Okay so the friends tab is the O key- tap that and select the big ol +manage friends button there, then be sure you're adding your friends by their full correctly spelled IGN (in game name).
Then to play together, the best way is to party up with them (also in the friends section- the third lil tab within that area), then you can server sync with them by finding them in your friends tab and selecting the option next to their name!

And in simple terms, you can mostly only play with pals in certain areas of the game- there's no true co-op here (yet!) as in no shared plots or ways to build homes together technically.

You can only build, craft etc on your own plot- your pals can only move decor items that are already placed on your plot and vice versa, they can help you farm but only tilling, watering, and weeding. You'll have to give your friends editor perms for moving things around or chopping trees/mining rocks off your plots- mind that these things are not things that regenerate!

But, using it as advertisement on storefronts, without credit [which I acknowledge you said it's not an option], just feels really... morally wrong to me. Just makes it feel like [to me], it's the playerbase making the content for you. I know y'all said you would probably go in unreal or the engine, to take better screenshots, but still.

There's already so much distrust and animosity between the community and S6 having built up from all the ways in which the community has felt betrayed over the last... what... 8 months or so? It's gotten worse and worse, more and more being done that seems in bad taste towards the community and you as a company have given us little reason to trust that you have good intents. And now, even if you claim the likelihood of use is low, the fact that you open up the option to use other people's work as your marketing material - particularly with the already strained relationship between the community and S6 - it just seems like you've got a blindfold on.

In game. Since tours should be fun instead of being a full time job with the requirements. I don't interact with tours personally since pre release I saw it being.... What it is sadly. But instead of people spamming daily, hourly and all over the Internet setting a monthly theme might encourage users to be more creative with their other plots and even get others involved who might lack inspiration. I would of loved a winter wonderland section to look through over the hoildays pre snowball drama (I had to dip due to users threaten people with snowball flashbangs yey cosy game uwu) or Halloween a spooktacular plot... You have paid landscapes even that could be marketed better using tour boards...
As I said I don't like the tour system as a whole but I am one person in a sea of many and I do hope one day the tour system can be something fun instead of a spam endorsement for the community (like the channels were made for a reason they get everywhere check your twitter/x even) and fyi to whoever sees this my hate for tours is the unrealistic number requirement that requires other people instead of your own personal gain and efforts

There's so many ways to do it too, doing a text-based Q&A. Or a little questionnaire type thing and people pre send in questions and whatnot. I totally get only wanting so much of yourself out there, especially as a volunteer.
It's difficult when you are a representative of a company/brand because of your role, volunteer or not.
Also totally get wanting a CM to be present. Facilitating something like that would take time and with it being unpaid on top of everything else, it can be rough.

Honestly, I am probably the least impressive of all the mods. I've been around since wave 2 of pre-alpha (not saying this as a flex, I swear), and I have a chronic case of "need to start over to get back into the game", which I haven't done with Palia... yet.

That's deeply disappointing that S6's moral compass is that broken then... but it just shows that not much has changed over the many months then. It'æs just the same old S6. Educated guess: I'mma guess it's only a matter of time until we get subscriptions in the game too just to round out the business too, right? Just to make it that bit worse.

There's plenty of ways you could show what Palia is about without relying on using your players as a further business opportunity besides the already skewed and broken systems you have. Host community events and talk about that in your news posts. Fix house tours 'cause that would be a great tool to show off plots (instead of the mess it is now). Make the game actually work ('cause it doesn't matter how nice the plots look, so many people barely play it anymore because of the absolute broken state it has been in). Spend time with the community in meaningful ways that isn't just to exploit them for the business opportunity with little compensation. Involve the community in actual gameplay related stuff.

I am failing to see where you are stating that the primary focus is earning the lost player trust of current or previous player. Because these new players won't stick around seeing that the game has had things like seizure triggering flash effects for a year... some may, not a lot will not, not when there's other free games out there offering things current and previous community members are begging for and we get told that we need to "value" what is already out there.

Just having "players made this" isn't what makes word of mouth go. Having a functional game, regular community engagement, etc. makes it go a whole lot more.

So here's my feeling on this. I hear what you're saying. It makes sense. In this particular context, we felt that some players might think it'd be cool to do. We're not taking any jobs from anyone and we're not asking anyone to work on our behalf. I can see where that doesn't sit right with some people due to similarities to situations where it does take work away from people, but I think that it'd be a stretch to put this in the same bucket. And if some folks would be excited to participate, I don't think it's correct to take that away because others don't like it. Maybe that's wrong. I've never had a seizure episode but all the flashy/animated cashs hop outfits were triggering really weird feelings in my body and I had to stop playing on top of visability things, sound issues (overstimulation due to lack of ability to turn down waterfalls/etc) and so on.

I could have come with some comparisons that wouldn't be very flattering, but I don't want to incite stuff any further 'cause the comparisons surely would. I stand by everything I've said, and still believe that to be correct and true, and I do still think this is really bad taste on your behalf.

Had this been an isolated incident of bad taste, fair enough, I'd still have said my opinion, but would eventually have just left it as "we all make bad decisions here and there". But as I said in a different reply to someone else, it's just the same over and over, now with more words. It's one bad thing after the other, and it's tiring. I used to have high hopes for this game, but at every corner it's been getting worse: more bugs, gaslighting (yes, actually), constant bad takes, and sweeping concerns under the rug, and now it's the same but with a bit more words since S6 is now present through you.

