This is a screenshot from before we had the ammo pouch, but it's basically the same thing. I fill the inventory up with fences so that anything that drops more than 1 thing has stuff sent to overflow. If I get to 30 meat I stack up a few fences and split the meat stack.

So all stones and gems from mining, all chapaa meat and tails, all muujin meat and pelts, all sernuk horns and hides, and (almost) all rare and epic bugs get sent to storage instead of clogging my inventory. If I chop flow trees the non-flow wood gets sent there. If I want to get a bunch of regular wood I keep the fiber in my inventory and shoot all of the wood and seeds to overflow. That sometimes means I don't loot a tree.
