They're bringing up new servers, which takes time. They're fixing a bug that impacted lots of systems along with many other bugs, and they're adding a bunch of new stuff. All of this takes time. On the bright side, they warned us in advance so it isn't a surprise.

Not really. Most patches don't have new servers, major repairs, and new content all on one, so the time is much less. There hasn't been a patch that took this long before, so there's very little downtime normally, it's not a big surprise.

Is it a known problem that some people can not complete the NPC Einar quests.. I'm stuck on lvl 3 in my relationship quest and not matter how hard I flirt it doesnt go higher and looks like there was an earlier quest at lvl 2 or 3 which can't be done and doesnt even show up for a quest. Never said they walk on water, only that you were exaggerating the downtime. This is the first 8-hour patch. I realize that people think it's a lot, but 8 hours isn't that bad especially with advance notice. It wouldn't come as a surprise if this longer patch speeds up the next patch as it probably frontloads some content.

I said people are complaining about the patch before the patch even started to be applied. Also i think people highly underestimate what making a game entails, especially online multiplayer. I get these problems suck but there is no need to constantly talk crap about stuff that isn't even out yet (not saying you are but i've seen some mean messages floating around), or complaining a patch takes too long. I'm sure the devs would make it shorter if they could. No studio wants to take their game down but it has to be done to improve the game so i think it's just more logical to complain when encountering certain issues instead of assuming the devs are trying to screw people over with a long patch. If they would communicate with every single person that is complaining in here they would not even be able to add one hat because there are soooooo many people complaining, even about things that aren't something the devs can do anything about I'd rather they work on the game than constantly talk to the community about every little thing.

Last few people I spoke with about it like the games and are not only streaming and spending their time at Palia, they're spending some of it on, My Time at Portia & My Time at Sandrock as well during downtimes (like now) or when they are tired of the same repeated playthrough or when more story/content is added into Palia. The story is about similar to Palia. In Palia it's mostly magic and humans vanished. In Portia & Sandrock<(the sequel) it's mostly technology and advanced civilization that was heading down a dark path due to pollution and would have cause extinction of not only mankind, but everything on the planet.

One good thing about downtime: I can finally focus on doing online shopping for shoes and a new noise cancelling headset, book an appointment with my hairdresser and browse for a new cat scratching post. Instead of getting distracted by the game.
