hey all! me and my friends are playing this pack together and I've had no issues until today- after startup and joining a world, it keeps crashing after a few moments for a reason I honestly can't tell. Any help is appreciated. I did make sure to update my drivers, repair profile, and check for updates, but no luck.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

What happens if you try to use the application?
If it says it's corrupted or it can't be checked for malware, you need to right click the .app and click Open for the first time (as is normal on macOS for unsigned applications)

It makes the extractor break more blocks with each rank. Tier 1 is a + (5 blocks) Tier 2 is full 9, Tier 3 adds another 5 blocks in front, Tier 4 is a full 2 rows of 9 blocks, Tier 5 is another 5 blocks in front of the previous 2 3x3.
The uneven max is awkward. The Quarry Hammer however is an even 3x3 each tier.

Yeah... the long and short is a few months ago PP started asking if it could gather specific data. PPDev appeared to have teamed with Bright Data. Curious parties checked and found (inactive) programs that gathered all the data. Its why PP was kicked off Modrinth. Not sure if they cleaned this issue up, but it raised ALL the red flags.

I'm not sure, but if you don't have enough SU, there are ways to expand by building another engine and connect the total SU
Well, technically there are many ways to build a huge Steam Engine
I know Diesel Engines are a thing in this modpack, but I haven't gotten to that and don't know if they generate SU or Electricity

It's possible, I haven't updated anything, but I'd say avoid updating specific mods and only update when the devs push a full modpack update. Bugs like that can happen

Like I don't remember who, but someone wanted to swap the Sophisticated Storage for Drawers (I also prefer Drawers tbf), but it's not just "Remove Storage ones and dependancies and replace with Drawers". You'd have to look for what is known to case bugs, what bugs you encounter that others haven't, figure out if there's something incompatible and/or finding out a new one. It's a can of worms ;D

Eye of nebula for decreased magic damage taken, charm or hell blade and a strong melee (I've been using the trident with wrath v), use the charm and the damage increase to heal from one shotting endermen, or use the lost engine to leap up the pillars with some blocks to destroy those

Water buckets and Tetra's bow making system. Make a Recurve bow to make your bow fast, if you have to, and use the ability to swim.
Another recommendation is to try and somehow get the Jet Suit.
blazing core and a very strong bow/crossbow. fire at the crystals constantly, ignoring the lightning, bring bottles to slurp up the dragons breath whenever it fires at the perch youre shooting from so you can go back to shooting safely, and obviously take prot4 armor and featherfalling. if youve maxed out the sharp arrow, tough skin, and light feet improvable skills it should be a battle of attrition that you will eventually win
maxed out all fo the skills, brought blazing core, but the maing problems are the endermen
the baseline autoleveling mod might also be a problem since you cant properly edit the levels and the endermen are out of control with it

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

valk is usually buggy in general unfortunately. its very cool, but can cause huge issues. i once tried to make a simple 5 block raft and managed to consume a base 1000 blocks away through the ground and basically deleted the owners base with no warning and with nothing to be done but just roll back the server since the 'raft' wasnt even able to be accessed as soon as it was assembled

3: On first statup , It said I should add other mods that modrinth does not support. Two mod links and one link of recource packs.

5: The first time I started the game, It dind't crash and sent me to a screen where it told me to add mods/texture packs that were not supported by modrinth.

you can do a layer of lava underneath then a layer of soul sand/soil ontop

Oh, and luck of the sea you can get to lvl 14 then just fish and catch the book nonstop for pretty much unlimited xp (a lot of mob farms outdo it and it's nothing compares to what you can do larger scale but it's still an exploit).

yeah. modpack devs prob need to change recipes of the shaftless and half shafted cogs via json. I guess making them saw processed from regular cogs is a valid alternative

I dont know if its still can be found. In default mod and in earlier versions of steampunk i managed to find it in end cities or nether(not sure) structures. They might've balanced that out
With cumbustion chambers i think. Its 6 by default and 2 cumbustion chambers puts it at 8

Im playing it after a year or more gap. I also selected playing on hard + 7 curses ring. In general it feels more of a challange(aka prob rebalances were made) + some questlines were added but a lot of quests still do not have any descriptions and/or just a generic 10xp 3/5/10 xp levels reward

god this new create update seems like so much fun and so much more visually appealing compared to toms simple storage for consolidating and moving items around. wonder if it'll be long before the pack gets updated

i dont know how to update the pack manually, and i dont know if i can cause i run it on a server so id need to update that one too

The sorting issues with saplings can be solved with sophistocated storage or backpacks upgrades if you're creative enough lol

I use Gportal and they have it so you just pick a pack and it sets it up for you
However they do give you FTP access so i can dig around in the files and change whatever i might need to on the server
Profile options and checkbox "allow content management for this profile"
Then you can update and chang mods, if you see compat issues I'd suggest reporting them where you can to see if you can get fixes pushed through so that we can see a modpack update sooner.
It's normally as simple as replacing the same mod file on the server.

i dont know much about modpacks i assume sometimes you use older versions of the current mc build mod cause of api changes through updates and conflicts with packs this big
as youve said, conflicts tend to happen
sometimes things are left oudated strategically to avoid these conflicts

first issue was with create metalurgy, so i tried removing that, and now it wont even load up the ingame error message and hard crashs straight away. not sure what to look for in the logs to figure out what else to try taking out

What’s the best iron farm
Have you tried just strip mining the world with drills, feeding what you get through a system to sort it, crush it, sort that, then wash it?
I like a Create farm that generates cobble, crushes it to gravel, washes it with fans through water and combines the nuggets into ingots and then blocks
I can find a schematic link if anyone wants it, but I recommend adding an on/off switch because it can generate a lot of lag, but also a lot of iron really fast
how much faster is that compared to an iron golem farm?
I don't think vanilla iron farms can compete at all ;D

There are HUNDREDS of different builds, for varying sizes/results/lag reasons etc.

They have user posted schematics, not all will work 100% and beware some require addons
For example the automatic diamond maker doesn't work in steampunk
But most basic ones like iron, andesite, trees, crops on schematics

Have your sorting external and just use normal storage for it for now.
Use item vault/vanilla barrels, export them to a sophisticated storage through an Interface and sort them from that storage container
it'll take all the sapplings out and thus stop replanting
i just want to make it keep a small amount of sapplings for replanting
and iv been doing a lot of building so my brain is fried. i might be missing an obvious soultion
You can put a smart chute under the "outside" interface bus and filter it
but i dont often work with contraptions

the best i have right now is it doesnt take sapplings out of the tree farm
but that means they slowly build up until it'll be full
and wont pick up wood
Or if you want to play around you can also add a threshold when to take saplings and when not to
thresholds dont seem to work, as redstone doesnt update on a contraption
