For real though, if anyone's a little shy about drawing but wants to do it anyway, I encourage you to go for it. I (attempt to) issue a weekly Palia-themed prompt over in #1135700370077782127 and I have a thread for it too ( #1135706312890646659 message ). The current challenge is basically anything autumn, and I hope to assemble a group picture of everyone's work tomorrow - and then issue a new prompt!

blackout bug causes you to be unable to request items you haven't had in your invetnory in the current play session. It's an old one, but it's spreading. S6 is aware and trying to figure out how to fix it

welcome to Palia! The only tip really is to have fun - as cheesy as that sounds hehe. There are lots of different skills and you might find you enjoy some more than others, and that's perfectly ok! If you want to make money I find ||bug hunting|| is good for new players, and then ||farming/gardening|| gives better money as you level it. Also ||mining|| is good now too as they recently added ||starstones, which are gems you can gift to villagers or sell for good money|| :)

Either, or both. I rarely can submit the how to produce/how it happens info, so no worries if you can't give that. I just tell as much information as I can about where I was, and what I was doing, and if they need more I know they'll ask (sometimes they request logs which are easy to find)

Reproducing the tree loot issue is chop a few trees around the outskirts. can't get any more specific than that tbh. but Kate experiences it as far as the statue garden, so now they have a wider range of effect

Generally other beta testing programs I've been part of appreciate it if you can include a description of what you were doing when it happened so that it's easier for their QA team to replicate! Screenshots, screencaptures, and descriptions of how it happens are also appreciated

Alpha and beta testing games is a bit of early access paired with a lot of random bugs. Sometimes the bugs are some of the best parts, though -- I mean, watching Ashura pushup his way down the street was pretty funny, as was being stuck in a T-pose one day as I ran around the map.

Honestly I love finding bugs. Part of it is that like, who couldn't laugh their rear ends off at flying around Bahari while t-posing, but part of it is like... I think for me it's just a quirk of my personality. My first thought when I find a bug is "HAHA can I get it to crash again???" — I like finding ways to break things, because then I could make it better. It's why I loved my old job as a freelance editor so much: grammar mistakes don't "bother" me per se, they amuse me and then I felt happy when I could take a chunk of text and make it polished.

Which reminds me, I've got a whole new batch of bug reports I need to submit for various grammar/punctuation errors I've found in Palia dialogue

I feel that way about a lot of the bugs - just not some of the bigger ones (like telling esche you aren't ready for the party meaning you can't do any of the questline, or the blackout bug that some have had for months)

Depends on the bugs... not being able to fulfill requests outside of being near my chests on my plot personally p*sses me off greatly, it was one of the few constant "social" things I had going besides the obvious callouts for resource nodes in the open zones

See though, when I find "oh haha my character just fell through the floor and then I lost half my stuff," I do immediately go "what the heck lemme try that again" or when I can't see dialogue or when something happens to my housing plot. I also like keeping other people from experiencing them

There are some worse bugs. Right now I'm unable to see many of my achievements/accomplishments as "complete" - they are temporarily broken. But it's not world-ending.

Definitely. And there are definitely times where it grates on my nerves too. The things that get me most are when unneeded changes are made. But I also love finding annoying bugs that crash my game and make me have to reload/backtrack stuff.

You're likely a minority there though, a large majority will hate crashes and backtracking. No hard feelings. I get your point to a degree I guess - some bugs can be charming in ways, there is "beauty" to a certain kind of "roughness". I still remember games like Battlefield 1942 where people would create entire clans and many stunt videos from bugs/glitches like when vehicles got flung up high into the sky by crashing them into AA emplacements. But some bugs should preferably never happen and just can't be fixed quickly enough.

True — see the thing is, it's not that I find them charming and don't want them fixed. I get happy when they're fixed. I just love fixing stuff, and poking the limits and breaking stuff is part of helping devs fix things.

Yeah, I get that, the notion of wanting to "push" things to their limits. If we aren't doing that with bugs we are doing it with the economics of such games, by figuring out how to min-max stuff. Or at least a lot of people do that. Imho sometimes they exaggerate it though a bit when it turns into resource competition and when it takes away the fun out of such games and turns them into jobs. But even so I'm still surprised by some of the bugs that made it into this game with the few updates I've witnessed so far since I've started the game. Like requests not working without you pulling things out of your storage. I'm struggling to understand how something like that can make it through testing assuming there was any kind of proper testing at all.

