I only just reach lvl 10 in most of my skills. I found the grind to get to 10 was longer than the following levels because after 10 you start getting better items and more starred items so you level a bit quicker. You also get better at the skills as you do them, you'll get there!

Star veggies/fruit generally give you more money. Starred apples tend to be the money maker. I do starred corn cause I have way too much and get decent money.

Others swear by the pumpkins, beans(though since it now takes 2 beans for 1 seed i think those are out of the running), and others do starred blueberries.

I use star beans and throw them in a preserves jar. Few days in-game and like 30 min IRL and they give 285 focus each. I have 2 jars running and two crops, and have a stock pile for 300+ in storage. I hate cooking, haha
