Reduce the raw value of the cake, and probably the fertilizer and worm values too, but leave the production amount of worms the same, so that it's not nearly as profitable to just make and vendor the cakes/worms, but still highly profitable to use worms to fish, requiring you to engage in more of the games mechanics to make full value from the process

Very rough estimate: the event ran for a month. A month averages 30 days. There are 24 hours in a day, meaning you had roughly 720 hours to complete the Maji Market tasks before the patch date -- and add in that you had an extra 8 hours because the patch got pushed back.

I'm not sure how many more hours would be required here to satisfy you, but would love to hear how long you'd like to see limited-time events running; I'm curious.

this is exactly why i'd love something dungeon-like where you don't necessarily fight, but you basically go on a 4-man "expedition" (such as cave diving, maybe?) that is affected by flow so it tends to "change" in terms of what you get every time (for the sake of diversity, this is all just throwing a rough idea on my end), and you can solve little puzzles or choose different paths and, if you're lucky, find a rare area where you can chop down a tree for a rare mood material... just something along those lines, you know? and maybe use your bow to hunt down creatures for their loot and all, idk

Yeah, giving out recipes for things instead of one item would in general allow people to make a choice creatively for more of an item. Such as the shoji screen.

And with recipes that item works back into the grind. They could make the Tori Gate SUPER costly so it is still a flex, maybe it needs a ton of flow wood who knows. However give people an option in the first place.

I understand your frustration, especially if you joined partway through the event -- but that happens pretty consistently throughout MMOs in general. People who join partway through an event may not finish that event, and there's not a lot that can resolve that.

On the bright side, the devs did say everything from Maji Market would be back in some way in the future, so you do have the ability to complete it later, but I totally understand where you're coming from.

It's easy to be dismissive when you aren't as affected by something. I'm a part of a group of disabled players. Homebound. People who invested a lot of time and effort into what was implied would be at least a day's delay. Getting materials together or chasing chapaas or whatever. The way they did this was, at BEST, rude and careless. Don't even get me started on the more likely scenarios, which are much less palatable.

I mean, Bahari City is hinted at in dialogue that doesn't mean it's coming this side of 2025. They can have something they plan to get to but haven't done any work on it at all, so you never know if/when dialogue will become reality.

You don't need epic fish for good poke, standard glow worm fish are still higher gold generation than cakes. 1 Dedicated player with a few dari cloves can provide a huge amount of gold for newer players who only have a couple crops.

The original update was scheduled for 8am Pacific time; it's now scheduled for 4pm Pacific time. So to answer your question, they originally tried to do it at a time that would have been during your work hours, but had unavoidable issues that delayed the timing.