That's the point where I'm almost about to refuse to play the bugfinder for them. And don't get me started on those NPCs that visited my plot to gift me all their wallpapers. At least 1/4 or so of them had typos in their lines. Maybe I'm nitpicking there now, but still.

As they continue to add more things, new bugs tend to pop up. Having been in testing since the beginning, I've seen my fair share come and go lol. And this is still beta testing, technically.

The slow down benefit really outweighs using fine iron arrows with slightly higher damage, especially on the tier 3 muujin that goes invisible since you can see the slow cloud on it still

I'm afraid I only have a best guess; other people have reported this error message while collecting stuff, gardening, and trying to interact with items (like placing a quest item, for instance). It sounds like the game is checking to see if you have the 'right' to interact with something and that request is going haywire. If you haven't tried relogging yet, I'd see if that fixes it. If not, off to the land of bug reports.

Personally I think sometimes the road/journey is the goal, I like open world games to distract me with things, I wanted to go to Bahari to get resources XYZ but a group of people calling it some other stuff and some secret-ish way I didn't previously know about got me walking off my intended path. Would have missed out on that if I had clicked on some desired spot and then went AFK. But as an optional accessibility feature I guess it would still be okay. Not sure how hard it is to program this though. Honestly these devs already seem to be a bit stretched thin.

yeah, the point of the feature is not to take away, but to add. You can still stroll around if you want, but if someone doesn't want to, or if someone can't, they don't have to or feel like they're being forced to play a "certain, correct" way.

Don't wait but pick up any other forageables like mushrooms etc., there can only be so many of these on the map so if you can't find what you're looking for it's probably blocked to respawn by having too many of the others

Same with every other type of resources btw., if you need flow trees but can't find any you should chop down normal trees

I think S6 is on the right track with combining these systems and making this stuff a little trickier. It's hard to kill one of those magical muujin alone. Was in Bahari Bay and saw people form up to hunt them, using chat and all and zipping around the map. But I think that's why it's important to have some stuff that simply cannot be done alone, like hunting magical muujins or chopping down flow trees. I like my alone-time but also sometimes want to do stuff with others. What am I playing an MMO for, after all? And if just on an arbitrary base. Was mining some clay in Kilima some hours ago, saw someone fishing, put myself near them and did the same just so they would get that fishing buff - even though I wasn't actually planning on fishing myself. It definitely wasn't worth it for myself in any financial terms or whatever. But again: if that's the rule to by which one wants to play this game then mining ore nodes and farming starstones is all they should ever do currently.

A cake party operates like any other cooking recipe wherein specific roles and ingredients are required to make said recipe. A party consists of a certain number of people where one person performs one task each, and in the end, everyone reaps the same amount of rewards/xp. Joining a party in the channel already linked to you is the best way to get an idea of how they work.

You'll want to grab the "I'm Looking for a Group!" role in id:customize if you wish to participate in the #1143270926394335282 thread though.

Not all activities are for all. I'm not a huge fan of fishing either. So I'm not doing it as much. You can always try requesting some fish. Does the muujin's health reset once it jumps in a tree? I took a magical one out by myslf with 5 dispel arrows, but I feel like when they jump in a tree it takes forever to get one down

Rairty of fish could increase witht he quality of bait you toss in too, which could add a bait crafting skill as part of cooking.

We have a few water areas there, yeah. But just tiny pond-like ones. Would maybe need to be limited to pond fishes only? Or they allow us to move housing plots or decorate them in ways that we could have a river and an ocean too, maybe even a cave with water.

Yeah, It would be cool if they could make some things like FFXIV skill leveling, but that might be too complex for some people.

FFXIV actually removed their HQ gatherable items, because it just was a huge bloat and server drain. You can turn them into HQ items, but need to use the skills to do that

Some MMO's have duct-tape servers enough as is, imagine dozens of people all throwing actually rendered pieces for a sword on an anvil in a free-form fashion

That's what all MMOs or loot-based online games share to a degree though. Theoretically you could provide every player with infinite storage both on-hands and in home storage. But none of these games do that. Because they of course want you to spend time sorting inventory and stuff. All of that is playtime invested, potentially shown to your friends, sellable to investors as why your game (presumably) is so popular. I remember people complaining a lot about how Diablo 4 does it. The first thing I thought: "You aren't surprised, are you?"
