You don't even need to move over, just recast it's all RNG so staying in the same spot or not won't change the chances of rarer fish biting. I usually cast into the water and play on my phone then check on the line if I don't feel like paying much attention

Only open the last portal on the last island AFTER you finish everything else and it's the last thing to do except get the 8th item for zeki. It brought back my progress to the beginning of gales for silverwinging it, and zeki is on the final island already so I can't talk to him

Fishing is actual c@ncer, don't actually use up your glow worms, if it's a fish or item you don't want just don't pull and it will go away, giving you a chance to pull out and then recast. So you won't have to use up a precious reource like that.