It’s crazy! I don’t experience seizures or migraines, but even I can notice the horrible flashes not only with the snowballs, but with loading into new areas and whatnot. I genuinely got concerned when I first got the sudden flash and thought about those who may be affected. It’s odd how some people lack basic levels of empathy and understanding when things don’t directly affect them.

To extend on this. When the patch for trading got added you changed the lighting and such to the game making it unplayable without the use for 3rd party software is there any chance that's been added to the list? Looking at the game caused intensely worse pain than ever (I did change to the darkest settings but playing palia horror mode isn't the vibe) the game was pretty much fine up until that patch tbh but now I can't play to long (currently not at all since the flashbangs) but I know since it's an accessibly thing they tend to get forgotten about

I actually don't know much about the snail, so I don't want to comment. What it looks like to me occurred was: a snail was supposed to go in the game that was on dev environment. The asset was created on dev and sometime between the asset being created and the patch going out the snail was changed or removed, possibly by accident but more likely for a specific reason (e.g. the 3D model was broken somehow and causing performance issues). The same communication issue that led to the person responsible for the patch notes not knowing the asset was out of date led to the communication error where someone thought the snail was the Li'l Snail Plush. That's my guess. But I don't know because I was not directly involved in the creation of the snail, the patch note asset, nor the message in palia status. And were I to confidently say something now, there's a good chance it would also be wrong.

I don't know if you've seen it but the lovely Fern here has an entire list of things causing those white screens/flashing!

I was having some big issues with trying to play Hot Pot and people having such flashy outfits, it was making me woozy and head felt weird and I'd literally never felt like that in my life. Scared me half to death tbh. Then don't get me started on the audio problems, their crappy UI, and other parts of the game that trigger issue with my autism and ADHD.

Yeah we've had at least 3 times I can count since open beta where seemingly minor lighting fixes caused major issues for groups of players, despite significant testing. I can't speak to the specifics of this one, but I know in each case the dev team has been pretty passionate about fixing it. Lighting is complicated though so some of them have been pretty hairy to solve.

Going along with this though why did S6 choose to show off new colors, and all we got was current recolors added to the furniture that didnt have any. I do think that the ones that didnt have any it was a good addition, but in the preview Black, White and Brown recolors as well as others were shown and thats not what we recieved. If you have any clarification on that it would be appreciated.

Ok, it's very simple. Trailer had a snail on the little stub. Patch came, no one found snail, people asked about it. After a long time, S6 responds saying that the snail in the trailer is the same as in the claw machine. I posted comparison shot proving it is not. And that's all that ever happened: Essentially saying "yeah, no your eyes are wrong, it's the same snail as in clawmachine (even if you can prove it is not)".

And again, if you said "I'll look into it and see if i can address it soon" that's fine. But again I see no intent of doing that, no intent of really taking the criticism (which here is about communication), and just purely defense.

I'm extremely greatful that there are passionate people out there making 3rd party programs that help people play. We cannot endorse them because we can't vet them (they're definitely use at your own risk), but for the genuine ones that are just there to help I'm very appreciative.

It genuinely seems very sporadic. Not too sure what is actually causing it, or even when. The main random flicker/flash is when changing zones, though [in my experience].

It was an internal miscommunication. The people making patch notes are not typically the engineers or artists that are putting content into game. So it requires some degree of human communication. Human communication can be error prone, and neither the folks working on this specific feature nor the folks working on the patch notes noticed it in time in this case. It's unfortunate.

There should be an option/slider because I know night blindness is a very common issue too, and it might just push the issue from people sensitive to light over to the people who need the brightness! 🙂
I believe a proper brightness slider (or one at all) has been one of the most requested things on here, and i absolutely agree.

Yeah there's a few no go areas I tend to avoid it's been trial and error since I use something else.. I was lucky to have friends irl to help me find appropriate settings so I use to get a good 30 mins before I would wander away

I work in higher education in financial aid in the US. I can confidently say that it is vital we do not put out misinformation which means consulting with subject matter experts to check what is written is accurate, done so by other people.
There is ZERO reason a company asking players for money shouldn't be able to manage that.

This is part of what makes it hard to fix. If we can't isolate root causes or when things occur, they can be especially difficult. People on this server like to talk about a "simple" toggle to just turn off all vfx but there's no such thing in our game - there are basic game functions that depend on vfx.

I thought about this shortly after the recent update and basically knew that the dev team and update team are not on the same wavelength 😭 I also have another theory that perhaps the new color ways showcased in the trailer was meant to be released, but something happened and the update was to close for the animation team to edit anything.

If the game gets removed, i believe it has to go through the whole process of releasing once more, which can take a long time, especially during busy times of the year. Also, they might just be "Why did you remove it if you just release the same game again? I smell scam" and just say no. It would also be unavailable during that time, i believe.

Sure. We 100% apologize for the miscommunications and the impacts they've caused. Especially since the second miscommunication talking about it being a snail that it wasn't after the first one with the snail that wasn't in the game makes it all feel particularly frustrating. And then further I can see how frustrating the silence would be after that and how that would make it seem like we didn't care or weren't listening and I apologize for that too.

I can offer this apology, but I can't offer a solution yet. To do that right now would be pretty disingenuous, since I haven't done any root cause analysis nor have I investigated what it would take to get the original snail in the game - I don't know what was wrong with it. But I can promise to go find answers to those questions and come back to you with some.

I know it's not the best apology because actions are what matter but it's the best I can offer in this moment, and I promise it is genuine.
