the four I have in such a way that a 3x3 field won't fit...
Yes, as long as you don't have any multi-tile plants placed across the borders of two soil plots, you can grab them and move them anywhere you want. (If you do have a cross-plot plant, you'll need to either wait for it to finish growing and disappear or dig it out)
In order to pick them up and put them in your inventory (i.e., to move them to a totally different housing slot), they would need to be completely empty of seeds and fertilizer and untilled.
so, let the crops currently on it grow up, and wait for the tiles to fall fallow?
All crops produce more than is needed to make replanting seeds in the seed maker, so they are all self-sustainable if making your own seeds :) e.g., it may take 3 tomatoes to make 2 tomato seeds, but a tomato plant will produce at minimum 8 tomatoes (12 if harvest-boosted), and you only need 1 seed to replace the plant when it's gone.
Only if you want to completely pick them up and put them in your backpack. If you can shift them around where you want them without doing that, you don't have to
different housing slot?
I have them in front of my house, I would like them to be on the other side of it
Yes, you can purchase up to 10 housing slots that you can build different things on.
In this case you should be able to just grab them and move them like any other furnishing
I'll try that. Thanks!
For levels under 10, my favorite layout is the Bullseye, originally made by Khan the Windseeker:
#🌱│gardening message
It is 3 concentric rings with repeating patterns, then a set of 3 rows on the very center plot.
It uses all basic crops and is 100% weeded/watered, and almost 100% harvest boosted naturally. It can also adapt to grow any single-tile crops you like. (If you're planning to cook your own focus food solo, I recommend swapping out corn and putting in wheat for steak dinner.)
If you don't play too often during the week, though, this 4-bean layout may be better for you, as it is very good at filling idle time in seedmakers: #🌱│gardening message
Bean seeds are free if you can go forage Batterfly Beans in Elderwood (you can walk right in without needing to do any quests or anything!)
Hey, actually, I been meaning to ask. How do your tweaks to mine help towards better profit? Cause when I compare with mine the total profit actually goes down on the planner
planner is uhm its calc is stupid now
yeay like it goes by time per hour from the crafters but we cant even tell how much growhtticks we get in
Oh, I see
i mean i cannot draw any conclusions out of it the way it is rn
anyone got lazy beans layout or should i make one
Well if I go with total profit using all the same maker settings Ren did mine still comes as more profitable in the long run (cause my process time is longer, almost double)
Same without any makers settings
But then again, I don't understand how the math works with all the variables lol, I just look at overall profit when making layouts and aim for the highest I can get while still fitting my needs (100% water/weed and more rice than other grains)
To put it in a simple way, with the left layout (90 days processing), you'll only be able to get in two growth ticks per irl day before you saturate your processors. At that point you will have to sell the crops as is, meaning you'll get less gold per crop
In the right layout (45 days processing) you get four growth ticks per irl day
Since it is harder to reach the saturation point for your processors, it is less likely that you'll run into the issue of having to sell raw crops
Available growth ticks vary from player to player, as is one of the more complex variables to account for (the other being using crops for recipes to make money, in which case it just gets too complicated)
An easier approach to the first is to look at processors as "producing x gold per active time/hour" so you can seperate them out of the equation
In both layouts (assuming the same processors) those values will be static, so any difference in raw crop profit makes it easy to say which one is better
At that point you won't have a maximum of growth ticks before you hit saturation, but rather a minimum amount to deliberately hit saturation
As an example, bok choy and beans give very good processor value, but you'll hit saturation very quickly, meaning you will have to sell the rest unprocessed, so it somewhat balances it out
i feel like we should get more xp for gardening. just fertilizing and collecting isnt enough.
gardening is my highest level, I think. I don't feel like I garden more than other stuff, it's just a good money maker to always have something running.
what's the watering schedule for grow all out furniture? it doesn't seem to reset at 6AM game time like the trees and the gardening plants, but it doesn't seem to be one IRL day either.
From what I've been able to tell, for flowers and the furniture it's 60 IRL minutes since they were last watered
I'll look at it again, but it's very possible you're right!
thanks!
Are there tricks to planting the four-block crops across two garden plots? Sometimes it works for me and other times it doesn’t.
Other than to make sure that the plots really are fully snapped together, I'm not sure
and the tiles fully tilled ...
After this rotation of crops I will mess with it some more.
but u wouldnt be the first to not properly snap the soils
I've done it many times XD
I figured out what happened: it's because I had evened up the planting numbers (more corn/wheat, less rice), which was my original intention, since everything gardens are annoying to count seeds for. I also thought I was increasing the bok choy tiles, but apparently I didn't! 😬
So, you're right, yours is higher raw revenue and also higher processed revenue throughput due to the higher rice counts. Thanks for the double-check, and I will edit my post and link to yours directly in the future!
@mint sandal since the thread of replies didn't ping you
Gonna get some quick dialogue in before I go to rest. Looking thru planner feedback here, would it be preferrable if I re-added the option to base the average gold value on the last day of harvests value?
I'm guessing the planner being unable to factor in your playtime makes it so crafter time introduced a different flavour of unrelatability, rather than the intended effect of reducing it
I think it would need to factor in playtime to be fully useful, yeah. (I've been doing that manually to adjust the processor numbers.)
It would be nice if you could still display gold per growth tick in addition to crafter throughput.
But I'd also like to hear from folks who aren't eyeballs-deep in the math, because my perspective is non-typical, I suspect
Regardless, I can at least re-enable it as a setting, and it could easily be slotted in with the other displays
Shareability is what I'm gonna be pondering on, cause I do be worried that it'll be confusing for the casual player to be given/shown 2 different averages
tbh we already had that with people taking screenshots of different numbers of grow days/whether it was processed or not
Gah, I guess it's a tall order for my skillset to cover all the use case
for me i would ideally see money per growthtick if all processed and how much crafter time that would cost per growthtick or for total growthticks
for full ocmparisons sake u need the player to input how much growthticks htey can get in on average per rl time how muhc crafters they can dedicate but then u also have the crafters beign interrupted by being done and stuff so the first thign i sadi is way easier to deal with for now
I litterally just look at total profit cause I don't wanna do maths lol. Tbh, I usually don't mess around with maker settings either. I usually just seed bok choy and preserve the rest
my perspective is more heuristic based and lazy
That's my approach pretty much
Currently have two rows for on demand crops (if I need carrots or whatever for cooking, beyond the 100 stockpile), otherwise it's bok choy in seeders
Apples, bbs, pepper for cooking, harvest boost tiles are rice/wheat for cooking as well
That's good enough to get some money, and if more is needed, it's cake party time
Soo I planted the wrong crop how do I get rid of it??
rclick it wiht a hoe
Yup, except for me it's epic sushi/sashimi time to use up all that rice
Sushi is too expensive imo, cause of the Dari
When I profit share I usually go for sashimi as well, hence the rice lol
I do it in food parties, cause some people have a lot of dari stashed. I'm lucky enough to have found people who do those parties regularly and I can just bring rice and walk away absolutely loaded once I sell the food. That's also why my most recent layouts have a lot of rice in them
Those fish dish partyd are why i had to design qrcode everything layouts as thry got more 1tile harvybuff plants
Wait, they stack to 50?!?
Whats the most profitable garden set up that someones done?
Will fertilizers be consumed if the soil tile is empty or fully grown?
Gotchu
might be a bit before I can get back to the planner now (got busy again till early-early June but I'll see if I can get some time in), but I'll look at re-implementing gold per growth tick even when processed goods are considered as an option. It'll be the old stat that ignores process time
I'll likely also include an option for the old display of what your harvest looks like when fully processed. I'll have to go simple for now, so crafter stats on specific harvests/ticks won't come with it yet. Implementing that part has more things for me to figure out internally but I think I get the picture of what you're looking for
For the users not tinkering with the crafters, I guess I don't have much ideas for improvement. My main goal with the crafters for them was a better display of how many of which crafters they should have for which crops. I have some thoughts of a simpler layout but that idea needs way more pondering and non-promised
They won't. They'll also not be consumed if the crop they're on is receiving the same buff from another crop
It's pretty dependent, I can recommend searching this up or similar words so you can get some prior suggestions/proposal
Ty i can wait this wil help alot
tbh I feel like Aqajj's Windmill Layout might be getting up there as far as silly minmaxed layouts go 😂

Testing a short link, since the planner link won't post... http://bit.ly/4mo7J9D
Hey, it worked \o/
I updated my running list: #🌱│gardening message
Also, I updated my Crop Revenue Rankings sheet to include cooking options for both beans and pumpkins.
