I think you solved your problem, but for the record, don't use that java, use the one from Adoptium

1. Download an adoptium release for Java (recommended but not required):

• Java 11 for versions 1.16.5 and below (can also use 8 if its not working)
• Java 18 for any versions newer (or 17 if 18 doesn't work)
• Consider installing the JRE instead of the JDK for a smaller file size

2. When installing through adoptium, make sure that Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME variable are both set to be installed (please see https://imgur.com/a/jPu1h7h for how that would look)

3. Check if java has been correctly installed by running java --version (or java -version on older versions), and seeing if the output is correct (see https://imgur.com/a/OWcoq4p for an example of the output)

• NOTE: 64 bit versions of java ALWAYS have '64-bit Server VM' in the version output. If that is not there, you have installed a 32-BIT version!! If you're getting Out of Memory errors or any other errors, PLEASE install 64-bit

   i) Delete ALL other java versions from your PC (ONLY recommended if you don't need them)
   ii) Redirect your launcher/server to use your new installation of Java

1. Uninstall any other java program listed in your programs list (differs by OS, please find a guide for your own OS if you don't know)
2. Attempt to re-use the command mentioned above (if the output is now correct, which it should be, you are ready to go)

1. For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

Curseforge sometimes do that, and GDLauncher has no way around it, that is why ATLauncher is more recommended, a bit more annoying because the download is a bit more manual, but you can actually get past that point in case curseforge is doing the dumb

Jer, the error message indicates another application (possibly even another instance of a Minecraft server) is already bound to that port. Only 1 application can bind to a port at a time. You will need close what ever application is using that port before the Minecraft server you are trying to launch can use it.

you can use Microsoft command line tools like netstat to determine what application/executable is bound to what ports.

1. Uninstall any other java program listed in your programs list (differs by OS, please find a guide for your own OS if you don't know)
2. Attempt to re-use the command mentioned above (if the output is now correct, which it should be, you are ready to go)

Method ii

1. For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"
2. For a client, depending on whether you use CurseForge, GD, or AT, the process is slightly different. Please see a guide for each respective launcher on how to change the java version.

There are a few good options for end-game armor, the dragon one is pretty good and my favourite, but there is also the deeper and darker set for example, which has a high knockback resistance

For elytra, you can fuse it together with the dragon chestplate, or use any chestplate + one of the modded elytras and place them on the elytra slot (they only differ in dura, because the other stats are ignored while on the elytra slot)

As I am using the default mojang minecraft launcher and wanting to use fabric, i used this launcher.

To get the mods, I did this

1. Download the modpack SERVER PACK from curseforge
2. Import the mods from here into my .minecraft mods folder

and then I run the server and play using singleplayer as I get more frames that way

Do any of the mods change the way nether portals link up? I'm trying to build a ghast farm and can't get the portals to link up correctly... portals are like partially linked, so the left side of a portal will link correctly but the right side of the same portal won't link/creates a whole new portal.

I'm running a medieval v4 fabric server that keeps lagging/crashing after about an hour of play and I'm trying to figure out what is going on. When I look at the server stats it says there are almost 8000 chunks loaded and I am the only person on the server although there are others who play at times. Anyone have any idea how there could be so many chunks loaded?? The world is pregenerated if that matters and I just ran /forceload query and it says there are only 10 chunks forceloaded.

I have an advanced wireless terminal binded with a level 4 beacon and the chunk is forceloaded. I am able to open the terminal in the end but after about a minute the terminal does not update with things I remove or add. Is there a way to fix this?

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

If all else fails, a manual installation should work:
