I mean, the game's rating is 13+, or at least that's what the team's aiming for; the ESRB rating is a completely different kettle of fish. I think it's fine that the game portrays this sort of thing; it wouldn't be the first game in the genre to have an unhappy home. Do you have your harvest house built yet? If so, go into your H menu, and pull it from the left side menu and plop it on one side of your house. Then you can exit out and go feed it materials, like stone bricks and wood planks

I have 7 seeders, 7 preservers, 10 glow farms, 3 smelters, a sawmill, a glasser/bulber, and a loom, which all run 24/7 IRL

Gotcha. At any time: there are blue grasshoppers in Bahari. They drop silk and are around everywhere and you’ll hate them if/when you try to use a buzzy jar to get a different rare bug, lol. At night, there are green lantern bugs. I’ve only ever seen them in south Bahari. I learned recently that they drop silk. Tl;dr spend all your time in south Bahari and you’ll be grabbing silk like gangbusters.

it doesn't take too long to get lvl 3 friendship if you manage to give liked/loved gifts. Precious stones give more friendship than other regular daily gifts

when you get to your menu there is a "relationships" tab that also shows the weekly wants and if you have given them a gift today yet or not. The weekly wants will unlock after talking to them and other villagers and asking them. So when you go to chat there will be an option that looks like a gift on the left which will ask them for something they want.

Ah that's good info too thanks ! Yeah I see the gift icon on the left when I talk to them but they snob me when I give them something.

you don't have to eat but you should in order to help you level up easier. You get like an experience boost when you have a focus bar so you get more from doing actions.

You can absolutely do cooking partied with no focus, especially after level 50
