If you’re referring to how we speak when it comes to moderation, then we do have to be stern but overall we’re not following some guide book on how to speak to others. Regardless, that’s just how we speak and if you back-read messages from channels, you can see we banter and mess around outside of formalities.

I do think “please refrain from sending such content,” sounds a bit better than something like “oi stop sending that shit lol.” But that’s just my own personal opinion. As I said, everyone just speaks differently, we don’t look down upon anyone.

If you’re not comfortable with how mods speak, then as I said before, you’re more than welcome to contact @misty pewter as that’s the best place to go for mod-reports.

Why should they? I think the focus on being professional and composed is actually a serious issue. It creates distance between you and the people involved in the matter, sets you aside as an "other." You treat whatever's going on as a problem to be solved, focusing on that, rather than focusing on the fact that we're all just people.

There isn't a real issue, moderators are also a members of the server who enjoy and speak freely with their friends, you can check my logs and see what I'm talking about, Lily was just redirecting you to Head mod mail because that's the place where you report a moderator or have a suggestion for the moderation team

When asking someone to stop doing X, moderators are required to make their verbal clear because we have had cases of people acting like they didn't understand the verbal warning (when anyone can really, even if it wasn't in a professional way), so to avoid this we tend to be more professional when it comes to these stuff

In mod mails we also have to get the point across to the members so we can reach a mutual agreement/common grounds, so we tend to be more professional, if someone was overdoing it then as Lily said its best to provide examples to HMM, but we simply won't remove the whole professionality thing for the points I mentioned above

Regarding this one, if people feel tense when a moderator comes and says "Please follow Rule 6", thats up for the people who are in there to decide what to feel. If they feel tense on it, that just means they are not spending much time on the server or channel as of yet. Our regulars know how we act when this situation happens and they know thats the way our work etiquette works.

I can say with absolute certainty that mods are not always professional; we've had plenty of fun discussions with others in various chats (for example: if you go to #・genshin-talk, you'll find mods like dylan, ika, emp, dan, suya, jm, lili, xyn, hannah, me, and more talking comfortably at various points with other members of chat). Engage in conversation with us, and we'll happily respond. Or, we'll go and engage in conversation as well. Looking in your chat history, you tend to talk (more recently) in #・tc-lounge and #958681411894792192, and, having been in the former a fair amount myself, TC staff are interacting with the chat all the time. It's quite hard to understand the issue that you're proposing without an example, especially when we all work to interact with the server as best we can already. We joined the server because we wanted to interact with this community and / or receive leaks, and that continues to be the same today. We aren't inhuman; we care about this community, and we enjoy this community.

the issue is that ghelp is a helping environment that welcomes players of all experience levels and those statements would not come across as jokes to many of the people we aim to aid in the channel. people who are unfamiliar with you or your style of joking would not be able to read those statements as jokes at all if they are not clearly marked as so with something like a tone indicator (/s, /j, etc). they are genuinely asking a question, and so, are expecting genuine responses.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask as I don't have full context of the situation but I've been lurking in #・copium for quite a while and noticed a recurring issue with one of the trials and their behaviour. I'm only speaking up about this now, after someone was banned for calling the trial out for their behaviour. I think it's important to address this issue before it gets even more out of hand

If possible could we have some clarification about the ban and the trial in question? Such as if it was a unanimous decision / was it justified or if the trials behaviour is acceptable, etc.