Crop Revenue Rankings
including both solo processing and cooking options
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AfqsJjHJbN2WR3x1nYxeA2OP72GKNVfk2aO-4Geeiis/edit?gid=1265607500#gid=1265607500
It's not looking good for pumpkins, y'all 😂
Even with cooking, they only come in at 110g per tile per growth tick, and that's shoehorning them into a recipe using vampire crabs
(chili oil dumplings, amusingly enough)
But if I don't want to rely on cooking, then Batterfly Beans in a seed maker are good eh? Fascinating 😈
Very good, as long as you don't produce them faster than your crafters can keep up.
They take 2 hours to process, and each plant produces 9 beans at a time with harvest boost, for an average of 3 beans per growth tick.
Apples produce 3.2 apples per tick btw XD
once i own apples again im so gonna use my lazy bean layout
unless someone has a better idea
I wonder what the average per tile per tick is with that... are you just gonna leave the other stuff alone and only harvest the beans, or what?
nah im gonn aharvest stuff when i feel like it which might be abit less for the fast growing having to replant stuff but beans and berrys asap as no replant needed
interesting cuz they line up with the beans?
Yeah
like if garden planner wasnt changed so much id realise that to ...
but this was more for hte layout itself not the plant choice
nodnod
u get extremely few pumpkins per tile per day though XD
I wanted the expert opinion. Starred pumpkin from preserve barrel is 151 versus apple 144. Is this better $$$ long run?
Yeah this true it's not many pumpkins
lol I actually JUST did this math, one moment...
Assuming harvest boost:
Apples: 24 apples per harvest, 4 harvests over 30 growth ticks
3.2 apples per growth tick, 9 tiles, 144g per apple... 51.2 gold per tile per tick
Pumpkins: 3 pumpkins per harvest, 4 harvests over 15 growth ticks
0.8 pumpkins per growth tick, 4 tiles, 151g per pumpkin, 30.2 gold per tile per tick
When you take into account the fact that apples CAN fill all 9 soil plots with no waste, and (as far as I've ever seen) 2x2 plants cannot...
yeah. Pumpkins are just. Not good!
See above, but yeah unfortunately not
Even if you cook with them, pumpkins are basically bottom of the revenue barrel.
The only ways to make LESS money per tile per tick than canned pumpkin is pumpkin seeds, or to sell cabbage, blueberries, peppers, pumpkins, or beans without any processing at all.
This makes me sad. I was enticed by the higher price tag on the preserves lol
I knoowww they seem like they should be so good
Thanks for sharing, I knew you guys would have the answer
and I was looking forward to cooking with them, too, but yeowch
Yeah me too, at least they'll be a nice deco for the fall time lol
they got useless buff low gold value so i expectedf insane cooking value XD
They can be used in vamp crap chili oil dumplings...? Which actually ends up being the best use for vamp crabs now, hilariously, not that it's very good still
and it requires rice
I’m also a little disappointed in the pumpkins. Beans require no questing I believe since anybody can enter elderwoods and they are on par with bok choy which can also be bought from early game. Kinda sucks that you have to complete the quests and buy the seeds for essence and then they end up being awful. Oh well
Is bokchoy still the undisputed single tile cash crop? I just came back for the EW update so idk if they've made. Any changes since I stopped playing like a year ago.
alright so im a little confused here - why isn't the center apple tree getting a quality boost in this layout?
it's got a cotton on either side of it, so it should get a quality boost? or am i mental
I wish that it was questing or the guild shop at least had something more to spend on other than decor. Because my gardening coins are almost always near the cap with nothing to spend on. I mean I'd buy speedy grow if I it actually worked but sadly it doesn't.
You'd need 3. That's only 2. Move one of the punkins with the blueberry I guess
ahhh i see, thanks
old news to everyone but me, I'm sure- Heartbroken that a 3x3 plot setup doesn't fit in the courtyard 🥲
(oh wait it does. crisis averted)
can somebody recommend me a good layout when i want focus on making chilli oil dumplings ?
Newbie here and I've unlocked the preserve jar. Any recommendations on which preserve foods yield most amount of gold in a short amount of time. I think some of the preserves are quicker to make so not sure of someone already did the math for early game gold making.
i do have this little cheatsheet of if u got enuff crafter time what u shoudl put ur stuff into
seeds: bokchoi potato beans
jar: eveyrhting else
seeds again: stuff u cant jar cuz duh
is there a way to pick up garden plots with fertilizer in them?
how do fertilizers work i keep seeing the disapear from my plants before harvesting?
How does the harvest boost fertilizer work? Do I just put it down once and I'm good or do I have to put it down or every day?
If you go into the overhead view where you can see the whole plot and change plots etc. (press h on pc) then you should be able to click on the plot and move it. I've done it with plants in the ground. Just can't move them if you have a plant across two plots (e.g. apple or blueberry plant cross across two plots - you can't move them I don't think)
trying this now ty
You can do this from the regular placement mode as well (Ctrl)
cc @quick stream
See discussion on fertilizer here: #🌱│gardening message
And also check Arenvanya's Guide to Gardening, linked in pins
omg thanks
By "short amount of time" is that including grow time, or only processing time?
Generally speaking, the strength of the preserves jar (and other idle-time crafters) is their ability to leverage the time when you aren't online or when you are busy doing other things. They tend to make money over hours/days - not very fast.
So, while you can look at value added per crafter slot hour when choosing how to deploy your limited crafter licenses, it's not the only relevant metric.
The seedmaker also tends to be overlooked as a source of revenue: the top three cash crops (beans, bok choy, and potatoes) are all best sold as seeds:
beans: 101.3g/tile/tick
- 120 min/craft, +50.6g/hr, max unattended runtime 62 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +1,215.6g (12 beans)
bok choy: 88g/tile/tick
- 72 min/craft, +35.8g/hr, max unattended runtime 19.2 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +687g (19.2 bokchoy)
potatoes: 72g/tile/tick
- 84 min/craft, +37.9g/hr, max unattended runtime 22.5 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended crafter-hours: +853g (16 potatoes)
What DS said is true: the cash crops that are best in jars with the highest gold per tile per growth tick (starred crops, with harvest boost) are:
-
tomato: 61.2 g/tile/tick
- 27 min/craft, +37.8g/hr, max unattended runtime 13.5 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +510.3g (29.7 tomatoes)
-
corn (mid-range): 54g/tile/tick
- 48 min/craft, +37.5g/hr, max unattended runtime 24 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +900g (31.2 corn)
-
apple (mid-range in terms of revenue, but are great for reducing labor): 51.2g/tile/tick
- 76 min/craft, +37.9g/hr, max unattended runtime 38 hr
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +909.6g (19.2 apples)
-
carrot: 51g/tile/tick
- 27min/craft, +37.8g/hr, max unatttended runtime 13.5 hrs
- max value added in 24 unattended hours: +510.3g (29.7 carrots)
The value-added figures don't include the initial value of the raw crop - only the amount added by processing it.
What does single tile cash crop mean
What’s the best thing to put in glow worm farm to get the most harvest boost fertiliser
Single tile means, a crop that only uses up one tile on a soil plot. And cash crop is a farming term that just means something that you grow for profit & not for practical every day use
There's a chart for that. But I think its in #🍳│cooking-foraging or #🐟│fishing-mining mYbe. Altho if I'm not mistaken how much you get is based on the cash value nowadays
Hey, I am testing a new layout for the moment.
I get tomatoes, carrots,pak-choi,rice,beans,and pumpkins.
And I am putting rice,pak-choi,potatoes,pumpkin and beans into the seed collector and carrots and tomatoes into jars?
Is there anything that makes more sense?
I am not into big cooking parties or something.
If you don't need to garden for food or parties, quest, gifts then it would be best to take pumpkins off your build layout because someone did the math last night and we figured out that pumpkins are some of the worse crops in the game in almost all categories gold, processing & focus wise etc .
I love how beans never get clogged up in the seed maker. 😭 I can just drop all my haul into them and not worry managing them for the whole day. Very similar to apples.
like bokchoy is pure gold but they get clogged if you're away too long so you'd need a few preserve jars to put any left overs. Because I ran a bokchoy farm even with almost all speeders it was annoying to manage 😂
thank you. so I will get rid of them after the achievments 🙂
think will add another to beans to these spots
Yeah that's what I did with mine too. I just made sure that I saved a few in my inventory in case I'll need them for gifts in the future.
yeah 🙂 I got 20 of all veggies+fruits in my chests and one stack of each seed just in case
Played around and made this, it's a really good slow income
This is with some compost stuff
layout to have best cotton output ?
as in just most cotton or most cotton without to muhc harvy boost fert?
With harvest boost, I can water it as I'll be staying in my plot mostly the next few days.
