The building made of tanks- how i would do that is make the walls and get them closer together using a gourmet bowl. Then put tanks on a industrial shelf and turn it inch by inch. To avoid the gap that woukd usually occur in the arch, as it looks like there is nine, i woukd attempt "sinking" it together. You do this by using the grid, and canceling placing. Theres quite a lot of tutorials even if you have to watch a few to pick apart what you need to do. Frist attempts might be unsatisfactory! But that is okay

Some of it works on console but theres far more tutorials, glitches and ease of use woth pc

You can do every glitch on console except obstacle flicking, although sometimes glitching can be a bit more tedious on console.

I hear that a lot but I have no issue using the gourmet bowl to move things, so im not sure if it would work for you

I don't think they did it intentionally. It just doesn't have a placeable surface on top anymore. You used to be able to use it to bump things upward, and then you could actually remove it and the thing you bumped stayed floating. If you've seen those stairs made out of floating pavers, those were made using the bowl when it could be used that way. The other bowl tricks, like group selecting to merge stuff, still work fine.

I absolutely love it. I think it's just such a fun puzzle to figure out how to make stuff work in ways that weren't intended. It can be really time consuming and frustrating, too, but I think I would be completely bored if I didn't have to kind of trick the game into doing what I want.

I use the cup on industrial shelves and plaxe them on top of each other to make short small stairs

Anything on the wall that you can place a cup on works this way too. Place shelf on wall, place cup on shelf, then group select! The elderwood shelves make cute side tables this way

My wife found a cool glitch with turning a stove upside down then you can run on your head lol

And the "spooky spiral cobweb" does the same thing but with even more versatility, because the cobweb can be placed on more surfaces. Basically when you group select you are transferring the properties of the bowl (or cobweb) to the item it's on, so that you can place that item anywhere where the bowl (or cobweb) will go. (I realize you probably know this, just explaining for others reading along.)

Do you make sure to use multiselect from a pillar/cup on the table to put it on your anchor ? That's the thing most people miss and that's what make it not work

I do it exactly how they show it in the videos with the keyboard keys you need to press but my item just doesnt attach to the anchor part it just sits on top when i move it and doesnt well sink

cancel place your anchor to the depth you want it to sink. place a pillar or cup on top of the table, multiselect by the pillar or cup and place on your anchor you can remove the pillar/cup and then pick up by your anchor

That's why you need to use multiselect When you're at the part to put your table on your anchor, put a cup on the table and multiselec (group select) from the cup to put the table on the anchor

Without multiselecting, your table simply won't link to the anchor

I have been gradually adding all the buildings to my village plot... I'm up to 22 now (if you count, you'll only see 20--there are two that are further out of bounds). I thought I would have a hard time filling the entire village, but now I might end up with more out of bounds--I don't know that I'll need all 8 I have left in those two open spaces, which I am still not sure how to fill. I have a lot of empty houses to decorate, though--13 of these have almost nothing in them. looks at empty houses, looks at item limit... 😬

Yikes. You can do what Lila did on her farm plot... she fenced off everything and enclosed the smaller space so people can't even get to the areas of her plot she didn't decorate. You would really never really realize it either because it's so densely decorated in the part where you can visit.

There was a person on reddit who complained that they spend so many of their LNY envelopes for lanterns for the Kilima Courtyard only for them not to work. I think they used the smaller round ones, because the longer ones worked fine for me. Only ceiling lights I could get to work!

There are basically two housing lines that do not connect to each other…. The harvest/grand harvest house and all the rooms/hallway/porch/door/fireplace/courtyard is the old housing line. The new housing line is the alchemist and estate base rooms, which connect only to themselves/each other.

I attempted this when I was on with a mix of estate and alchemist bases (because I didnt have enough of either) unfortunately I got an error saying no more could be placed despite being under the building limit? You cant connect that many without glitching, but it could be done yes. Youre under the 30 limit but have too many connected without glitching

Okay, dont build all of your buildings yet, I want you to connect some in an bracket form until you hit limit which is 10 (or 12 with kitsuu path completed) then put an un built building as close as you can to the others. Its not going to connect because its over limit and its not built so it wont even try. Keep fiddling until its lined up. To make this easier, get rid of the wall on the built side to line it up. Itll over lap but youll have a cosmetic gap you can cover with large furnature or rugs. Then build the one you jus placed, ans connect the rest in the loop, do it again if necessary. Be sure, because you cant move it once its there or it wont go back where you glitched it while it was not built

You can cover the wall gap with the alchemist or estate pillers, and the ceiling gap with the rectacular achmist roof

For occasional visitors, if my switch behaves. But I'm mostly aiming for a random plush restaurant with Maji, Riffroc and some floating bugs. I'll do an actual floating cooking plot once I gather enough gold to unlock a new plot. I will use the butchers block as a rainbow paver path towards the pond. It's where I'm floating the bug plushies too. I plan on using lunar new year decor, add more tables of a different decor set and display all the food from the stalls and might add some of the things I cook.

Can I ask how you’re using the room with the builder’s wood walls? It gives off the illusion of a much longer hallway.

