depends, there's multiple trinket slots, for relics, there are rings, necklaces, chest, and head

the trinket slots that exist for relics are rings and necklace. For chest and head, you wear them instead of armor.

yeah I don't think heat sources work at all. I've also frozen to death standing next to a campfire and running furnace, with no change in speed either. It's especially fun with the seasons mod respawning early game without armor and just chain-dying for 2 hours because the biome is now cold. You can delete the mod, in which case there will be some invalid items in the quest menu unfortunately, or you could edit the config and make the values so ridiculous that it doesn't have a chance of triggering anymore

it really depends on what kind of mods you like, but I prefer the fabric version. It's more stable too.
things I miss from forge though:
alex's mobs (wildlife mod with more variety and unique drops/interactions as compared to fabric mods of the same type)
ars nouveau (magic mod where you craft spells like magicka. Wizards in fabric is really nice though)
Forbidden and Arcanus (I didn't really get into it much, but it had a lot of decoration blocks I liked. I'm sure the mod itself is good too but I can't comment on that)

I’d recommend looking for stronger staves in loot, that will make a big difference. And make a spell binding table so you can get some of the stronger spells. Besides that, yeah, you really just need the enchantments and relics to get strong.

Thanks for this information, but unfortunately, it does not work for me. Turning off various mods, rather than adding more, has let me play, but it is very non-deterministic - i.e., I can play for a session, but the next time I try, it stack smashes again. At that point, I start disabling more, and possibly re-enabling, until it stops smashing.
It would be nice if someone had a guide to troubleshooting stack smashing, but I haven't been able to find one. Or even a guide to just debugging mod issues - other than the useless, "disable mods until it works".

TieredZ has some rng to what stats it can pull, might be counting the spell power as a random bonus

i just did 64 rolls and got spellpower less than 50% of the times

if you turn on verbose item tooltips you should be able to see if it deletes them or not
