Some of us don't even know how to properly fill that much space then.

I have seen many plots with an empty second floor but others who built an attic into it with builder blocks for even more extra space.

Also important to know: If you look for symmetry in your house, the GHH is tricky because of it's one sided staircase. See here how Theo struggled with that

In preparation for elderwoods, I downsized a lot. I found having a very small house aspect let me do a lot more with the outside/plot area and this allowed me to use the second floors for items from rooms that had previously been attached to other buildings.
The other thing to note is just because you have more space doesn’t mean you need to fill every inch.
One of my upstairs is a collections rooms with all my romance/friendship rewards and then the Starstones down one side

I went more for a garden vibe with my plot, so I focused immensely on the outside instead of the inside. I have a GHH for fish/upstairs is a WIP/TBD, a GHH for restaurant (all cooked ⭐️ available, Maji market, lunar market foods) with upstairs being all friendship/romance, 3 pavillions (1 gardening, 2 plushie barns), conservatory for bugs, and then on HH for my “house) which has 3 medium rooms and a couple hallways

this - i am purposefully keeping my home small. Currently it's a regular harvest house, 2 9x9s (bedroom and kitchen), 1 7x7 (dining room), and 2 hallway bumpouts (bathroom and backdoor exit). There's 3 bay windows too. I don't know if I'll ever make it bigger than that tbh. I'm already struggling with how to fill the main harvest house room in a way that makes sense when it's such a crossroads in the home.

The crossways definitely impact floor plans and if we ever get a more customizable placement option rather than nodes, we could definitely open up a lot more options for decorating

I made my aquarium the smallest I could while still being able to move of course, I prefer playing the the lighting over very impressive stuff witch floating glitches, it is very cool and impressive, not my way though. However I am a SLOW decorator it's not even funny, I can spend hours in one corner barely making changes in the end

buuutttttttt i have also found im a much more "realistic" builder than many palia players - i don't go towards big crazy rooms with niche purposes, i don't want to fill my plots with plushies, i tend to think realistically about how the space would be used and lived in and what someone would need for that. I don't mind clutter (love it in some cases) but I do it very intentionally and not just for clutter's sake. I try to be immersive I guess.

Last night I shared my fish collection in the #🐟│fishing-mining mining channel.

It was clear for me from the beginning, that I wanted to utilize the big space of the GHH for a showroom/museum type like building.

Second floor is for bugs, starstones, trophies and the bigger showcases from the skill shops

attic is for displaying plushis (but I'm not happy with that yet)(also hidding all my gold there, but pshhhhht XD)

I think my opinion on GHH would be different if you could snap rooms off the second floor as well...the upper level is so narrow and weird, it's just a glorified hallway but it doesn't lead to anything. also if the stairs were symmetrical

1st - no idea but we can try doing some trouble shooting if u want; 2nd - yes but with flicking :V. 3rd - glitches dont work on switch due to it not having keyboard and a mouse as inputs (many more options of what can be pressed at once and keybinds) so I would guess nope

also it might use the switch version of palia interface and then even if u can get the keyboard or sth still it wont let u use the keys - BUT that im guessing

But then again just as colors i think the calathea palette is lovely. I think part of my gripe with it when I try to use it (or many of the dyes tbh) is that the colors don't feel like they're realistically applied to the furniture. Like all of a sudden there's hot pink metal and I'm like??? It would be nice for things to have a realistic metal tone to accompany their palette at least (ie a rose gold for calathea)

What I would really love is for palettes to literally be palettes and we could choose from a set of colors to actually dye (or leave default) different parts of the furniture. I.E. you just want to change the cushion color on a bellflower chair. Or leave the gold accents. Or change everything but maybe you want to flip some of the colors around from the default. You could even have a default quick dye option and the more custom way. But I doubt we would ever get this, it's a lot of work on S6's end.

The main driving factor in the game to actually do the gameplay is building. Like that's what we're grinding money and materials for, there's nothing else to put it in like clothes or something. I'd love to see them give it more flexibility and options. 😩

Like if you look at sims or even animal crossing (whose furniture system is kinda similar to palias) and look at different builds, there's a lot of different aesthetics people have accomplished and builds feel different even if you can identify common items between them. I feel like Palia is a lot of the same most of the time by being limited to so few sets and palettes?

What I'm getting at here is that it is important to not become reliant on 1 singular glitch. The reason people watch me work & it occasionally makes their head spin is that it's in the application.

As in learning all the different tricks/glitches then weaving them all together.

