Hey, is it possible to reset the mobs' levels? I tried creating new worlds but the mobs still have around 30-40 hp
Apparently there is a known issue with Trolls in the MedievalOrigins1.4.2 that is used in the 1.19 fabric modpack. There's a 1.4.3 release uploaded two days ago that is supposed to fix it, so I tried replacing the jar in my client and server, and now it instantly loads, but almost instantly crashes right after. Does anyone have any ideas on what I may have done wrong? Should I be able to just swap the jar files with a newer version or is it not that simple?
I'd assume they wouldn't have released a new version if it was just guaranteed to crash, so I'm assuming it is only crashing due to some interaction with the modpack, but I'm unsure where to look
you should be able to delete an older version & replace it w/ a newer one, yes

Right, but I doubt they would have released a "fixed" version if it just crashes, which led me to believe this is some kind of modpack interaction that's causing it, and if it's a modpack interaction, then it wouldn't be their responsibility, right?

Alright so this is the crash I get upon trying to select Troll at the start of a singleplayer world. Again, for clarification, this is with the newer 4.1.3 MedievalOrigins version that was released 2 days ago, that was supposed to fix Troll crashing
I get a similar issue if I try to do the same on a server, running the same version

So you don't suspect a weird mod interaction then?
I'm guessing the Troll origin does different things in different biomes, right?
The issue seems to stem from the mod trying to generate these biome conditions

1.4.2 basically has the same issue, which is what's currently featured in the modpack

all I saw to diagnose the issue was
the first 20-ish lines all mention the medieval origins mod
and then theres also a ton of mentions of like "BiomeConditions" and "EntityConditions"
so I can assume from that its some interaction between modded biomes & other stuff that makes the Troll origins spawn conditions fail
I've tried a few different things in terms of replicating the issue, and it definitely seems to be tied to the biome spawn. I had someone spawn in as a different origin and I would change them to troll manually afterward, which produced no issues. It seems to be specifically when it's a new player selecting their origin, or selecting it for the first time in singleplayer, since that's when the player's spawnpoint gets set to the mountain biome and they get moved
A lot of the "mountain" biomes in "Oh The Biomes You'll Go" mod are renamed to peaks I think.
So yeah it's veryyyy safe to assume here it's just the mod can't properly spawn the player at a mountain biome
Hi guys, quick question, do you have rain particles? Cuz I do not and I am playing the game with all particles
I will say, in 1.4.2, there were a few times I got the server to recover by manually "kicking" it, so it wouldn't crash, and after the player timed out and reconnected, they were in the mountain. However, if they died and their spawn was still set there, they couldn't respawn

Could be an EnviromentZ thing, but not too sure if EnvironmentZ also affects rain. Couldn't hurt to check though.

Read the pins of this channel to see how to get to the settings of EnvironmentZ. From there though, you're on your own as the pins are describing a different problem so you'll have to mess with the settings of EnvironmentZ to find out if anything affects rain.

containers opening is delayed and fighting mobs is a nightmare

When you upgrade the wand, stuff will cost less mana. Most damaging spell is solar strike but it isn't really anything that impressive. Best spells in arcanus is lunge for mobility and infinite flight with elytra, and dream warp for warping back home. Arcanus is a very light magic mod.

If the sword deals more damage then it is a higher tier. The next step would be comparing with netherite.

Yes, I'm sure prometheum pick is probably at least netherite tier. Gotta remember that at a certain point, picks will have different rules than armors and weapons. The only reason to make certain tools beyond diamond or netherite will be special abilities, durability, and any possible special ores if they are in the modpack. In this case of this modpack, netherite can mine everything including unobtanium. Only really need to pay attention to the stats of armors and weapons now for the most part.

So uh, I found a bug with v5 fabric
I put enchanted armor in the grindstone expecting it to remove the enchant, instead gave me a diamond...and the armor back. Repeatedly. 50 times.

I would still personally classify the bug as cheating for my playthroughs as earning through adventuring and looting is as intended, but you can play however you want.

