I currently have it so that the shield is formed at the beginning of the burst but only lasts for 12/20s of the burst. So either you play risky for the last 8s or return early. There is no way to constantly maintain/extend it until her c6 which extends the duration of the shield based on the number of kills she gets in her burst. You don’t have to properly use her burst tho. As I mentioned earlier you can choose to return early (tap skill again) so by activating the burst (and getting the shield at the beginning) and immediately returning you can play her as a shielder for other party members.

I’m not sure yet, possibly though. I’ve been trying to figure out how targeting would work. I feel like it would be cooler if you fought further from your body and if enemies did attack the spirit form but due to how genshin’s aggro works there would need to be some amount of taunt on your body so enemies attack it at all (if not there is no need for shield and no choice in risk/reward gameplay as there would be no risk of your body getting injured)
If I can’t find a balance though, I think I would rather everything aim for your body and ignore the spirit than the opposite.
If you have any ideas of how to make it work I’m all ears :)

Catalina skills:
Normal attack:
1 tap summons an energy orb that will follow the enemy
Charged attack: after 6 energy orbs are summoned, Catalinas charged will target one enemy and will rapidly fire energy orbs towards that enemy.
Elemental skill: Tickaboom!
Catalina will toss a clock towards targets wich will slowly tick, taunting the enemy, clock remains on field for 10 seconds. When the clock time is up it will explode causing electro damage in a small aoe.
Cool down: 25 seconds
Burst: Last Shower
Catalina tosses a metal rod on field which collects all her elemental energy, when holding her charged attack, a rain of massive electro orbs will fall upon the enemies near the rod in a large aoe.
During the burst duration, Catalina will not be able to use normal attacks and will not be able to plunge.
Energy cost: 90
Duration: 7 seconds
Cooldown: 20 seconds
Burst damage: 162% per orb
Catalina if uninterrupted will release up to 25 orbs

Catalina increases elemental mastery of all team members by 60.
Time out:
When Catalina releases Tickaboom! For every 2 seconds the clock ticks, a seal is applied on 1 taunted target.
When Last Shower crits, all enemies with a seal on them will have additional electro orbs falling over them which deal 14% of her burst damage.
Material List:
When in party, Catalina has a 50% chance to double the amount of rocks when mined.
