BMC 5 new update has a lot of glitches. Id advise not to go to version 12.5 and stay with 12...
I am hosting a betterminecraft forge server, and something called "lunapixel" has setup a domain to redirect to my IP, i havent even portforwarded the server yet, or set up my custom domains. the warning was "Luna is running on a Dedicated Server! This shouldn't normally happen." "Domain assigned .........mc.lunapixel.gg" ( removed as it does actually redirect to my mc server) How can i disable this???
not necisarilly related to bettermc but does dynamic surroundings just not work for 1.20.1 or am i doing something wrong? most of the sound effects just dont play for me and im not sure why
bmc4 wont let me run a server for bisect
!server Did you follow these steps?
Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
BMC 5 Glitches, Dragons constantly standing and flying away with their own mind, leaving render distance or waystoning causing them to. Also all types of dragon armor are now "Null".
I updated my Server to v35.5.
Is it normal that zooming doesn't work anymore?
I also tried to change it on a key that is empty.
Also doesn't work.
Same for my friends.
play whichever pack you'd like most, its not a linear series or something

how is your server installed
i need logs
!tps your server needs more ram allocated. you can edit in the variables.txt file
Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.
please report the bugs
instead of vaguely complaining about it
ignore it, it means nothing
Well no, it lets me connect to the server through the IP that it posts, and I don’t want my server to be exposed through a bisect hosting subsidiary ?? Why can’t I disable it?
report it to the mod developer of dragon mounts legacy please
i dont think it actually does anything lol
not to my knowledge
and bisect hosting has nothing to do with it
you can remove the luna mod if you're so paranoid about it
you need a spyglass
Ohh lol, bcs when I typed the IP in I connected to my server through it, and lunapixel.gg redirected to bisect. If it’s literally just that then I might remove it, I was just wondering if there is a command or config I can use to disable it
Thanks:)
i figured it out it was due to a bugged chunk
why dont you relax. I mesaged a dev and told me to put it in this chat.... And why dont you be useful and send the developer of the mod if their in here
its not my responsiblity to decipher "this modpack is buggy"
i dont know what that means
you have to be specifc
and i do not want to report vague bugs on behalf of you when you are the one experiencing who is able to consistently reproduce the issue
acting like i know who the devs are for which mod lmao
go to the mod's curseforge page
there is always either an "issues" button
or a discord server you can go to
is "CMD configuation causing issues" common? Can't figure out how to get it to run as administrator to get it to go away
Btw, HUGE THANKS to the devs for the latest update, ive been trying to debug that pesky chunk loading issue. Game doesn't crash in certain areas now.
Also anyone know a way to pre-load chunks? I hate waiting for it when exploring with elytra. it can get slow.
what?

If you're having issues with your friends joining your server, your port for Minecraft may be closed.
-
Check with https://portchecker.co/ with your IP and Minecraft's port (drop down menu) to see if it's open.
-
If it's closed you will need to search online "How to open Minecraft port for server with (ISP Name)

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.
To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.
are you sure you didnt add any mods
I have a question, does anyone knows how Mixin works ? I'd like to add other mods to the bmc modpack but It throws me errors and when I look at the crash-log It seems that it's connected to mixin and the mods that uses that.
i have crafted a inactive spawner how do i start making to spawn hostiles

fwiw I keep getting exit code 1, idk if that has anything to do with it

Uh, so im New in modding MC in general, and i found an dragon egg on some spawner-like structure, i placed it down, does the egg needs requeriments to hatch? Its an aether dragon egg to be specific
it tells you in the questbook how to hatch it

- 1.20.1
- CurseForge
- no
- v35.5
- no. can't join world.
- i used AmbrosiumTorchArrow with crossbow and it caused crash, unable to join world
Uploaded message.txt from @bright dawn to mclogs: https://mclo.gs/l6iE5jz
is it allowing you to access new worlds?
haven't tried that but i am sure it will. i will try it now
yup. 1.20.1 ATLauncher, have not changed the modpack, it's v34.5, game always crashes upon opening/creating a new world
i've hit the "check for updates" button on atlauncher but i'm not seeing anything
no update button showing?
did you install pack from packs tab or download it from curse and put it in atlauncher?
installed from the packs tab
so i just created a new world, i entered the world without any problems. and i tried same thing, shot AmbrosiumTorchArrow with crossbow and my game crashed.
so i guess that arrow is bugged
report to the dev of the mod
50 minutes!?!?!? aw man
not possible with this backpack mod
alr
any cool servers i could hop on?
@agile cradle can you check this out
please do not ping. and did you add essential?
You don't need it, and it's not supported at all. Redownload the pack, and don't touch that mod ever again.
!ea
The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.
Anyone got any servers I could join??
i did this but it wont let me join unless i delete a few mods on my client modpack side
what essential do you mean?
then you either added essential mod, or you're using a cracked launcher. not curseforge
i didn't add any mods, all i did was download the modpack from modrinth to run the server and downloaded the same version from curseforge
what launcher you using to run the pack through
how does one update a modpack on atlauncher
update button
where lol
it'll show one when there's one ready.
is v35.5 on atlauncher? mine only updates to v34.5
i am running curseforge now i am trying ATlauncher
lemme double check my instance.
damn wth
completely shut down atlauncher and reopen it
hidden can you check my log above
make sure you're using atlauncher, not curse
im not sure what's going on
indeed i am using atlauncher lol

