The tables seem to function almost like a party in that you 'join' when you walk up to a specific table, so I'm actually not sure how they'd be able to instance it so that everyone could join the same table. The game might not know how to 'assign' four people together. Whereas with the wheel there's no party being formed, just an RNG drop with a visual.

Documenting these pain points, maybe S6 can evaluate what's going wrong with the game and engineer clever solutions. People clearly like hotpot to the point where they're doing battle and hissing at newcomers, so maybe hotpot just needs to be built better with regard to preformed groups. A private table at home that's only active during market hours seems like the easy solve there.

I think you can still end up on maps/activity interfaces with blocked users. They've been making tweaks to make the server 'smarter' about who it pairs together, but hiccups are inevitable.

I'm assuming that's a probably. Not a 'for sure' The Game does a really good job of putting you on servers with those on your friends list, and keeping off of servers with those that you have blocked. But it's not perfect. It does help tremendously. So I've gotten into the habit of adding really nice players. I do ask first though :)

It blows my mind that Palia's got a basic loop but only a handful of group activities. I really do think that's why we get so much strife over flow trees, hotpot, and palium (less now than before, but still), because there's precious little we can do together, so we have stress and anxiety to try and do it with our pals to the point where randoms seem annoying. You get this sense of pressure and negativity when you're supposed to be delighted to see other players.

Initially i thought it was only 4 per item. I havent seen 5 of the same items but Rosa did.

So if each item has 5 tiles, thats 15 per category (meat, vegetable etc). There's 8 categories in hotpot, so 15 per category * 8 total category = 120
