I've only ever accidentally hunted with a firework, and I call out in chat it was a misfire.

Also today I found out a way to do some interesting arrow management. You normally only want to hit a magic animal with a dispel arrow once and then switch to fine to save the dispel arrows. If you go into ammo inventory and split the stack of dispels until you only have one, you can put it furthest to the left, then fine arrows next in line. That way you can shoot a dispel arrow and immediately switch to fine without having to stop shooting, and you can carry more than one dispel on you without accidentally using them all.

I'd say do friendship quests. 2 in particular will give apple tree seeds. Zeki's lucky coins can also give apple seeds too.

I seem to see it most often in the field that is on the other side of the lake from Hodari's house. It usually spawns pretty early in the morning so I would start out looking not long after 3am. Use a buzzy jar and smoke if you can.

If by swamp you mean de mer dock area and mauvais way, willowisp doesn’t spawn there; it spawns on right side of the map. I mostly have stumbled upon it in deep woods and near the pond that Hassian and Tau stand by.

Duskwing butterfly is remarkably finicky. I got mine from a honeylure under the tree just across the river from the shrine myself.

Curious, is this a thing? Was running around Kilima last night and came across not one, but TWO fully unattended honey lures. Literally not a soul in sight and just a swarm of blue butterflies. They didn't even seem to be in places with rarer bugs, just right outside the village.

Gossamer Veil Moth can spawn just outside the village (night time though), but I can't explain why someone would place 2 lures... Were they placed near each other? Maybe someone placed them but then crashed? Or got what they wanted and peaced out?
If the lures were in different locations, no clue.

They don’t go into your regular inventory. If you go to your inventory page there’s a separate tab for bait and arrows and smoke bombs and such. Do you have space in that? It can be expanded at the general store (to the left as you walk in)

i was curious about the standard vs fine arrows, so did 30 more mins in northern bahari bay with standard arrows. i got 19842 gold or ~40000/h, though i was definitely a lot luckier this time. i also kept track and i used a total of 531 standard arrows (and some dispell arrows) so like 27 bronze bars

generally the playerbase only uses iron arrows and dispel arrows ever since slowdown nerf
but on some stuff u could budget copper ones as htey are enuff
idk if its cheaper but uhm hunting is for sports not money XD

hard to explain, there are some videos on it i think. but basically the idea is you jump, immediately shoot and then right click to cancel the animation after so you can keep running right away. this means you can follow whatever youre hunting without stopping and shoot at it at the same time

you can also do the same thing without jumping while standing still to shoot faster

and another thing you can do is press the jump and loot button at the same time to loot without stopping

I cut juniper trees, the ones with orange leaves in south Bahari and get them quite frequently. Medium and large junipers. It's the only tree they spawn from.

Just now. 500 woods, a regular and a star beetle. So they are quite common if you cut down the only tree they spawn from, which is the juniper tree, medium and large trees. I do it in South Bahari just for the Azure Chapaa and Muujin spawns aswell for potential plushies. 🙂

Yesterday in Bluffs x2 RTBs spawned within 180m of each other (on the same buzzy jar to detect them.) One starred and one not (went to the temple.) If you ask me, buzzy jars and route running is better. However I've never done a RTB hunting party, so I wouldn't know the outcome for that. But when I route run I see atleast 1 RTB each time.

All the RTBs I've seen spawn randomly at 3 am have been south of the center hole thing in pulsewater, between the pond near najumas house and the cliffs surrounding the hole thing. Also the only place I've seen a lure spawn 2/3 of them in one go.

But I did get a star jewel wing back on finding the groves being the first one there. I was just lucky it was a star version cuz not all grove spawn a starred bug. You can check your Accomplishments in the Feature Guide. If you've found all of the chests, the Elderwood Riches will be complete and you will have gotten a framed Elderwood Map

Does anyone have tips for hunting ogopuu on the switch im genuinely PO at how much these things teleport across the screen and I can’t chase them bc there’s so many obstacles in the way

Welcome to the club. They teleport on all platforms sadly as they are badly broken. However, switch is still really badly setup for playing palia. 😢

Ok, I can't help with the teleporting thing, but with the right set up, it can be easier. You go to your ammo inventory. In the first box, put 1 slow down arrow (can do by splitting the stacks, can't remember which button that is offhand). In the box next to it set up a bunch of fine arrows. Continue this pattern. When you have bow equipped, select your slow down arrow to hit it with first, then it'll automatically switch to the fine arrows. Just remember to select the slow down arrows when you go to set up for the next one. Hope this makes sense, it's helped me a lot. I saw this tip on a kfierce scene yt video. He's got a lot of tips for console players.

And, imo he's an absolute GIFT when it comes to learning how to glitch decor on switch (which also applies to all console players)

As awkward as playing palia on the switch is, I really can't bring myself to resent it. I'd never have been able to play otherwise and it's been wonderful for chilling the heck out when my anxiety hits. So, yeah it's annoying and I hope the issues are resolved at some point, but it's not my hill to die on really

Does anyone know the best places to put down lures for rockhopper plushie hunting? I’m aware of the area where king hoppington is currently residing, but that only spawns one type of frog.

Wisps: F9, G9
Flames: A4, D4
I personally like to lure at G9 for wisps, F9 for grumpies and A4 for flames.
All of these areas spawn grumpies except for A4 (spawns flames only)

If you want to organically catch them I usually walk from Sifus through shrine either with buzzy jar active or not it’s optional then walk through gate to bahari and came straight back through the gate to new server and walk this same loop over and over

sometimes i wish i could join a server just by myself to hunt ogopuus, they spawn so slowly and so many times groups will come up and start hunting them all without letting me get a shot in

i understand if someone doesn't see that i'm hunting, but a lot of the time i will hunt a few with a group of i'm assuming friends, and then they go off without me and hunt all of them so I can't get any !

Hunting green ogopuus if anyone wants to join

I saw a post on fb that got me thinking... I've completed everything in the game, bundles etc. The post was about the Ancient flow bug. I got one as a gift after the quest was done, but can't do anything with it. Some people had commented on the fb post that you can go back and catch the bug as a starred one, even after the quest and you already used what you needed for the bundle.

My question is, if any of you know if that really is possible and have one your self? I reeeaallyy want to have it on display if possible. I was thinking about writing to the devs, but I'll try here first. And I also didn't know under what category to write under if I write to the devs.

There is sadly only 1 starred flow bug in the game and it is the one you get from the quest or temple after the quest. The flow bugs in the wild cannot be starred.