Ah this works too, I'll just swap the bokchoy for the cotton
yeay thats the most one corp layout
u only got to run it a few times XD
When you hit level 25 gardening, you can plant normal seed and get guaranteed quality crops? I'm trying to organize what I'll do with my crops, if I should always put quality ones on the seed maker or not
25 100% starred with starred seeds
38 same for unstarred seeds
^witrhout quality up boosts
thanks!
What would you all recommend for me. I use apple jam exclusively for focus food, no cooking other than grilling fish for worms. I want max water retention, max weed block, low maintenance. I can seed and jam for cash. At level 139. Something easy-ish to remember would be awesome, but I can't figure one out. Oh, and I usually have a ton of harvest boost fert, so that's used
ty for being so specific i go thte perfect layout jjust for your needs
I had a feeling you would
Nice! Thanks so much!
your welcome
Think it'd work ok to sub tomatoes for cabbage? Less replanting
Where did the 38 come from?
I thought it was a static 2% per level, meaning you'd get 100% at level 50?
Same, they're very powerful! 50g/hr is also just ridiculous
Yes, that will work
Cool! Thanks!
It starts at a base 25 percent chance :)
Shouldn't it be level 13 for the guaranteed starred then?
Cause 25% base, 26% level, 50% from seeds?
check the documentation on the garden planner for a breakdown of the formula it uses
(which is just the playerbase's current best estimate, at any rate)
if you're getting 100 percent star crops at level 13 with starred seeds, please log that data and share it!
It is way too late for me to test that beyond creating a new account haha
I was genuinely curious cause I haven't played in a long time and remembered the 2% per level thing
i mean its technically 37.5 but u cant have a half level yeay its 2% per level increase but starred seeds add 50%point themselfs while unstarred does 25%point at lv0
I guess it makes sense to have non-starred seeds have a base percentage to give starred. Otherwise it would take a while to even get them lol
Thanks
yeay if u use cotton properly placed u can get full starred produce pretty fast at start of the game even with water retain and harvest boost
getting ot the point where u can ditch the cotton is more important XD (i did that when it provided 0 buff saving my unsatrerd seeds for higher level but u might swap it out sooner when its only a few percentage difference)
I remember using cotton in the early game to get the ball rolling
at the beginning i was like i need so much fabric anyways but apparently buying fabric can be cheaper and growing a cash crop
Yeah, it's kind of silly to make your own fabric giving the cost alone (also not having starred fabric), plus needing to use a processor for it that could be used for more profit elsewhere
its such a waste of starred cotton XD
It made sense to grow it before they upped fabric to 2 cotton each and didn't raise the shop price to match
oh wow thats suhc an oversight well at least now i know cotton is only for buff
I should re-check the level breakpoints for QU vs HB
but ucan easily 100% both its more about when u want to replace cotton with weedblock
Weedblock is non-negotiable for me, lol, too much time out of the house in early game
desynced tomatoes are the worst
Hey guys i have a weird bug on my soils ! I wanted to move a soil from a plot to another, the condition is that the soil is empty and untiled. So i worked my way in order to meet the conditions. But weirdly, i still cant grab my soil (it is indeed empty and not tiled). Its such a handicap because i had the problem for a week now and when i first had the bug i tiled one tile to replant just to RE untile my soil if it makes sense (in order to chase away the problem if the soil thought maybe it was still tiled or something). But now that i waited 3 business day to clear the tile yet again, the problem persist ? I was wondering if u guys knew a life hack if that happens, like a glitch where u could swap the soil from one plot to another. Or even if u ever had that bug of the soil being empty but cant pick it up. Any help would be appreciated !
Do any of the tiles have fertilizer on them? (you can't see fertilizer when the soil is untilled, unfortunately, so it can be hidden)
And is it that when you try to pick it up, it gives you an error, or that you can't grab it?
Invisible fert strikes again for sure
they might be since i used to have my non stop 3x3 layout going with fertilizers etc. And when i want to pick it up it tells me that i cant pick up a soil that is tiled or unempty. wich is basically gaslight since i know for a fact its UNTILED lol. I could pick up the 8 other soils though, just this one is making me go through hell
Oof, well, in case you need it, here's a guide: #🌱│gardening message
U have to til it and plant something to c thr invisible fert on it thrn wait 48 hours after removing it to until again sigh
ok but ive been at it for a week loging in back on every hours for 12 hours a day its starting to driving me frustrated, theres no quicker way around it ? like a housing glitch trick or smth ?
cuz u know for a fact that even if i plant rice it will take me at least 2 more irl days just for a bug ????
and also i find it weird cuz all the other 8 soils gave me like one thousand (litteraly) fertilizers back in my inventory and didnt make a fuss, but this one does ?
If its untilled fully and u cant pick it up there can only be a fertiliser on there this is al we can do idk what else could be the reason
Well imma try the apple tree technique and wait for 48hrs and see but you both might be right. Just a shame that the solution takes so long….
I wouldnt do apple since it takes forever to finish xd
Usually i place a bokchoi or rice in cuz that will always finish in 48 h with my low amount of growthtick ped day place one quality up then 3 harvyboost to clear it fully
Ho no don’t get me wrong I destroyed it, I just wanted to see if there were hidden fertilizer or not. Turns out visually there were not but the tree gave me 200 fertilizer… So there was indeed invisible fertilizer. Hope this bug will get fixed soon !
(I destroyed the tree and let the tiles to dry cuz at that point I wanna rage quit the game for some days )
y'know, the plethora of 100% weed+water gardens made me think most players were just super lazy 'cause c'mon, its once an hour while online and an eternium water can hits 9 spots at once pretty fast!
Having abandoned all water and weed prevention, nevermind, this kinda sucks i get it now.
Anyone have any feedback or critiques against this layout?
alot of fertiliser and u probably have to harvest alot of times anyways
so it kinda depends on ur use but it snot a flawed layout in my opinion
is there a like... compendium of end game garden layouts somewhere. people keep mentioning the "afk plots" and what have you and i can find a couple, but im looking to see my options i guess?
for example im not mad someone else made a better layout that i forgot to scrnshot
this is more for a bit of everything for poeple who cook alot of variety but uhm pumpkins are kinda bad for everything htough XD
Yeah the fertilizer I just would add like.. 99 to each grid cell. It does add up but allows me to use plants that don't natively offer blocking support. It's a balance between what types of plants you need for other things, e.g., cooking, worms, decoration. Harvest boost would be good since I'm worming constantly
but theres also money continuous harvesting or set and forget cuz u forget to maintain ur garden ones
perfect layout for u then
Until my finger arthritis is too much to keep up with the fert lol
i would hoenstly just use an autoclicker for it ... i woudlnt even consider it cheating just QOL
Not currently an official one or anything, but I do wish we had some kind of tagged user-submitted gallery
Aisen has "database maybe in the future possibly, but money" on the garden planner roadmap
I don't have the skills necessary to create one, though, nor the energy to maintain it
Right now your best bet is to search this channel for links and images (as well as Reddit)
works for me, thanks
There are lots of clever people tackling these problems :)
if u need something u can always ask me here i got most everyhting mostly and most money till elderwoods cuz the garden planners money calc got changed so much ic ant work with it
hahaha yeah and im here lookin' for a ride on the shoulders of giants 'cause i am definitely not among them 😂
i jsut like making layouts its a fun little puzzle game for me but no time or energy to start doing more then that and ansering questions of poeple and donating stuff every now and hten
ngl 100 percent water and weed is almost the basic qualifications for a layout unless you're getting into theoretical gold yields
i just want weedblock cuz otherwise my plants get out of sync whne im busy in elderwoods or bahary or some party to tend to my plot watering just takes a while and slows it down when i forget
but ime the trade-off of extra gold is not worth the labor, and missed growth ticks are an unseen cost
but won't partial water retain also cause problems?
miseesd growthticks are so muhc bigger indeed or worse weed making stuff out of sync does unimaginable damage to me as a person ... i cant stand it
XD
yes so thats why 100% which is easy to do anyways with full HB
It IS ultimately down to preference, though
yes it is but i can minmax preferences for poeple
What are the best plants in terms of Gold/Gardening points?
depends on if u run out of crafter time but if thats nto the iessue beans and bokchoi by far
once my apples are stockpield again im so gonn ause my bean layotu
hrm. i thought you got star seeds back if you put star produce in the seed extractor, but i just got regular ol' pumpkin seeds?
It should 🤔
U sometimes get an extra unstarred
maybe i misremembered and put regular pumpkins in... all i got was regular seeds back. ill keep tryin'
its kinda annoying that my worm farms produce so much harvest fertilizer, the one kind im least likely to use because apples and blueberries give it natively...
