I don't believe skill level matters so much as you being able to have the right incredients for the event, but there are also tons of beginner-friendly cooking parties where you just operate the oven (doesn't require any skill or ingredient on your part) or mixing/stirring a cooking pot on the oven. Take a look and see if something interests you. Otherwise, I do believe Jumami hosts/holds a lot of cooking parties too and I'm sure they'd be happy to have you join one of these days.

Is there any fix for the bugged out Stormseeker medallion chest in the windy ruins tunnel? The chest is seemingly invisible/underground, it shows me the Loot button but it doesn't actually work.. I've tried relogging and it doesn't fix it

You may have already found that one. There's a bug right now causing chests to appear even though you've already looted them before. So you can see them, but it won't let you loot them a second time.

If there is another bug causing that particular chest to be weird, I'm not aware of it.

When you use a skill and gain XP, that bar will decrease based on how much XP you earned. So it doesn't need to be 100% full all the time, but once you notice it starting to get low I would fill it

Honestly it's been a joy to see people's concepts of "home away from home" in Palia. Home Tours has been incredible for that. I was hesitant about putting my main plot because it's at full decorating limit and also because it's my "baby" so to speak.