?
Can I just say I straight up hate macs
yes
cause like, whyyyyy
i mean ideally i'd like to fix my curseforge profile, bc that just stopped all of a sudden but neoforge and fabric
curse breaks crap and is a resource hog
but my forge better mc profile also stopped making crash reports
which makes no sense
curse is a curse and breaks crap.
i reinstalled v34.5 and reinstall v34.5 on my modrinth server
why is it missing mods?
use curseforge version.
you downloaded the modrinth version. that's why. download the one with curseforge logo
both
client and server side
it would appear inquiring is discouraged
modrinth is a few versions behind pretty sure. that's why you can't see the current
wait i dont think it's possible to download the curseforge version on modrinth?
No. I thought you said you were using atlauncher?
i just switched back to curseforge but i can try again on ATLauncher
Use atlauncher, install the one labeled as curseforge, not modrinth
i just checked and i downloaded the one from curseforge
then you were outdated
but the modrinth server modpack doesn't have v35.5
alrighty it crashed!
only up to v34.5
you need to use the curseforge version period. server and client side
how do i get the curseforge version on modrinth? it saids i need a mrpack file

Sadly idk anyone who's mac literate on this stuff
just best to wait for time being.
yikes ok
how do i get the curseforge version on modrinth? it saids i need a mrpack file
How is the server being hosted?
You don't need a mrpack
it's being hosted on modrinth
paid for a host
if i clicked change modpack it's only provided by modrinth
i would need a.mrpack file somehow
Yeah I am clueless with their stuff. best I can suggest is find a different host
any recommendation?
wait.
Chloe likely will have better answers than I would.
she'll ping ya'll when she gets a chance to go over your stuff

bisect, bloom, or could self host from your pc
game keeps crashing when i Press E for inventory

hey! does anyone know how to increase the probabilities of structures in better MC?
in the config for the structure mods
so depending on what structure you want more of youre gonna have to change it in the right mod config
Where are you hosting?
You can manually update your server to v35.5
Doesn't matter what version Modrinth supports
they are using modrinth as the host
Can you access the server files?
Yes
Download the server pack from curseforge
apparently modrinth only allows mrpacks for servers
Yeah ^
Oh my bad
Then play on v34.5 I guess
it's why I told uzi to get a dif host
I am hosting on Nitrado
so they can use the curseforge version
nitrado runs like crap for the packs 99% of the time
But Lunapixel has an offer
Bisect Hosting
@agile cradle Is Bisect Hosting good? I guess installation of the modpack is also very easy.
yeah. we are sponsored by bisect, but it's not the only host people can use.
I am happy with Nitrado, but the price is meh
yeah bisect is good, fast and easy support, easy set up, etc
Last time I use ggservers for bmc2 like a year or 2 ago
but the server kept lagging when I loaded chunks
Another good option people tend to like is bloom
That’s why I decided to give modrinth host a try
Nitrado also allows to install modpacks directly. But BMC4 only v34.5 currently, so I updated manually to v35.5
Is the world sharing feature a good option if the host has a rather good computer?
world sharing is a free microserver. you're referring to self hosting. both are good options. World sharing is good for short term chill play. Servers are better for longer term or if you have bad ping from US servers.
Yeah good to know which hosters are good atm, I just know Nitrado from the past
I see thank you.
I tried to host on Aternos
For being free it was pretty fine
!aternos
We don't support Aternos nor can we assist you with using it for reasons listed below;
- You are unable to add / edit the mods to implement a fix that can be game changing at times.
- We are unable to control the updates of our packs on Aternos, nor ever will.
- The hosting is not strong enough to host our packs on there without it crashing every so often.
- We have other free methods that work much better than Aternos does. Run the !ws command and the !server command in #bots for more information on how to host a server for free.
we have a command just for that thing
Hahah
For being free I was surprised, but of course it is not an option if you want to set up a 24/7 server with multiple people and enough RAM.
aternos is built for vanilla. not modded
It allows you to install modpacks
It even has like the feature
i did play with better mc for 1.16.5 but lets be fr it wasnt the best
yeah, which I've been griping for a long time that they need to remove it, cause it don't work. their crap ain't strong enough to host modded properly
aternos is a joke
IF they only labeled themselves as vanilla only I wouldn't mind. but they are trying to trick people to using modpacks on it, and attack their own users who are needing basic help
asking them the simplest of questions they act like players are crap on the bottom of their shoes
Quick question: When I create a waypoint (like with the map) in the Nether it gives me an error when I try to teleport there. There is an option to allow it. Do you know if I am fine when I turn it on?
likely from configs
I just placed a waystone there now, but I like the waystone feature with the map
do you have commands on?
Yeah
waypoints you need commands on and for cross dimensions try checking in the configs for the maps
does anyone got ghood better mc 4 seeds?
honestly throw random words in there and try it
Facts
We just entered the Aether and it is dark. Even when I turn time to day it gets dark within seconds. Is this normal?
I get this error
When I try to teleport to the waypoint in Nether
Am I fine with turning that on?
Just got cusre forge earlier today, got better MC and when i got pebblehost server started i start up MC and its telling me i have modpakcs installed that i need to remoe
how do i know which ones need to be removed
you have a mod that's not compatible added. you add essential?
yes i have essential, did that one first