Anyone know if crop boosts can stack? Like if I've got a crop next to some blueberries but it also has harvest boost fertilizer, would it get double the harvest boost? What if it was also next to some wheat and rice? Would it get even more harvest boost?
u want my super fertslurper 3000? i cant run it cuz i ran out of stuff to worm
... ???
try to have to much HB fertiliser with this baddy perfect for if u want to farm as lazy as possible basically jsut for osm ecash and xp
ahhhh nice
hrm... prolly more of an exp grinding option later. rn i need hte blueberries and pumpkins and things just to stock up
what does the star mean on the food?
"star quality" stuff is worth 50% more than the unstarred version. Starred food can be placed as decor and also gives 50% more focus than the unstarred version of the dish.
as of now pumpkins ar epretty useless so u only need like enuf plants to get all its achivemetns ...
if u get 3 unstarred pumpkins plz gift themt o me
go ahead and do a request for 'em and ill fulfill it
and yeah i just like to have a stock of everything, and well... i had no pumpkins until recently
great cuz i cant get unstarred crops and i need it to make sure poeple put in the correct vlaues in calcs and stuff
lol that's kinda funny
too high level gardening to get scrub stuff anymore so can't mix with the peasantry
get on my level ;P
requested and i think i send you a friend request
dont see the rerquest and think i missed the friend request too - add Sylvaea Atros
tried sending you a friend request too
ur not atros? ok uhm /nickname atros IGN: <insert ingame name plz XD
mh if that dont work u can slect ur profile settings this server display name
you have succeeded in trying and thats a big step
@frail escarp @neat vortex @stable ginkgo
@desert glade
Is there a way to remove a planted crop? Messed up a placement
rclickw ith hoe
Oh gods thank you so much!
oh pff he's a demigod at best
( :p )
your welcome
and ren u werent supposed to tell anyone
Hey @floral talon Do you have a layout with all crops besides cotton?
There are quite a few of those :)
Search "everything garden" in the channel (maybe filter by has:link or has:image too)
yes hangon layouts are on their way
Garden plots still act wonky sometimes, eh?
you mean the way they shift around sometimes when/until you water/weed 'em? oh yeah.
they weren't weird originally but when i started using apple trees they got real weird
Yep. Annoying, right? Hahaha.
Is the xp for harvesting quality crops different from no star crop? Sometimes I get double xp, not sure if its from quality/quantity increase effect or i just press harvest fast sometimes
No, quality and quantity don't affect XP.
Focus bonus does, though, and so does grow time of the crop
(crops accumulate 4 XP per tile per growth tick, divided by the total harvests)
has anyone got a good layout purely for money gain? ive been running apples for awhile but learnt beans are better now
thank you!
@steel ore
whoops
Still working on good bean layout
my bad thought you were talking to me thank you though also good luck, i tried to mess around but couldnt find any i was fully comfortable with
Aqajj posted a "windmill layout" with a bajillion bean plants if that interests you
(just search for that in the channel)
high labor though, no water retain or weedblock
Is there any other way appart from buying the pumpkin seeds from tamala for lots of essence? Has badru some?
Tamala is the only way to get them
Once u have one u can grow pumpkins and turn those into seeds
Someone wanna take a stab at making a less tortured version of this? XD
Anyone have a harvest boost, water and weed one for max apples, then pumpkins, onion, rice please?
Do I have to be online for my crops to grow? I had water retention on everything and only a couple of weeds. When I came back 9? hours later, the rice, wheat, potato and tomato were not ready for harvest yet.
i swear they usually do grow though u do need to come back and water them thats probs what the issue is cos as the day resets u need to water your crops for them to grow so thats probs why they havent
The water retention looked good. There's nothing for me to water right now.
Anyone having issues with your garden reverting to earlier progression? Like, all crops literally reverting to an earlier growth phase?
Does anyone know how to move plots when you put a spicy pepper plant across two plots 🙈
You can't until it's gone.
U have 9 total weeds on all ur soils combined its tge knapweed timetravel bug
I have 9 weeds all on a set row of crops that don't move. The rest of the garden is completely weed-free.
So, if you have 9 weeds, you're screwed? Why haven't they fixed that in over a year?! Lazy.
Do you know how long that takes?
Dang that’s really ruining my renovation plans 😂
You can just right-click with your hoe to remove it early....
Though, that kills it and you get nothing from it.
The person who wrote all gardening code was layedof due to budget cuts
hey I’m looking for some layouts, one for money and one for supplies for cooking, I’m mid game ish, so no apples or blueberries ect but have all 9 plots
It's been a very long time since that happened, though. So, in my books, that's not a "pass".
holy! This is my biggest payout from farming yet!
Imagine if it got turned into seeds 😉
I'm pretty sure I could do 3 apples + one 2x2, based on the diamond layout/this one ( #🌱│gardening message ) - would that be enough apples?
Think so 🤔
They basically said that this was working as intended and you should weed your garden. It's not necessarily considered a bug.
Assume I've been offline for many hours. If I log in briefly at 5am game time and then log out, will the game advance me one growth cycle for the coming 6am tick, or two growth cycles for the one following that next tick as well?
See here for details on that: #🌱│gardening message
When u are online at 0600palian time and one time after so log out at 0559 nope at 0600 yup
I think I get it now. Thank you.
Hm, forgot this is thornier than I remembered, and RL is pulling me away for the day, sorry!
It's okay, typing anyway
So, they intended the whole garden to suffer constant reboots because there's a patch of weeds? No, it's a bug and they're just too lazy to do anything about it.
We are supposed to weed our garden cuz the chapaas put some flowdust on em xd
lol
Basically, any effect not explicitly stated as being a feature, or something that doesn't function as intended (like the frogs in Elderwood with the Lures), is a bug. Even if chapaas are what they're blaming 😛
those cursed magic chapaas springlying their flowdust everywhere grrr
arguably, trying to cultivate weeds to take advantage of the 9-weed maximum was an exploit and they did fix it 🤔
but I'm not sure I want to argue, so
Is there a weekly limit or something like this when it comes of the gain of the gardening coins?
100 poer week from challenges and 10 per level it caps at 2k so make sure to spend it in time ...
thank you! I was confused on why i wasn't getting more, makes more sense now!
whats the best layout for crops to make the most money
dependso nu r crafter time and if u wanna cook with it
just to make the jars you can make
some stuff is more profit turned into seeds especially hte most money stuff
ow what 1s is that
stuff u cant jar cuz duh
and bokchoi potato beans
How did u set up your farm?
tomato instead of cabbage could be better and maybe switch weedblock and waterretian plants so morebokchoi owuld bem ore money
hey duhscape, i got 4 pumpkin seeds, you got a no water no weed layout for me?
qn when you use fertilisers, does it mean you use all that one each plot?
so like 5 harvest x 9 squares?
uh since pumpkins and spicy peppers arent eneded for muhc i do have layouts that contain them but not specialised ones
oh nvm i see it highlights if there is a number
a plant uses its tilesize per growhttick or none at all
yeah just a basic one so i can stock up on some seeds without paying any attention to it
how do you tell if a plant has had a fertiliser put on it or if it has used it up
i got ana everything garden XD
press G
you got like a no water blueberry or something i can just swap the pumpkins into
I'm looking for a level 2 farming setup that i can go ham on if that's available
yeah
does this setup need you to water everything everyday?
only on a replant or if u forget to harvest
do blueberries and apples generally use more space
thank you for sharing the setup. i need to get me some of those seeds
nah always they be a tree and bush sotheya relarger
qn do yall usually run out of your plot in the day to do other things while the garden is growing
yup thats why imade my garden lazy so it doesnt matter to muhc if i miss a harvest by beiing in a cooking party for example
sorry what happens if you miss a harvest? does the time tick and you waste a day
yes and plants unwater themselves (this is a degin choice so if ur using water fert it wont get used up completely ...)
Does anyone have any tips to maximize xp for gardening?
All xp is the same per plant per day. So there’s no min-maxing sadly
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-CbPBkOCbPmBkPPm-OCbPPmBtBtPmBtBt-BkOCbPmPmPPmPmBk-PCbOCbPBkOCbP-BkBkOPCbCbOBkP-PCbOBkPCbOCbP-BkOPmPCbPmCbOBk-PmBtBtPmBtBtPCbO-PmPmBkPmPmOBkPCb worked off that one and made this, probably can be fixed to be a little less annoying to plant
Ughhh it just takes so long & I need to level up to 7 😫
at what level should i start worrying abt seed collectors
always
qn at what gardening level can you get blueberry and apple seeds? im currently at level 3
qn means
qn = question
idk below 10 back in my day we didnt have no free blueberry and apple seeds
😦
if im at level 3, do i need to tough it out with potatoes and tomatoes till level 10
u can farm other stuff to everything is the same xp per tile per growthtick anyways
do you have an alternative suggestion for a farming setup
u need one of those repeatable low level ones but im busy atm cant grab
Make sure you are increasing your focus bonus percentage at the Phoenix Shrine and that you eat before harvesting
I'm not sure if I should be running this, or if i need weed prevention or sth
also guide here: #🌱│gardening message
Check out the Bullseye layout and see how you like it?
whats the bullseye layout?
