yep , thats pretty much the whole point , everytime when i tried doing hunting , dowsing rod or buzzy jar event , when i talked trough and coordinated , everyone got something. When i joined randoms about half or not even those many people got the loots

Okay, personally I think it’s best with only 3 people but everyone has different preferences. I just worry that people won’t be able to catch the rare bugs that spawn due to so many people moving about

and for starred of any rare bug , noone can get it in 1 hit so even if like 6 ppl are there , if they pay attention to the seeker , everyone can land atleast 1 hit. Unless someone is *** and pulls up a supreme smoke bomb

u can do all sorts of preparation , remember , this is a relaxing game!!! Everyone can go to wardrobe in bahari bay at central stables (good thing thats there) and everyone could make their whole outfit to look the same , and the seeker changes the outfit to be very easy to spot and totally different colors from everyone else , that makes keeping an eye on the seeker way easier. Then everyone will quickly follow the seeker and land a hit on those rare bugs!!

if changing outfit is a problem , u can always take screenshots to remember exactly how your outfit was 😊

I had a similar problem with the void ray. took me 800+ tries, and the first one I got was starred. And a good Samaritan gave me his/her spare. Try under lfg-parties, there is a thread for donating stuff. Or try asking on this channel.

also the best bug that's easy to find for buzzy jars in my humble opinion is the mantis off the kilma coast, they spawn pretty frequently for being uncommon bugs so i always farm em while on my clay / lotus / moss route!

also with the moth my method was to server hop. I'd teleport to kilima, with the jar active run from the one I arrived at to the whispering banks one, teleport to leafhopper hills and run from there to the central one, teleport to bahari, back to kilima and repeat

I feel they're also good with lures , usually at least one shows up. if you do a lure I usually like to do them with other people so it's easier to clear out the common bugs that spawn

There's four total deer plushes. Each species drops one and then there's the Order. Due to a bug, the Disco dropped it, but it's since been patched where it's obtainable from its proper source, Zeki's gatcha system

Anyone know if the Duskwing Butterfly is bugged? Me and 2 of my friends have used about 10 lures each during Morning/Day and we've all 3 cauht about 20 of the rare Spotted mantis but neither of us have even seen the Duskwing Butterfly even though it's Uncommon

Lures don't work on them because they're classed as uncommon! Just run around the area backwards and forwards - I just carefully ran circuits when trying to catch the Duskwings and Mantis for about four or five in-game days! It was driving me mad but I got there eventually 🙃

Duskwing Butterfly
For those that struggle to find the Duskwing Butterfly in Maji's Hollow, I can reassure you all. They do exist, but are even more rare to appear than the Rare Spotted Mantis despite being an Uncommon bug.

There is no consistent times they appear, and can show up at any time from 3am-6pm. The only takeaway that I've experienced is that if a Duskwing Butterfly does appear, it will only appear once maybe twice during that day in game. I have not tried using Honey Lures to test whether they spawn for frequently. Also make sure NOT to use Buzzy Jars as Duskwing Butterflies will not show up as they are not a Rare bug.

Here is a map showing the areas that I caught the Duskwing Butterflies. However, they can be seen anywhere in Maji's Hollow and the area east of the bridge that leads to the gate to Bahari.

Duskwing Butterfly and Spotted Mantis
While hunting for the Duskwing Butterfly or Spotted Mantis in Maji's Hollow, I recommend catching the other bugs to hopefully help spawn the Duskwing Butterfly and Spotted Mantis. I also try to avoid running around in the area while bug hunting as it can scare the other bugs away. But the most important thing is to have patience.

I definitely recommend using Honey Lures as the Spotted Mantis will be the only bug that is picked up in the area. Spotted Mantis are available any time, so you aren't restricted for when you visit Maji's Hollow.

Azure Stonehopper can be found at any time in Bahari Bay (Pulsewater Plains, Hideaway Bluffs).

Golden Glory Bee can be found from 3am-6pm in Kilima Valley. They have a 10% chance to spawn when cutting down medium or large trees.

Hairy Millipede can be found in Bahari Bay (Fields and Forest) at any time.

Leafstalker Mantis can be found at any time in Bahari Bay. They have a 10% chance to spawn when foraging Sweet Leaf and Dari Cloves.

Scintillating Centipede can be found at any time in Bahari Bay. They have a 10% chance to spawn when mining any size rock or node.

This is what helped me on pc. remap your bombs to key B (I found that the middle of space bar is easy access). chop the tree just until the last cut and get prepared. As soon as you chop, hit B to switch to bombs so you're ready if one spawn. I'm yet to miss one with this method. How often they span, however, is luck and grind... grind... grind... Between the beach and the repair station is a good spot unless there's wolves. I have never seen a spawn if a wolf is hiding in the tree. Good luck.