- LAN is very unreliable & thats why selfhosting is recommended

Build is str, dex, and luck. Fabric is so simple that builds won't be as varied as they would in Forge version because Forge has a lot of complex magic systems and more armors, weapons, etc. Iron locks are used to lock your chests from other players.
does anyone know hot the things mod works? i made one of the necklaces that is supposed to give you regen 2 when in light but im not getting the effect, maybe the mod is bugged?
Nope, you hover over one of the armor slots and one of them will be the necklace trinket slot

You probably need to be within a certain amount of light. If you place a torch down at night time right next to you, then you should have the effect and if it is daytime then you should have the effect.

Ik it sounds silly but when you have equipped a backpack how do you unequip it
The default keybind to open the backpack is "b" but the problem is that it conflicts with something else so you'll have to adjust your keybinds. Once you open the backpack you can unequip it the same way you equipped it.

Yes, as goblin traders can have things sometimes that you can't get normally plus the amount of experience you get from trading with them is quite a lot so balance needs to be made
then a new one will appear in an hour or two

Need to just be underground. Typically they'll spawn on you while you are mining as that is naturally what people do underground in this game but you can stand around and wait if you want, especially in a place like a mineshaft for example.

Okay, so this is a modpack. Has a lot of mods involved in it. To find out what is causing this wolf to be possible, you need to know the mod that is in this modpack making this wolf a possibility. To find that out, you could see if it says the mod that wolf is from by mousing over the wolf. Then you can search online to see if there's info about that mod.

Well now that you have one I might as well let you in on a thing, wolf armor exists. All the way up to netherite. It is also enchantable, so have fun with OP wolf army. There's also an MC Dungeons armor that makes beasts you own do more damage. Black Wolf set should make your wolves do 50% more damage.

They had 20hp, picked them up, set them down, and suddenly 70hp
Though everytime they became unloaded, they returned to 20hp

i noticed it yesterday, the health of mobs doubles whenever you pick them up and place it down
not sure if it'll cause any stack overflows, i'd suggest you to kill it with /kill

is the ability to crit when jumping/in the air not a thing in medieval MC to incentivize putting points into luck? and on that note, is there a crit chance cap?
cap is probably 99.99%
and i don't think crits are disabled unless PlayerEX does that
cap is 63.4% due to diminishing returns when adding points into luck. 50 points into luck is max, no more is given after that so you end up with 63.4% crit and evasion. Many people misunderstand the jump hit to crit mechanic. It still is in this modpack the same as it is in vanilla. But what gives the crit is swinging specifically when you are falling down as the idea of the momentum of gravity combined with your swing would give extra damage. If you fall and hit something you will also crit as long as you hit while you were falling.

No, no height factors in as far as vanilla goes. In this modpack, if you want more damage from crits then you would level dex.

The other modpacks here are pretty good from what I've heard if you want to try them. RLcraft gives more of a dark souls type experience so none of the other modpacks out there will be as hard as that pack afaik. I've played RAD (Roguelike Adventures and Dungeons) and can highly recommend that one.

I will have no idea. I had some lag with this one until I did 2 things. Downloaded Java 17 as is needed for 1.18 and up and started using GDLauncher instead of Curseforge. I get no lag with RAD on curse though so idk too much about that side of things.

I just made a traveller's backpack and stored some water into the fluid tanks. How do i extract that fluid and put it into say some bottles? I don't see any slot that lets you put the fluid into an object.

Is there a way a chunk loader block of some sort that can allow me to access Tom's Storage across dimensions? I've already built the beacon and have it close enough, but the advanced terminal won't pickup from across the map or from the nether
FTB Chunks, or it could be that the terminal isn't as near to the beacon as you thought it is, that was the case for mine.
Does it matter if the area I've claimed are from my party or me? And my terminal is pretty much sitting 1 block away from the beacon

It should work with the modded bows as the only thing that changes on modded bows are the look of them and the fact they come with an enchant or two. They're basically reskinned regular bows. Same base damage. For icarae you do get a damage bonus while flying.

