It is highly advised to not use Optifine, as it is very glitchy, will increase loading times to upwards of 10 minutes, and will decrease your FPS substantially. All Luna Pixel Studios modpacks come with shader support without Optifine via Oculus on Forge and Iris on Fabric. Optifine is also incompatible with all of our modpacks. The game will not launch with Optifine installed.

  • For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
  • For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.

3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again

  • At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.

6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

Hi, I'm hosting this modpack to play with some friends (a dedicated home computer as a server). We've been playing for 2 weeks with excellent performance, but these past couple of days the server performance has dropped significantly.

This has happened because the players progressed quickly (villagers, farms, etc...), it's not like we have 100 cows in a chunk or anything like that, but I see this getting worse as we progress.

I actually consider myself to have an optimal computer for work and RAM is not a problem (there is 32GB available and the server only uses 6GB).

I haven't installed any mods to optimize it yet or touched the server.properties settings.

Are there any explicit recommendations for this modpack or should I just go with the general solutions I've seen on the internet (for other modpacks)?

It is highly advised to not use Optifine, as it is very glitchy, will increase loading times to upwards of 10 minutes, and will decrease your FPS substantially. All Luna Pixel Studios modpacks come with shader support without Optifine via Oculus on Forge and Iris on Fabric. Optifine is also incompatible with all of our modpacks. The game will not launch with Optifine installed.

No, that's the bad thing, for now there are players with small animal pens and the typical mobs that spawn naturally in the world.
There are not a few animals, but that's a very bad sign, since when the real farms are made the server will be unbearable.

I've figured out how to get Spark to show me thread names, and yes, it seems the problem is with entities.
When I get home I'll try the JAVA arguments thing, but in terms of optimization mods I was thinking that maybe these might help me:

Clumps: group XP (perfect for farms)
Get It Together, Drops!: group items (perfect for farms)
Let Me Despawn: despawn mobs that grab items (important for this modpack)
Log Begone: remove spam from the console (happens a lot with this modpack)
Concurrent Chunk Management Engine: improve chunk loading by making use of CPU parallelism.
FTB Backups 2: I haven't done any backups, so I'll take this step before installing anything.

In doubt...
Server Core: I don't know if I should add this one since it claims to improve some things that the previous mods are already attacking, but it adds interesting improvements such as areas with many villagers and mob generation.

What do you think? Do you have any experience with these mods or should you use better ones?

True, log begone is in the mods, I might have to configure it because there is really a lot of spam when initializing the server and loading some structures.

I've also seen those comments about c2me, maybe my only option is to try and see what happens with this modpack.

Is server core very serious the things it breaks?

About despawntweaker, it's probably not implemented, since that's my base source of the server's poor performance.

Edit: let me despawn it is implemented... wow, now I don't know what to do to solve the entity problem.

Right now the server is low on users so TPS is at 20/20, but indeed, mobs are being a big problem, there are a ton of them and they DO NOT spawn. They have been there for so long that they are even accumulated in the caves under the dungeons that are on the surface.

Hey everyone. Running into frequent server crashes running Better MC [FABRIC] v25 (1.20.1). Looking for any advice.

  1. Minecraft version: 1.20.1

  4. Modpack version: v25
  5. Crash condition is unknown - no noticeable pattern. In the most recent case, two players were online, one was swimming, one was exploring.

More context:

  • Hosting on a 6GB RAM server via Apex Hosting (Montreal, Canada)
  • So far the crashes have occurred when two players are online.
  • Server has crashed a total of 3 times today. We have been using it for only a couple days.

Hello guys i made work BMC4 with DistantHorizons-2.2.1-a-1.20.1-forge-fabric.jar, the thing is, idk if is normal to watch a lot of chunks uncompleted even when already walked that area, seems that it regerates every time i log in... is that normal or there is another tweak you recmmend?

it looks like thit, is that normal while loading? or it is just not working properly?

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

El Carbon mentioned it already after your message but the reason Iā€™m bringing up The Aether, and plenty of others too, is because the mod is actually complete and adds a good amount of new content, where as Paradise Lost only adds two mobs as of now. I know the Forge editions of the different mod packs have The Aether, so itā€™s just really exciting that Aether is finally on Fabric as well. Donā€™t mean to pester you at all just genuinely expected Paradise Lost to get replaced

We're cutting down on the amount of bathhouses that spawned near our base, they seem to leave behind a zone that gives you buffs but it isnt a block itself so we cant overwrite it or delete it. We've tried placing blocks over it with worldedit and setting it to air, doesnt work

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it.