Has anyone run into an issue where you're hunting the Magic Muujin and they start multiplying? Making it very hard to tell which one you were hunting in the first place? Like, one runs up a tree, you cut it down and there's now 3-4?

they were hiding, waiting for you. also, once they're in the tree, they regenerate, so it doesn't matter which one you choose

Duskwing Butterfly Update
I knew I would have to make an update of where you could find Duskwing Butterflies but never expected it to be so soon. I knew they could appear east of the bridge near Maji's Hollow, but never knew they would spawn so far out.

So what threw me off is here it shows they are blue, but when I find a blue one it turns out to be the paper lantern bug, then i found a green one, which is actually the glowbug, but ran out of bombs so I got extremely unlucky with that and have yet to find another one.

yes, their colours are swapped. north bahari and coast has paper lantern, south excluding coast has glowbug so one good thing is they're not in the same places, that's how I tell them apart

Get in a hunting group, go to North Bahari and start shopping trees. When a white mujin comes out, have one use magic, another slow arrows. The one who chops the trees automatically gets loot, so assign the least best shot to that task or one who is a really good shot and fast with switching tools. A group of 4 is ideal because you can surround the trees.

Lost a starred Cerulean Cicada cos someone else ran past it and startled it.

There's an easy way to get the starred raspberry beetle

Just do Badruu's level 3 friendship quest and Auni will mail you one shortly after, and then you just need need to do the thing where you place it, pick it back up and then move to another map and it should register in your log

You see the two silhouettes with the wings pointing to opposite corners? Those are the bees, you get one by chopping sapwood trees in Kilima and they'll occassionally jump out, and the other feom chopping heartwood trees in bahari. You can also get the Ancient Amber Beetle from cutting down the orange trees in Bahari.

sells for rares ones, crafts for basic one. Fur and deer leather are use to craft things, there is also the 2nd tier deer that are used for the hunting horn.

The tier 3 are used for some quest also

I've caught over 100 rainbow butterflies, 13 of them have been star quality.. just by running around with a buzzy jar 3 am to 6 pm.. a giant loop going from hideaway, to pulsewater fast travel, to Pavel around hodari's workshop and back to hideaway. Take out or scare all other bugs along the way

I've given up on hunting on the switch, the teleportation on the switch is absolutely nuts. On the PCs it's better, but still not good.

No need to run around the map, for example the Jewelwing Dragonfly spawns exclusively on the cliffs above Pavel Mines in Bahari Bay so no need to look anywhere else.

Does anyone have any tips minus Dispell and Slowing arrows for those invis mujin ("magic mujin") or is it all skill? 😂 I caught one today finally but it took forever even with 2-3 other people

i find part of the problem is they are extremely glitchy when there are multiple muujin in one tree. the magic muujins that are chilling out in the open are a lot easier to hunt, though i suspect there is only one of those on the map at a time (use a hunter's horn to find them). because they aren't in a tree yet, you can pick the best approach angle so you will have a good line of sight as it runs away from you. personally i have a pretty high kill rate hunting those solo with slowdown arrows only, using the slowdown cloud to tell where they are.

if you have lures they usually work well for the gossamer

but if you're using jars only server hop

with jars i did: teleport to kilima central, run to whispering banks, teleport to leafhopper, run to central , teleport to bahari and back to kilima

most nights I did that I got 2-3 of them at least

The area in front of the giant frog is the best spot. I put on a buzzy jar and then drop a lure so I can see when one pops up

Ugh! Finally! I don't know how much time I've spent hunting down a duskwing, let alone a starred one. I've done the area with bug lures with groups and just, after days of going back and forth--- I swear, I put up a request for a duskwing just before throwing down my 5th lure of the day, and got three- one of them starred. Five more starred bugs to go!... Er make that 4 non starred, and 2 starred w/ my last lure, no buzzy jar, no smoke thingy, and I may/may not have used smoke bombs as I was doing both.

it's uncommon so it won't show up on the buzzy jar

you can either use lures, catch / scare bugs that are there so hopefully it spawns, or keep going between kilima and bahari and checking if there's one on the server you're on

They are still a pain in the ... because they're still bugging all over the place, duplicate and stuff, but it's way less frustrating since they don't regain their health.

Actually they've mistaken the colors since the beginning and fixed that now. So the Paper Lantern Bug is green as it should've been the whole time and the Bahari Glowbug is now blue. If you catched a green one before it came out as Blue when you placed it and the other way round. 😄

What suits you best crafting material wise and handling wise. I prefer sneaky bombs myself since they have a higher catching rate, but I don't spam them. The standard smoke bombs are most "cost"-efficient for spammers. 😄

For example if you have a hard time keeping track of bugs/aiming then you should use Sticky Bombs since they slow the Bugs down