Not really, golem is more of a challenge and less of an ideal class to play

I do not know what the hose it's for, but I think that you can fill any recipient as long as u place it in the bucket slot next to the water container

Mythic Mounts. Griffins spawn in mountain biomes. Make a Nature's Compass and then sort by tag. Scroll down until you find biomes with the tag "mountain" as there is only 5.

okay so on the mythic mounts page, the "habitats" for most animals don't match the names/tags in the nature's compass. so how do i find out what biome stuff really spawns in? for example, courier birds can only be found in jungle, jungle hills, and jungle edge. so do i need to look in just a plain ol' "jungle" or can they be found in a "tropical rainforest" since it has the jungle tag for the biome? should i base my hunting on biome tags rather than biome names?
Tags will say jungle, mountain, swamp etc. Don't look at the name of the biome on Nature's Compass. Look at the tag that the biome has.

i'm no math expert. but i'm pretty sure a constant 90% damage increase is better than 15% chance to multiply damage by six times.
It's mutually exclusive and doesn't work with many things such as Critical Hit and Enigma but for good reason. It's the most damaging.
When you have high levels of str and decent dex, you hit void strike often enough that everything is a cakewalk
RPG scaling difficulty would eventually surpass enigma anyway. And dual wielding exists. So combine attk speed from dex, dual wielding, and high levels on str, you then get a crazy damage setup. There's also armor that helps with this.
I have a question I've been trying to figure out for a while, but playing 1.19 on a server with a friend and whenever it rains, it doesn't show up visibly. I can hear the sounds, see it splashing in water, but can't see the particles for it dropping, even with particles set to fancy and it is activated. Anyone know why?

I don't think so. You can make wolves better due to enchantable wolf armor that goes up to netherite. Other than that, not sure if there's really any other cool pets/mounts.

The End enchants: Unbreaking and Mending (although unneeded due to a bug where dual wield weapons in off-hand don't use durability), Sharpness V, Fire Aspect II, Radiance III, Guardian Strike III (unneeded again due to how enchants work with dual wielding but I wanted immersion), and Void Strike III.
The Starless Night enchants: Same as The End except Sharpness VI (gotten from trading with nether goblin trader when I was mining ancient debris)
Titan's Shroud: Protection VIII (there's a dungeon where zombie mobs drop items with prot 8), Unbreaking, Mending, Deflect III, Fire Focus III (only on one piece), Burning III, and Thorns III. Cowardice III on one piece. Couple of utility enchants such as Feather Falling VI (gotten from regular goblin trader), Aqua Affinity, Respiration III, and Frost Walker II.
You don't really need all of this to kill wither fast. Prot IV minimum with Sharpness V and decent levels in str and luck.
Anyways, this is why enchants are so important because even with good gear, the majority of power will be enchants.

Both shader and non-shaders don't show rain. I typically just deal with it as there are other ways of telling it is raining. Might be one of the texture packs as I've seen rain when disabling some of those.

do fae have a shorter reach than normal? it just says they are small in their origin info. but pixies and dwarves are small and their attack range is unaffacted.
I've noticed that attack range seems shorter in general with most origins. But it's easy to mitigate and not much of an issue, at least for me it wasn't.

Hello, is getting netherite the same as in vanilla on the modpack?
Pretty much but there is a different method you can use. There's a legendary bangulum pick that you can make that has a right click ability that destroys a pretty large area. Take a silk touch pickaxe (diamond) and mine bangulum ore in the nether. Then take a regular diamond pick (no efficiency and no fortune) and mine them one by one because they have a chance to explode. You need 3 bangulum ore and a bangulum chunk. The chunk is a little rare to get.
You'll want unbreaking and mending on the bangulum pick as a lot of durability can get used when clearing multiple areas with the ability when mining for netherite. If you right click to clear out a nether quartz ore vein, you go back to 100% durability most of the time with unbreaking and mending.
Other places to find netherite are the big airships from When Dungeons Arise mod and can be found in The End by fighting the ender warthogs. Warthog shellpieces can make netherite scrap.

Otherwise, next cheapest fast method is to just wear armor with some blast resist (not needed but comfy layer)
And place beds down, hide as much of your body as possible from 3ish blocks away and try to sleep in it
Will clear a very large area and only uses 3 wool and 3 planks
Doesn't stack in inventory, but that's what extra backpacks are for
The above method, outside of Redstone contraptions, also one of the fastest ways to get netherite using vanilla methods
That is a method but requires more enchanting and bangulum isn't that hard to get
You can do it without any armor even on hard, just gotta be careful

Yeah, that's pretty much the progression if going through all of it. Unobtanium if creating metallurgium stuff for endgame. But I just stopped at netherite because I didn't need or want any of the other stuff for my endgame setup.

