i think the biggest reasoning is that this game is supposed to be for a wide audience, including younger players, and all of the currently romanceable npcs have VERY ambiguous ages, and reasonably could be anywhere from teens to mid-20's. sifuu ashura and hodari are all firmly adults so i get the decision to an extent

I would suggest that any "glitch" that is intermittent, or only happens sometimes, may be caused by a server issue. My fireplaces work sometimes. Sometimes neither of them do. sometimes both of them aren't working. I've deduced it may be dependent on a particular server.

I know your pain, I started all keen, farming glow worms as fast as I could, logging on every day to drown another batch. Around 500 It stopped being fun and more like work. I tried the cast and recast method for a while, but that is mindless. I now have a few hundred glow worms living out their retirement in the farm.
I doubt I will bother again unless they implement a weighted RNG so we would get it in a reasonable time.

Seriously, Dari cloves and heat root are far too rare to be used in anything. I've found like 20 of each in over a hundred hours of game time.

They really need to just add some bad luck protection into it.
Something like start at 0% chance to obtain, and that chance increases by .5% per cast until acquired.
Even if the devil himself were against you, you'd still get it within 200 casts that way.

fish seemed to have been "nerfed" this last major patch.... bubbles spawn slower, and when using a glowworm, they error out//let the fish go instead of starting the reeling in process. Even the drop rate of epic fish have seemed to have dropped too. I used to get one or two epics a RL day... I havent been able to fish one up at all.

You aren't the only one whose complained about not getting the sushi recipe. I've seen it mentioned many times everyday since the last major patch.

Nerf the value of selling the cakes outright, maybe reduce the amount of fertilizer it produces, or reduce the value of the fertilizer, but retain the number of glow-worms it produces, so you can still make a lot of returns through fishing, but it requires effort/time, compared to the relatively low effort of filling one spot on a cake party (depending on your position there)

That is up to the player to decide if they want to grind for something or just play the game and get it whenever. Since events recur, there is no FOMO.

It's a matter of timing. If you cast, the fish bites, and you do not left-click, the fish falls off the hook. Once it's off, you can reel back in and re-cast (and you need to or you'll just have the same fish try to get on the hook) without losing the worm.