I think of glitches like tools, if/when S6 blunders into breaking one of them - I get a different one out of my box.

Ok so i went diving into my dm with mei and since i had the same problem what i did was change my frame rate to 165…and then u actually don’t need to do the extra key and u could probs just use defaulted left clicking!

So when u place ur block some where, click it to drag it back to u to the point where it says u cant place it. Then when u continuously click left click to “place” quickly press ur number key where the wallpaper is

Another solution that I've seen people do are "implied" or "Faux" windows:
"Implied" - would be where you make the window frame & just leave the space where the glass would be as an empty cavity.

"Faux" - would be were you make the window out of mirrors. You aren't able to see through this version, however from the outside this one can have a more "finished" look.

Either you glitch it to an anchor and hide the anchor somewhere in your decor, or you could try to use the obstacle flick method (There're loads of tutorials on youtube for those techniques)

Sketching can be a good idea for paths to begin with, you take the place where you want the path and simply draw a line Then you follow that line in-game with pavers, variating the shapes and rotation a bit and voilà~✨ Sometimes adding little builds can really spice up your paths and variates their directions a bit

It's actually real simply. The hardest part is fishing up the Makeshift Window Shelfs.
I just attached the Shelfs to a wood pillar. using cancellation to offset them slightly so they look attached to the wood pillar by the hinge.

you place them on a shelf and rotate the shelf as you place the ones you want in an angle. when you finish, the first one will be vertical

You need to use something (usually a bowl or a pillar) to multiselect, only then you can stack items (it works for tables as well for example)

You could put them on builders floors, but it'd require o-flicking them

However, you can place them down on a terrace with no problem at all

I really hate that the item limit is only 3,000 it's do understand ya know because of switch players it's like that with any game that allows switch players to be play the game. But there should be a toggle to only allow them to see up to 3k items

Like why do I have to spend hours glitching to increase the item limit on PC smh or make mother plot designs because there's a limit they I wanna do that all day lol

Oh yes, now I know what you mean! I don't know how to glitch with this, I'll admit... I manage to glitch the gardening terrace by putting it in the makeshift tent and using a mug to move it onto my other plot, but I've tried adding trees, even just a seed that's just been planted, and when I want to remove the tent to glitch, I can't because it gives me an error message. If you have another technique with these terraces, I'd love to hear about it!

While home touring, I can across one the of most lovelies home plots called “HoneyBee Acres” and was in completely blown away! Their creativity and the attention to all the little details is something I hope I can get good at one day. Yesterday, I had this idea for my courtyard. I wanted to put down stone floors, and then the red brick pavers on top.

However, the problem with this is that when you place things on builders floors, if you place on the grid, you can only place on the grid lines. You cannot place between grid lines. Since I wanted it to look even, I wanted to place on the grid. However, placing on the grid lines means that the pavers would be off centered.

To resolve this, I had to do the cancellation method on each paver by .5x.5 before placing the paver. I had to do this for each of the pavers. All of them individually placed because I couldn't group them together or grass would stick through the floor once I placed it in the court yard.

The court yard space is fairly large, so I had to do this for 25 stone floors.

The whole process took me like an hour of work.

After I did all of that... I thought of a better idea, so I scrapped all of what I had just done, and started something completely new, and I'm glad I did. because the outcome was far better.

I don't struggle with scrapping what I worked on, even after spending hours doing it. Because each time I do, I get better and better, and each new reiteration is better than the last. And it's not like this game is going anywhere. I have plenty of time work on it.

Likely because the bookcase is clipping through the floor. Just cancel-place the bookcase outside, and then **place **the anchor inside. The bookcase will snap back after.

They will still be attached to your anchor, and move with the anchor as you move the anchor, so you have to be mindful of that when you cancel-place them.

That depends on your glitch If you only use the shelf to rotate or something like this, as long as your glitched item is anchored to something else than the shelf, it shouldn't be a problem

Some people here realized that you can actually keep doing left click and o-flick easier that way (Personally, it's 50/50 imo) But some say it's easier, you keep clicking and only when you release it do you quickly click the key of your hotbar (Hope it makes sense 😂 )

Yep: take a piece of food, place it on the floor. Drag the food over your body till it says "somethings in the way". After that press the keybind button of the tree. For me it was 1 and it with flick the tree inside. It's basically the same method as putting the wallpaper on the floor. Mine stayed when I reloaded into my plot so I hope it stays lol

Aw this is my plot, thank you so much for the sweet words 🥹 His 'Hat' which is technically a potato pod lol is floated with one of those presents. I used the cup to move the dresser into the wall and the mirror is attached to a pillar hidden away by the dresser. Also, i just seen your other message, don't get discouraged. The glitching can def be overwhelming, i usually go to my empty plot and experiment a lot and most of the time it is a lot of trial and error because my brain does not want to understand it majority of the time. I am so thankful for all the amazing people in this community and their tutorials. I would def start there and see whos guides or videos click and just have fun and mess around. I have also spent an ungodly amount of time in this game and i can't tell you how many times i have deleted or redid something over and over. So def don't get discouraged and thank you again for the kind words, it really has made my whole day!

