best (only) way to hunt the magic muujin solo is to go to one of two spots, one in thorny thicket near tamala's place and the other across the river from statue garden. while there look for the cliffs that are elevated (thorny) or below (statue) in the area. sometimes magic muujin spawn here (keep running back and forth if they are not). if they are there, cut the trees down and it will send the muujin into "panic" mode, they will look for trees to go into, but once you cut them down they won't be able to hide as they were not able to jump from the cliff areas. fish in a barrel from there. this was the go to method before the last update, so hopefully they didn't mess with that tactic

get to a grove first would probably be the "easiest" if possible, epic bugs will spawn along side them if a magical creature doesn't. if not, then be in pulsewater at 2:30am, pop a buzzy jar at 2:59, then follow it and hope for the best

It is so random. Some days I use multiple lures and get nothing, other days like today I ended up with 7 over a few lures. So far, I don't know if there is anything to it or not, but I always run around and clear out things and see if there are any places that I see butterflies flying around and that is where I pick to drop a lure. I don't know if that helps but I have found a few recently that way.

Both of them would be in the northern part of Bahari. I think the mantis will only spawn in the field area like Flooded Steps. I think the beetle can be found almost anywhere in the north, but might have better luck among trees.

Ancient amber has a 5% chance of spawning when you cut down sapwood /juniper / orange leaf trees that are medium or large, that’s how I got mine!

Level 21 -> 31 (50,000 exp)
With a 97% Focus buff each Sernuk was granting 37.43 exp (lets just round it up to 38) That meant I had to kill 1,315 Sernuks to get 2. 1 per 657 kills (although the 1st one took around 7 levels and the 2nd one took 3)

In conclusion... Killing 1,315 Sernuks granting 2 plushies, made for a 0.15% chance per kill.

Time to grind cooking to restock the Chili Oil Dumplings then I'll go for plushies 3 & 4 tomorrow and average those stats in with today's. (Pending they don't nerf/buff the drop rate)

You can hunt alone; however, if you are new, you likely don't have the fine arrows yet (unless you already do). With fine arrows it's 1 or 2 shots (more likely 2 shots, but sometimes a 1 shot works). However, if you have the standard arrow, it will likely take 3-4 shots, which means, you will need a partner.

yes they get all their health back instantly if they jump into a tree. The Blue Bristle Muujin really do take 2-3 people. Best strat... 1 person cuts the tree (then switches to fine or dispel arrows) while 2 people get ready to fire at the base of the tree to catch it with dispel & slow. I recommend 1 person does the displelling and the other slows it. This way it should make for an easy kill.

There are 2 spots however where you can solo hunt the Blue ones. They get stuck on the platforms with no where to run, and you chop the trees and then you kill it. 1 spot is near talamahouse near the waterfall an upper platform, and the second one is further towards the beack, it's a bit hidden. Dont have screenshot of map, maybe someone else dose.

Hunting the magic muujin solo is so hard, I always get 4 out of 5 before he jumps in a tree. I wonder if chopping down the surrounding trees (without somehow alerting it) is key. Question - I think the muujin come down from the tree after some time, is this true or is it random spawns in the same place?

unfortunately, i think that would be the only way to hunt them solo now, figure out which tree they go into and then cut down the other trees in the area, and use either dispel or slowdown arrows. they stopped spawning apparently where they were the easiest to hunt

i think slowdown is best. can be slightly harder to judge where they are with only the slowdown cloud, but it buys you a lot more time before they can get into a tree

@sage crystal Don't worry, I had the same confusion! There are a few fish/bugs that qualify for that that actually kinda glow in the dark (especially the bugs). Grab either of the glowing bugs in bahari at night (paper lantern or bahari glowbug). the enchanted pupfish is the fish you can catch too

two places actually. one in thorny thicket and another over across the river of statue garden. they were cliffs where a few trees were, that you could cut down and then when the wolves were running they couldn't jump down or climb from the cliffs, so they would go into a sort of panic mode trying to find a tree to hide in. fish in a barrel at that point. was able to solo three magics at the same time. unfortunately, the areas no longer spawn the wolves there

I mixed unplanted seeds with fully grown plants in my inventory (they become the same stack) and the fully grown ones disappeared... was left with just the 1 seed for each plant. Awesome.

hunting together could be improved by just needing 1 person to pick up the loot, and then all the other people who did damage also get the loot/xp. if I hit glambi 4x and then it disappears on me and some rando gets 2 hits in and gets the drop, that's not cool.

it definitely relies on folks having a community attitude and letting others know when the deer is downed, which definitely doesn't always happen

you don't always know who else hit the elder or proudhorn sernuk since not everyone actively hunts them down to the kill - so yeah that plus glitches with loot bags ending up in a different spot than the kill means the loot bags can easily be missed. having a map pointer would be another option

And the biggest problem is there’s always those people that won’t let you hit the deer even once

It's also complicated by different ways of hunting. Some like to hit it with 1 dispel arrow, follow until it settles, and repeat. Which works mostly fine when alone. And you have those who want to finish it before it can even teleport once. It's not always malicious but sometimes it can fell like they don't want you to hit it. To be honest it's much worse right now because of the plushies, usually it's alright

I really wish they'd make it so that loot from hunting just goes right into your bag so that when people who join you on a hunt, especially disco deer, don't call out the loot then we don't get it, I was the one who started hunting the dd first then someone joined, my horn wore off and I lost where it went.

I always call out dd loot and flare it if it takes me less than 6 shots to bag it. But others aren't so kind. Please S6 just make the loot go straight to our backpacks when the animal is killed.

Has anyone else experienced when watering your new flower seeds they are no longer splashing water during the first 2 watering cycles?

ughhhh... i got the normal and proudhorn sernuk plushes pretty easily, but the elder sernuk plushie just will not drop. everywhere i go there's so many people hunting

literally stumbled into a star quality rainbowtip butterfly while hunting sernuks. the game would rather give me one of the hardest bugs to find than one measly plushie

Yes they spawn around 3am I've caught several using a buzzy jar I set it off around 2;30ish around hideaway bluff area good luck!

I got my regular one in Kilima to put your mind at ease , but it took tons.. of arrows, several trips out at 500 arrows each, so just keep trying, rng can be cruel

Is it just me or does bug hunting seem to level slower than other areas? It seems like you get nearly nothing for all the bugs other than the epic ones. 100% focus boost and topped off and its still a struggle to make a level....

Over 3k arrows and kills on sernuk ever since the patch release, hadn’t gotten even one plushie. Handed the switch to my fiancé and showed him how to hunt. Within 5 minutes of him hunting the regular sernuk plushie dropped for him in kilima🤦🏻‍♀️

Are the regular sernuk plushies at both Kilima and Bahari (I have received 2 different answers from customer service) when asking them.

solo, for me it feels harder to get the proudhorn one when it's more people, I prefer to just run after it a bit because when I tried with people I kept not getting a shot in before it was down
