could be that you have other applications taking up memory, you have shaders/too many resource packs loaded, otherwise idk
try setting max allocated ram to 10 gb, thats what most modpacks recommend and what i run on

In basis - Each machine (aka crusher, stamp and so on) use stress. The faster the machine is, the more stress it uses.
If you want more information on machines when placing them (how much stress they need and other useful stuff) you have engineer goggles.

There are certain mechanics that produce stress. Windmills, Waterwheels, later steam engines and so on.
But focus on big waterwheels at the begining. They produce the best stress at the beginning.

Most of Create has to do with so called "Contraptions". These are things, that move on their own. As simple example, you could make a rotating contraption that destroys trees for you and plant them back.
Each "mechanical" block has some sort of use. You can hover over each item and press W, you get a small explanation for what it actually does and how it does things.

That should be the first things to help you. If you want to build anything - Feel free to ask, people are helpful here. 🙂 IF I see your question I may even provide screenshot to explain certain things to you. Also, get a lot of KELP, you'll need it.