There’s some pretty good ones I use routinely that are easy, but the room glitching and all that I haven’t tried. Definitely props to them though.

I am on here a lot, i just lurk. lol I was very suprised when i saw a pic of my plot pop up, i had to do a double take. I think a lot of the stuff i build is stemming from my frustation of not having a item in the game, so i try and experiment with other items to make something. Here's a trick I use. If I'm reloading plots fast for glitching reasons, I load into another plot, and then load back to the plot I'm building on really fast, and then i open the main menu and press Unstuck. If I'm fast enough it will teleport my back to or close to the location on my building plot where I was when I first reloaded to another plot.

The mittens are the Winterlights Mitten Decor, which is obtained from the kilima rummage pile during winter. The wallpapers are actually flooring but glitched on the walls. ( First wall is Apothecary Stone Floor & the 2nd is Blue Madder Tile Floor) I will say though the Blue Madder one will shift a bit sometimes when you reload so it doesn't always look the same all the time unfortunately.

i built something like this in sims once and came to the same conclusion lol...with yours, maybe some candles? ravenwood candelabra and small end table might be good for you. Maybe some homestead candles too to add a bit more layering/depth. ravenwood or bellflower flowers could also be good somewhere maybe?

Yeah, I had the same thought with the candles. But that plus flowers will be the last thing I add because I'm want to get the major things done before I hit item limit.
Right now I just am looking for a general idea, but I got something cooking right now, so we'll see how it turns out.

place flowe, fun fact - turn your head like u would look same way shelf is normaly placed - thats where your flowers will be

then i move the wall with the shelf on so it snaps if i want to anchor more in different spots on same piece

u should start with it, for this one best way is to find any YT tutorial, they are better to follow when u learning first time it

oh yes. I no longer work on anything that is attached to the shelf. I always cancel place the shelf with a long wooden paver on it. the object being thrown is what im working with. Being able to no have to worry about working into anything is a blessing haha.

there's a limit to the distance between the floating object and the anchor. if its too far, it'll reset. maybe that's the case?

As for your house in itself, I'm all in for cottagecore vibes Log cabin or homestead is really a go-to for it in my opinion, and a small house is a good idea The only thing I'd change, but that's just my personal taste speaking, is the wallpapers... A bit too much going on (But that's just my brain short circuiting from the moment more than 2 wallpapers are used )

I play since 15 months and have different plots i am working on. My first one, thats my " home plot " is the one i learned and has all my awards & prizes plus it is part of a story i am going through with little decoration challenges.
After a 25 year gaming break ( ps1 with lara croft 😅) my kids grown up, Palia caught me back into the game world. To make the story short:
I put over 2000 hours in this game so far and i don't regret one second, but why is it so hard to get votes for at least one nameplate😩
I still work on my other plots as i did all the quests and nearly all collections, but the house-tour part of Palia is nagging me the most. How can i reach more people to visit?

As a fellow cottagecore decorator, you could try:

• more light (lots of warm/cozy light, candles, etc)
• different wallpaper like lyra suggested (floral, wooden, stone, paneling, ivy)
• mixing furniture sets (i personally use a lot of homestead, kilima, log cabin, camping, makeshift, bellflower, moonstruck, and ravenwood)
• lots of wooden/natural/handmade furniture items (logs, animal stuff, etc.)
• vintage-looking pieces (ravenwood and bellflower are good for this)
• lots of plants! (cannot be overstated)
• warm and desaturated colors, nothing too bright (including warmer tones of cool colors, ie mossy/olive green instead of a bluer shade of green)...i use natural colors, autumn, calathea, alabaster, and occasionally classic as far as dyes go...don't be too matchy, everything should be mismatched/eclectic

Focus is also not the same as an energy bar.
You can do everything you want at 0 focus.
You just get less XP for it, to level up your skill

However, keep in mind that most floorings will change on the walls tho It won't look the same
