this really depends on the recipes you plan on cooking since stations can vary a bit? i would take note of the recipes you plan on cooking the most and then seeing how many are in common among those and then crafting the extras to keep in storage

u can have max 30 poeple in a plot anyways
but the more cooking stations u have the laggier cooking becomes so u should have plots dedicated to dish types cooking station wise just make one for hte one thing u wanna host and hten make another if u need completely diffeernt station and if miniumal difference put a few extra stations down

like some things need cake plot
others need almsot only stoves
others almost only cutting boards

For my sushi / sashimi plot i don’t have any oven, just 18 mix, 30 stove, 4 prep stations

I keep the 4 prep stations locked away on a stage that I /crew only have access too with 2 mix

this one varies a bit more on what you grow and whether you prefer to cook solo or in parties, cooking in parties will always be the most efficient as long as the focus food doesn't give more than 1,000 focus? i personally like cooking solo and don't mind being under focus and will just use tomato soup or steak dinner because it's easiest for me despite being at 1k focus! a couple other popular ones are stuffed cabbage rolls and chili oil dumplings!

The thing is on many dishes u need with max 20 poeple something like 15 stoves and on other dishes 15 cutting boards and on others extra ovens and mixing stations so u need ez 40 stations as a one plot everything and more stations becomes more lag fast but u can swap some stations probably

thank you. yes I have used tomato soup when cooking alone (or eat away my Ormuus pickled beans or the Trufflets macarons when running out 😉 ) I will have another look at steak dinner and stuffed cabbage.
Once upon a time a did join large cooking parties but they are too mind numbing for me, especially the "cook 50 to 100 pieces at once". There used to be moderate focus food parties, but I haven't seen them lately.
I only now need the focus food because of ranching and I go through quite a lot with that lately (I only use food for the activities that are "behind" on my character, so cooking, ranching and crafting)

for later in the game, chili oil dumplings are what i use. sernuk noodle soup was my go-to earlier in game once i was past the campfire. i sorta prioritized simplicity of ingredients which is how i ended up with the noodle stew (i played solely on switch at the time and the cooking was very broken), but i feel like chili oil dumplings are the ROI of ingredients+effort for focus gain in the game.

yes that's how it works! you have the recipe but its not based on your stations, its based on the fact that you are clicking the station, and this would apply to any plot you go to! so what you need to do is start the recipe, and then he can work on the rest or just some of the other steps and you both will recieve the dishes

Ok so whats the low down on cooking parties im new to it. Like do you have to have all the cooking ingredients for the certain dish 🤔 that they are making

You do not need to have all the ingredients, nor do you need the recipe if you aren’t the starter :) Basically parties uses “roles”. Some people are the starters, which are the people starting the recipe, other people are the ones cutting the onions (these people only need onions), others make the rice, others chop other ingredients. Whenever signing up for a party you can see what your role needs as ingredient! :) So if you sign up for the sweet leaf role, all you need to bring is sweet leaf. This way everyone in the party has joined in on the recipe in palias book, which means everyone receives the dish. Some ingredients can also be overprepped. Which means multiple people can do this ingredient, only 1 ingredient will be used, but since everyone used this ingredient, they all get the dish!

For example; Sashimi, which is a fish recipe that requires rice. The rice can be overprepped, 20 people can prepare the rice, the recipe only uses 1 rice but because we all prepared it, we all get the dish! :3

this depends on what your focus level is, what you tend to grow, and whether you prefer to cook alone or in parties! starred celebration cakes and bean burgers are for gold, but some people choose to eat their unstarred burgers and cakes, but that's up to you personally.

Remember, when joining cooking parties, not all players are good eggs.
Server holds 29 players plus the host, while the host will try their best to get as many players in, not everyone will be kind to server hop, let alone be kind at all in chat.

Needless to say player was very toxic after asking if people could please hop to a friends server to help, I had checked 30mins prior start time if there was a party in the server as was going to host, so wasn't like a last minute server takeover.

5-10mins into the party they did leave the server, so I don't know what was up with them not being able to sooner and creating a toxic environment.

Be kind to one another out there, you don't know what is going on behind the screens. I for one suffer daily with chronic disorders and cannot work, yet I host parties daily to be apart of a community.

I want to give an explanation why I might not move asap from a server when people announce parties. (I would never write such a thing though) just to explain, that it sometimes really can be very inconvenient to be asked to stop what you are doing and go away.
Example 1) I am in the middle of my breeding session - this involves usually trying to identify the right breeding partners and I study the Donation screen and try to remember things so I do not make a mistake - it is rather inconvenient to be interrupted with my thought process or I might not even see what was asked.
Example 2) I am pressed for time to finish my gardening (this might occur shortly before 6 am IG) when I try to harvest and replant the right plant at the right spot and be done before the clock strikes) 😉
Example 3) trying to work on my plot - maybe trying to float an object to a certain spot - in general decorating. I need to get into a certain mindset to do so and experiment which does not take well to interruption.

I do not want to lay this on you as a host.
I just wanted to give reasons why somebody will not move from their plot or move rather late. It is generally inconvenient, when one is in the middle of something.
Asking people to go away is a very non ideal solution to the system as a whole that should really be addressed by the game developer, because I think the idea of cooking parties is marvellous (and people doing them also!).

Apparently your post just prompted me to sum up my thoughts on the subject.

cooking parties are definitely the quickest, but if you prefer to cook solo, either repeatedly making your preferred focus food to create a stockpile, or setting up 4-5 campfires in a circle and grilling meat and unstarred fish

Do you let the higher-level person start and then the lower-level person can continue, or can the lower-level person do nothing but rush to level up and then cook? starred ingredients dont guarantee starred dishes! nothing does, its comes down to rng at the end of the day, but starred ingredients, and completing the dish quicker does help!

is it a known issue that recipes can be randomly ruined? I've had it happen multiple times, particularly on the stove. I add an ingredient and before the prompt for the minigame even has time to pop up, it says i ruined it. i have plenty of time left but it usually happens on the last 3 steps or so it wastes pretty much all my ingredients up to that point.

i understand that, however veggie chili only requires one stir at the end. Its also not a problem at the main stove, but at the secondary stove where im flipping things that its messes up. I get no chance to even flip or stir after adding the ingredient to the secondary stove. its just says i failed the minigame even though i was not even given a second to press interact to begin the mingame.

i dont think you are understanding, its not that im not doing the flipping. i know how to cook in this game, the minigames are pretty simple. I can make the same recipe 6 times in a row without any problem and then all the sudden one is ruined and i know i didn't mess up the flipping because it did not even allow me to flip it. it just takes the ingredient and says i failed.

you need to have the ingredients for your step in EITHER your inventory or your storage chest, and regardless of whose plot you are on you have access to them! for example if youre in a cake party that's going to to 50 rounds (50x) and you are a leafer, you do not need the celebration cake recipe, you just need to have 50 sweet leaf in your inventory or your storage.

you only need to be friends with the host of the party, so that you can go to their plot!