You can fiddle with the crop choices to be what you prefer
I'll check it out thank you
once you hit level 5 beans may be better
(because they gain most of their value as seeds)
i just got to level 4
anyone have a good layout for just one lil apple tree? 🥺
Sure, what else are you growing?
only other thing i think i need is the beans?
i think i have most seeds just need apples atm c:
Here is one option #🌱│gardening message
perfect ty :)
Anyone got some no maintain pattern?
Most of the layouts linked in recent chat are 100 percent water/weed if you search for links
I am gardening level 1 and have a 3x6 plot on my property. What is the best build for me? I want to get better.
this pattern is the objectively best lowert level maybe abit much for most but cabbage changed into tomato if u harvest alot
I only have a 3x6 plot. Do you have a layout that fits that specific criteria?
Not sure if you are referring to me.
this one is technically the best one u repeat the pattern with the amount of soils u have buy some fert from zeki get everything harvy boosted quality upped water retained and weedblocked so u dont even have to look after it (bokchoi is good money)
but its understadnable if u dont like this one
TBH this one I don't like. I only have a 3x6 plot. Can you make a build with this in mind?
so u want a different 6 soils layout? or is it 2 soils cuz with 3x6 u mean tiles right?
2 soils, 3x6 tiles, you are correct.
fertiliser is optional to increase yields but not necesary
This is perfect! Could you input it into that website to make it a bit easier for me to manage the data?
Awesome! Thank you very much! 💜
your welcome
Most profitable crop to sell would be?
I sound like such a n00b. How do I plant the seeds? I'm on Switch if that helps.
In your task bar at bottom of screan click over to the seed press A
Awesome! Thanks!
No problem 😊
Whyyyyy do my persevere jars keep doing this?
they have always done this. i agree it’s frustrating! seeders do the same thing.
and i think most if not all the crafters do… let me put stuff in my crafters, i must hoard!
I get the same thing with wheat and rice. It turns red when it's completely full and the output can no longer hold anything. Each of the 3 slots can hold up to 30 of either regular or star quality, so in your situation the first two slots are full of 30 and the third slot it taken up by either a regular or a star quality, and it's trying to output one of the other type and it can't. Make sense?
SO FRUSTRATING. My wood, rock and ore crafters are fine, but it does this with seeds and preserve jars :(
The only 2 ways around it are 1) put less into them, or 2) empty them more often.
Ok, so I've got a query for any math/statistic nerds in here. Basically, I'm trying to min/max my crafter limit most efficiently.
We're limited to 26 total crafters (seed collectors and preserve jars combined) and if I could be in game 24/7, I'd be harvesting way more fruits & veggies than I could ever possibly process.
So, I need to figure out two things:
- How many seed collectors and how many preserve jars should I use?
- How many crafters to use for each input item given the following harvest every 10 days (irl hours):
162 bok choy
81 carrots
90 potatoes
135 rice
108 tomatoes
72 wheat
with the beans, whats better seeds or perserve jar?
They need to add it to https://www.paliatracker.com/gold-profit
yo just wanted to say i appreciate you sharing this very much. I struggled for ages and failed to create this and finally came across your glorious creation here, 2 of every big thing and can balance the other bits to get everything i need no problem. Absolutely beautiful. even has no fertilizer on the big ones, so while my gardening is low i can throw quality fertilizer at 'em...
There was a women who was super active on here last year ( Ive come back for the new area so haven't been around for six months ) and she was brilliant with that stuff lol we maximised our gardens to gold profit and everything turned into jars to sell, I just keep my apples for cooking parties
Atm I'm making just enough tomato and carrot seeds to replant, the rest of those two I make preserves, and seeds out of the rest. I keep 100 bags of seed for everything just to keep it simple and sell the rest. I usually keep 20 preserve jars on me for focus replenishment.
Her name was Lys Straya, just searched back 6months to find her convos 🤣🤣 but she was a wealth of knowledge with how many crafters of each to put out etc
When I have time im going to review my garden and see if I should make any changes to incorporate the new crops
Currently I have a 3x3 just running 4 apple trees, 5 bloobs, 12 tomato, 8 potato, its not as optimised as I used to have it for weed protection which is annoying but it maximised profit
These are the profits that I'm seeing in game:
qty - item - profit per minute:
3 - tomato seeds - $2.67 ($0.89 per tomato per minute)
1 - carrot seeds - $1.55
1 - pickled carrots - $1.26
1 - pickled potatoes - $1.26
1 - pickled tomatoes - $1.26
1 - bok choy kimchi - $1.25
1 - bok choy seeds - $1.22
1 - wheat seeds - $1.14
1 - rice seeds - $1.05
1 - potato seeds - $0.95
Is it just me, or is this incorrect?
If one carrot produces four bags of seeds, and each bag of seeds is worth 40 gold, then each carrot would profit 120 gold. Right?
Not to mention that it appears that most if not all of the gold profit amounts are no longer current.
It might just be outdated
is there a good layout to just farm garden levels, im level 41 so I can plant anything, doesnt matter what, just want to not have to water it all the time xD
What I use listed above is 100% maintenance free and only uses 4 slots of 2 fertilizers (8 total). I plant it all and the max out the fert (99 per slot) and then just harvest from then out. Whenever a crop is ready, I pick all of one kind and replant as I'm going, then I water everything I had to replant. It's the easiest that I can find.
It's tricky to plant initially, but if you're super careful when harvesting then it's really easy to maintain after that.
Then I prioritize processing the crops thusly:
carrot seeds
pickled potatoes
pickled tomatoes
bok choy kimchi
wheat seeds
rice seeds
Yeah, I wanted max profit with zero maintenance. Are you finding the update garden planner website better or just more complicated? It's nice to be able to choose how many crafters to use for each crop, but it seems like they messed up the percentages.
My old layout was pretty good for that, ill see if i still have it sonewhere. I havent used that part of it since coming back, i just have about 10 preservers running 24/7
I do cooking parties for gold, because I can use the apples for them so only buy the sugar 🙂
I've heard about cooking parties but I'm not really a joiner. Is it really that much more profit than one can make on their own?
I joined one earlier for an hour ( 100x cakes = 300 total) and sold for 77k
so between a few of those a week and gardening Im pretty okay for gold
Oh yeah, meant to ask, could you maybe put "everything garden" somewhere in your post here so folks can find it by keyword? :D
Absolutely, because it splits the ingredient costs and the time required. Poke parties are ridiculous: with top-tier epic fish and Dari salsa, it's 994g per dish, 3 dishes per round, 100 rounds is maybe an hour and a half? Walk in with 100 star onions or 100 heat root or something, do your chopping, walk out with ~288k (assuming 90 percent star rate on the rounds, which is typical)
Even cakes are reasonable considering the lower effort required to get the ingredients - cake parties are the most profitable use for apples, about 350 percent more money than jamming them. (Apples are mid-tier in general for profit, but cakes are very easy to make consistently since the apples are the rarest thing that goes into them, which can make them steadier than epic poke)
I havent done a poke party but sounds very nice xD might need to grow some veggies for it. I have about 900 apples currently just chilling out for parties
one thing i'd like to see is the ability to pull a crop out if you don't want it anymore before it's done growing
espcially helpful for multi-harvest crops
You can destroy it! Right-click with the hoe
Oh? Guess never saw the option. Im on ps5 so I’ll have to look to see what I need to do. Thanks
Done 👍
Hey guys, quick question. What Plant is a good Money making crop to plant and harvest?
beans unles ur crafters cant keep up beans are king now once im done stockpiling apples max lazy beans her ei come
wait but arent the bean jars selling for less gold than the actual beans or beans transformed by cooking ?
thats why we turn em into seeds 😉
yes but mandor is turning them into pickles, wich i find odd ?
more value is added per item if u turn em into seeds idk about cooking jars mighty take less crafter time by alot th ough
^_^;;;
In that case, it's whatever the button is that normally opens your ammo switcher on bow/bag/fishing rod
Was this a specific post you were wanting to link to?
If it isn't showing up in your channel list, go to id:browse and make sure you have it checked :)
(you can access that view at the very very top of the channel list, Channels and Roles)
I totally added it to my list after forgetting to do so the first time ^_^
Maybe to eat them, but that's a good question
Now I'm grinding to see if there really are SQ Ancient Seeds and Ambers ^^;;;;;
Greenpeace will probably put a bounty out for me soon given the level of deforestation I'm causing ^^;;;;
bahaha
I honestly really, seriously doubt that they exist. No other ambers or tree seeds have star quality versions. That said, if you DO find a star quality seed, please inform us.
