You can use a dowsing rod to track them or ask out in server chat if any have been picked recently or to call them out if anyone sees one. And then you can server hop rather than wait another 30 mins for one to spawn again on that server to save time.

Ingredients pull from your own storage, depending on what you wanted to do. I'm just gonna say cutting onions for an example lol, only onions would be pulled from your storage, also bean burger for an example

you can bring your own ingredients with you in your inventory if you're wanting to keep track of what you're using but you don't have to because no matter where you cook the stations will ALWAYS pull from your inventory or storage, and you cannot use another person's ingredients unless they place it on the station and then back out of the mini game to let you do it

the ( ) movement end sooner, so you need less time and concentration for the more difficult fish like shark and maws and the like. Also the Brew, Sashimi, Sushi and Trout dish give slight buffs to make fishing easier, I'm not sure, which does what though...

If your cooking and gardening level is higher, you'll get starred crops/dishes or have a casual cooking party and have someone start the recipe, someone who's low level and doesn't have starred crops yet 🤷🏻‍♀️👀

If you join, choose one of the roles closest to the first role, which is butter. Mujin and spice sprouts are still open. You need 100 of one of them and mujin must be starred

And is it possible to craft things like flour/butter, or will they always just be a money sink? It seems to be pretty random what requires wheat and what requires flour for example

Cooking was really difficult though. I'm not sure if it is connectivity issue between the PS and the controllers, but I keep getting false hits when chopping or trying to flip, which never happened when I played on controller on Steam

The flip behaves weirdly like its in reverse compared to all other dishes with flips. Like it keeps resetting itself mid animation. Its so odd. No fail animation when that happens.

I find that I love the concept of cooking, but it is a bit too confusing due to the vaste amount of recipes that functionally are similar, just with different ingredients. It kind of feels like you mostly use it for gift giving...

cooking solo is mainly done for focus food if you don't want to join cooking parties, but cooking overall is EXTREMELY profitable when cooking in groups, and also it's good for decorating, as well as gift giving like you said!

and yes as of right now the only buffs are the fishing ones

Has it been suggested to add more progressive recipies? I.E. recipes that build on each other, or adding pre-processed things? Like adding apple jam instead of apples would bump up the price or focus? I was thinking of making such a suggestion, but if it is already been requested...

You don't need a starred flowtato, tou can still use regular quality ingredients when you tick the "use star quality" box, the starred one just get priority over regular. Ofc having a starred flowtato would increase your chances of having the dish be star quality but it can still be starred without it

there are not any recipes that are really profitable if youre cooking solo, the one exception is grilling all your non starred fish on the campfire! and yes you can sell anything you make in the shipping bin. if youre looking to make money cooking i recommend joining a cooking party, and if youre not sure what those are or have more questions about them feel free to ask

it’s all rng. cooking the dishes faster, which dish you’re cooking, and using star quality ingredients increases your chances for a star quality dish, but you can do everything perfectly with 100% star quality ingredients and still not get it star quality. cooking with others is your best bet!

dishes being stared is based on if you use stared ingredients or if you cut/prep the regular ingredients in the right order or fast enough. eating before you cook helped you level up faster. you will get experience doing any skill but with your focus bar full, it will grant you more experience

mmm you don't have to of course, but by switching it allows them to maximize the number of people at their cooking party? the average cooking party usually doesn't take up the entire server but when trying to fit as many people into a cooking party as possible they want to use up every slot so sometimes people will ask you to leave your plot and come back since that switches you between servers

I'm not really up to date w newer updates n stuff so I really don't know much Abt cooking parties either bc I haven't played in around a yr and a half but they are also talking to everyone in the server as if we're in the party? Saying things like there will be no breaks and I'm just worried that this is going to affect my own gameplay. cooking parties have always been a thing since open beta began basically (i've been actively playing since august 2023), and theyre talking in the server since servers are quite small with 25-30 people at MOST, so when they're doing cooking parties they're just trying organize it the best they can to maximize the amount of people that can participate in order to make money! so everyone on that server may be on the hosts plot except you, but them playing and hosting a cooking party on their plot cannot effect you in any way, and the only way you effect them is by taking up a server spot so one less person can join? but besides there is no actual harm done to anyone on the server including yourself! in the message linked i explain how ccooking parties work a bit more #🍳│cooking-foraging message

its just a group of people all on one plot doing a step of a dish in order to make a bunch to sell

if you want to help them maximize, you can just leave your plot quick and then come back? you switch servers when you go between the maps, so there's servers for those on their plots, servers for in kilima, etc

you can as long as you click "use starred ingredients" and it will prioritize using starred ingredients first and then use regular quality if you don't have starred, or once the starred ingredients are used up. if you're not wanting to use specific starred ingredients then you'll want to put them in your lockbox and it will just use the regular quality in your storage

if not the easiest way to level up solo is to cook grilled meat and unstarred fish on 4-5 campfires placed in a circle but if you're wanting to make a lot of focus food then you can use the spreadsheet in the message linked and it breaks down solo cooking #🍳│cooking-foraging message
