In my experience the catch rate seems to be the same, they just have different perks. The only exception being the supreme smoke bomb of course. That one has a 100% catch rate.

For cakes, it's all dependent on how many others you do it with. One blueberry starts an entire three batch cake round, if there's a full party and that's all you have to contribute, it's more profit to do cake

So, sorry.. partial answer. Communities in the game are just like a group chat inside of Palia.. it's limited to <30 people I think. With discord, you can have group chat and gifs and coordinated events, etc.

It doesn't really give you any value to do it.. anymore so than finding a group of friends on Discord