I'm with you on that one, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm also collecting the Ancient seeds to fill an entire plot with those trees to also see if they'll drop anything good.
who knows maybe the starred amber is real maybe it iaint
Yeah, I'm voting that it's a mistake on the dev's end of things. Still, I've only gotten 4 ambers this time out (just about to need to repair my ax), and no SQ Ambers yet.
Starred things usually drop at 1/10th the rate of the unstarred equivalent, so if you get to 84 seeds and no drop... that's a 99.99% chance of the thing showing up by then.
(50 seeds is 99.48% chance of seeing a starred seed, and 30 seeds is 95.76% chance of seeing a starred seed)
Welp, the RNG hates me, so I think I'll be at it for a while yet ^_^;;;;
My garden isn’t “work”, just harvesting, replanting and watering 3-5 times a day and it brings in about 15k-25k gold daily.
Huh. Assuming I didn't horribly screw up my math somewhere, canned beans are somewhat-not-terrible focus food in terms of both focus per gold eaten and focus per opportunity cost. (Canned pumpkin is even better in terms of focus per opportunity cost - though just about as bad as everything else for focus per gold eaten - but they grow SO slowly that it's probably not really feasible.)
I mean, canned beans still aren't good even compared to solo-cooking focus food, but for people who hate cooking, it could be a reasonable option.
And they certainly produce faster than apple jam
So beans are even more awesome then i fhought nice
Yeah, for sure, especially because you can also turn the foraged ones into no-cook food
$_$ foraged become seeds to replant cuz they unstarred
tbh foraging the damn things hands out seeds like candy
I haven't had to spend ANY crafter time on replanting seeds for my beans...
Also, I realized I had forgotten to add bok choy and cabbage kimchi to my What to Eat spreadsheet. Napa cabbage kimchi was also halfway-reasonable, but still had the slow-growing issue.
Quick question: Should I harvest items as soon as they are ready? or wait for others to be ready?
Hm, .75 beans per tile per tick on average with harvest boost. And you're limited how many bean plants you can fit.
...and 0.2 pumpkins per tile per tick with harvest boost, YIKES.
(Apples are 0.35, cabbage are .5, onions also .75)
If you are able to replant them right away (so surrounding crops will continue getting their buff at the next growth tick), you can harvest them when they are ready. Otherwise, leave them planted until you have enough seeds. (Multiharvest stuff you can obviously harvest 3 times without the plant going anywhere, then it will need replanting after the 4th harvest.)
Crops get a buff even from an unwatered seed, btw, if you are trying to squeak in before the next growth tick
Thanks!
Yep, it is to eat them. I was eating pickled potatoes before we got the beans, but the beans give way more focus for much less time in the preserve jars.
They're a great choice for that! Hilariously, they are more gold-efficient than solo-cooking apple pies (not that this is a very high bar to clear)
I don't cook for gold, I still just preserve apples xD i switch up my garden layout depending when I need money or food.
can i use both fertilizers at the same time or do i gotta pick
Is there a time limit on when to harvest crops when they are ready?
Nope! They will stay ready indefinitely and never wither or bolt or anything.
Awesome! Thanks!
You can only use 1 fertilizer type per plant, but you can mix and match fertilizer types over the garden in general
Only one type per plant at a time u can get more buffs via adjacent plants
Oh, I meant versus cooking apple pies as focus food (which is not very efficient at all, since it takes 3 apples per pie, and although you get 3 pies out of that, they only give 487 focus each IF you star the recipe...)
Solo cooking for gold is almost always not worth the time/effort, if it is even profitable in the first place
I don’t cook for gold but then again my skill is too low for the more complex dishes. Though with 500 focus and 60% bonus my 100 and 150 focus food is going faster then I can reasonably produce lol
Might have to relocate my garden and add another plot or two (I have 3 atm)
yup the ever increasing food consumption which reminds me to get more food ...
Right! I just wish the preserve jars weren't broken and would process past 61 :(
they just got 2 slots plus one extra item its a design choice
There is kind of a weird reason why they do this! They aren't broken, just have a slightly odd behavior.
You see, there is a very very tiny chance of getting a BONUS unstarred preserves. So, if there isn't room in the output for that bonus jar to land, it will stall. The seedmakers do the same thing (though it's a lot more frequent to get a bonus seed).
I got an unstarred apple jam this way on my character who's at 500-something gardening, and I promise he had zero unstarred apples he was putting in the jars. lol
The preserves jar output really isn't meant for storage, so just make sure you have room for the full hopper to land in the output bin.
:O WOAH!! that, actually, makes a lot of sense. I hadn't even thought about that, but I have noticed getting unstarred's before when only putting in starred crops. Thank you!
Just made my first harvest. What is the best use of the bounty?
probably seell it so u can buy more seeds till u can unlock seed colelctor
Thanks! 🙂
urbanracer if ur new do not sell rnaodm starred stuff or rare-legenmdary stuff
ISO best way to gain dragons beard peat moss 🥺🙏
So don't sell starred or legendary items. Got it!
onyl exceptions are starredproduce and products and cooked food other starred stuff u kinda cant get that easily again later on u can find out what to toss for urself
and of the unstarred stuff keep ur epic fish
it only spawns on bahari coast (beach sand.) a dowsing rod can help you find it. and request it!
thats a foraging question though lmao but its fine its kinda a plant so it coutns in gardening XD
is there a chart somewhere for which crops its best to seed/worm/preserve, respectively?
I'm glad you found my design useful! It was a fun challenge figuring out how to make that layout work tbh.
man i tried to make something accomplishing what it does myself and was straight up getting weird with it. 4x2+1 layouts, the works, trying to squeeze it all in and make it work and just could not get it, huge kudos for working it out
idk about worming but seeds: stuf u cannot jar and bokchjoi potato beans
jar the rest could worm afterwards idk
that works, thanks
so if i am correct its best to place my crops in a grid so its helps the adjacent plants? does it work diagonal or is it just 4 directions?
- shaped not itself not exact smae plant type
same buff type plants does work thats how u give a plant its own buff without fertiliser
ok so a crop on its own wont have its own ability
oh i found a planner online and now i get it. ty
why does my seedmaker always stop like this on cabbage instead of completing the stack?
wel it comped 2 stacks + 1 craft or it will do 2 stakcs + 1 random bonus unstarred
If you are still getting lots of unstarred produce AND have access to glow worm farms, excess unstarred tomatoes and carrots can be wormed. Otherwise, as DS said. IMO the only preserves worth worming are starred pickled onions in a reg worm farm, unless you just have massive numbers of crafter slots sitting idle and no excess meat and forage to feed to glow worms.
pickled onions gain 23g each, though, which is just over the "worth it" threshold, plus they don't stall
what do yall turn rice into for profit?
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-P.HTOBkWRORP-BkPTRWRTOBk-OBkP.HRWTPRO-TRBkPWOBkRT-PBkPRWRPTP-TRBkOWPBkRT-ORPTWRP.HBkO-BkOTRWRTPBk-PRORWBkOTP.H
ive been following this and i have too much rice rn
Is there a bug or something? I set my soils to be 100% water retain but one of my trees and some of my berry bush needed watering again.
bushes and trees go through fert faster than single crops - did you examine their spots to confirm the fert hasn't been used up?
wanted to share my farming spreadsheet here! hopefully it might help some people :>
also, I am missing some data for my XP spreadsheet, if anyone has info that could help me fill in the missing segments please let me know!
If multi-harvest crops are left ready to harvest for longer than 1 growth tick, they need to be watered again after harvesting - could that be what's happening?
Seeds, though I do find that rice tends to stall the seedmaker very quickly. It's also used for epic sushi, rare sashimi, and assorted focus food parties (especially spicy crab fried rice). Any of those will use up your excess pretty handily (and at higher profit than seeding the rice, actually, if you single-role at the party)
If that layout is producing more rice than you can keep up with, consider swapping in corn for a while (processed in preserves jars)
I have this problem with my 2 trees. All other are ok! But for some reason the 2 trees I still have to water and de weed
Does anyone know how to get the pumpkins or is that not come out yet and it’s just a tease?
Once you unlock Tamala's potion shop via the new quests, you buy the seeds there with essence
Ohhhhh!! I’ve only ever bought the 1 potion of her so I can get infected stuff but never thought to scroll down and look further! Thank you!!
I have potatoes, tomatoes, wheat, blueberries, and apple tree set up where its 100% water retain and 98% increased quantity. No fertilizers yet
Maybe its this. Each tick is everyday at 6an, right?