I had a harvest house, hallway, large room, hallway and medium room and then used the builder's walls to partition off the large room making two rooms on either side (one small and one slightly larger with the window) with a hallway running down the middle and then popped a couple of wash hand basins at the end of the corridor and sectioned off the medium room at the end into two separate bathroom areas. The whole thing is a boarding house 🙂

Didn't you have this happen a while ago? I vaguely remember something about the piksii grove mist. Logging out and in didn't make a difference obviously? I think @signal thunder may have been thinking about doing something with the piksii grove too, not sure if she ended up doing anything. She might be someone to ask too. Sorry, can't help you myself as I haven't tried it.

Yeah i did. I've tried various glitch methods to see if the mist is tied to any of those, but it simply seems to be part of the problem that when the grove is underground the mist will not appear.

hmm, sorry, I can't help with that - upside down flow trees for the effect, yes, fountains for the effect, yes, virtually anything else but for the piksii grove, I haven't actually tried it so not sure about its particular peculiarities ... I might give it a go though and see if it happens my end ...

So you have two options... One is to place it on a red present (if you have one) because anything will go on a red present. The second is PC only and you have to flick it onto an anchor like a plate or a paver, but you have to put that plate or paver on a floor or shelf hanging over the out of bounds area (if you try to do it in bounds, the ground grid interferes).

Yeah, I had this problem with my turnip butt plushes. Its a bit trial and error until you get the look you want.

Yeah, you can only flick in the cardinal directions--north, south, east, west. You can rotate the thing you are flicking on first, though, and then flick, to get it at an angle. But obvioiusly this only works if you can move the thing your flicking onto.

As for flicking in general, the item you use to flick is what determines where you can flick things. Pillars are good, but the cobweb is the best, because it can be placed on the most surfaces. For the planters, you can't put a pillar in the planter, though (nor a cobweb), so you would flick with a flower that can be placed in the planter.

You want to sink them, so you need another anchor, unless you have a house wall really close by.

yeah the house is almost smack up against the terrace cause im building inside first and then putting in on the floated platform

Actually, it doesn't even matter, because you can reanchor it to the ground. But you can use the one cup method to sink it a little... put a crate on the side of your house (remember to pick it up and place it a second time to eliminate any weird rotation). Then cancel place the floor with your flower on the side of the crate. Group select with the crate and slide down and place the crate. But make sure you're not near any other builders items with that house wall or it will grab that stuff, too.

Then to get it anchored to the ground, put a crate on the ground nearby (less than 6 builders floors difference), cancel place the floor with the flower on the side of the crate. Group select with the crate and just pick it up and put it down in the same spot. The flower/floor is now anchored to that part of the ground instead of to your house.

One thing you might want to do is to put a pillar on the floor, though, because once you sink it, you might not be able to grab the floor again easily, although you could cancel place the terrace out of the way just for that last step of reanchoring to the ground (the floor with the flower will no longer be attached to the terrace once you do the sinking--it will be anchored to the house wall, so you can move the terrace out of the way if you need to).

Ohhh, yeah, because the floor is on the terrace. Okay, then cancel place your terrace out of the way and instead of starting with the floor with the flower on the terrace and sinking it, put it on the ground where you want it and float it a little off the ground instead (by sliding the crate on the house wall up this time).

You will still want to do the last step to anchor it to the ground again, though.

so what i did here was placed 6 on the very bottom and then one in the very front center then i stacked three across the top in the front and 1 on each corner in the back. opened the middle floor and created a walkway across. then you can either keep the walls closed with a doorway or you can open up. i ended up liking them closed. left was living room right was kitchen, then upstairs the first room was a bathroom and then you walked across the walkway to the bedroom then off the bedroom in the middle where i only placed 1 house was a balcony area

To add to this, the only thing they told us is that glitching isn't really "part" of the game initially (that's why we call it glitching), so if something breaks it's on you and they can't do anything about it

You can’t put flooring on walls on console because it requires flicking. But that flooring also just ends up looking like vertical stripes on the walls anyway. They don’t always look the same when you put them where they aren’t supposed to go.

You float wall decor the same way you float anything else, you just have to use an anchor that you can put the wall decor on. So you can use a builders wall or a crate or a red present, for example. You can float multiple things off the same anchor by just redoing the positioning each time you place and then cancel place your anchor.

You can do the apothecary. The best thing is you can make it how you want it to be. Apothecaries depend on your interests (essential oils, tinctures, teas, infusions, micro greens, drying flora...) and how cozy you want it (tea nook? library? Hobby room?)

It does not have to look purely medicinal. Its about whole-health....

And were the pillars way up at the top? They were probably floated too high. You can only float something about the distance of 10-12 small crates from the anchor.

The ones that didn't yeet were probably just barely within the limit, unless they were anchored to some other part of your build.

Yeah the pillars are pretty high up there but I think they are all pretty equidistant from the anchor with 2 of the 3 that stayed seeming further away than the one that didn't

If they are not directly above the anchor, then you can't go as high probably, because once you include horizontal distance, that height gets shorter (it becomes the hypotenuse of a right triangle, which is longer than the legs). I don't know exactly what happened in your case, but I know that floating has a limit per anchor, and it's about 10-12 small crates. You can chain your anchors if you need to go further than that.
