if you see them being requested that means someone else is asking for them. the biggest problem requesting crops at the moment is a lot of people that have them to spare only have star quality versions and these cant be gifted

the gales quest are an issue for some people (it was worse before the new map) they tried to adjust as needed but for some are unable to complete or need help from a friend/family member for various reasons

yea the harvest boost gives you a % for each day. so say for example it takes 5 days to grow the crop each day you put harvest boost on it will add 20% chance to get the boost so if you had 3 days of harvest boost and 2 days of weed free poop it would give you a 60% chance to get the extra crops. hope that makes sense

its a great game and a good community, however it is not an MMORPG in the sense of warcraft or guild wars. there are multiplayer activites and you can absolutely do pretty much everything together with your GF but at the moment there isnt much in the way of group content (dungeons/raids) that sort of thing.
But it is free to play im sure you will love it and the adventure is really only just beginning, im sure we are going to see so much more added to the game