That's right
Oh but my apple tree and berry bushes were not yet ready for harvest. It was still seeds when the water retain didnt work and my tomatoes were ready to be harvested.
If this happens, do their effects also stop?
No, as long as the seed is planted, it still buffs adjacent crops even if it's got a weed on it, isn't watered, etc.
Hmm, how about weeds? I know the prevent crops from growing when a growth tick happens. Will they also prevent the affected crop's effect on adjacent crops?
Oh, I thought I said: weeds on a crop don't affect its ability to buff adjacent crops.
It doesn't even have to be watered in the first time, just, seed in the ground, bam
Hi! I liked this alot, but I see that you placed a pumpkin on the preserve jar section? But we can't do that, right?
You get the recipe for pickled pumpkins once you harvest 10 starred pumpkins.
Ohhh, thank you 🙂
Oh sorry. Yep its there and I just misread. Thank you!
U can but tbh there isnt much point in growing pumpkins unles u cook em but even then pumpkin food isnt that good
I just sell them 😅
then why grow em at all XD
do plants give their buffs only when they're growing and not when they're fully grown?
when they are placed and only to directly adjacent so not diagonal and not to the exact same plant also not to th emselves so carrot doesnt weedblokc itself or a carrot next to it
so.. I'm trying to make a new layout with 2 apple, 6 beans and a mix of a few other crops I like to have on hand. I prefer fully watered and also weeded as much as possible, I don't mind using fertilizer and have lots of harvest boost.. but I'd rather minimize the amt of other fertilizer I have to buy. this is the best I came up with so far, but still needs 10 weedblock.. can anyone help me get that number down a bit? thank you for your garden wisdom!
(oh ya, I forgot I sub'd one bean for bloob.. as an option)
Alot of fertiliser
ya.. I don't mind putting harvest boost on the bigger plants.. but fertilizing single square plants is tedious and then I gotta remember to go buy it and if I get too much it clogs my storage.. so ya.. I'm still trying to rework it but any help is appreciated 🙏
We were just talking about this a few posts above! lol
Plants give their buff no matter what state or stage they are in
hello i just wanna ask is there any "optimal" layout if i exclusively only want to go for blueberries and apples (fruity bowl) ? like how should i places my apple trees and blueberries that they might benefit from each other or is that not possible in that case?
Hey guys, is there a type of fertilizer that is better than the other? Also can we put on more than 1 type of fertilizer onto 1 crop?
Not sure about first part but I know it’s only one fertilizer per plant
I found the one I made previously: that should be adaptable to your needs, Nimriel:
All the Everything: More Apples
- 100% watered/weeded "everything garden" (except cotton and peppers)
- 10 mix-and-match grain slots; nice, even numbers on everything else
- blueberries could be peppers, beans, or pumpkins instead
- single tile crops can be swapped around also
Base concept by me, with significant contributions from Astrea Moreno, who figured out the last puzzle to get it fully self-weeding
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-R.HCPCbBk.HCbPCR-AAAAAAAAA-OPR.HBkCb.HBkRPO-AAAAAAAAA-RCPTO.HTPCR-AAAAAAAAA-ROBkTCb.HTBk.HOR-RPTBBOBBBk-BkORCb.HT.HCbP.HO.HBk.H
personally harvest boost is the best buff as you get more for your crop thus more money. weed block and water retain are more for convenience than anything else as it stops you from having to keep going back and forth to your plot when you're out doing other things
Would the one I just posted meet your needs?
seems pretty good
There are many other options I'm sure
just not sure if 4 apples is enough y but then again i dont know how many apples a harvest gives on them compared to blueberries
5 apple trees, 24 apples per harvest (with harvest boost) 4x over 30 growth ticks (days 12, 18, 24, 30)
in my personal case the most optimal would be a ratio of 1 to 3 berries to apples from harvesting
You can check the garden planner output calculations if that helps?
not sure if i can use that on a phone , i dont own a PC
(doesn't have to be cotton btw, that's just a placeholder crop)
What level gardening are you
Up to you if you wanna put QualityUp fertilizer on the outside berries and apples then - not sure if it would be worth the produce sacrificed to make it
Usually I advise new players to go to a cake party, if they can, to stock up on QU fert, but iirc you strongly prefer to solo cook?
yeah solo or duo only
quality up can be obtained by worm farm right? i usually only put meat in there
so i only get harvest boost fertelizer
yep, feed them anything sweet
I always do it on my phone
is it really worth using quality up ? i heard fruity bowl suppose to be always starred because of how fast u can make it
If you're using unstarred fruit, the star rate will likely be around 50 percent, but with starred fruit, yes, probably 80-90 if I had to guess, depending on your cooking level
The time to completion is relative to the timer
i use starred fruit
Yes, so quality up will improve your amount of starred fruit per harvest - try it out in the planner to see by how much. (As your gardening level goes up, it will matter less.)
Hi everyone. I hope you're all having a great memorial day weekend!
Never heard of that before but happy memorial day
It's an American holiday. I thought about (and should have) added "for my American friends". But I wish all non-Americans a wonderful day as well.
oh its one of those national ones
is there a way to get pumpkins?
yes potionshop buy one
tamala and central elderwood may require some quests though
okkapa thank you very much :3
u buy one seed once then ur good
unles u forget to make more seeds with the produce of that one XD
i knwo this might be a silly queation how do i get more soil for farming ?
If you have 9 tiles of 3x3 then you're at max
i just have 2 i only started today
For the rest you buy at Badruus shop, need level 2 gardening
awww got ya thank you
You're welcome!
Struggling to prioritize/figure out what I want to do with my farm. Kind of want it all but with 9 plots that is obviously not possible. Full water retain, full weed block, good variety in crops and still make money from it..
if you just started today, just focus on doing the gardening achievements, in particular the weed whacker achievement of picking 1000 weeds. you don't have the money to buy the bag upgrades anyways, so you have to go home often which means you can tend to the garden. use this time to figure out your play style and what you ultimately want to do in the game because that will determine what kind of layout you can do in the end (i decided that i want to be as lazy as possible with the garden and decided to be an apple farmer, 4 apple trees with 100% water, weed and harvest boost and i just harvest the apples and leave everything else in the ground).
Hey, I'm struggling to figure out a good layout for my crops. Every time I try to plan it myself it makes my brain hurt and I give up. Gardening is like my least favourite activity in this game so I need an AFK farm that I can run in the background while hunting/gathering. I'd like 1 apple tree in there somewhere, but don't really care about the other crops as long as they bring me decent profit for the least possible amount of work. I'm dumb, so if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it ^^
dont worry this is totally what this channel is for
ok so uwant afkness
what do u use ur crops for?
i don't have a specific use atm, i just want max money turnout with what's available
oh ok uhm how much time are u online? need to know how many growthticks u get in XD
so u can actually proces it wihtout crafters bottlenecking u
on my free days i can play like a good 6-8hrs
mh and on the other days not so muhc then? or not at all
probably a couple hrs max on the other days, sometimes not at all
but i have more free days than not
ic so lots of high playtime mh let me check in my library of layouts for idc what to do with it just lazy one apple
will this work for you?
yeah i can do that ^^ just needed a layout i can copy xD thankies
if u got tons of fertiliser i got oen even lazier
i have a couple stacks atm but could probs make more
i mean i can try xD just need to get more worm farms going. but either way thanks for both layouts, i shall put them to use ^^
Trying to figure out what to put in my middle plot bc I don't have apple seeds yet. (I got lucky with Blueberry seeds dropping from some random stuff)
Update: I think I found something I like.
its low on harvest boost while using lots of it as fertiliser but if ur happy with it then its allright
u can ditch quality up eventually
How many days of harvest boost fertilizer does bokchoy need? I found out I was wasting my time growing cotton cause they doubled the requirement for frabic making. 😭 I'd rather just cash crop and run around hunting and mining for an hour to buy it.
I probably don't need weeding cause desync isn't that bad since I'll just have 2 crops, bok choy and and watering plant.
this is the best one so far, with only 1 weedblock fertilizer, which is optional
Yey my layouts getting advertised xd
It needs a minimum of 3 units of bok choy per plant
(to cover 3 days of grow time)
Oh so I can just keep it fully fertilized as its 3 day growth
Is it 3 units for most crops?
Using the bokchoy layout you gave the other day. I guess I can add a tomato in between to auto water it.
it goes by how many days it takes to harvest plus how many squares it takes. so for example apples take 12 hours to grow to first harvest, and they require 9 fertilizers per growth tic because they take 9 squares, so for harvest boost fertilizer you would need 108 to cover the first harvest only
which is hilarious since it only stacks to 99 XD so you have to keep an eye on it and refresh it
You can seed the potatoes, too, for extra revenue, if you like
I reckon you could feed the pickled tomatoes to your worms, too, if you needed to
In a regular worm farm, it shouldn't stall before finishing the stack, and will pop out 7 HB fertilizer per hour... hm, still might need to do something else with it. Maybe go to poke or burger parties with your tomatoes.