its not compatible
i mean it is but u cant use it
idk why
no it's not compatible
there's already a world sharing mod, and it's a piece of crap cause it corrupts worlds
is this where i have to ask the question?
if it's for bmc forge/neoforge yes
alr thxxx
the ghost dragon idk where to hatch it
a video said it had to be below layer 60 and someone on reddit said it had to be on layer 0 idk
it just need to be fully dark i think
I tried restarting without opening essential mod first and the game just crashes?
im new to all this, can someone help
so the layer doesnt matter?
also whys the wiki page just empty
Im just tryna use the better MC mod on Java so i can start my server (pebblehost) and this has been difficult
reinstall the pack entirely
modpack. not mod
idk i heard it crashes whenever your using other mods with it
is there a wiki page filled?
no wiki for bmc
oof
pain in the butt to upkeep. and expensive
yeah, making websites cost a lot of money
ok deleted the mod on curse forge will be redownloading and opening MC
isnt there a wikipedia of games where its free to start a new wiki page tho
idk what its called
fandom is a joke. they screwed up big time with how bad their ads are

yeah thats true but i would rather eat the ads than having to guess which one of the methods to hatch the ghost dragon is actually the one that works🥹
well you can't read the page cause of the ads
what's the point of a page with information if it can't be read?
ig its like watching a free movie on a sketchy page
also is there a way to know which mod it uses for the dragons?
bc apparently theres a lot of them and they all have the ghost dragons but different ways to hatch it
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Cursforge
- Nope
- BetterMC Version28
- It appears to be based on rendering or ram related but I'm not sure the exact conditions for this
- Afraid it's quite a vague crash. Whilst moving through the world sometimes by doing some actions the game will freeze and the audio will reset in the background. Music will stop and then the next audio event to be called will be called. If I minimize the game then reopen, it will flash the frozen screen rapidly from black to the last viewed screen

hey yall. im trying to install a server for BMC 4 on linux, but when i run start.sh i get an error stating i need to specify the java installation filepath. ive got everything downloaded, just cant figure out how to get it to recognize where the java.exe is located.

its on my friends pc

world share doesn't use lan, just the button from it
it's rewired
!ws
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

@agile cradleokay so he joined me but that crash sometimes happen

so did anyone find anything about hatching the ghost dragon?
i just left it almost at the bedrock level and it hasnt hatched yet, its been 20 minutes
Did you follow the quest book on how to do it?
And it might take longer than 20
Is there a wiki for Better Minecraft?
be very careful when you hatch it not to put any water flowers fire ice etc or the egg will change ghost being overall rarest (i believe) when it hatches feed it raw fish till its big enough to put a saddle and fly, the hatching time is about three our four days ( mc time) make sure to put one soul torch or soul latern (the blue one) above the egg
yeah about that umm
i havent even completed the first 4 things
So if i dont do the torch thing it wont hatch?
that would explain why it hasnt hatched after an hour
kinda it speeds it up and lay the egg at around y 0 or 1 not -0 or -1
dont be afraid to break it and move it it wont break permanently i dont think so in the games dex for dragons it tells you how to hatch them all also DO NOT FORGET TO RIGHT CLICK THE EGG forgot that one if you dont right click it the egg wont even start hatching
OH
yeah it would have helped a lot to know the last thing lol
so i gotta move it to layer 0?
yea the dex says anything between layer 0 and 2 for ghost dragon
so press E and at the top left youll see a book click on that book and start the quests if you havnt already then go to the tab section go to overworld and go to the black egg then scroll down it tells you how to hatch them all from there
it tells you it changes the egg as well but it helps hacth it ive tried both ways
Tysmmmmm
no worries i hope it helps
so i have a question how do i enable cheats after said world is made
u can’t

You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". If you're having issues with your friends joining your server, your port for Minecraft may be closed.

Check with https://portchecker.co/ with your IP and Minecraft's port (drop down menu) to see if it's open.

If it's closed you will need to search online "How to open Minecraft port for server with (ISP Name)

Hi does anyone know why when my friend joined me using essential mod they couldn’t move at all

And it works
We’re using the same ip if that matters I think that might be why
But later for some reason randomly that happens
Hi guys so my friends and i are playing on our minecraft server but for some reason we cant craft some items no matter who puts it in the crafting grid the result on the right stays empty the modpack is BMC4 1.20.1 v35.5 (CurseForge)
looking people to play better mc w me!
Anyone know?
Ok
Replying to myself in case anyone runs into this - we needed to move the curseforge saves into the actual folder for the BMC modpack, not just generally into the ATLauncher folder. 🤦♀️ Live and learn.
i just started playing bmc forge yall got any good info i should know
