I think it's understandable people can be upset and have heavy feelings - as long as its being kept respectful :) Friend and I were really excited for the update as well, him especially since it wouldve been his 1st time with the spooky store, so obviously theres disappointment. There's also always frustrations at the, admittedly, increasing amount of bugs after patches, but as long as they do get worked on and eventually resolved, I think it's okay. Again, as long as people are respectful, I think a bit of sad and frustration is okay. Healthy to express feelings in a proper manner.
But also, yes, it is a free game, but of course we'd want the money spent to go toward development, and not just development of new store outfits, but also ingame things, like the spooky store, the new housing features and the barn! ❤️

the consistency with which the free content is pushed aside is what gives me the ick here. I don't mind paying for the content, like I said I really do like the fact that I can contribute in some small way. But when it starts feeling like a money grab, and it comes at the expense of the vast majority of their player base, it feels icky. It's the absolute consistency with which this happens that is bothersome to me. Once in awhile? Sure. Halting player progression on a main story line for a full month for every single player without addressing it while making sure to address the issues in your paid store? Ick.

Whilst I agree with you, I also think that having issues addressed a lot slower if they are free compared to what they are paid for does give a very money hungry impression.

Though I personally don't see why people are this upset about a small part of the update. Its clear that no one, including the devs would want this to happen. So making a big deal out of it seems not worth it to me.

I think it's pretty normal for people to be disappointed something major (that was hyped up) isn't being included in the update. Mind you, we all just found out a little bit ago. I'm hella disappointed. I missed out on it the first time it was released, so of course I was excited- as were many others. Completely valid to be upset. I also want to mention that the last update was also broken upon it's release and it took about 2 weeks for us to see dailies get fixed... it's not our first rodeo.

I bought it last month and liked it. It’s 4.99 if I remember correctly and you get 1,000 some odd coin, if you miss a login day they give you double bonus days to make up for those days. Only downside is you’re waiting longer to get all the coin (495 at purchase 900 over 30days) but you get more coins over time. I think it was worth it specially if you don’t have a lot of money to drop atm. Hopefully this helps 🙂

Error 403 is because you are not allowed to log in so dont. Even if you do get to log in right after maintenance is over the servers will be really really overloaded and buggy. That is not due to buggy code but due to the sheer amount of people. It is better if you just turn on a movie and log in in an hour or two and the server load will have gotten lighter, meaning a better and smoother play experience, and your stress levels will also be better. Yes dynamic server load adjustment exists but honestly would you be keen to pay 3x or 4x just for the 1-2 hours after maintenance has happenend and all the people rush in at the same time? I wouldnt either so please spread out your login to be easy on the server

This is hectic, I'm new, and I'm typically a lurker in places like this because I initially feel socially awkward even in online forums. But I just wanted to say it is SO HARD working on any media and having to manage the expectations of hundreds, let alone thousands, of people. So many people don't know what goes into developing a game. Big game companies have story writers, programmers, community and social media managers, etc. Huge teams coordinating to time drops and support the ongoing player experience. Small teams are doing all of that with a handful of people that are probably filling multiple job roles to keep things moving. I don't know the full story with the Palia devs but just throwing the reminder out that there is so much work behind the scenes to even just organize deliverables. It sucks to wait but like it's also probably a very stressful day at work for some devs. 😭 ANYWAY... back to lurking and waiting.

GUYS HELP! I don’t have a Palia account because I didn’t create one when I joined on my Switch but now that the game has updated is asking me again if I want to link one
Will that mean that I can now play on my PC with the progress I already have or I should just skip so I don’t risk losing the progress on Switch in case it creates a new game?

Love you devs! Take your time! People shouldn't be rushing to get on before it drops ofc there will be issues or even within the second it drops. I always wait a good hour or so to avoid breaking the game there's always a queue anyways. Be patient. Make a snack and hydrate!