I haven't done burger parties before tho for gold or focus? I normally use left over veggies for focus since some of them use tomatoes and cabbages
They're relatively new as a concept, but the recipe takes 2 tomatoes per round and also benefits from having tomato overprep since things can go wrong if you don't have extra
(they're also worth a bit more than cakes, but are savory)
Ok thanks. This will help. I started buying up plots and build a new plot.
that is:
single tomato -> 3 bean burgers -> feed to glow worms -> silly amounts of harvest boost fertilizer in short order
Is seeding beans a money maker or does it take too long?
I started years ago just a returning player because of Elderwood like 80% here
Absolutely a money-maker! 50g per crafter slot hour, absolutely wild, and it runs for up to 62 hours unattended without stalling (unlike most seedmaker processes)
It does take a long time, though, 2 hours per bean
but that just makes it ideal for running during your downtime imo
is there a way to un till soil so i can pick it up?
any new recommendations with elderwood plants for a moneymaking layout?
Fill it with beans 👀👀
It just takes time - soil untills itself 48 real hours from when it was last tilled
ahh ok
btw, whats the most optimal layout for money making? i scrolled up a bit and im a little confused with all the different graphs lol
That really depends on how often you're on etc, do you check it hourly? Downtime? What level gardening are you?
if im using star quality seeds, do i need quality boost fertilizer?
Not really. But depending on your gardening level, you might rarely see nonstarred quality harvests
Top 5 cash crops for solo processing are now:
- beans (as seeds)
- bok choy (as seeds)
- potatoes (as seeds)
- tomatoes (jar)
- rice (seeds, lol)
I'm level 22
Then thats probably a pretty high chance of not seeing non quality crops if you already use quality seeds
3 more and ur not getting unstarred from ur starry seeds
im just over making/managing my fertilizer constantly 😩
?_?
ok thanks for the recommendation
I've heard you can give a boost to your apples/blueberries, but how?
u mean heavestboost buff so it produces 50% more
How does that work out? I mean adjacent crops next to it? I don't get the charts
for example a rice next to a corn the rice handout harvestboost buf to directly adjhacent plants and corn to so now they both have it
an apple needs to have 3 tiles of that next to it to get it or have fertiliser on it
a blueberry 2
but rice can tgive buff to rice for example
So I need to put three same types of said crop, in this case, rice, framing the plot that has the blueberry or apple in it, correct?
yeay or a blueberry fully adjacent to the apple and one rice for example
take this thing as example of how it works
Thanks! This'll make gardening a little easier :3
Not necessarily the same crop, but the same adjacent effect. You can have 2 tomatoes and 1 potato around an apple tree. They will water retain the tree and each other
For the garden planner, is there a way to adjust plot size?
yes new layout
See it now, Ty
oh god, i cant keep up with my bokchoy farm processing lol.
Hello, thinking of making a spreadsheet about which crops are the most cost/time efficient in selling as jars or as seeds but I have a feeling someone a bit more autistic than I am already did something like that.

hi yall, i have like 1 apple seed and 9 farm plots, is there a guide on setting it up such that i get the most no. of apples (to turn into seeds to grow more apples)
harvest boost if your friend, fertilizer or rice, wheat and corn. you can snowball from there by turning your apples into seeds
The craftertime oppurtunity analysis was done by aqaij and i dont understand it at all
If craftertime is not an issue then
Bokchoi potato beans seeds
The rest jar
Cant jar it seed it
Unles ur using it for cooking or ad furniture or something
What are the profitable foods to pickle/jam?
qn i noticed that using fertiliser i get a number on my apple tree when I use the harvest quality boost on it. what does the number mean?
bruh literly one message above
amount of fert on it although in the case of appletree it shall consume 9 per growthtick unles it gets the same buff from plants around it
how much impact does using star seeds make
25%point more starred produce or something over unsttarred u always got starred chance even at lv 1 with unstarred seeds i think
No diagnosis, but...

is pumpkin not a good money maker?
can someone explain to me how fertilizer works? I put some on my tomatoes (quality boost) and they disappeared the next day. did i waste my time and money of fert that wont help me?
To be frank, it's terrible. It's not even a money maker in cooking, even though it seems like it ought to be.
Arenvanya's Guide to Gardening (linked in pins) is very helpful!

Tyty
but is pumpkin good for focus foods at least? or is it just all around bad i seen ppoeple host pumpkin food partys at paliapartyapp at least
Is the harvest boost on batterfly beans the same as on blueberries?
yes
i wonder how could it be different though XD
no idea, just noticed the wording was different on them 🤷♀️ So I wanted to double check
oh in their description ic
In my personal opinion, using a crop that is worth 151g each for focus food is not worth it — strictly from a focus per gold opportunity cost perspective. Also, all of the pumpkin recipes either require heat root (rare, needed in sushi and poke) or - in the case of the pumpkin pie - want THREE wheat, all from one person, for the pie dough role. That's wildly expensive.
And then the dishes don't even turn out to be worth selling if you were trying to turn a profit on your pumpkins, because the pumpkins count zero toward the sell value of the dish.
So they're, like, double useless, imo.
However! Gold efficiency isn't everything. Fun, variety, and "ooh that sounds delicious" are all good reasons to cook things, too.
The bean recipes are arguably worse, because they need 3 beans per round (3 * 135g is 405g opportunity cost per round of food)
That's like if you triple-roled on fruit froster for cakes.
so so while they do have much focus per steps in cooking they cost so stupidly much gold u could for example just eat ur jars at that point aswell
and of course who wants to cook only one dish nonstop
I'd have to do the exact math, because if you're not cooking solo it is probably still be better than eating jarred food (and more focus per pumpkin, of course)
But that assumes you want to take up room in your garden growing pumpkins in the first place
(though the pumpkin plant is quite fun, aesthetically)
how do i get the pumpkin seeds?
u can get the first one from tamalas potion shop or perhaps u ge recipe and can request a pumpkin from others
i didnt even see her potion shop is that in her house?
may need to do some quests to unlock it idk but its in central stables elderwoods and with tamala herself
Hello. Can anyone help me with creating a farming layout for apple or blueberry and batterfly beans afk farm? I don't care about minmaxing just wanted to make seeds from beans and jam from apples or blueberries to get some money while i am at job with 100% water retain and weed prevention (and if possible harvest boost) because i don't want to get back to home every in game day when i have some time to play and doing quests or gather mats. Im still newbie on this game and have problems with creating something 😦
just gonna plant beans then 🙂
whats the most Btterfly Beans we can plant?
also any help building an AFK Bean layout would be appreciated, i don't mind none 3x3 layouts
This blueberry layout from DS might be adaptable to be 100% water/weed (and then use HB fert, maybe): #🌱│gardening message
edit: my best stab at it, still needs 8 weedblock though

poggers
I added a link to my best stab at it
ill try it out thank yo, i have so many HB after the burger party
would you put beans go in seeder or jar?
Seeder, 100%, unless you're planning to use them for focus food... but hopefully you have enough burgers to eat 😉

Pumpkin: Just Don't
(😂)
What's that processed value on the apples? Is that seeds or preserves?
got my layout done with fertilizers. the only thing thats not starred seeds for me are apples. i think when i get pumpkins, im gonna put them to the left of my apple tree, but we'll see
ooooh no. im gonna replace one of my peppers with a pumpkin when i get it
is there a guide on how to make other fertilizer?I only know the harvest boost one
QualityUp fertilizer is from feeding worms/glow worms anything sweet. Sweet leaf, probably piksii berries? (haven't tested), fruit and jam, and all the dessert foods
ty...I want to know how to make weedblock fertilizer
It can't be made, only bought from the General Store
oh thanks
I'm having a hard time understanding the recommendations/conclusions from this analysis - could you say more?
This looks super complex, whered you make that at?
I hate weeds, coz I always end up harvesting the plant that I dont want to harvest
The website cited at the bottom of the image :)
Oh! Lmao
The garden planner is awesome
I'm gonna be looking into that website after work for sure
(Though it's helpful when sharing a layout if you can also include the link to it, not just the image)
Ah I see
link to the planner version of the layout https://tinyurl.com/palia-garden
it was made originally just for my personal use, (hence the lack of organisation) top row is seeds, bottom is preserves and the recommendations is wether or not to bother with processing the food before selling it based on added value per minute of processing. (i have only 28 crafters)
no wonder no one cares on really planting pumpkin
Makes sense, but I think starred apple jam might be 144g each, not 114, pretty sure