If playing fabric, play the most recent version of 1.19 as that will be maintained. If you want to play forge, I recommend 1.16.5 as it has the level up system and other stuff. Read pins of #better-mc-forge to know the difference.

im pretty sure professions does have "rewards" it's just not enabled by default. the mod page says for 1.19 fabric that you can enable it so leveling up your profession provides items. but personally, i found profession progression to be so slow idk how it could reward items faster than you could just make them yourself.

some updates might remove a crucial world gen mod for stability purposes or for it to be replaced

I haven't gotten the hoses to work
i watched a tutorial video on them, but didn't actually try them myself.
Yeah, I tried them and couldn't make them work so I either did something wrong or like the mod author said, the mod is still wip
The hose just needs to be on your hotbar, right click in hand to bind to your backpack you have currently equipped
You're then gunna need to rebind the keys cuz the default key binds are scuffed
It's working fine for me
I think the biggest confusion I've seen about it is people not realizing it's an item you craft seperatly from the backpack, and you just keep on your hotbar and use like a regular tool

is there a way to take your weapons off your hips into your hands with a keybind or something or is it just for looks
There are keybinds yeah. Gotta look for them. Belt slot by default is shift + G. I think the back slot is unbound
- It is a lite version of mods used from Medieval Minecraft Modpack
- I am not using a launcher as I have not installed the modpack and am only using some mods from it, I am using Fabric and just adding mods through there
- I am on 1.18.2
- I am using Java 18.0.1.1
- Crashing happens every time I boot the world up
- I have gotten in the menus but every time I boot a world up it crashes

one of onyxstudios's API mods seems to be causing it? idk
it could be a lot of things considering you're not even playing a modpack anymore
you have like ten mods installed and are using the default launcher
55 mods in all I cannot seem to find an onyxstudio api in the folder
im gonna try out fabric my forge keeps crashing all of a sudden
shift G is used for your belt slot (where only tools can go i think). the back slot (where you can have an extra weapon) is unbound by default IIRC. and then there's two slots in your backpack which you can cycle through with Z by default.
Z also turns waypoints off and on so need to adjust keybinds

Medieval mc is under rated
is thirst bugged for werewolf? ik it advances more quickly but it is wayyyy to much, as in i can watch it go from full to empty in less than a minute(havent drank dirty water)

Water goes down fast in hot biomes
is there a way around it? otherwise its guaranteed death pretty much
level str, your health regen will get to a point where it is so good that it won't matter if you are out of water

I think it is fine as is. Don't have to explore a desert or any hot biomes that much tbh. Exploration always requires being well prepared.
yup, savannah is usually right next to desert. Considered hot biome
savannah, desert, badlands those are all hot biomes
id much rather have debuffs or something

The biome variant dungeons in overworld spawn above y = 35 in 1.18+ RS. You may be looking too low. Look around in Badland caves higher in that biome and you should see badlands dungeons. Though dungeons are features in RS like vanillaโs dungeon. So locate command cannot find them and they have no advancement for them
Ocean dungeons spawn lower but easier to see exposed on ocean floor. Deep dungeons spawn below y = 0 replacing the vanilla dungeon below 0
Is Fabric 1.19 less dangerous when starting out compared to forge 1.16.5? I am finding it a lot easier to survive the day during a new run compared to the older forge version.
so we made an alloy forge, but the bricks keep cracking on their own which invalidates the "correct" structure of the forge. is there a way to stop the bricks from cracking on their own? is it cause we built inside a stronghold village?
Has less mods so yeah, I would say less dangerous starting out.
is there a mod that causes mob difficulty scaling and does it have a config?
i think rpg difficulty maybe and if most likely would have a config but idk much else on it

@clever stump I personally use 1.19 and its great ; just added some very small mods and my server is nearly perfect to launch at 1.9.
that pretty cool. 1.19 has less mods so I'm super confused what that means. is it better because it means less content bloat or worse because of other mods not being updated to 1.19

dose someone know how to fix a world that keep crashing when i try to get into the world.
any fae/pixie enjoyers out there that know how to get aerial affinity to work? i tested it on an obsidian block and the time to mine it while levitating is the same for pixie/fae regardless of the enchant. i also tried it enchanted on different pieces of armor. it doesn't work on the helmet, chest, or legs

figured it out. aerial affinity can be enchanted onto any armor piece, but the enchant only actually works if you enchant it on boots.
