I can see that you don't have your main house turned the same way as in Fleurs video, this could also possibly be the issue

maybe try to rotate the room underneath, that fixes it most of the time for me at least

but I just tried to recreate it and it works perfectly fine no matter how I place the construction
so a relog might fix ur issue, would definitely do that first

I did anchorless floating after floating them off of each other. You can replicate it without that just by using 4 pavers, and floating each one 3 small squares off of the next so one connects to the ground

I had a little trouble at first, because there's nothing "in the way" on my room--I tried putting ivy there or another roof trim there, but then it doesn't even recognize the socket. So I stuck a builder's block on the side of the house and then I was able to flick the chimney on. So now I have a hobbit hole chimney!

I just had a similar problem and I stuck a builder's block on the wall to be in the way. Then I took it off afterward. You might be able to do something similar for the light.

Question! Has anyone been able to make a mirrored build work with the umbraan walkways? If so, did you have issues with it/do you have tips for it? I was finally able to get the sides of this to "line up," but when I'm building the loop at the top it gives me the space you see in the first image.

Curious if I should abandon the project/reconfigure my idea. If I've done something ridiculous and just don't see it let me know that too, please lol

trying to do a diamond window but like 4 of them together to make a larger diamond- and the two outer ones clip the curtain I got up

You can open the wall back up, cancel your wall with the curtains away, close the wall back up, place your windows, and then reload your plot. The curtains should be attached to the wall pieces you placed, so they should go with the wall pieces when you cancel them away, then they'll pop back when you reload.

You start off good, but you mess it up at the cancellation part You can cancel it really away from the doorway (personally I cancel it on a full square to be sure of my calculations) then put your pillar before the crate (not on it) multiselect how you did it and move it in the direction of your door (seems north on your game ?) the number of square you need and put it down

If you still don't get it, I can log on to do it and show a step-by-step screenshot

I can't get it to work with a roof on my house. There's nowhere to hang the lights from, so you'd have to figure out how to hide a floor or block in the trim. I did manage to do this on the side of my house, but you can't place the floor on the top of the roof, so that doesn't really help you. Then I tried sticking pillars up there, which does work, but the light doesn't end up where you want it at all and it looks weird.

Yes, the one thing I will say is that getting the lamp where you want it first is probably the best idea. It's easy to flick the trim on once your lamp is where you want it.

All right, I can get the pillar/group select method to get a wood paver on a wall as a shelf, but what do you do up near the ceiling? I'm doing it by placing the pillar on the edge of the paver and then group selecting from the pillar, placing it on the wall, then removing the pillar. But I need my shelf higher than the pillar will fit. Is there another step to take? I was trying to figure out how to do it with a pillar on its side, but I'm failing.

It's an old school coffee grinder, lol. They used to put the beans in the top, and the ground coffee would fall into the little drawer, which could also double as the scoop. Open it up and u have fresh coffee grounds.

There is some sort of pillar-bumping trick to put it into the wall.

You place it close enough, so you can ALT all..... but there's a tiny trick to it, so when you scooch it, the pillar stays disassociated and you can pocket it.

After you have placed everything you want place the wall/floor combi near the wall you want to place it. Take it outside and cancel place it on a wide area, take the small crate and place it nearby enough that it doesn't stick to the wall then alt select it on the crate and put it the small blocks back on grid mode so the (wood) wall is in the cottage/house but the food is on the house/cottage wall, Also don't do it to far back otherwise you need to remove the whole room and rebuild everything from the beginning ( not that it happened to me or something cough cough )

Try that : put a potato pod down, put the shmole in tab 1, take the potato without placing it and put it under you (make sure you are where you want it) then left click and maintain it, then click one 1 and stop clicking the mouse.

Like pick up the potato pod to move it under you without mainting the click, but once you ready to flick, click left again, maintain, press 1, release everything

Basically you put a box crate and then whatever you want on top of it and then put a rug and then group select using the rug to put stuff on surfaces like the prepping stations.

See my guess is that because the windows are added after the cottage A and B has reverted into a base room after being placed into the inventory. Then taken out and gotten all the ad ons again it's now technically not the same house. Because cottage B comes pre-made with the add ons.
Which is stupid of cottage A and B to revert into a baseroom since they're different houses!

With pre-set items. It's one type of house. With base room plus add-ons it becomes a different type of house

That's my theory. Since it works in cottage B but not in the base room

an easy way: using a builders wall and builders floor, you can rotate a builders wall on a shelf 90 degres, attach a builders floor to the rotated wall, then put the rug on the floor. once you pick up the wall piece it will make the rug vertical.

If u mean the roof connecter (the one triangle piece with the wood face) it is just to add little details outside, or fill the gaps between the roofs. It does not cut out where it is placed tho

Float it off of a terrace piece, or anchor it to a builder's piece etc, but that requires flicking

You can, you just need to place it on before u sink it. Once sunk it will no longer connect to the floor piece

Turn ur frame rate down to 30. Have ur object u wish to flick in ur inv. Place an object that will sit on the surface u wish to flick on into the world. Pick up that object and hold it against the surface u wish to flick on, and stand close enough to where it says something is in the way. Hold ur mouse button in and hit the number key containing ur object. It will place the object from ur inv and send the object u were holding back where it was sitting. This is PC only however not sure what u play on

The Builder Staircase. In a future major update, can we please have that connect to a sequence of blocks for homemade patios (like the "wall-less" capable cottage? It'd be nice to have neutral looking stairs with the Palian texture to it. Its easier to make a wheelchair ramp than it is to neutralize the staircase. I've used it on buildler blocks, terrain terraces.

Edit: I know that change could be possible in time... not expecting this tomorrow.

Sockets are a relatively new system for us and we're looking into ways to expand their use cases in the future. Inter-connectivity of all assets may be difficult but I can take a note of the request.

I need 10 more cottage to create the big open indoor-arboretum space for the main house, and then the second pic shows the scope of the terrain I am looking to build (Purple is like hard edge for the cliff edges, orange being overhangs) Then once I get that outline I will need a magnitude more terrain pieces to flush out the cave system inside it.

An intergration with PaliaParty would make things easier, plus help folks who "sign up" for their position, allow maybe some transactional bin so whoever is attending, you don't accidentally take someone's task. It all ingredients deposits into a bin of some sort so everyone can dip into it (I.e., someone has tomatoes, but does not have vinegar, so someone can hand off vinegar without losing their tomatoes.)
